i was curious on how to change the stock at&t rom's Signal and network icon to show E,3G,H,LTE the stupid cartoon style one is kinda lame, i resurrected my G2 from brick because of a custom rom, and i prefer the stock one with my own custom tweaks. I tried something similar before with my galaxy s4 i had, but for the life of me i cannot remember how to do it.

I'm running stock froyo rooted and modified to my liking. I have my phone running very stable with great battery life and dont want to mess around with flashing any customs ROMs just yet, atleast not until we have a stable CM release or until we get our hands on the G2x 2.3 OTA. However I do miss having a black status bar. I was able to accomplish getting it by replacing stock frame-res with the eagles blood one and replacing the file so the clock will be white but since its pulled from a custom ROM there were also other modifications made to it and I wasnt happy with it. I dont mind doing some editing my self if I knew which files and lines to edit. I would just like to run the stock froyo with a black status bar and white clock with no icon bugs if possible. Any thoughts or ideas?
Here's one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14162301&postcount=73. There's a couple others posted in the same thread.
Can we get a rom or theme that has a Gingerbread status bar (bars/WiFi bars/battery icon etc.) and similarly themed drop down panel?
I see tons of roms but they're either tacky or stock. The theme in the theme/apps section doesn't work with the T-Mobile USA Sensation 4G stock rom and the dev is completely uninterested in fixing the issue nor does he want to outline that flashing it will get you a soft brick because of the quick settings mods.
So, I'm wondering if a dev is nice enough to take the time out to offer a theme or rom with a GB look that works with the T-Mobile USA rom for the Sensation 4G.
You should just have to flash a Sense ROM and then replace the battery & 3G/4G icons with the green stock gingerbread ones
New to posting on here, so be patient... I have been flashing roms however since the Motorola droid 1 and love the mods we can do to our phones. Now I have a Samsung Galaxy S3, flashed to CleanRom, newest version as of this date. I love the battery life on this Rom but work near the Mexican border where it easily switches to roaming. My question is that on CM roms I'm able to go into roaming settings and select either Automatic (default) or Home Only which will prevent anything but a Verizon signal. Works awesome. I don't know why this is unique to CM or AOSP roms and not touch wiz. Is there a way we can have that added or even an app that will do that very thing? Sometimes I have to just backup my rom and flash CM just to use my phone without roaming on to the Mexican cell tower. It's very frustrating. Thanks for any advice.
So I just got my s5 coming from a s3. From the very first week i got my s3 I installed an aosp rom and kept aosp till two days ago... never really heard any "modem" talk on that side of the forum. Now that I got an s5 and aosp roms are not really an option (I have a kid and need a working camera). Im looking at TW roms but all this modem talk is confusing me... also odex and deodex?? What?? Ima root soon so plz help out a newb! Thx
Modem is one part of android that controls the in and out signals from mobile networks, and switching of different types of mobile signals. MOAR is awesome TW ROM. Deodexed is basically a rom where apps are made easier to modify and theme by changing the way the java code is read. Odexed would be a totally stock Rom that's supposed to load faster and run smoother, which in my experience even on deodexed, after 1st few power cycles, runs and loads about the same.

Does anyone know which ROM is the closest to Stock ROM? I mean, talking about icons, status bar...
I've used LOS 10 and it's pretty similar to stock N but the icons on status bar were different (larger and with a pretty different shape) and that was annoying me (maybe I have TOC with that or I'm just a fanboy of stock ROM look and feel). What really made me come back was the (apparently) lack of TurboCharging, Moto display and Moto actions.
I like customisation but I would like a ROM that, for a begin, was basically the same of stock and allowed me to make my own changes. I've seen some ROMs (DU and RR) that are pretty the same of the Stock N but I'm not sure yet.
Does anybody know if those ROMs that I said before have support to those Moto features? If not, is there any ROM that has it?
