[Completed] Verizon S6 Edge - bricked - XDA Assist

Hi All,
I rooted my phone yesterday using the Ping Pong method. I installed TWRP and Busy Box. I wanted to boot TWRP into recovery to take a Nandroid backup, but it would not respond when I told it to boot into Recovery. I went into TWRP settings and selected the alternate Reboot method checkbox. After rebooting, I have a light blue Verizon prompt saying that my device is corrupted and I need to use the Verizon Software Repair Assistant.
I tried rebooting and it prompted me stating that custom Rom's are not supported, I hit the Volume Up to Continue and now it says "Downloading" with no indication or progress bar.
I found a Verizon S6 Stock Rom, and believe I need to reflash it somehow. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
--
Adam

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. I'd flash the stock firmware with Odin and start over. See this,http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/sm-g925f-s6-firmware-thre ad-t3078841. If you have further questions ask in that thread.

[Q] Having issues rooting/flashing custom recovery

Hey everyone, sorry if this has been asked already, I wasn't able to find what I was looking for with the search. I've been trying to unlock and root my Motorola Xoom (WiFi Canadian model, should be the same as the American MZ604, yes?) and haven't had any luck flashing a recovery that works. Unlocking the bootloader went fine as far as I can tell, but when I try and flash a recovery (tried CWM and TWRP) it comes up with a line of text in red saying something about a partition recovery, then 2 lines about flashing recovery and being successful. When I try and boot into recovery though to continue rooting the Xoom, I get the android laying on its back with the caution triangle over its chest. Any suggestions or ideas as to where/what I'm going/doing wrong?
Anyone? No one has had a similar problem to what I have been experiencing?
After you flash the new recovery and reboot the Xoom, it is very important to not allow it to boot into Android. If it does, Android will detect the foreign recovery and remove it.
When the Xoom reboots, press (don't hold) the volume down key to get a line of text about entering recovery, and press volume up to confirm.
This time you should see your shiny new recovery.

As far as I know, this is what I have been doing, but I will give it another go around and see what happens. Thanks for the reply
EDIT: That worked! Thanks very much for the tip, I was using the AIO tool and it would automatically reboot on its own without trying to take it to recovery. This would be where I was going wrong.

[Completed] [Q] I can't boot after installing CWM Recovery (stuck)

Hi, I was planning on installing a custom rom on my Samsung Galaxy Core GT-i8262.
So I installed CWM Recovery and it was sort of a success, Odin is already in green with the "PASS" keyword. I quickly wiped and factory reset as I'm following a guide that told me to do so.
After that wipe, I disconnected my phone and turned it off manually. Now a normal boot (holding only the power button) shows a yellow triangle and boots back to CWM recovery and not my first rom.
I tried going back to download mode but the yellow triangle error interrupts.
I hope someone takes time to help with this boot situation.
Sincerely, a newbie asking solutions from the professionals, XDA
Thanks!
Will I be taking a risk?
As the yellow triangle keeps me from going back to normal boot, download mode, recovery mode and redirects me to CWM Recovery, I was fiddling around (I'm not supposed to do so as I have minimal experience but I'm desperate.) and saw " mount sd" and "install zip" I was wondering if this is a fix by connecting my phone to the pc and mounting sd and transferring the .zip custom rom file and installing it?
I'm worried about the yellow triangle interfering and might permanently brick my phone.
Again, seeking for professional help. Thanks!

[Q] 915FY Stuck Not Booting

Hi All,
I have a Note Edge 915FY. Tried to upgrade it to stock 5.0.1 via sammobile.com
It is now stuck. It just shows the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge screen and then flashes to "Recovery Booting" and just stays stuck there! For hours!
I have also tried to download 4.4.4 from sammobile.com and flash that but same thing happens. I cannot go into recovery, only into download mode.
I also tried to root it using CF-Autoroot but that failed.
Furthermore, I have tried flashing CWM and TWRP but both do nothing.
I am absolutely stuck! And I really need help!
PS: The phone has no warranty now, so I have no fallback! Please HELP!!!!!
I didn't have any luck flashing CF-AutoRoot when I was on Lollipop, I used CWM and it worked fine.
If your'e stuck go into ODIN mode (Power, Home + Down Vol) and then click up when prompted,
make sure your pc has samsung drivers installed
Download the stock 5.0.1 BOC2 ROM from this XDA page
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/development/rom-stock-tw-lollipop-t3019721
(You can easily up to BOC6 or a hacked rom later)
Make sure to set Odin as shown in the picture from that same url above
http://dl-1.va.us.xda-developers.com/3/1/4/6/2/6/9/odin.PNG?key=DHp6BTdAsBVpoENIbV4DMw&ts=1431888807
This should work without any issues, I spent some cycles getting bootloops via cf-auto root and some funny ROM behaviour, I was always able to
use this to get me back to stock, root using cwm method then deploy whichever debloated rom you like !

