Depends on battery capacity, charger output (nexus 5 charger gives 1.2A output).
What do you mean by 5?
USB 2.0.
Fast charging works perfectly on nexus 5. If you want to try it then some of them I can recommend.
Sony CP-AD2 USB 2.1 amp
ERD Mobile charger USB LP-27TC
Sony EP881 Quick Charger
Thread which shows nexus 5 fast charging works perfectly.

Actually I want to buy fast charger, so I recommend it to others. When someone will reply he can tell me whether one of these 3 charger is good or not?
Creating new thread do helps me but I was searching threads for fast charging. So I posted here.

Yes, I found that thread earlier and replied for help. But no one quoted me. So I again went on search for that thread and posted in 2-3 similar threads the same thing for help..
Leave this discussion now. I have to find out myself for fast charger.
I think moderator should close old threads? I found many.
I want a charger with longer wire than the one which comes in retail box. I was going through this Nokia AC-20 charger. Can someone tell me if that will be advisable to use with N5? The output of that charger is 750mAh, so I guess it will take some more time to charge which is fine with me. Should I go for it? Is there anyone who uses the AC-20 charger?

Personally I would go with wireless charger. I have the Google charger at my work desk and a different one at home I use as my nighttime dock.
Problem is that these chargers are not much available in India, moreover the prices are too high.

I don't use car chargers as I don't think they are safe! A simple crank of your engine causes the voltage to go up a lot... Even though the branded ones are totally safe, I prefer not to use them..
However, here is one which I'm eagerly waiting for... http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-air-dock
Why don't you just buy a longer 6ft+ USB cable and attach it to the charger?
The plugin part of the charger is the important part. The port is a standard microUSB cable so you can use whatever cable you want.

I was trying to use my old Nokia CA 101 which is a long cable than other but the charging time was way less than the stock one. Currently I'm using a Nokia AC 10E which belongs to my friend. This charges my phone really quick and comes with a long cable. But I have to return it this weekend. I tried looking for it in ebay India but unable to find 1.

@graffixnyc or anyone with both the OPPO and OnePlus One
Does the OPPO VOOC charger provide a quick charge to the OnePlus One?
Even if they had both, I would not recommend trying that super charger on the One. There's is probably hardware needed to handle the increased amps and using it on another phone might melt your battery.

Based on reading the kernel sources, find7op (aka One) has the required hardware on the phone side.
It really depends on if graffixnyc has tried it yet.

graffixnyc also owns a Find 7a.
Right now I'm not sure if you can buy the VOOC power supply separately from the device.
Hi guys!
I have had an iPad 2 for 3,5 years now, and I was wondering if I could use the USB charger that came with it with my OnePlus One?
The original charger is rated at 5V at 2100mA, where the iPad block is rated at 5.1V at 2100mA.
I don't think it will be a problem, but you never know
Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't say that I am the best reference when it comes to phone chargers, but the usb charger that came with my Oneplus got lost while my friend was bringing it over to me from belgium and I've been using my ipad charger ever since with no problems what-so-ever.
Since they are both rated at 2.1 A, I don't see why not use the ipad charger.
Hope that helps

Hi There,
Thinking of picking up the Honor 8 while I travel to the States. Just wanted to ask someone to clear up my confusion. So basically my question is:
Is the Honor 8 compatible with any Quick Charger ?
I know that most people have been saying that only the provided wall charger will quick charge the Honor 8 but , please excuse my ignorance/lack of knowledge here, if the provided charger is 9V/2A/18W , wouldn't a generic charger with those specs quick charge it as well ?
Also does the USB Type-C cable come into play with regards to the charging speed.
Thanks for any help. Just want to know because I'd like to have piece of mind that if I lose/break the provided wall charger I could buy another without paying the price of an Honor-Branded one.
Thanks

In Theory, regardings power supplies you're right.
The problem is more advanced: The charger provides 5V, (maybe even limited to 500mA) until the device handshakes successfully with the charger, and tells "hi there, I'm speaking hisilicon fast charging protocol. Oh, you do too? Great. How is the weather over there? Okay, enough smalltalk, please provide me with 9V, up to 3A, i can handle that without going into a puff of smoke".
The charger then reassures every 100ms or so, that the device connected is still the same... and keeps providing 9V
With a QC based charger, it might go "hi there I'm speaking hisilicon fast charging protocol. Oh sorry, i don't understand QC2.0. I can provide you with this legacy charging protocol". And the charger should recognize that it can provide 5V,2A - which will help, but won't be quite as fast as quick charging...
Lets see when Anker or some other company bring out a dual-lingual charger...
You should go with huawei's charger.

Thank you for your question regarding the Honor 8 and it's capabilities with quick charging. Your phone comes with a 9 V 2 A high voltage quick charger. It also supports 5 V 2 A chargers. Make sure you buy an official Huawei 9 V 2 A charger; unofficial quick chargers will not work properly. If you need a quick charger, you can buy one from Huawei Vmall or official Huawei experience shops. NOTE: The FRD-L02 shipped to the Indian market comes with a 5 V 2 A charger. (NS)
