The Fake Xiaomi Mi4 on sale about 1 month ago. The ROM is MIUI but CPU is MTK. So be careful if you buy from ebay or aliexpress, especially aliexpress. Better ask seller give you IMEI number with your shipping bill togther.
Fake Mi4
I got one from aliexpress seller. the good thing is I found it out early because its a bit slower than usaual snapdragon phones so i decided to install an app which reads system information and confirmed that its a fake mi4 with MTK processor, 1GB ram, and 720p resolution.
and now I sent back the phone to seller and have to pay the return shipment. so disappointing.

Ooh, better not to buy from anywhere else either than real resellers.
I bought mine from http://xiaomishop.com. They seem to be the only ones that have an EU Warehouse with express shipping, so that if you live in EU you can avoid all the import tax crap. However the shipping charge for me was $48 which is a bit much IMO but it is a 1-2 day service.
Another 2 good ones are: Oppomart (http://oppomart.com) and Xiaomiworld (http://xiaomiworld.com).
xiaomishop.it is also working if you live in EU, shipping to Sweden in 3 days.

http://xiaomishop.com is the official online footprint for Xiaomi. Very helpful, fairly quick response times to queries. My only issue was shipping to South Africa had no courier option.
Can anyone comment on Xiomiworld?

That is to pity. Fake Xiaomi device is quite common in China, the quality of it is very bad. There is a good way to devide fake things: enter the recovery of your Mi4, if there is a "Mi Flash", it can't be fake.
Sent from my MI 4LTE using XDA Free mobile app
I also got a fake, or perhaps it was a horribly refurbished and rooted used device built from scraps. It was loaded with bloatware (and probably spyware), but all the stat monitors seemed to say it has legit specs except for the the battery which was 2400mAh and discharged almost faster than it could charge. Interestingly it was all VERY well packaged like it came from a factory and everything looked 100% genuine on the outside, but when I removed the back cover I could see that it had been worked on and the plastic parts and battery were in horrible condition... so always buy Xiaomi from a reputable dealer if you want the real thing.
Phone Original Rom is duplicate

I bought from banggood.com. Its a magical phone for that price. but Rom is customized..they installed international ROM with lot of adware and unnecessary apps. It has not atleast mi Store. I installed mi store after. I want to change it but model is mi4 LTE-CT (China Telecom). This china telecom version does not support normal Global mi4 ROM. I did not root any phone before. this is a very rare phone to my country. bangood is good. but their OS Customising is very bad.

So I've seen many threads concerning ebay+batteries = fake. I'd like to ask you guys where you get the not-so-fake batteries from (online). I've seen a couple of places that sell the (supposedly) original ones (A-Grade?) along with another listing for the fake ones which they call 'wholesale' or R-Grade (not sure what the R is for).
I want to know if there are any trusted sources to get an original battery. Tried calling the dealers in my country and they said that they don't issue phone 'parts' unless it's given for repairs.
so yeah,. where do you guys get your batteries from?

If you want to guarantee your battery is OEM than you need to buy it from either your local carrier store, Samsung, or a big box retailer like Best Buy. However, if you do not mind the extra bulk I cannot make a higher recommendation for a Zerolemon Battery/Case. I would link it, but I am a newer user and cannot post links. It is easy to find on Amazon and the price is great at $41.99.

I buy direct from Amazon. In my case amazon.ca.
I work at a busy cell/computer repair shop so we wind up ordering 10+ batteries out per device at a time since you never know when a dozen iphones may come in. We pull our parts from Mengtor and Global Direct Parts.
As far as personal opinion goes, Mengtor parts are generally junk for new(ish) phones. Until it's been out for a year, at least, we pass on any mengtor orders even if we save a decent amount simply because returns are highly frowned upon by us and customers (obviously, who wants to bring their phone back again?). However, After a year, or even two of parts being revised and worked on we migrate over from GDP to Mengtor since the warranty process for faulty parts we order goes through faster and they've worked out the kinks in their junk by then.
Global Direct Parts on the other hand, have never let me down. Sure we've ordered junk parts that are dead on arrival but for the most part they are our main supplier for all, excluding iphone 4/4s and prior iphones (due to well, being over a year old and the previous issues are taken care of).
The cost on GDP right now for you would be 22.89 for a battery on an S4 for Verizon (Here to link)
Our cost is about 15-18$ depending on if they are pushing stock for new orders to their warehouse or willing to hold onto it. Warranty process has always been excellent as well for when we get a bunk battery, or other part. Also, they generally offer OEM and aftermarket parts depending on which you want. The link goes to an OEM variant. Hope this helps!

