Where on the verizon site?? can you post a link?

Yeah, I'm going from:
http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/faqs/WirelessService/AdvancedCalling.html
to here:
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/...viewPhoneOverviewByDevice&linkId=114&zipRdr=y
and the HTC One M8 is not on the list. Not saying somewhere else may have it listed, but the main links don't include us. I'm certainly interested in giving Advanced Calling a try though.

I saw it from the fb at that time

Look at the list of phones. It's there. Also seen something about us getting wifi calling. Can't remember where I seen that.

Advanced Calling for Verizon HTC One M8 updates?
Any news on this? I hear an android update is coming that will support this. Sure would like to try enjoy the clear audio. It would also be nice when they completely implement wifi calling (handoffs to mobile, even?). I don't get good mobile reception in my house and would like to use the wifi. Currently I use VoIP over wifi because of this issue.

Thanks for the update, please keep us posted.

Any word on HD calling? My wife has the G3 with it enabled, so any info would be appreciated.

I remember reading the m8 is not even capable of it hardware wise. Not sure though.

Sluggish WiFi? Try this:

If you're having trouble with WiFi becoming sluggish, it may be as simple as needing to delete your wifi data.
Navigate, in Root Explorer (or any capable of accessing /data) to /data/misc. Now, either delete the /data/misc/wifi folder entirely, or if you're being anal, you can rename it to something like 'backup_wifi'.
Reboot. On this startup, your phone will rebuild the wifi data, and if you're lucky, everything will be back up to speed. It helped out with my issues after flashing a few ROMs. Sometimes that stuff can get corrupted, as I can attest to with my HP Touchpad countless times. Once you're satisfied with the result, you can delete the old folder, if you chose to rename it instead of deleting it.
Anyways, post your results if you try it.
Weird how so many people are having bad WiFi and I'm not. It might be because I'm on the newest T-Mobile stock Rom.

The only trouble I've had is with non-stock ROMs, such as UTB and Black Dragon. I think a lot of those with issues may be doing the same.
I have had the wifi signal drop on my previous HTC one S handset
the replacement seems to be very good in keeping the signal, even stays on when on idle. So thanks for the input, lets see what others report.

Can you port your baseband version, which indicates radio version I think. It can be found in software information->more.
Btw, mine one is 0.15.31501S.19_10.12.31501S.06L
If you have a different one, it may mean yours is newer and better. Thanks

+1 With the tmobile version being the newest i assume it will have a different radio / modem than the rest of us with the international version...
I think this is software related, I get the bad signal, But i know my phone isnt faulty...
Waiting eagerly for an update.

I'm on the stock Rom from three UK and have no problem with wifi. The only thing I did do however is change my WiFi channel to improve signal strength from the router. I've included a screen shot of my baseband version.

Yes, it could be a solution cos at work with better WiFi router working on 802.11n my phone connects to it all the time without problem but at home my one I believe does not work on n so it may cause the WiFi issue.
However, I still think this is a software problem cos my old incredible s worked flawlessly both at work and home so the radio must playing a role here.

OK, quote myself, there might be something wrong with what I said about Radio and Wifi, there might be no connection between these two. I read some other forums someone suggested Radio has nothing to do with wifi....
Sorry for the confusion, could any one who is familiar with Radio in Android comment on this? If there is indeed no link between these two, we might need to think other things which cause the Wifi problem.
My bad, should have done more research rather than just pointing to Radio which appeared on top of my head when thinking about the problem.

Guys, let's try to stay on topic a bit. This thread has been quasi-hijacked. I posted this because I want to know if others are able to fix their problems by using my fix method. 2 Pages of posts now and not a single person has bothered to say whether they tried my method, much less their results. It's turned into a debate about wifi in general.

[Q] No Voice Dialer with ICS

So the first thing I noticed is that for some reason, there is no more Voice Dialer after the ICS OTA. Bummer since I use this all the time in my car.
I called HTC and they told me that they are looking to fix this but in their original ICS, that feature was still there. That leads me to believe that the carrier (thanks T-Mobile!), for some reason, got rid of it. Maybe it was one of the issues that kept them from pushing out the OTA.
At any rate, HTC said they are working on it (I guess with the carrier) to issue a fix for it. For the time being, they suggest Vlingo.
Anyone have any other suggestions?
This was a huge fail in my mind on the update.
So I started trying out all of the various ROMs... and come to find out, the ones that have bluetooth voice dialing dont have support for WiFi Calling... those that support WiFi Calling dont even allow a Bluetooth headset to connect...
Makes me believe that there is more than meets the eye on ICS and WiFi Calling...

