First of all, I want to thank you all for this wonderful webpage/forum - it's very unusual to see such a 'friendly' forum and how willing people are to spend a great amount of time helping others out.
But to my problem, I tried to install Ubuntu tablet OS on Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 (GT-N8010) as it seemed no problem at all. But ever since then I've been stuck in this damn ODIN mode (download mode) - and to be honest I believe I have read and followed the instructions in every single "help thread" about this or similar issue, but however there seems to be NO way I can get my tablet to work normally again.
The device charges perfectly normally, KIES detects it, but it however doesn't seem to be able to recognize what "kind" of device this is. ODIN also (of course :silly: ) detects it, but no matter what help/tutorial/guide I've followed, nothing has worked to fix this. The only screen I can get can be seen on attached picture no. 1. I'm unable to enter recovery mode, but the screen I get when trying to boot to recovery mode can be seen on attached picture no. 2 - which is basically the same as on pic. no. 1, except for these beautiful gray bands/streaks I get all over the screen. No matter what I try, it won't enter recovery mode.
I've gone through this process both on Win 7 and Mac OS X (using Heimdall, Odin and all this stuff - flashing CWM, etc etc, to the tablet). I've even removed the battery twice with no observable success However I sometimes get the message in Odin that everything went all right, as in "passed", but this just keeps the same.
I've, as mentioned before, gone through all the help articles/threads about this or similar issue I can find here, through google and MUCH more so this is my final attempt to recover (or fix) my note 10.1 by asking you guys for help. Does anyone of you sweet sweet guys/girls have ANY idea about what I could do to fix this problem, or is it just hammer time?
Thank you SO much for reading, and ANY advice is appreciated and warmly welcome! And also thanks to all of you for the great knowledge you share in many other posts, I love browsing the forum here!
Kindest regards,
August
And yea, sorry for the bad picture quality, the darn iPad refused to take better shots - or, which is much more likely, I'm a horrible photographer :fingers-crossed:

Hello, I am completely new to this and have completely messed up my SGS. I don't know if this has already been answered but I am desperate for any kind of help.
I learned about the entire Darky-ROM thing yesterday and have been working on making my SGS as cool as this. But I think I may have bricked it.
Everything worked fine until the last moment where I downloaded an Lag-fix called 'One-click lag fix' - it said installed successfully and it then rebooted the phone. The phone has now been stuck on the loading screen ever since.
I have a SGS where I cannot get into the download mode or Recovery mode using the physical buttons. To install Darky9.5 I had to enter the modes through various apps on the market. I don't know what to do as I cannot enter those modes to reinstall anything without the phone working properly.
I am pleading for anyone to help as I need my phone and really regret getting involved with this and wish I had just stayed with my 'stock' mode phone.
Please help if you can.
Try making a jig like this person did, it might be the only way unless other people know anything..

Last week I rooted my primary phone, a Samsung Admire with Gingerbread 2.3.4. This was done only after successfully rooting my older LG Optimus T running Fryo. I had no trouble with either phone during the process. However, as of 2 days ago the Admire has had some troubles, namely that the phone function crashes when I press the send key. I get the error message stating “Sorry! The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.” It will receive incoming calls but they cannot be answered and when I try, it crashes
I’ve spent much of the time since researching the problem to find the cause and it’s fix. In doing d\so I have read of multiple causes from screen resolution changes to attempted over clocking, which I have played with. I’ve read that there might be problems with the phones attempting to switch from 2g to 3g too rapidly, something this phone cannot do I believe.
I came to the conclusion, probably erroneously, that I needed to reset it back to factory and then reinstall apps and data out of the backup I made using Titanium Backup prior to the phones troubles. So I did so, doing the three button cocktail I’ve read about here on XDA Forums. After doing this, the problem persists. I’ve read some more becoming more baffled as I went along. So I tried to reroot the phone using one click root, and that was unsuccessful as well, no root. I then read that all I needed to do was to install Superuser from the Market. In attempting this I found my device was no longer recognized by Market and after going through their troubleshooting process it’s still unrecognized, Next I decided, also most likely erroneously to reset the phone again using the three button combo as before. This time I noticed at the bottom of the screen written in yellow, E: File is written: not updated
Also as a side note my phone currently says that there are 133MB available and after the reset(s) my bloat ware has not returned,
So that’s it. I seem to have deleted something that kills the phone app and prevents me from rooting. Other than those two things the phone is working well. However as it sits it’s merely a small Internet tablet with no phone capability. Can anyone help me out with this? And yes, I have read and read and read about it but clearly this is beyond my ability to fix on my own.
Thanks,
Zeke
Hey, my skill level ranges between beginner and intermediate, but honestly in a situation like that I would odin back to stock. I have an epic 4g, so I have no idea what your download mode is or if you have one or if you have to use quick boot or fast boot? Its one of those. If **** ever hits the fan on me (Thank god it hasn't yet) I would odin to an old stock rom and root it and install a recovery and wipe and flash a ROM. Good luck I hope I helped and didn't sound like too much of a scrub.

I will research this Odin you mention as I have no clue as to what it is. Thanks, anyone else care to chime in?

