[Completed] [Q] I can't boot into stock recovery... - XDA Assist

I unlocked and flashed custom recovery CWM 5.0.2.7. on my mytouch 4g slide. I needed to exchange my phone because of hardware defects; so I wanted everything back to stock. I downloaded PG59IMG.zip. I went ahead and relocked the phone and instead of flashing stock ROM (PG59IMG.zip) which was what I was suppose to do I made a big mistake and went ahead and restored everything using CMW while being in re-lock. After everything loaded; I wasn't able to get into recovery mode. It would just loop back to the bootloader screen. I tried reset to factory settings and It would just load for a little bit and then it would go into bootloader; nothing happened. I tried to unlock the phone again but in the command prompt after I type in code fastboot flash unlocktoken unlock_code.bin It would just freeze on the next line "waiting for device" I couldn't find any answers on any forums about this specific problem. Please help! I am very new at this. Thanks in advance!

[Q] Phone won't boot into recovery, please help

Hi. This is the first time I've tried to install custom rom's on my phone so bear with me. I followed a post (since I can't post links yet just google: CyanogenMod 9 (CM9) for HTC One X is Here. It's the first link) detailing how to install CM9 on the OneX. Everything worked up until step 16 where you have to boot into recovery mode. When I select recovery mode from the bootloader, the phone just tries to restart and gets stuck at the HTC loading screen with a message underneath saying that this ROM is not official etc.
Is there an easy way to try and fix this and make it work properly? I've tried erasing the fastboot cache and that didn't make a difference. At this point I don't really care if I have to erase everything and just go back to what I had before. The phone doesn't show up as a drive on the PC when I plug it in.
Any help would be great!
SOLUTION: Ok this is what I did to get it working again. My phone is on Rogers so I had to download this RUU and then follow these steps to flash the RUU onto the phone. Pretty simple actually.
Well, I can tell you that the ROM you were trying to flash was not for the S4 variant of the HTC One X, the ROM you saw was for the international Tegra 3 chip which is VERY different. I would attempt to flash an RUU from the At&T HOX thread if that is possible. Sorry if I can't be of any more help, that's all I've got.
I just had this exact same problem on mine. Well I didn't try to install a full rom, but accidently tried to apply the mod where you remove the menu bar and remap the keys that was for the HTC One X (Internation/Tegra3) to my HTC One X (AT&T) and what happened was it would freeze at the HTC One Beats Audio screen and not do anything. Tried going to Recovery as well and nothing. So I thought. What I had to do was unplug my phone from USB, hold down power for about 7 seconds until screen goes black, immediately after screen goes black, release power button and start to hold down volume down button, this should get you to the Recovery menu. From here what you will need to do is go into FlashBoot, and then from ur PC (or mac... hopefully PC though) you need to relock your BootLoader, and get stock recovery (if you changed it). After this reboot and then go back into Recovery, FastBoot, and connect to PC. Now download the AT&T RUU (i used the newest, 1.85) and run through those steps. After this is finished phone should boot fine and your expensive device is saved.
Oh by the way, I'm an evolving Noob. Just started to do anything ...interesting... with my phone today, crap went down, and using these steps I was able to fix it, so if I am off on some of my steps or unclear, just comment please and I'll try and correct myself or giver farther details on what I did.
-Good Luck
Thanks for the replies but I think my situation is further complicated by the fact that my phone is a Rogers phone. I know the RUU is 1.73.631.1 but I don't know if a stock recovery is available for Rogers yet. It sounds like all I have to do is find the correct RUU and flash it to the phone.
TrueLandon, you said after you held the power button down for 7 seconds you could put the phone into recovery mode. Would that be the same thing as the bootloader menu (where you can select fastboot, factory reset etc)?

Yes, sorry if I were unclear, still trying to learn the lingo and technical terms , and yea, that's what you would need then is the RUU for Rogers, but I think the other steps should work for you.
I'll PM you a link to 1.73 RUU for Rogers

The facepalm is significant and this makes me wish HTC forced carriers to label the S4 One X as the One XL.
If your bootloader was unlocked, lock the bootloader and run the RUU from fastboot.
Thanks for the replies guys. Truelandon sent me the RUU that I need for my phone but there's no .exe file in it. I was just wondering if I can somehow use these files and flash my phone with this RUU. Most of the files that I ended up downloading are disk image files.
Addition to the issue
I flashed a cm9 rom on my hox (international version). Its working fine but the only issue is that i want to install black and cyan theme to it and when i try to flash it and the moment i hit recovery in boot loader my phone restarts and comes back normal.so i can't enter cwm to flash the theme.