Hi masondoctorjt!
Do you think it's possible for you to get the Voice Dialer off of your phone and either post it (to help people like me) or somehow send it to me? I'd like to try it and see if if works on my phone.
Thanks much!
T-Mobile USA was made aware of the issue and has confirmed the T-Mobile ICS update removes BT voice dialing and they are in discussions with HTC over this issue.

Google has blocked my I.P.

For some apparantly random reason, my AT&T mobile I.P. has been blocked by Google. I am a very light user, and haven't done any unusual searching in recent days, but just the other day I started to get this error;
"We're sorry...but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now." WTF?
Most of the time, it ends there, but every now and then it at least allows me to enter a captcha to temporarily use their services. I've sent my additional information through Google's automated webform but have not heard back from them yet.
I've wiped my OS, reformatted back to factory settings, I've tried multiple browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Dolphin) to no avail. I spent 3 hours talking to at&t customer tech 'support'. They had no clue and basically told me to get a new phone.
I'm at my wits end here. If anyone can help It would be greatly appreciated.
HTC One X w/ CM10 also tried Paranoid android and AOKP.
use tor!...
or wait for google to respond...
:silly::silly::silly:
StartPage. Com I think, uses Google but doesn't log ip addresses.
edit:
Or use the orbot app which will mask your ip from all websites. It also encrypts and compresses all data from your isp(ATT&T).
Edit2: Not sure if it compresses but I remember an app doing that, not sure which one

Same thing happened to me, and it was after rooting and installing Calkulin's ROM. I have no idea how to fix it or know what is causing it
this happened to me using boat browser, eventually google asked for to do a capcha thingy and its been working fine since
Same thing here. I was also on Calkulin's Rom. I noticed it happened to me only when I'm on LTE and only when using Google Now. All is well now.

This is still going on, and I'm about to give up on Google all together. What good is a Google phone if I can't use Google? There is absolutely no way to contact them and ask what the deal is. I've tried everything I could think of. Searching around the internet, the only solution I see is to run a memory/bandwidth wasting proxy service like Orbot (which didn't work for me btw), or Hotspot Shield (which seems to work but slows my internet connection down considerably.)
I still am not sure if this is AT&T's problem or Google's. I don't have a static I.P. which lead me to believe the problem was with my google account. However, logging into a different account gave the same result.
Google support is a joke. They have no support whatsoever for Android, and the only 'solution' they give is download and run HijackThis. WTF?
Seriously frustrated.

Aren't ATT'S ip addresses for mobile phones dynamic?
Maybe something in the Rom is wrong and sending erroneous, malicious, or constant traffic to google and they are blocking you because of it.
What happens on a different Rom? Try CR5 and see if you have the same problems.
Try a stock Rom too.
If you only have the issue with a particular Rom(clean wipe with no apps installed) then someone needs to look at it closely for either bad code, or something malicious.
Maybe you have a bad app?
Do you tether? Infected laptop being used as a bot against Google's DNS?
Sounds like whatever the cause, it is persistent. Intrusion protection systems will remove the block automatically after the event has ceased for a certain period of time.

Happening to me too. Doesnt even show the captcha anymore, just cant use the web. This is on LTE only. If i toggle LTE off, it works fine. Using Viper Rom.
Here is your super fast LTE... but you cant use it! Only thing its good for is speed test. This is very annoying. And we shouldn't have to use any xtra software to spoof our IP to browse. Totally uncalled for.
Just wish i knew the cause... could it be a custom rom thing? anybody ever seen this on a stock rom?
if this persists, and it does it on a stock rom too, i'm off to ATT to complain. With all the network issues etc that they exchanged this phone for in the beginning, i might be able to get a one X+ for exchange. They told me after the last exchange i could change phones if i had anymore problems... I am in a new LTE marjet too if that matters. We just got LTE a month ago..
OP are you in a new LTE market?

