I made a live wallpaper with portal in space "shooting" objects from it. It works on both phone and tablets (landscape and portrait) and it uses OpenGL. You can choose the objects to appear from the portal, set the portal rotation speed and amount of objects on screen. This is the first version, I'm gonna work more on this [college] project so please if you have an idea for object / option don't be shy

Maybe I'll add sharks in the next release I try to avoid living things because (as ridiculous as it sounds) living things don't seem realistic in this case (they are still images). If anyone has a request for an objcet / option to add I'll be delighted to hear you.
Nice

Well I'm considering adding some more settings. I would like to add "select image from phone" feature, but this will propably take lot of time for me to do it well. Thanks for feedback!

If you don't want to do something time consuming, maybe add some "small" options first. For instance "select rotation image" or "select background", that kind of things.

So it can still freeze if I select every object in the highest setting, you should put a warning not to select too much of "types" or something.

I've built this application: Wallpaper Changer v1.0
As the name says it changes the wallpaper manually or automatically, taking everytime a random jpg file from the local "My Pictures" folder of PPC.
Now I'd really like to have some feedback from those that are interested in order to develop it further.
So please leave me a message here if you want to have it.
Thanks
Would be interested in giving it a try if you upload it
Also just wondering but can you specify the frequency the wallpaper changes and also is there an option to set the order of the change?
Hi there.
You were very fast... thank you for your interest. Sure, you can set the change frequency. I don't understand what you mean by the order... but this order is random in this version.
Because I am new in this forum, please let me see how I can upload files here... or if you know how to do this...
Thanks.
Ok then...
So here it is... Wallpaper Changer v1.0
I upload it here and leave it open to everybody...
Any feedback is much appreciated.
Thank you.
Was there any need?
kevin2u Diamond Background Changer from Diamond 1 still works fine.
Appear to be great!
Nice app! Congrats man! Thanks for the tool!
But it's giving an error when I try to enter in "Change Now".
The details of the error:Wallpaperchanger.exe - DividedByZeroExcepection.
It would be great if I could use it!
Thanks a lot!
hmmm... its a great idea and seems it will be a great application, but it needs a little more work.
I have a HTC Touch Dual and its not working on mine...
How about:
- Not being only for HTC's? All ppc's can have a wallpaper image, right?
- Allowing the user to choose where to get the wallpapers from?
- Allowing the user to customize the time (X minutes/hours).
BTW, if you edit the first post this is the best way to share the app:

Thank you very much for your interest in my application. This error of yours is most probable because you don;t have any jpg files in the local "My Pictures" folder. I recommend to copy some there. Anyway I will consider this case and will fix it in the next release. I will also do so that the user has the chance to choose its own folder from which WPChanger to pick up images. Thanks... so be tune ... maybe for this weekend.

Sound Box
It reacts on a shaking and makes your phone act as a bell, drum, rattle, wind chimes and other such a stuff. It's a toy for fun. Some users noted that children also love it.
So shake your phone, have fun!
The goal
Actually the initial idea came from my friend. She said: it would be cool if you'll shake your phone and it will sound like a junk in a metal box or like a broken device. Totally broken. Later me and my friends came up with an invention to add a bell, maracas and more. When I started, the main goal was to make an app that authentically behave like a rattle, a bell, etc. I tried to get a realistic reaction to the phone shaking. Among other things, different sounds for different strength of shaking - just like real things. Hope I've succeeded.
Variations
There are two versions: lite and full. Lite version contains limited set of sound themes. For now there are small bell, darbuka and "digital" sound (simple sine harmonics). Full one is a set of about 20 sound themes. There are, in addition to lite ones, metal and bamboo wind chimes, maracas, rattlesnake, jingle bells, tin can with junk (yeah that junk from the initial idea) and much more. For now full version is paid.
Requirements
- Android 1.5+.
- No additional permissions required.
Notes
The application locks most of the buttons by default. You could switch it off: see Menu -> Settings for details!

