[Completed] [Q] I need help with my recently rooted SG SII - XDA Assist

Hello, I'm sorry beforehand if I'm not posting this in the right area, but I am kind of in a hurry and need this problem fixed ASAP. So here is the story:
My phone was running slow and the battery would drain out like crazy, so I read through a few forums here and there and decided I would FACTORY RESET my phone. Now might I mention, my phone was previously rooted by using a method from galaxyroots2 ( I picked the one for GT-I9100 ). I had ROOTED IT TWICE before. Both times work flawlessly. Now this time, for some very odd reason, my phone is stuck on a Screen which displays "Samsung GALAXY S II GT-I9100" with a little YELLOW TRIANGLE at the bottom. I pulled out the battery a few times but to no avail. Now I Am able to access DOWNLOAD MODE, but I cannot access the other mode where you hold the VOL button up rather than down. I'm kinda out of ideas, I figured this would take me 5 minutes like the last time. The KERNEL is a JEEBOO Kernel, I used Odin v1.85. I haven't performed any updates since it has been rooted.
NOW MY QUESTION IS : HOW CAN I GET PAST THE SCREEN WITH THE YELLOW TRIANGLE? and please dumb down things as much as possible. I'm not the greatest when it comes to these sort of things.

Hi,
You need to ask this in the Galaxy S2's help section. Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help
Good luck with your device!

Thank you.

Need help from all the smart devs

Guys I have a big problem. I just bought a galaxy tab 2 10.1. I rooted and than I installed Rom manager. And I used Rom manager to update the CWM. When I did that it asked me what device I have, and by mistake I choose galaxy tab 10.1 (the first one) and after reboot the tab is not turning on anymore. Can't go in recovery or download mode. I tried everything.
Its weird because Its just a recovery not a kernel or a Rom. Please any ideas?
The main question here is : how can I go to download mode without a button combinaton . Or how can I rewrite the bootloader or recovery.
Thanks

Okey, this seems to be bad. The regular answer would be: take it to a service and get it looked at.
The long answer involves a few questions first:
1. Is your tab charged?
2. What can you see when you plug it into a charger?
3. Does the screen light up when you power it up?
4. Do you get to see the "Galaxy Tab 2" logo after powering on?
Also, please describe EXACTLY what you did and what HAPPENED. It is very important to go into as much detail as possible (did the tab reboot and when, did you get any errors, how did you flash etc.)
Cheers,
C.
It probably is charged.. When I plug the charger the screen shows nothing but if I leave it with the charger plugged in for some time I can feel the back cover being warm so I presume its charging. When I power on the screen backlight does not activate.
When I plug the usb into computer I just hear the sound that windows make for " new device detected" and an instant later the sound for " device disconected of unrecognized". I checked the device manager when I plug it in and it just shows TIOMAP 4460 for half a second, the cpu code nr.
What I did is exactly what I said..after I installed Rom manager I just thought its a good idea to update cwm and I used the option in Rom manager to do that. When the app asked me what device i have I selected galaxy tab 10.1" . In dont know why I did it...I have android devices since 2 years ago and I tinker with them, I usually know what I'm doing. Anyways, the app downloaded the recovery and rebooted. And that's where I am now. A dead tablet. Thanks for trying to help.
The thing is I bought the tab from Costco and I initially bought the 7" and by mistake the salesman gave me the 10" ... So I don't really want to take it back yet because I will and up with a 7". And I love this one Already.

Questions should be asked in Q&A forums, not development forums.
Thread moved.
I would say it is completely broken. You installed a different recovery which on another device is located differently than on this tablet, so basically you wrote over something that was necessary for the tablet to boot. Your only option is to take it back.
Screen not turning on is a bad sign.
The second tab generation has separate recovery images, so what you did has little chances of bricking the device. To test this, I have intentionally flashed the recovery of the 1st generation 10.1 tab using ODIN. Flashed fine, recovery didn't work anymore, but I was still able to reach download mode and flash a proper recovery.
So, try to charge up your tab for a few hours (maybe over night) using a power outlet, and try again tomorrow. If the screen still does not turn on (i.e. receive power - should lighten up just a bit, not turn all white) then my opinion is that you have a hardware failure.
I encountered a similar problem with my P1000 in the past, so just be patient. In the end, if it doesn't turn on, think about it this way: a smaller tablet is better than no tablet, right?

Pay Costco the difference and then return it to Samsung for repairs.
I should I pay Costco anyhing ? I can just take it to Samsung myself... The problem is that I'm a seaman sailing in Alaska...not to many Samsung service centers here. Well I still have 8 days untill I reach the town where Costco is so if I can't fix it untill then I'm just gonna take it back and hope they give me a new one (7" or 10.1" doesn't matter).
Thanks for all the replies guys.

After you get your new tab or repaire this one get rid of rom mngr. This program causes more problems than what it's worth.

Ok i returned the tablet and got a full refund.
What should i get now? Wal mart sells the GT 10.1 first model at 300$... and i think this one is better than the tab 2.... advice please

Tab 2 is better, having original before Tab 2 is quicker , sound quality is much better with front facing speakers . No camera flash? No big deal, its a Tablet not a camera. External SD is better than no ext SD.

[Q] Yet another "bricked" or "stuck in ODIN mode" thread! :(

First of all, I want to thank you all for this wonderful webpage/forum - it's very unusual to see such a 'friendly' forum and how willing people are to spend a great amount of time helping others out.
But to my problem, I tried to install Ubuntu tablet OS on Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 (GT-N8010) as it seemed no problem at all. But ever since then I've been stuck in this damn ODIN mode (download mode) - and to be honest I believe I have read and followed the instructions in every single "help thread" about this or similar issue, but however there seems to be NO way I can get my tablet to work normally again.
The device charges perfectly normally, KIES detects it, but it however doesn't seem to be able to recognize what "kind" of device this is. ODIN also (of course :silly: ) detects it, but no matter what help/tutorial/guide I've followed, nothing has worked to fix this. The only screen I can get can be seen on attached picture no. 1. I'm unable to enter recovery mode, but the screen I get when trying to boot to recovery mode can be seen on attached picture no. 2 - which is basically the same as on pic. no. 1, except for these beautiful gray bands/streaks I get all over the screen. No matter what I try, it won't enter recovery mode.
I've gone through this process both on Win 7 and Mac OS X (using Heimdall, Odin and all this stuff - flashing CWM, etc etc, to the tablet). I've even removed the battery twice with no observable success However I sometimes get the message in Odin that everything went all right, as in "passed", but this just keeps the same.
I've, as mentioned before, gone through all the help articles/threads about this or similar issue I can find here, through google and MUCH more so this is my final attempt to recover (or fix) my note 10.1 by asking you guys for help. Does anyone of you sweet sweet guys/girls have ANY idea about what I could do to fix this problem, or is it just hammer time?
Thank you SO much for reading, and ANY advice is appreciated and warmly welcome! And also thanks to all of you for the great knowledge you share in many other posts, I love browsing the forum here!
Kindest regards,
August
And yea, sorry for the bad picture quality, the darn iPad refused to take better shots - or, which is much more likely, I'm a horrible photographer :fingers-crossed:

Kyocera Hydro XTRM- Hard Bricked- Will not boot to recovery!!! Please help!!

Okay so I've been looking for a LONG TIME trying to find a solution to this problem, but have yet to find one, so if this thread is a duplicate issue, please move it to where it needs to be.
I have a Metro PCS Kyocera Hydro XTRM. I rooted the phone and it was fine. I will be the first one to tell you i am a major newbie when it comes to smartphone tweaking. I have been playing with electronics for years, and can pretty much build a desktop computer but newbie when it comes to android devices. So upon suggestion from a dev, I downloaded an app from the play store "BootUnlocker."
As Soon as I rebooted my phone, BAM! It gets stuck on the METRO PCS screen and stays there. I have pretty much tried everything I can think of. I have removed the battery a billion times and tried to hard reset the phone numerous times as well. And now, it won't even turn on but the LED power light on the front flashes when it's plugged in. I was thinking of trying Odin but when I plug the phone into the computer's USB port....it does absolutely nothing...doesn't read a thing.
I am hoping someone will be able to help with this soon as I would really like to know how to go about recovery on a phone that is completely Hard Bricked (as mine is now). If anyone has any suggestions, or has recovered a hard bricked xtrm, I would be so very thankful for your input.
Hi there! I'm afraid XDA doesn't have any information on that device that I can find. So....you can ask in our general Q&A section. I will ask a moderator to move your post there.
This is where it will go....

