Just to let people know,
I got the z3 3 days ago and the back glass is loose on the top left side. It's the same problem that a lot of people had on the first Xperia z.
Picture is from a Xperia z but the same problem.

Picture or it didnt happen. (Xperia Z3 that is).
That picture also looks like tiny damage to corner of the glass.. Maybe someone prying it.open with a pin?

That was defiantly a problem on the old xperia Z. I had 2 and happened to both. That phone got pretty hot and is apparently how it happened.
I haven't noticed my Z3 get hot really though.
I was looking at the way the back glass is and I hope this doesn't happen on this phone as well.

Mine came like that out of the box so could be that it's a manufacturing mistake.
Phone doesn't get hot so hope it's not the same issue the Xperia z had.

If it came out the box messed up I would say yeah you got a phone that got messed up along the manufacturing process. Whoever you bought it from should replace it

Yeah i know. Went to the store yesterday and have the choice to get a new Z3 or the Note 4 but knowing the Xperia z had this issue i don't know what to do lol.
So thought let's see if more people have this issue or that it's just a manufacturing mistake.

Back glass lifted on Xperia Z3
I have the exact same problem with my Xperia Z3, the back glass has become un-stuck predominately on the top left corner of the screen, around the camera. It sucks, as this phone is a replacement for my original Xperia Z3 compact which had the problem of the common hairline single crack across on the back glass. Not much luck with these Xperia phones.

To be honest I'm not surprised. Leave your phone in your bag and carry a tiny little handset when you don't need the screen. Good idea - wonder if it is coming to the UK.

Ther's no reason why they won't selling it in UK.
that charging dock looks pretty nice
Magnetic? How do you eat that and how it differs from the standard dock.
Magnets? How do they work??
Sent from my Nexus 7™
Will be Xperia Z compatible, seems only XZ Ultra ???
Only xz ultra, magnetic dock is compatible with.
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk 2
XZ ultra uses something similar to the apple magnetic connector so no, unfortunately this dock won't be compatible with XZ.
Anyone know if the dock is charge only or can you transfer data with it too? It looks to be only for charging as far as I can tell.

It's not for the XZ and it's only to charge a phone.
Why is it that its too hard for them to make a universal charging dock. Thats why its not feasible to buy their docks. If they can make compatible to all their phones. Im sure they have a good profit here.

Im still awaiting a case/protection for my nexus 5, and until i have some protection for it its not yet my main phone, however ive been using it at home, and ive just noticed a mark under the screen, which could be a dead pixel or dust

outlined in red ( phots not that great but you can see the mark that doesn't move regardless of whats on screen) - highly irritating now i know its there, my eyes are drawn to it. would this be a RMA job?
Yeah, its kind of tough when it's near the middle of the screen like that. It really depends on how much it bothers you. Mine just came in the mail an hour ago and after playing around a little, noticed 1 small dead pixel on bottom right of screen. It's kind of gray, not black. But I'm not really noticing it, I have to really look for it and even then it's hard to see. My phone is otherwise perfect - no vibration issues, power button is solid, etc. I think I'll just keep it.

Yeah I would rma it. That would do definitely bother me.

I have a speck of something in almost exactly the same place. RMA won't be shipped until December 3. Hope the replacement doesn't have this issue.

its a dead pixel, mate
Its dead pixels. I had two of this massive dead pixels on my iphone 5 and the apple genius guys replaced it with a new one.
You should definately RMA it and get it replaced. I was planning to buy a nexus 5 myself but have been getting negative feedback on the speaker quality and the dead pixels issue hence I think I will either wait for the LG G2 Mini or something else.

Not sure if any of you have experienced this, but there seems to be a scratch or damage on the backside of the glass, letting light through... Kinda looks like a notification light, but infact its the backlight from the LCD shining through......
Anyone else have this on the bottom of the phone ??
I do have the same problem right at the same spot! :cyclops:
I do not appear to have this on mine... Black Z3 on EE

Interesting. I think I'm taking mine back.. Not a good defect at all.
Mine also has damage to the satin finish coating. Must have been thrown around in shipping..
Thank God! Finally...I've been searching all over the web for this issue. XDA to the rescue..Yay!. I am also facing the same issue. It's only been 3 days since I purchased it for a whooping $820 and now this darn bright dot seems to appear at the right end bottom part of the screen. I am planning to take it back to the service centre but I am doubtful whether they will replace the phone or not. BTW I stay in India and my model is the Z3 black D6653. Guys facing the similar issue, please post your model number also so that we can isolate the family of Z3s that are defective as this doesn't seem to happen with other models of Z3 like D6603, D6643, D6616.
Guys, I need a small update before I start wasting my time trying to get it replaced. Did anyone of you get a replacement? Not the refurbished one but a new phone. In India, most of the people applying for a replacement are getting a refurbished piece instead of a new phone. I might as well live with this small blemish instead of using a second hand device.
I can't imagine that any refurbished phones are available as Z3 replacements already

Definitely a defective device. They should swap it out for a brand new one, most companies only provide refurbished devices as replacements when they have gone EOL.
Yes that's what the guys at the service center are saying. It seems that I need to wait for 15-20 days before the replacement arrives. Also I noticed that the camera quality is not as good as in the Z2. even the Xiaomi MI3 outperformed Z3 in superior auto mode.
I have replaced a broken screen on a Nexus 5 that I have purchased, and it's fine apart from a very noisy/grainy front facing camera. Is this normal? Or do I need to re-attach camera again or replace it? I am running stock firmware (lollipop)
Any help on this would be appreciated!
Thanks :good:
Bump....
Mind to upload an example?
who replaced your screen btw?
Yes I will take a screenshot and upload. I replaced the screen
Sounds like the camera, or back of screen may be grubby, but as above says screenshot plse

Well it's not grubby on the screen, it's noisy across the whole image, so it makes me think its an electronic issue rather than visual.
TBH I blew them up to full size and it looks OK. Noise as you know shows more in low light. If it was not an OEM replacement could be poor glass. Try another camera app to see if it's software. I'd go with poor glass, which you are stuck with. Where did you get it?

That is the stock camera app, haven't got anything else installed on it at the moment. I bought it from seller on aliexpress.
So you think it's the glass rather than a camera issue?
Thanks
Yes. You changed it and this happens. I meant try another camera app, but I'd say 99.99% it's the glass
Sent from my Nexus 5
Thanks for that. Well that's pretty frustrating, I guess I will have to live with it, I'm tempted to take it apart and see how it is without the glass.
Anyone have this problems on white screens ?

When I first bought the XZ, I received 2 different brand new copies that had this issue - here's the worst one.
Fortunately I had good return policies, so I sent them back and finally 3rd time's a charm I got a perfect one.

a little yellow tint started to appear in my XZ on the bottom left corner... barely visible... and yesterday i noticed a light bleed on black background a little above the power button, and almost in the same surface another yellow tint, and both barely visible....
it's so weird... because they weren't present, and i don't know for what reason that appeared...
i think im going to sell it, and search for another one without defect.... i bought without warranty