Yeah, why not. Actually there was an idea to make it possible for users to create sound themes by themself and share it with anyone. Right now I finishing my first game. After it possibly I'll made it.
Anyway I'll try to record some nice guitar sound and add it to the existing set.
C'mon guys, just tell what you think! Is it good? Is it bad? Is it boring? Just anything... How do you think, what would be great to add/change here?
Well, ok...

Yeah, may be, I'm not sure (that somebody will shake the phone so far as to damage it). Anyways, it's not necessary to shake it too hard. There is a setting of the sensitivity in the application. But maybe you're right. Maybe I'll add a warning to the application's description. Just in case.

I have nothing against Commodore or its logo.
But I it's not called Commondore. It's Commodore.
And some advice, after trying the app:
It seems that the image quality of some of the logos are quite bad. Jagged edges, and maybe some jpeg compression artifacts.
As I see all the logos are in GIF. Forget the GIF format, unless you want animated images, but that's clearly not needed for this app. GIF does have transparency, but only 1 bit, that's why the edges are jagged.
Use PNG format instead. (Best if you can find the vector files of them, and render them into PNG)
And don't download the images into the internal memory. Put them on the sdcard instead. No reason for storing them internally.

Thanks for great tips.
I have noticed the lack of quality but didn't know everything you told me about. I'll do my best to get the images into better quality and will update the app asap storing the images to sd card.
Also I knew it was commodore but I had a little help with those.. Thanks again!
Pushing out update today with all data moved to the sdcard/external drive as suggested by TotalD3str4ct.
If anyone have any other suggestions it would be now good time since today I am running final debugging.

Hello there!
I've just uploaded my new wallpaper to Play Store and I would love to get some feedback. I've only had the chance to test it on a Galaxy S3 / S3 mini, Galaxy Note 2, HTC Desire and HTC One, so it would be nice to hear if it works on other models as well.
And of course whether you like it or not.
It uses your current location to calculate the sun's elevation which affects the colors of the sky, so at your local sunset it will start fading and likewise at sunrise.
The only weather effect so far is the wind (making the trees sway), but I'll be adding more in due time, as well as other things.
I'm also considering a name change since a lot of LWPs share that name...
Since I'm not allowed to post links and you're not going to find it by name, search for kaka.wallpaper.forest.
And if you like it, please give it a good rating.
Thank you!
EDIT: Still can't post links, but at least this is better than nothing.
You should probably include a link...
Since he has only one post he isn't allowed to post links in the forum .
Here's the link for the LWP ... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kaka.wallpaper.forest&hl=en

Only one small suggestion:
A "reset color" or "reset settings" would be nice somewhere.
Maybe a big question:
Do you mind sharing the source code for this?

If there's a high demand, I might eventually put it up on GitHub, but it'll have to wait I'm afraid.

Absolutely! It's already on my todo list. Except the "no wind at all", but sure, I can add that.
My ambition, in short, is that looking at the wallpaper should be a little like looking out the window.
It took its fair time, but now I've finally added rain.
I will probably fine tune it, but it looks decent.
If anyone notices a change in battery drain, do tell.
Rain is set to 0 % by default, so you'll need to go into weather settings and increase it or enable local weather to test it.

1. Are you talking about a lag in the animation or the loading of the list? I'm working on a different implementation for the list but I haven't seen any animation lag myself
2. That makes sense! I'll add it to my planned feature list maybe something like a longpress menu in the settings screen? with options to rename, view info etc.
Maybe it's just my phone. I'll try it on another fresh device as well as a fresh install on mine, and report back.
Thanks. Love the minimalism.

I'll stick to updating on the play store itself for now, but I'll drop a post every time an update is pushed
As I say that, I've pushed an update adding the ability to "rename apps" should be visible in 24 hours at the latest
Wonderful. When I get the update, I will test and report back
Also, how about the ability to "hide" apps from the list.
For people with plenty of apps, the scroll list could take awhile.
If this is implemented, it would be perfect for me.

Yes! That's one of the things that actually got me into making a minimalist launcher.
Very few minimalist launchers have that ability and the implementation is quite, for lack of a better word, wonky.
I've been working on a couple of different ways to do it. Should be ready in a week, hopefully
