[Q] Problems installing ROMs on Nexus 7 - General Questions and Answers

I'm getting some troubling errors when going to install a Rom on my nexus 7. And Yes its rooted. II boot into recovery using TWRP do the factory reset. When I try and flash I get an error saying "Error executing updater binary in zip"Then "error flashing zip" I Have tried multiple ROMs with the same error, same error when tryin the sony sony bravia engine 2 or 3. The Odd thing Is when I flash a gapps either 4.4.4 or 4.4.3 flashes just fine. I have experience rooting and flashing Roms onto multiple phones so Im not just a newb. Any Help would be tight!

By the image your trying to flash cm 11. I hade the same problem. You need to use the twrp from the cm11 tread. It wont work otherwise. I did spend almost an hour trying to flash before i got the advise to use the cm tread twrp.

Yes, the new CM versions enforce SE-Linux and need a special recovery. It is linked in the CM11 thread.

[Q] Need Original Firmware For Toshiba Excite 10 (AT300)

I have an Excite 10 (AT300) that gets stuck in the boot process on the "fireworks" screen...
I am thinking that re-installing the firmware will fix the problem..
I downloaded an 8mg update, but when I try to install it, it says VERIFICATION FAILED.. So I am thinking that I need the original firmware, instead of just an update..
Does anyone know where I can find such a critter??
I DID find a thread that had an update package that was considerably larger than the first one I tried..
163022_14.28.56.TC10213200A.zip
I put that on the SD card and then tried to install it thru the recovery process..
The verification passed, but then I got this error:

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
This seems to indicate to me that the verification is good on that file, but something happens in the update process...
I have tried about 5 different files from the http://bds.updates.toshiba.com/Downloads/Production/tais/2012/ location and all give me the same ASSET FAILED error..
This leads me to believe that something is REALLY hosed with this AT300..
I have done a complete data wipe/reset...
At a loss as to how to proceed?? I don't want to write this tablet off if there is a chance of bringing it back to life..
Any hints, tips or advice would be most appreciated..
Is there a way to get a listing of that link's directory and see what other firmwares might be available for download??

[HELP NEEDED]Cannot boot into recovery

I use the dual sim version of Moto G, XT1033.
Currently, I am unable to boot into recovery. The exact message I'm getting is -
'Invalid boot image size!
failed to validate recovery image'
'Boot up failed'
Because of this, I cannot revert to any nandroid backup. Recovery refuses to boot.
When I try to flash the stock ROM through fastboot, this is the message I'm getting
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The flash simply fails.
However, my phone is still working. But it's on a nightly version of unofficial CM11, which has a systemui fc bug. The October 11, 2014 version - to be precise. Prior to this every nightly I downloaded would update by booting into CWM and then updating. Ever since this one, I am unable to boot into the recovery. I don't know whether it has been caused by the nightly or some internal error, but I am unable to revert to stock. The force close bugs are getting ridiculous now;they've been more frequent since the past few days.
Is there any way I could get back to stock?
I got it to work by flashing an old version of CWM again.
Back to stock 4.4

ADB Sideload not working for me

Despite all the good posts on here I have been unable to get my phone out of a boot loop, and am now quite desperate for help please!
If anyone can point me in the direction of a rom or kernel that will definitively work on my phone I will be eternally grateful
It was ok until I decided to unlock bootloader and root it.
Unlock bootloader went well, as did flashing TWRP and also CWM – I have a suspicion that it was rooting with OneClickRoot caused the problem.
After over a day of failure I discovered how to do ADB Sideload at this thread: I used CM11 I got from this thread: and also tried a Stock one from here:
sadly nothing worked, and I'm now afraid of filling my phone storage with large files. I have added some screen shots of my failed attempts with TWRP & CWM
they both fail, and TWRP does warn me not to reboot as I have no OS installed, but I had to keep on trying.
Another weird thing is that I cannot always reboot to recovery from the Hboot screen and have to re-flash a recovery image each time.

Error 7 in TWRP

Currently running CM12 (5.0.2) and trying to flash up to Resurrection Rom 7.1.
Flashing TWRP 3.0.3.2 and updated firmware. When trying to flash the ROM I'm getting an Error 7 and it won't move ahead.
Is there something else I need to do before going from CM12 to CM14 base?