What's your location when this is happening? Can the op verify that his issue is only happening on LTE also? What about when you are on WiFi(different ip address)?
It is possible to spoof originating ip, maybe attacks/spam against Google are being spoofed and they happen to lie within ATT's ip blocks and you have nothing to do with it.

Although IPs are assigned dynamically, it's not unheard of for an IP address to stick with an associated MAC address for an extended amount of time (even after multiple lease expirations/renewals). Try this in an Android Terminal:
Code:
$ su
# netcfg
You'll see all of your network adapters listed, and the one with an IP address is your mobile data IP. Make note of this IP, as well as what the name of the network adapter is (on my Vivid, it's rmnet_sdio1 - which is what I'll be using from here. Anywhere you see this, replace it with the name of your adapter).
Code:
# ifconfig rmnet_sdio1 down
This takes the adapter down (basically like an ipconfig /release)
Code:
# ifconfig rmnet_sdio1 up
This brings the adapter back online.
Now reboot.
Open a terminal again
Code:
# ifconfig rmnet_sdio1
Did you get a new IP address? Try Google again. If you still are told Google's blocking your IP, and it's happening on stock too, ATT has some issues they need to take up with Google...

I tried what homeslice976 wrote, step by step. I was given a new I.P. address, I rebooted and the problem did not go away. I also tried with LTE toggled off. Still blocked. When I'm at home on my WiFi, there is no problem. This is definitely an AT&T issue.
If this doesn't resolve itself soon I'm gonna tell AT&T to go **** themselves, buy a nexus 4 and give T-Mobile a try.

Change radio scan times?

Has anyone figured out a way to edit the scan times on a Nexus 5?
The frequency of time it takes to rescan for LTE after dropping it is way too long. I know other phones are much better and I've even seen it said that they've changed the scan times on an LG G3.

mine reconnects to lte nearly instantly(in a few seconds). maybe the lte signal around you isnt very strong?
No, it's certainly an issue after dropping LTE and the amount of time it takes to rescan on its own, without toggling airplane mode. Been endlessly discussed at s4gru.com

just because its endlessly discussed on s4gru.com, its the first time ever ive heard of this n5 "issue", and obviously im not experiencing the issue. again, it can be related to you not having a good lte signal around you. or, it can very likely just be a sprint issue with lte.

ok then. i guess youll be happy with an answer that there is a definitive issue on the nexus 5 and scanning for lte, on every single carrier. i must be the only one that doesnt have this issue. not. i know not of this issue for anyone on tmobile or att. my guess is that its sprint related. just like your site s4gru.com, its an exclusively sprint website. see the dots got connected..
Some of those folks there ha e ATT sims for their N5's as well, but that's OK. It's a site full of radio engineering geeks, so I'm sure they know what they're talking about.

what you can do is try out the different nexus 5 modems/radios. each radio will react slightly differently, and maybe you can find the one that connects best for you. here is the nexus 5 radio thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47164660&postcount=1

Ahhh, so you think the latest build made a change somewhat? I had thought this was a Qualcomm issue.

I don't see it. I had to enable show system app for phone to show up in the list. There are three phone apps and neither one has the setting for wifi calling.
Weird
Grrr. Whats up with that?

I checked the online manual on sprint.com and it said that wifi calling might not be on the phone at launch.
I'll call Sprint tech support later today and see what they say.
I stupidly factory reset my phone, thinking something had gone wrong during initialization. Now I have to set up again, and still no Wi-Fi calling option.
Found these two guides on there website for those that need instruction.
Hopefully sprint can tell you why its missing?

Yes. It you look at the first guide, it says that wifi calling may not be available at launch.
Wi-Fi Calling hasn't been pushed to our phones yet . I would imagine it will Soon, now that the phone launched

Thank you. I haven't had time to call Sprint but that's the answer that I was expecting.

Thanks for the info, I'm in a "chat" with Sprint now and the person I'm talking to didn't even know this much. Wonder what "soon" means in this context, like a few days, or several weeks...
I saw somewhere (can't remember where) the update is expected in September.