Wrong forum you have the international one x the is the one xl forum so we can't really help your phone has completely different partitions.
The only thing I would suggest is to reflash your cwm and see if it helps.

[Q] One X recovery help!

Hello everyone, I'm new here on the XDA forums and I need help recovering my HTC One X
I tried installing CM9 on the phone, only to be stuck at the boot screen indefinetly, (I made sure that I followed the instructions correctly too) eventually I gave up, and decided to restore a backup I made through clockwork recovery mod. Now my phone gets to the htc one logo screen, then just hangs there, I have read around the web and tried relocking the phone then flashing a stock RUU, but I get an "error 140 wrong updater" message or something like that, so I guess I don't ahve the correct RUU for my phone. I also tried "fastboot erase cache" which didn't help either. As of now, it seems my phone cant even boot to the logo screen, and just boots directly into bootloader, but I can't access recovery anymore. So, is my phone premanetly screwed? or is there still a way? I don't know too much about homebrewing phones so any help would be greatly appreciated.

[Completed] Phone rebooted, now only boots in Recover boot screen

Phone just randomly shut off after using gps (normally normal) and this time it decided to stay stuck in the recover mode screen. None of the options work. Cant recover, factory reset, nothing useful other than reboot which take me back to same white screen.
So i'm not really sure what my options are as far as possibly data recovery. I tried using the windroid but it only detects under fastboot mode and doesn't seem very useful. I tried reflashing the recovery img but didn't seem to do anything.
HTC Amaze
Hi!
To be clear, it's the Amaze 4g? Since you are trying to recover data.... You will need to ask here. Flashing to stock is probably the answer. But to recover data... Better ask in your device section about that...
>HTC Amaze 4G>Amaze 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
ive posted in Amaze section but haven't gotten any replies... Currently i just need to know if theres a way to flash is without being able to enable usb debug? I tried using a stock rom and it worked for abour 15-20 minutes then locked up and rebooted itself back to bootloader and haven't been able to get it back since. The phone just stops after verifying the rom and doesn't ask to install it. I can only assume it's not the right one? but doesn't make sense since it's the same one i used the previous time and it did install
XDA Assist is only here to provide direction around the site. It is not for support. You'll just have to be patient. You've posted in the correct section for your device and that's all you can do I'm afraid.

[Completed] [SOLVED] I'm pretty sure my phone is bricked please help

please help me find a thread to solve this or if you know a way please tell. Ok I have a rooted Motorola Atrix HD Unlocked bootloader custom recovery and everything. Saw Cyanogen Mod decided to flash it as my first ever ROM. Big time noob mistake, I forgot to clear system or whatever its called. So now I'm stuck on a loading screen of Cyanogen Mod boot. Any help would be greatly appreciated I will take more caution to my next flash. Also if this makes any difference I have a backup of my old ROM but whenever I go into recovery a black screen with white text pops up so I cant flash it.
Hi,
Have you tried wiping properly and flashing the rom again?
Or your recovery won't let you?
I will have your thread moved to your device section so the experts who own your device can help you.
Good luck!
I had messed up the binds going into fastboot rather than recovery I did what you said and it worked very well thanks!

[Completed] Verizon S6 Edge - bricked

Hi All,
I rooted my phone yesterday using the Ping Pong method. I installed TWRP and Busy Box. I wanted to boot TWRP into recovery to take a Nandroid backup, but it would not respond when I told it to boot into Recovery. I went into TWRP settings and selected the alternate Reboot method checkbox. After rebooting, I have a light blue Verizon prompt saying that my device is corrupted and I need to use the Verizon Software Repair Assistant.
I tried rebooting and it prompted me stating that custom Rom's are not supported, I hit the Volume Up to Continue and now it says "Downloading" with no indication or progress bar.
I found a Verizon S6 Stock Rom, and believe I need to reflash it somehow. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. I'd flash the stock firmware with Odin and start over. See this,http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/sm-g925f-s6-firmware-thre ad-t3078841. If you have further questions ask in that thread.