OEM from Amazon I believe is good.
can't go wrong with OEM
Either amazon or preferably the Samsung store.
I bought ones of these, $8.75 & free 2 day shipping with Amazon Prime.

I've always had good experiences with Anker. They're also available on Amazon, and unlike several of the knockoffs, they guarantee NFC compatibility if they list it.
If u can find a way of shipping items from china's tmall to ur place, they do hv authentic batteries from samsung's factories in china, with the retail packaging and all. It is a cheap option if u can find a way to save on shipping.
If not, I would just get anker batteries as they are reliable.

U could find any online seller that has the real deal for a cheaper price if u know how to spot fakes. Otherwise, if u really have to get the samsung one, u gotta pay more to buy it off the official retail stores.
As much as I hate paying Samsung for their horribly overpriced accessories, batteries included, I did end up buying my spare battery from Samsung, but I waited until they had a 50% off accessories sale. I wasn't in a rush, so I just waited until a sale came up. Call it a compromise.
I buy an original samsung battery from aliexpress.com
Hey guys,
I think most of us outside China/HK are importing the X2 from eBay sellers or Chinese e-commerce shops like Aliexpress, Gizok, Ainol-Novo etc. I'm trying to figure out which sellers you've had a good experience with buying, in terms of getting the product on time, in good conditions, and properly set up with the Google Play App store and configured with English (or your native language) as the default language.
I wanted to ask where you guys are buying from, as I prefer to buy from reputed retailers with clear policies on returns and support, but these things are pretty murky when you're importing from a China/HK-based seller.
I'm in Canada, so when I buy, I'll need to consider both the reliability of the seller plus customs fees, so I'd like to hear from you guys before I make my decision.

Did you have to pay customs fees in the US? I have considered getting it shipped to the US and having a friend bring it over to Canada.
Which carrier are you on? Are youbgetting 4G or HSDPA speeds? I've heard of US users having issues with SMS, but maybe those have been fixed with firmware updates.

I'm interested in buying a X2 or M2. I would be very interested in your comparison between them. I have read the hype, but being metal cased, does the M2 suffer from worse connectivity in poor reception areas?

He ordered his when Gizok had them in stock and hasn't received it yet. They said it was out of stock but when he placed his order it said it was in stock. So he is giving them another week to get it in Stock and if not he said hes placing the order on ebay. The metal casing doesn't interfere with the signal at all. If you plan on using it as a phone get the X2. The M2 is way bigger and wont fit in your pocket at all. The M2 is good if you just want a tablet and don't care about having a phone. Personally I'd go for the X2.
Does the MediaPad M2 have a phone function as well?

The M2 is more a pure tablet. 8", bigger in size and also has less big battery ( 4500mah ). No phone calling capability ( only LTE etc ).
The X2 is more functional and fits more the tablet/phone profile. The M2 is pure and simple a tablet.

I read conflicting information regarding the M2 phone calling capability.
The Huawei M2 User Guide details how "selected models" make phone calls.
I would only be interested in phone-calling M2 "selected models".
I agree X2 is less ambiguous in that respect.
I am pretty sure the LTE version of the M2 has a phone function. The confusion comes from the fact that the M2 is also available in a WiFi only version.
I just made a mockup of the M2 in plywood to judge how it feels in the hand compared to the X2 and it is actually pretty good.
I am using a Sony SBH52 Bluetooth handset when I use the X2 as a phone and I can do the same with the M2. I think the extra screen real estate will make a real difference in useability.
The slighty smaller battery will not make a difference I think.