Did you solve?
Try this (It works for me when my Note Edge was bricked):
On samsung kies 3 select "Tools --> Firmware Upgrade and Initialization" and follow the instructions.
It will ask for phone model (SM-N915FY or other) and for Serial Number S/N, this number is indicated under the battery (make attention to insert the number near S/N not near SSN).
After this It will ask to connect the phone in Download Mode and after it will start to download the firmware (more than 1GB) and will start the installation.
Boot into recovery , power + button + sound UP and clear cache and all reset.
Re do lollipop and you should be fine.
Happened to me but i worked it out after the panic stage....

I have tried this but weird enough for me, after I input the model number followed by the S/N number in Kies, I got a message "Initialization is not supported for SM-N915FY"
Its kind of fishy since the S/N input only appears after I gave Kies the Model number. If N915FY was not supported, why would they make me open up the back cover and look up for the S/N, make me type it letter by letter and then tell me 'Ok, no luck for you!'.
Any explanation and/or solution for me please? I only have 14 days of extensive researching experience, still left with a 'baseband unknown and null imei" note edge with no prior efs backup .
I think we got the same problems bro, i was very proud note edge user till two days a go, when sudden problems start to happen like restart, slowdown, loop, freeze and shoot of, later no more reboot from system menu that it just shoots of, and then latter hard to start, i had to take out battery and push start + home + volume down buttons about one minute and put back battery just to bring in to download mode and then volume down to start the in to system, and after screen is off it shots down again and again, and last time i put in to freeze to start it to see any missed calls or messages, but sens last night no way i can start any more!
I used to update apps from google and samsung store, and i em curious at this latest update, overnight was lot of data use, even in settings it was setup not to sync any data and not to use any data in background, only Viber app, so i assume there most have been sent to our phones some malware update to brick our old lovely phones, it is very possible.
Now, all i can do is to go to market to find broken screen note edge to purchase and replace motherboard, and i hope i find one not sim-locked.
So try to use Odin v3.07, and download the firmware from here https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-note-edge/firmware/#SM-N915FY ans flash it, hope you get back your phone, and if you need to root it, use TWRP v3.02.tar flash with odin to...so the rest of procedure i guess you know!
Today i found on local phone shop+ service one note edge with a bit broken screen, but it did start and stack on kind of "recovery booting", i realized the service or the owner did try to flash sort of room on it but not completed, i bought the phone sm-n915FY model for 30.euro, and now i just transferred the motherboard to my own phone and flashed the TWRP v3.02.tar successfully and let it charge first, bcz there was only 05% battery, and later i will see if i can restore the twrp backup, and i will be careful with this update apps from google and Samsung store the gmail, androidwebsecurity**, maps and browser.
Well, my phone works now, it's just the TWRP backup is not working correct, even i modified folder of the backup, i had pssword in backup and now when i restore seek pasword, i type correct, but the phone did encrypt it. so i have to start with new room setup.

[Completed] Sprint S6 Edge looping on boot screen and constant beep

Prior today, I have had my Sprint S6 edge running Ping Pong root since it became available. Today, I decided I wanted to go back to stock and unroot. I followed tutorial after tutorial. I have flashed the stock ROM using ODIN. No matter what I flash using ODIN, it continually boot loops and beeps. I've been dealing with this for several hours. Of the tutorials I've tried, I've flashed using ODIN the following:
G925PVPU2BOF7_G925PSPT2BOF7_SPR
SPR-G925PVPU1AOCF-20150415164450
G925P_Stock_Recovery_ZiDroid.com.tar
boot-of7root
After flashing one, it just stays on the splash screen and boot loops with a beep. Every single time. I don't care if I lose root, I just want my phone to boot up.

ZTE Axon7 HELP! [TWRP problems??]

Hey guys,
Longtime lurker but first time encountering a problem and needing to register.
I've previously ran a nethunter build on an old Nexus 6 which went fine. Now I've picked up the ZTE Axon7 as I needed a new phone.
I followed this thread: HERE
I successfully was able to follow along and get TWRP as my bootloader.
I then followed the instructions to go HERE to grab the Axon7 img file and tried the "TWRP Install" method (install the image to recovery and flash it)
Now upon reboot, I get the ZTE logo (the red dot shows up at the same time like a normal boot) then the log and dot disappear with the red dot then doing one quick flash afterwards. From there the device is just off. Even if I try doing a reboot to the bootloader via power + VolUp the same thing happens. Essentially I think this means the entire bootloader from twrp is now gone??? Plugging into my PC I still get the sound of a device connecting but it is not seen in Windows. HOWEVER while the device is connected to my PC I AM still able to see the Qualcomm port in my Device Manager.
Is there any way to go back to having an OS????? Even my backups I made??? It just seems like there isn't even the bootloader anymore and I just don't know what to do :crying:
If someone could PLEASE help it would mean the world to me!
Did you ever get this resolved?

First, TWRP is a custom recovery, not a bootloader.
Second, it seems to me that your device has a locked bootloader, you have to have an UNLOCKED bootloader to flash TWRP, flashing TWRP without unlocking bootloader brocks devices. You need to restore your stock firmware.
What exactly does device manager label your device as when you connect to PC?

Yes, DrakenFX helped me out. Ended up being a long complicated process that I couldn't really rewrite here if I tried.
