Call Quality comparisons - HTC One S

There have been a few users (myself especially) questioning the call quality on 4+ ROMs. I put together a comparison video demonstrating both visual and audio of a CM11 based ROM (OnePlus One port) and a stock port (Sixth Sense). The Sixth Sense ROM I demonstrated with and without Xposed Framework with Xsense (noise suppression).
I tried to use audio that would have a low speaking voice as that is when I have the most problems, but this round the audio did not cut in and out like previous times. But hopefully it will help anyone with questions about the call quality of the ROMs.

Call recording on CM 10.1

Is there any way to record calls, like any kernel currently implementing mods for supporting call recording ?
If anyone has figured this out, can they help ?
Please don't go over the legality of this, i need it for educational purposes ( My friends discuss things over the phones and the recording them would be great, i tend to forget things. )
Only microphone-based call recording works on CM. The only combination where voice line recording works is that of Chinese audio libs and a supported kernel. CM kernel has these enhancements enabled, but the audio lib parts aren't ported, I didn't research how it works and it wasn't a priority.
I have a thread in general section about call recording on ICS, you can check that out.

[Q] I recorded Videos at a festival and there is to much bass

Hello guys, i was at Nova rock in Austria this year and recorded some Videos too, but most of them have to much bass in them, i mostly used the Color OS Camera with 1080p and Default Settings, also one Video was with the normal camera.
My Rom is ressurection Rom cm12.1 (1 Version before latest)
I found out that the normal camera have a Audio codec to choose (aac) and the Color os camera (from the oneplus themes and apps the one with Version H )had an Option to use Audio from the microphone , i dont know if this helps me or makes better Audio as me and my friends were mostly in the first row of the wavebreaker and the bass here is pretty hard but my friend with an lg g3 (stock Rom) recorded most of it fine even thought he were right beside me.
Can some one give me suggestions what camera suits me better or what Options?
Anybody ?
This is an issue with CM not having sound limiter/mic gain control.
You can try to use cinema fv-5 which has audio gain control or any app where this function is present.
Is there this problem also with AOSP roms /oxygen?

Camera issue in all Custom Stock Roms like CN (non touchwiz roms)

The issue I'm talking about is not about the quality of images or video graphics that the camera can capture or record>
the issue is with the quality of the sound in video recording in non touchwiz roms like CN or other custom roms installed on samsung (mine is S3) , the sound in those roms is sucks in comparison with sound recorded by camera video in touchwiz based roms.........
my question why? and how to fix if there is a fix? because usually the non touchwiz roms are faster the touchwiz based roms but the microphone in those roms works better. I think it is really important thing.

[DISCUSS] Best Sound Mod on XDA (Music Lovers Join Here)

Hey XDAians,
Everyone just loves music and audio mods in xda are just perfect for us.
But there are many mods and it is hard to decide which one to use ??
So i have created this thread so that we can discuss about these mods and we can obtain the best combination among these.
You are free to comment anything about these mods or the other mods that are not mentioned here
You can also comment tricks and tips which will help to increase sound quality.
So lets begin !!
Official ViPER4Android Audio Effects
eXtremeBeats™ Audio mod
XTREMEMusic™ Super mod
Beats Audio mod
ViPER|Audio || ViPER|Atmos || ViPER|DD+ Driver Stock*Sony*Beats
DivineBeats Sound mod
Thanks for the mention.
eXtremeBeats started out as a small experiment for me at first. It was a mod I used myself, and then wanted to share.
eXtremeBeats primary function is to enhance music on any rooted android phone. Many phones, especially lower end phones tend to lack in audio quality. This is caused by a number of factors; software limitations, hardware limitations and the listening device connected to your phone. With some of the best hand picked mods from XDA we are able to ' soften ' and even eliminate these limitations. Whether it's a noisy environment for your DAC, Low quality DAC or Volume/Software restrictions these hand picked mods can work in real time to greatly enhance your audio experience. With mods like Beats Audio, Pure Audio, Dolby and Sony ClearAudio working together you are sure to have the best listening experience around even with a $50 android device!

Modifying in-call voice playback in a custom ROM

Hi, I'm a developer. My first time into building AOSP and experimenting with custom ROMS.
I would like to know if it's possible to modify the OS in order to add preprocessing to in-call voice playback (normal phone call).
I already know it's possible with system audio (such as music players, etc.), but I couldn't find information and the best entry point for in-call voice processing.
I am targeting Nexus 5X, so I'm OK with modifying Qualcomm code.
Also, I'm only interested in modifying playback - I don't care about recording (uplink).
If there's an entry point that will apply the same way for phone calls, and all other system audio - that would be the best.
Thanks
