Samsung H1 (GT-I8320) Porting

There recently some busy with this i know but in my eyes they don't work on it anymore.
Samsung H1 is a Linux LiMo phone.
A nice fone with not alot of apps 720p camcorder and 16GB intern memory.
But LiMo seems to be a death project...
What i wondering if some one of this site can port android for it.
Most of the users here porting android i know reason i ask it

Hopefully this can be a sucess, this phone deserves better than LiMo with Vdf 360.
Heard that at least the wifi is already ok.

Anyone tried compiling the kernel? I got 2 errors when it finished doing LC LD stuff. Didn't even know it had 16GB, what a waste!

Android on GT-I8320
It would be so great to see android running on this machine, i have a friend that just sold his phone because of this stupid LiMo. How come it's so hard to have a working version? Is it because of drivers? who are the responsible?

any news on this? such a good phone, basically an expensive paperweight as i'm using x10..

I just bought this wonderful phone with those awsome specs, even better than iphone 3g for 100$...
1 day of studying Limo OS and 360 service off, I love this phone... But there are some not good things about this OS (wi-fi internet loading big pages always crashes, not working GPS becouse only 360 users can do it..). Google'd, and found that people from China, Portugal, Poland Spain, have transported Android OS v2.2 froyo to this phone, but there are not working camera, UI sensor and other things...
Looking forward to next release of H1Droid. Just read chinese forum, and found that they already have H1droid 0.4 version in those days.
Want android system so badly...

It is! But it is too soon to port to android 2.3! We have to finish first the work on android 2.2!

[Q] Mass Sms with

Hello, I was searching around for the answer but couldn't find it so here I go.
I got a HTC Desire running Android 4.0.3 (The version where the camera "works")
Core version: [email protected]))
Build: ev_bravo-eng 4.0.3 IML74K.eng
Now there are probably many things around this build that isnt done yet BUT the other 4.0.3 builds have had the same issue.
When you want to send out text messages to several people I cant seem to find the button where I can choose from my contacts?
I am able to search for contacs or write theyr names in the "to" section but under no circumstances will my contact list appear.
I know there are applications to download like "goSMS" or "HandcentSMS" but I am picky and I dont like those.
Is there a way to fix this or is this a part of the "under development" stage for 4.0.3?
Other then that I must say that the latest 4.0.3 build is highly unstable and the version without camera was much more stable, but this is going to become a great OS and you guys are doing some great piece of artwork.

Was this a tricky one or is it just me not seeing the "button"?

Vanilla Android doesn't have a bulk sms feature. In fact it doesn't have half the functionality of what a ten year old Nokia would have.
I believe Sense ROMs allow it although i don't know about Touchwiz et al.

Though I am running CM9 (beta) atm and thought maby that would have been a feature CM9 had. Its not really an issue more or less just annoying on new years eve and such.

i have p500 for past one year and i want to grow my knowledge about smartphones , hardware, software , solid state electronic devices and of course usability! i am going to ask you some question about one of the revolutionary topic(telecommunication and integration of other devices in one smartphone circuits) of humankind! my topic is bit lengthy(and interesting for first time smartphone and android user) but hey devil in detail right!
part 1 - general
whats the main difference between hardware and software of a basic , feature and smartphone mobile! do 1 ghz of iphone processor equal to the computational power of 1 ghz desktop processor? why a feature phone browser have wap and pain to setup it than smartphone browser http! i know all the os and aps are made from programming language and framework,digital logic and circuits do different business companies just hire computer programmer to make living just to make things look and feel little different from one another(bada,android,windows,ios etc). ?
part 2 - future
how much upgrade p500 can take i have already checked rasheds jellybean rom(working but full with bugs) , do you think p500 can take all upcoming upgrade smoothly ? i know p500 have capability but not sure can his rom support upcoming android upgrade easily? can you really make a rom perfect for p500 like they work in high end phones?
part 3- applications
no one will spend extra money on a telecommunication devices if it cannot make him happy or play desire application! i need tts in hindi for android and a application of android which can translate english or other language pdf,,files,document etc to my own language(hindi) and then converted file can be read by tts in hindi?
i know smartphone is palm computer with some extra hardware attached to it (sensors,phone call,internet)! i have multiboot pc and not much problem installing uninstalling it! but for my smartphone i had to read and understand hundreds of thread and forums just to know root , flash and reinstall features! i had rooted, flashed , installed custom rom and then third and bricked my phone in a single day! now solved but for future troubleshoot want to know the difference between recovery image and baseband version ! do a kdz lg tool change the baseband and recovery,rom image simultaneously! i have now oxyzen 4.0 and v20d firmware and i heard there is v20e and further available so is there any benefit and safe wy to upgrade my firmware? i have also noticed that i need a recovery image or boot manager which can support all rom from different vendors and developers can this possible?

1. Difference between hardware and software:
Hardware is physical, for example the CPU or memory or whatever. Software means that files in the memory.
A 1 GHz+ phone‘s CPU is not the same as a PC‘s one. On the PC it have more voltage and so it is working faster.
2. Nobody knows until which android version our phone can run. The only soloution is to try that.
3. Recovery is installed on every Android smartphone and tablet. In recovery mode you can wipe data, flash new ROMs or even flash another recoveries. But if you want to flash something, it must end with .zip
You need the baseband to call, send sms or whatever what needs your sim-card. Without the baseband (like when you did something wrong while installing new bb) you can not receive nor do calls, send sms or whatever.
You don‘t need to upgrade baseband to V20E! It‘s specified for other countrys, and you have the right baseband. So just ignore it.
NO YOU CAN NOT FLASH ROMS FROM OTHER DEVELOPERS! YOU‘LL BRICK YOUR PHONE!

[Q] [HELP]Lack of support for certain Baseband

Dear,
times because many users from different countries or continents themselves are devoid of using a Cyanogenmod? Stable ROM for S2+

Hi guys.
I bought my wife this nice shiny phone back then in July. It should have been a replacement for her broken iPhone 4. I have read the specs of it and from my point of view this phone should have fit to her requirements = Facebook (messenger), Skype, Browsing, occassional taking photos, 2D games like Pet Rescue Saga and similar. Nothing special, no 3D gaming, HD videos etc.
Unfortunately she was dissapointed after a day or two when several apps like Camera, Facebook, Chrome on the stock Android (I think it was 4.2.2) were crashing or lagging like a rubish piece of device. The RAM was BTW utilized almost 80-90% almost always. So I read this forums and decided to go for the Cyanogenmod (4.4.4.) 9 which run faster and the RAM utilization was much better than the stock. So I thought "YES", the problems are over. But unfortunately the problems with RAM/CPU load and app crash/lagging were recuring and she was disappointed again . Then I moved to the Cyanogen 11 and the problems were still there once in a while.
Can you PLEASE suggest a ROM which is maybe not the most recent one with tons of features, but is stable and simple apps like Facebook, Chrome and 2D games as mentioned are working relatively stable?

1. Ask her wisely..as the myths said one have used apple devices was hardly to move into other brands/OS, ask her she probably want a newer shiny models of iPhorn
2. For stability&ram management iOS was far more stable than other os.
3. Teach her well to use her android with advanced mode, eg kernel custom OCing&Io governor so she can set her new android deppends on her needs.
# CM was the good choices when you wish stablility, but try PAC as it has built-in performance control too
