Lock Screen Help - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Within the Lock Screen Settings, I can't figure out how to make mine look like this. Amy help is appreciated http://img.wonderhowto.com/img/78/8...eatures-make-oneplus-one-even-better.w654.jpg

More info required. What ROM are you talking about?
Transmitted via Bacon

Thats just the standard AOSP / stock Android lock screen.
If you're on CM11S.. go to settings > lock screen > custom lock screen (disable it)
Otherwise, custom ROMs will be using AOSP lock screen anyways (unless its CM11 nightlies & derivatives)

[Q] Can I Change what lock button does on Android 2.3.5 (Or others)

Hello XDA forums.
I was wandering if there is any way to change what the phones hardware lock button does.
Specifically I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace running stock 2.3.5 (rooted) and would like an app called "Screen Off FX" to open when I press the lock button, instead of the phone locking.
As mentioned above, my phone is rooted, however I am not very experienced at modding android system files so if some body would be able to tell me how do this I will be very grateful. .
Don't if this is impossible (or difficult) to do, I'm not sure how android locks itself (whether the kernel manages it or if android does) and I'm not very keen on the idea of installing a custom ROM on my phone.
Any suggestions will be appreciated, and thanks in advance

Is there any way to get the CRT-off animation in rooted stock rom?

As the title says and also is there a way to get the lock screen with a circle where you can move upwards to open a certain app or any other direction for other apps etc, they are all in resurrection remix rom but it's laggy for me so I just want those 2 options in stock rom.

[Q]

Hi all
I own a Samsung Galaxy S4 Black Edition I9505. I've couldn't resist temptation and I've deleted my system partition using twrp recovery (stupid me). After flashing the last stock Lollipop 5.0.1 firmware available for this phone (I9505XXUHOD7_I9505OXAHOD7_DBT), the stock "Deep Black" wallpapers for home screen and lock screen are nowhere to be seen. I guess they weren't installed by default.
I've searched for the respective files with Root Explorer (the best €3.79 ever invested) - (fhd_01.jpg, fhd_02.jpg, fhd_03.jpg, fhd_04.jpg, fhd_06.jpg, fhd_07.jpg, fhd_08.jpg, fhd_09.jpg) - are all included in this firmware (under /system/csc/DBT/system/wallpaper/drawable/, but for some reason they are not available under "Wallpapers-Home&Lock Screen" and I must browse to the gallery and select them manually.
Does anyone know how to make them available? I've really like to have my stock "Deep Black" I9505 back.
And where are the stock ordinary Lollipop home screen and lock screen contained. I've also tried to decompile framework-res.apk, but unsuccessfully. They're not there.
EDIT: After flashing the first Deep Back fw build I9505XXUHOB7/I9505YBTHOB7/I9505XXUHOB7, my home& locked screen returned to normal. Lesson learnt. The other questions remain opened.
Thank you

Looking for a custom rom without the extra step >>> swipe before pattern

hi Guys,
i am still on CM11 because for me the Pattern lockscreen is perfect
some poeple know this issue
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=79889
The new lock screen makes it even slower to unlock your phone, and there's no option to remove the extra step.
The first screen now makes you swipe up to go to the normal unlock screen (or other directions for the phone or camera). The majority of the time, I don't need either the phone or camera, so the extra step is slowing down the most common action I need to do every single time I want to use the phone.
This needs an option setting so it can be disabled.

So i have a question:
Is there any Custom Rom where i can disable this annoying option ? I like tu upgrade to CM12 but i am not sure if i have to swipe before unlock my phone.
Thanks
It can be disabled and show directly the pattern unlock in cm12.1.
Nexus 5, CM12.1 CAF
ok thank you. in the past i tried a very early version of cm 12 , then i switched back because of this extra step.
so last thing i need to know, i hope for your answer, is there any option for the "silent mode" like in cm11 / kitkat or do i have to wait till cm13 for a working silent mode ?

There's an equivalent to Silent Mode, it's called 'Priority Mode'. Some ROM have Silent Mode built in too (such as Cataclysm LP).
thanks for answering.
i guess CATACLYSM will be the better choice, it is already on Marshmallow - i will try it first

Double tap feature

Hi guys,
is there a way to have the double tap feature to wake up the phone?
I mean without install a new rom. Maybe installing a kernel that support the stock rom.
Thanks

install blue spark kernel stock version
Thanks a lot for the reply. Could you give me extra informazions about that kernel?
Where I can find it and if it is possibile to restore the original kernel in the case I don't like this one.
Thanks you
EDIT:
I found the kernel. But int the last post the developer says that the kernel will not be updated anymore. Do you advise to install anyway?
Interested in this as well, haven't found specific info on installing the "blue spark kernel stock version" on the Moto G 2015 though?
EDIT - ah ok it's here http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/orig-development/kernel-t3207597 - going to read up!
EDIT2 - ah bit confused on what needs to be done to flash the kernel...(is it dt.img ?) TWRP needed (I have it since I rooted) ? Also someone mentions going back to stock kernel if need be here http://forum.xda-developers.com/201...ent/kernel-t3207597/post63208808#post63208808 but I can't say it's very clear to me

If you want to install the blu_spark kernel you have to download a zip file from this page. If you come from example from the stock rom you have to download "blu_spark_r92-stock-5.1.1_osprey_1562e7b.zip". To flash the zip you have to go in recovery mode and install it.
About restoring stock kernel as far as I read from the message you linked you have to:
-First backup the boot partition from TWRP and save it somewhere
-Do something...
-If you want restore the stock kernel you have to restore the boot partition you have saved in the first step (do it always from TWRP)
Thanks, it's a bit more clear now, are you going to give that kernel a try? On top of the double tap I'd be interested in getting improved battery life as well.
Well, I'm quite uncertain.
First option: install a custom kernel
Pros:
Install a single zip file instead of flash a custom ROM (losing all data)
Maintain the stock ROM
Cons:
Development for blu_spark kernel is abandoned (like the developer said in the last post of the topic). Yeah, you would have the double tap feature but have a kernel with no support. An option could be install this kernel and as soon as possible change it with a new one with active support. What do you think about?
The other kernel (squid kernel) misses this features (double tap to wake up)
Second option: install a custom ROM (e.g. Cyanogenmod 13)
Pros:
Very good ROM (from my own experience with other devices like Nexus 7 and Huawei)
If I'm not mistaken Cyanogenmod has the double tap features as a default feature
Cons:
Losing all data flashing the new ROM (actually not a very problem)
Losing the stock ROM (this is a not very problem too)
Smart creen on off is the solution!
It's available on play store. No root needed.
Thanks for the reply.
How about the drain battery of an app (such as Smart Screen Off) compared to a built in kernel feature?
None of the apps I've seen works well with double tapping as they want you to double tap on the proximity sensor. One option I've seen that works ok is "waving" if you set it to 3 quick waves. Not as nice as double topping.
It seems that a new kernel has appeared. It has the double tap to wake and is currently supported.
There is only a small problem: it doesn't support the stock ROM, but the CM13 yes.
Not hw feature. Can use more battery

Thanks for the heads up, no go for stock 5.1.1 though
Did you ever try the other kernel now abandoned? That one worked with stock apparently.