OK, My first attempt at messing with the firmware on an Android phone resulted in dismal failure and a dead phone..
Here's the scenario as events unfolded..
Bought an unlocked Galaxy S 4G
Trying to connect my phone to my PC resulted in dismal failure, wondered if it might be a dodgy firmware someone had installed.
*#2663# to update the TSP firmware. This just hung on the updating screen. Eventually the battery gave out. (Don't ask me why I was updating the Touch Screen Panel Firmware, I don't know.. I was fiddling. )
Recharged the battery and rebooted the phone.. Menu and Back buttons on touch pannel light but don't work.
Searched this forum and many others, seems to be a common problem but no clues as to how to resolve.
So I downloaded Odin 307 and the USB drivers, put phone in download mode, installed the following via Odin
CODE_T959VUVKG4_CL385158_REV00_user_low_noship.tar
SGH-T959V-CSC-TMB-VIBRANTP.tar
T959VUVKG4-Phone-CL1037720.tar
Worked fine, but didn't fix the issue with the TSP.
Somewhere I read that maybe it was partition corruption, so I decided to repartition. Ticked the "Repartition" box and used Hawk_Sidekick_VibrantPlus_831.pit (All four of these came as a package I found linked to on this site somewhere.) Odin said it was ok, but now I can't even power the phone on. Screen stays blank. Computer does not recognise USB device. Odin doesn't see it. It seems to be dead.
So.. Is there a rescue remedy from this scenario, or do I use this piece of glass and electronics to wedge my door open?
Please help I'm not going to pretend I knew what I was doing, but I'd like to unbrick this thing so I can at least make phone calls on it and send emails to people saying what a plonker I've been..
Thanks. :crying:
Do you have a T959V or T959 ?
Check under your battery.

T959V
No, I've not tried that. I'll give it a go.
The Heimdall One Click has saved my phone quite a few times, it's simple and effective! Let us know how it goes!

Ok, so I managed to get it into Download mode and reflashed it in Odin. I'm going to have a go with "oneclick" and see what happens, but at this point the only outstanding thing to fix is the TSP, which is still kaput. (Maybe one click will fix that) I've searched and searched on this forum, there's a whole bunch of dead threads where people have killed their TSP, and no resulting fixes posted. If anyone has any ideas, its would be great if you could post them, because at the moment, "menu" and "back" are still U/S.
Thanks for your help so far. If I get a solution, I'll post it here, I hate abandoned threads where people leech solutions to their probems and don't give feedback.
OK, So I tried this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23121150&postcount=12&nocache=1&z=6720291850525859
No luck..
Next thing to try is an older version of the O/S, apparently if I put on then it downgrades one of the firmware, and running the update again fixes the issue. (On can only hope.. Now I gotta go see if I can find an older version of the OS and try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21987511&postcount=9

Oh well.. On the plus side, I bought this little cheap phone to play around and learn on.. I seem to be doing just that. :cyclops:
So i've reached my wits end with this piece of junk, my patience has run out!
I've got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (SCH-i905) and the think just boots back to this black screen, with a green Android wearing a toolbelt, the onscreen keyboard, and a field labeled "Enter your password".... WHAT? WHAT PASSWORD?! WHY DO YOU HAVE A PASSWORD?!
This happened after apparently the device was left to perform an OTA update that didn't complete properly due to a bad charger, is our best guess anyway. I can put the thing into Download mode, I can communicate through Odin, I have TRIED and TRIED and TRIED AGAIN to restore the stock rom, i'm just trying to get this device working but I can't! im at the point where im ready to put my fist through it, this has been just too much of a pain in the ass
I've searched and search these forums and others, no one seems to have a solution for my issue, maybe I should just trash the thing as it appears to be unrecoverable.
Thoughts?

Hey..
Better head on to this thread as it contains a video guide to restore your tab 10.1 to stock..
cheers.
Hello, I'm sorry beforehand if I'm not posting this in the right area, but I am kind of in a hurry and need this problem fixed ASAP. So here is the story:
My phone was running slow and the battery would drain out like crazy, so I read through a few forums here and there and decided I would FACTORY RESET my phone. Now might I mention, my phone was previously rooted by using a method from galaxyroots2 ( I picked the one for GT-I9100 ). I had ROOTED IT TWICE before. Both times work flawlessly. Now this time, for some very odd reason, my phone is stuck on a Screen which displays "Samsung GALAXY S II GT-I9100" with a little YELLOW TRIANGLE at the bottom. I pulled out the battery a few times but to no avail. Now I Am able to access DOWNLOAD MODE, but I cannot access the other mode where you hold the VOL button up rather than down. I'm kinda out of ideas, I figured this would take me 5 minutes like the last time. The KERNEL is a JEEBOO Kernel, I used Odin v1.85. I haven't performed any updates since it has been rooted.
NOW MY QUESTION IS : HOW CAN I GET PAST THE SCREEN WITH THE YELLOW TRIANGLE? and please dumb down things as much as possible. I'm not the greatest when it comes to these sort of things.
Hi,
You need to ask this in the Galaxy S2's help section. Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help
Good luck with your device!
Thank you.
