Like 5 minutes ago I was about to charge my phone when I noticed some weird notifications in chinese writing that said "brendan's url" and then the weird chinese writing. Then I saw three icons with the android face on them that said the same brendans url. I just really dont know what they are or the purpose. Its just weird! Has anyone seen this or should I be worried? Maybe its a virus or something.

I Rooted CleanRom Inheritance 3.4.6-10.4.4.25/US ODEX and about an hour after I got a screen pop-up asking me what prog I wanted to use. I had no idea what was going on in the background to require it. I kept randomly getting them and got pissed so I selected a file manager. Sure enough, there were pics of whatever I had on the screen.
Any ideas what would be causing this?
While it isn't critical it sure is annoying.

I have disabled the "recently used" long press function in the ASUS Customized setting area. I can use the pwr/down vol to take one.
There is nothing on the top of my tablet to cause it by inadvertently pressing the buttons.
It happens randomly regardless of what I am doing and regardless of whether or not I am docked (I have the ASUS OEM dock).

Have you by chance installed any rogue apps? Making intermittent screenshots is a known feature of malware hoping to catch your login details for websites and bank accounts and so on. I'm definitely not saying this is what is going on on your 700, but it might just be the case. Standing in your shoes, I'd wipe completely clean and start over. I do that for my Flashing OCD every once in a while anyway.

It would appear that Lookout had some sort of virus. I DL'd it from Google Play and it immediately popped the "choose application" screen with this:
I found this great free app called Lookout. You should download it for your phone! xxxx://bit.ly/XxXXXx (I deleted the URL info to prevent someone from clicking it)
Went with Avast now.
So...wtf? Is there a virus/bug out there that modifies Lookout?

Thx man. I followed your advice and was able to find it that way. When I reDL'd it popped the notification and I used Evernote to figure it out.

It is still happening but, only when docked on the keyboard.
It happens randomly still and, happens when the tab (docked) sits for a while. The "select prog for..." screen pops up and I select evernote to verify.
It wouldn't still happen with a complete wipe and reinstall would it?

Hi all,
I've got an issue with something appearing at random on my N5 and I have no idea what is causing it or how to make it stop. Occasionally I get a blue bar with an "@" and a number behind it along with an "ok" button below it which appears on my phone at random times. I have to hit the ok button to get it to disappear. I don't know what it is or what it's for. It comes up randomly and with no specific action on my part triggering it. Last time was a few minutes ago not long after I opened the play store. Another time it happened not long after I opened Boat Browser. Other times it will pop up when I'm just navigating menus. I posted a screenshot to show what I mean. Does anyone know what this is?
FYI, I'm running Purity Rom, and using Nova Launcher. Don't know if that's relevant. Thanks
Hello everyone! I recently bought a Galaxy S7 and while i have to admit is working flawlessly, i have a few things that are bugging me off.
First of all, i completely get no notices from some applications, such as Steam Guard or Messenger (the facebook message app). For those of you that are unaware of this app, Steam Guard is supposed to notify me with a code when i try to log into my steam account. While that happened on my nexus 5 (i would always get the icon in the upper left corner), this never happens on S7. I also tried to check on the settings, and notifications from that app are activated. This is something that is bugging me off, but it's a minor issue.
Another question would be... Has anyone of you a "Galaxy care" app preinstalled? I saw a few videos that mentioned having it, but i can't seem to find it anywhere.
I mostly ask this because when i first set my new s7 up, it asked to bring the settings from the old phone. I setup my old phone back to back with my new one, and while it found the settings, it would give me an error, not saying which one though. I tried it a couple of times, but i always end up with an error. I figured that i had to manually set the phone up, and that was it. Now, i'm starting to wonder if the setting port error somehow screw up my S7 internal settings, because while it gave me an error, the only thing i can see it ported from my old nexus 5 is the wallpaper i had. Nothing else.

Hi I'm new to android I've been a apple fan for a while but I've gone for a p30 and got to say this phone blow apple out of water anyways I'm having problems getting notifications from Facebook in getting the number 1-2 etc on the app but not getting a notification say on my lock screen to say some one as tagged me or comment on my post thinks like that I'm just wondering if theys a fix for this I've deleted the app and reinstall and still nowt I've also checked notifications and they all on I've tried a app called pnf no root and that's still not worked sorry about the long writing also I'm sorry if I've put this in the wrong place thank you

I got an really annoying problem and can't find anything on the web or this forum. Probably due to the common keywords....
My problem, since 1,5 months (can't remember if this is after an update) notifications stay on screen for 45 seconds! App notification but also android system notifications (the grey ones beneath the screen). For instance, picking up my phone from the wireless charger the phone says "Draadloos laden onderbroken" this is the dutch message for saying the phone has stopped charging wireless. Then opening let's say whatsapp, this notifications hovers 45 seconds above the text input position.
I can't find any setting that let's me adjust the screen time duration of notifications. Rebooted the device and also had a new update few days ago, but the problem stays. I'm running Android 10, One UI 2.0 with kernel 4.14.113-17806689.
I feel really stupid not figuring this seemly simple thing out by myself.

Have you found this setting?Settings\Accessibility\Advanced settings\Time to take action
Instellingen\Toegankelijkheid\Geavanceerde instellingen\Tijd om actie te ondernemen
Not sure if it will solve the problem, but it seems related. This setting is hard to find and you might not remember having changed it. No 45 sec option though.

That worked for me for some reason mine was set to 2 minutes. I don't remember changing this setting. Ooo well it's resolved now.

Notifications are a disaster on this phone. It kills apps in the background too aggressively, also (excluding apps from that seems a little hit-and-miss). I love customization, but Android 10 and OneUI have made a real mess of this.
My current problem is when I get a call, the popup flashes only for a second. Everything was so much simpler on my old rooted phone!
When I get a flood of notifications, my phone freezes up. Either it's Notistar's fault or there is a huge issue with the notification system.
