See slimroms announcement regarding this matter. So you may have to wait a bit, but i would be surprised if one of the devs would not give a try.

Yeah
And if they didn't then we will donate to them in Advance to start it:highfive:

I'd love to see it for 5110 as well

Which kernel do you prefer for now? For p3100 cyanogenmod?

Be patient guys. Google did not released the source yet, after that it will take some time until well known roms like SlimRoms,OmniROM or CM merge those changes.

We will be patient bro.

Stock CM11 kernel is good enough.
I've tried almost all the kernels of this forum, an the stock is the less "clicky" on audio playback.

What is*AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP?
We were waiting for when you’d ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they’re “baked in” by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone’s settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?
AOKP Release*Versioning
We have two different kinds of builds/releases - Nightlies, and Milestones.
Nightlies: Automatic builds, every 3 days, of the latest code committed (may contain nuts bugs).
Milestones: Most stable builds, usually released once a month.

yeah.. that will come imo.. but ehh.. i did say unless its a port or a custom rom..
I know that Carbonrom and PA are working on 4.3 , so I am sure when they post a source , our developers could start their magic and make it work for our edison.
That will be awesome
sent from my thumbs
wait
All we have to do is to wait
Wait for a custom Rom with 4.3
It will definetely be
Hopefully our developers (altered, devesh, ravi, perhaps i forget someone) surprised us with a 4.3 rom: D, but i see it very dificult
This will be good news ( I guess )

That's the moto Qualcomm family.. I remember a friend saying about that day before yesterday night in a pac hangout..
And regarding 4.3, Android made considerable changes to the kernel and under the hood security fixes. Now, any changes to the memory in kernel messes with kexec..
Right now, hashcode is working on a solid fix for kexec.. Once every thing is fixed, we will have more good stuff..

KERNEL for Android 4.4?

HELLO!
Since there is some nice development going on with android 4.4 (thank you cn.fyodor), i was wondering what KERNEL are you guys using on your Nexus S with android 4.4.
Is there any kernel that works with cn.fyodor's ROM and has more tweaks and stuff available?
Thank you for your participation in this thread

From where did you downloaded the source?
Edit:
I guess problem is something else. The device source where we are trying to port from might be of different configuration. So we need to choose a device which has similar specifications like us. Lets hope for the best.

We would be highly obliged if you can port this for us @ketut.kumajaya.....but please port 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 versions as they are battery friendly As far as i have seen reviews of it on other Devices that supports it. I suppose it can be developed from source. Sources are on my GITHUB. These are patch ROM sources FYI:

Less than 2 hours hack Using modified NEXT kernel for T311. The graphics so slow, but I knew the source of problem. LewaOS 5 based on CM 10.1 but NEXT for P31xx will fail to boot it, "/system/framework/framework_ext.jar" and "/system/framework/lewa-framework.jar" BOOTCLASSPATH in init.rc needed. Switched back to CM, had no time to hack it further.

Regarding kernel development for i9500 [2/3/2015]

GOOD NEWS DEFINATLY PROMISING LL KEENEL SOURCES FOR I9500 IS UP
People in the development community of our be loved device
We as users, miss a crucial part of android customization which is custom kernels . Sadly, It has been dead for months . I really appreciate the developers' efforts those who came up with some kernels for i9500 like maxfu kernel , adam kernel, and perseus kernel. Unfortunately, their projects are currently discontinued. We as users look up for that kind of customization so I hope that some of U step up and work on something for our device cuz I really feel jealous of i9505 users bearing in mind the numerous choices they have when it comes to kernels.
Thanks in advance , and a big shout out for developers currently working on cool roms :highfive:
