Hey guys I figured I would throw a link to my new page I am starting up showing the boot animations I have done and you all can download them for free - all I ask is your register for free (if you haven't already , plus we got over 1000 wallpapers there as we speak for Android)
I will be updating this area frequently with new boot animations and focus on the ones people want to see - I will be making alternatives to Cyanogen and other great ROMS - I have already made a couple for new ROMS out for the DroidX that you might of seen already. If your a Rom maker and want a custom boot for your ROM shoot me an email through the "contact us" section of the site...
I am glad to give back to XDA with one of many ways I can - I am gradually getting my other team members from WJD Designs on board so we have different styles and more available at a lot quicker rate.

registering is free - it is just a way of saying thanks for making these boot animations - if you don't feel like registering and even commenting on my site - don't go but we do spend time making these things for the community and that is all I am asking

Lol whats the big deal with registering. I have no issues with it. I would loooove to see a custom one for me though.

This is the "Dream Theater" Majesty symbol. I would like to see a boot up screen with the symbol spinning. (The artwork is mine BTW)

I have heard of them I meant - great tunes - I do not keep up with them but do know of them - sorry lol but either way they are a rich sounding band yes

Nothing bad will happen when you register. It takes 2 seconds, its completely free, and it gives you access to tons media. We are adding more daily, and being able to download these directly from your device is super fast. Check it out man, you wont be sorry.

Registering is fine with me, and I understand why you would want people to do so, but not knowing what I'm getting into just makes me hesitant to do so. That's all.
I didn't want to get anyone worked up about it.

I experienced the complete opposite.
So the app is a really good idea, keep working.

Setting favorites and/or history would be great.
Ability to vote too!

History is coming in the next version. I also plan to integrate it with Share menu so that's it easier to use it.

Do you think it would be possible to make the look more like "Holo"? Or at least an inverted colors version so we get a black background?

I will try to improve the interface too.

What's new in this version:
Integrates with Share menu. Send the url straight from the browser.
The title always stays visible when scrolling the login list.
Clicking the title in the login list launches the browser.
Improved appearance a little bit for ICS users.
Minor bug fixes.

I released a new version yesterday which allows to switch between dark and light themes. Please give it a try and let me know how it looks.

New UI with a new version:

BugMeNot was cool years ago. Site owners have been using it to poison the well, so to speak, lately. I think they run a script that checks BugMeNot for accounts, and then removes them or bans them (or bans the IP of anyone who uses them -- I hit that once, wouldn't even let me sign up for an account since I came from the same IP as someone (myself) who tried to use the BugMeNot account). Somebody needs to reboot the service with a way to prevent the same thing from happening. Otherwise it's better to just make a throwaway account.

There are still many sites where bugmenot accounts work.

Simple Torch
This is a very simple app that just let's you turn your phone's flashlight on and off, so you can use it as a torch in the dark.
This app will not:
Share your grandma's birthday on Twitter
Claim to be a flashlight, but is just a white screen
Request every available permission
This app will do:
Load up super fast
Be a simple flashlight
Need only a single permission to access the flash
It does not look very fancy, because that would make it slower.
I made this app after i only found apps that wanted permission to read my mails, sms or similar - or needed years to load.
This is also my first app ever :good:

On startup you should see this and the flash should turn on as well.
The app should also be able to run in the background. Use the back button to shut the app down.
I wanted to put this on the google play store - but they want $25 and my credit card info... meh.

Starts fast.
Chance something on the ui because the looks can be better.

I've been using other app's for this, but they al took too long to boot up, and sometimes just shut down because i'd be opening ads …
Again, a nice interface would be nice, but not at the cost of boot time.

I thought about different things to make it look nicer but could not really think of anything that would work at the same speed.
e.g. a background image would still take time to load so that is out of question.
Tell me if you have any simple ideas to make it look better

Well, i thought about one thing …
When using the app in a dark environment, the white background can be blinding a bit, making it harder to see the actual light coming from the led.
Using a black background would give it more contrast.

Useful stuff.