The only other suggestion I can give is to try searching the web for info on your device.
Hope you get it worked out!
never mind

[Completed] [Q] Samsung Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102 Unresponsive touch screen

Recently i got myself my first smarthphone (yay!) it wasn't a very good one though GT-S6102: 290 MB ram and pretty small and can barely do anything. I always kept off from the Rooting stuff and getting other roms stuff since i was scared of messing up but after a while i got really curious (and bored) and decided to root my phone - success!. No issues, nothing. Then i decided to install a new rom to see how much of a performance boost it can give you, but... there the problems started... i turned on my phone - everything went fine but when i tried to click on the android dude that shows up when you turn your phone on for the first time - nothing happened... I thought, okay. Maybe it's just a bad ROM or something, so i removed the Battery to turn the phone off and installed another ROM - same results. I was starting to get scared because i knew that i have no warranty anymore because of the root. I installed quite a few different ROMs - same results. I started googling the problem but couldn't find much and i decided to get my old ROM back - i used something called Odin for that and yeah! i successfully got back my good 'ol rom, yet the touchscreen remains unresponsive. So my question is - is this even fixable? Or did i screw my phone in just 5 days? I really hope that there is a fix to that.
Also if replying i would recommend to explain it on a noob level because i'm pretty bad with these things as i'm new to them.
Thank you in advance!
Hi,
There is a chance you can get yourself up and running but it is possible that some hardware got borked
But this doesn't always mean you can't send it in for warranty, to find out more it is best to ask your question in a thread dedicated to your device, you will find a great q&a thread here

Best of luck!

[Completed] Help getting Hard-Bricked phone booted to usable state

Hi Folks
Thanks for the time at visiting this thread, and I'm offering 2 beers as a part of my appreciation, should someone be able to help me getting the phone to a state, where a system can be flashed.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini (GT-I8190), which is now in a hard-bricked state, where the only gasp of life, is the notorious drill from the vibrator, as the phone seems to try and start-up, every 2 seconds. No Screen, light, or anything else.
The story behind is, that while having stock android, it started to spontaneously restart and go into a boot loop, until attached to a charger.
First every 7 days, then 3 days, then once a day, before it was several times a day.
I decided to root it, and install CM 11, and that wasn't without it's quirks, but flashed it became.
I noticed that the problem was still there, and there where some apps force closing all the repeatedly, so I went into TWRP that was flashed together with CM 11, and wiped data, and did a complete system factory setting.
I pushed the reboot to system button, and the next thing I remember, is that it vibrates, and nothing more, which is what it does every 2 second. When I leave it discharged for a while, and try to turn it on the first time, then it sounds like it "tries" the best, as there are 4 seconds between the vibrations, and then it goes as usual....
I suspect that I have manage to damage the boot loader somehow, and it can't either go in download mode, nor system "aka" Hard Bricked.
I have been looking around at the site, and have seen guides for other phones, where the boot loader is put on an micro SD card, and then revived that way.
Any help/method to get this phone into a usable state is widely appreciated, and once again, thanks for taking your time to read this!
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. A quick search of XDA has found your device section here:
Samsung Galaxy S III Mini
That's the best place for you to start, all relevant information for your device can be found there. There's even a dedicated Q&A sub-forum for your device there as well:
Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
So if your search in your device section doesn't prove to be fruitful that's the best place to ask your question as it will be seen by people who own the same device and therefore have experience with it. Please note that in order to post in that section you will need to create an XDA acount.
Good luck with your phone!