I just found this and wanted to say thanks. I've tried a bunch of flashlight apps on my android, most were full of junk and/or didn't work.
This app works fine, doesn't do any BS in the background and has a small memory footprint - as an app like this should. Good job!
A black background and a bigger button would be better. I'll see if the code is easy to change.
EDIT: changing "Theme.Light" to "Theme.Black" in styles.xml and the button's width / height parameter in main_window.xml did the trick

I felt that all of the current Android unit conversion apps are ugly and many aren't powerful enough, so I decided to make one of my own with a Holo interface in mind. What makes this unit conversion app different?
Like I said before, I feel the user interface of an app is one of the most major components of an app. Even if an app works well, you shouldn't have to sacrifice on the looks or ease-of-use of an app. I made this app to target that, while implementing many features such as:
Saving your favorite conversion units
Adding new custom units
Tip Calculator
Multiple themes
Choice in decimal precision
Built-in calculator
I just released the app, so please let me know what you think and of any suggestions!

Yep, there was a small issue with them at first but I fixed it pretty quick! Let me know if you find anything else!

Just saw on xda portal am going to try this.

Buying Pro was a no-brainer.
Now I'd only like to get an option to get the favorites on opening the app. This way I have to click two times for them, whilst the goal of favorites would be to have a shortcut!

That would be great. Also, some more currencies would be great, if you have the time (I kind of miss SEK).
Great app though! and at 0.79€, very affordable!

Scrolling through the units is extremely laggy on my phone, other buttons work with instant feedback. Somehow the list is really heavy to render.

I prefer asking google now for unit conversion but this is very nice app

Nice and handy app. One little bug, I cannot input negative numbers on the From input. E.g., when converting from Fahrenheit to Celsius.

Looks very nice but I have two remarks.
On my SGS2 4.3" display, text is HUGE.
It would be nice to be able to select between few text sizes.
Nothing fancy, simple "Small, Medium, Large" selection.
You desperately need to implement reverse conversion.
If I choose meter as first unit and insert number "1", it works for Angstrom but cannot cope with AU.
You could implement simple swipe left or right to replace currently selected units
Also, question "Are you sure you wish to exit?" is unnecessary in my opinion.

Well I purchased it.
Will keep it but two issues so far.
The icon is ugly (will be nice to have something graphical)
The first conversion I tried was not accurate. There are exactly 12 inches to a foot so I selected convert feet to inches, selected 3 feet and it did not convert to exactly 36 inches.

Very nice app. I just have not been able to enter a negative number for conversion.
For instance, if I attempt to enter -40 for a F to C for temp conversion, the "-" symbol does not appear to register as having been selected for input, despite the fact that the keyboard shows it available and I have entered it.

[WLP][2.3+] Space Portal Live Wallpaper

I made a live wallpaper with portal in space "shooting" objects from it. It works on both phone and tablets (landscape and portrait) and it uses OpenGL. You can choose the objects to appear from the portal, set the portal rotation speed and amount of objects on screen. This is the first version, I'm gonna work more on this [college] project so please if you have an idea for object / option don't be shy

Maybe I'll add sharks in the next release I try to avoid living things because (as ridiculous as it sounds) living things don't seem realistic in this case (they are still images). If anyone has a request for an objcet / option to add I'll be delighted to hear you.

Well I'm considering adding some more settings. I would like to add "select image from phone" feature, but this will propably take lot of time for me to do it well. Thanks for feedback!

If you don't want to do something time consuming, maybe add some "small" options first. For instance "select rotation image" or "select background", that kind of things.

fyi the wallpaper freezed randomly when I returned to desktop from another app. It works again now, but stopped for some time.

Hi, I added a new version with portal type selection and more stuff! I also optimized the app, so it takes less space now. @korobczj if you can please check if the app can freeze like the last time (you owe me for the sharks :laugh: )

Haha SHARKS!!! lmao, I'm gonna check if it still frezees in the morning, but thanks for the sharks.

So it can still freeze if I select every object in the highest setting, you should put a warning not to select too much of "types" or something.