Are you sure about the size? http://www.phonearena.com/phones/size/Huawei-MediaPad-M2,Huawei-MediaPad-X2/phones/9531,9277
Its a massive difference between the two... Also the weight sees a big increase.
The m2 is really a tablet, not a phone/tablet. I also see no mention about phone capability on the LTE version. You can have phone capability is if you some 3th party solution, like Skype + fixed number. But that is a bit of a detour.
Battery... it will have a effect. Sure, its only 200mAh less, but its also powering now a 8" screen. So all in all, you get a bigger tablet, with less battery power. All that for just 1" more... To me, the m2 just serves a different market.
Edit: I just tried the X2 vs M2 in hand holding using a quick mock up ( using the phonearea comparison ) and while i have big hands, the extra size on the m2 makes it impossible to hold it in one hand ( for me ).
Like Benjiro said, here is the difference in size between the two. I'd get the X2 unless you're looking for just a tablet for around the house.
There are several videos on YouTube that show the M2 with a Dialer/Phone App on the homescreen. Also the LTE version has two SIM slots and I have never seen a tablet with two SIM slots just for data.
The point I am making is that I use the X2 more as a tablet than a phone and then the M2 makes more sense.
I have used an iPad Mini in the past as my main tablet and the M2 actually has a larger screen and is smaller in width so is darke to hold in your hand.
With the X2 I still tend to get my iPad Air 2 for certain tasks and I think the M2 can be my one and only device.

I bought the Xperia Z2 from eBay. It was 10K less then on Amazon (INR).
So basically, these devices are international variants, brought from international markets such as China & sold in your country, the phone is absolutely fine but you might get the charger of some different country. Also, you might not get manufacturer warranty but sellers warranty, which means if anything goes wrong, you cannot take your device to Sony & raise a claim, you'll have to return it to the eBay seller & he'll hook you up with a replacement.
The best part was
When i bought the Z2, I received model version D6503 which hat LTE/4G whereas the Z2 available in India was with the model version D6502, which did not support LTE/4G.,

Yeah. It's a bit narrow and due to the curved glass it lifts on the edges no matter how much I press down on it.

I've been looking at that seller as it's much cheaper than buying in Australia ($999 AUD for Forest Blue).
My main concern is the warranty and stuff, which seems non-existant on (international) phones for Sony.
Can you tell me a bit more about how the item was packaged / gifts received / safe to buy?

Lol i read the warranty is for 12 month and can be increased to 24 month with optional overpriced
However I think 12 month is the most convenient given that in general offers them the producer.
For what it's worth, I just bought an XZ from the seller tropical_mobile on eBay on Tuesday, and it showed up today from Singapore.
Compared with the US retail version, the only differences I noticed were that the box was sealed, included some cheap earbuds, a screen protector that doesn't give full coverage, and the power adapter is gigantic.
As for customs, there wasn't a declaration form anywhere on my package.

Yes. It was part of the built-in setup process. Though in fairness, I had also flashed the generic UK ROM on a US phone, and the reader worked just fine there, too.
Anyway, when the phone first booted, there were some messages in what I presume to be Mandarin. I have no idea what they said, and I don't remember the US version doing that out of the box. Once you tap through them, you get the option to change the language, and it was pretty much smooth sailing from there.
Anyone from the UK bought the dual XZ from the Uk comment on decent sellers?

Sadly no european stock.
Does anyone know where to get a replacement original or good quality OEM battery for the Mi5 (BM22)?
My battery life has turned pretty poor (sometime the phone will switch off when it claims it has 20% left) etc and I usually get just over 2.25 hrs SOT.
Have tried different ROMs, battery calibration etc but think the issue may be the battery itself so looking to replace.
All the ones on Aliexpress are OEM and no brands I recognize. Any advise on which is best?
Thanks, Chada
I'd like to know too, I can find many batteries on eBay and Aliexpress but I don't know if they're good or not
I bought one from ebay. It worked as good as a new one for a month. After that the battery doesn't want to charge. Checked with different chargers but Ampere shows the charging current at around 150mah. Don't buy from ebay.

That's been my experience with every single replacement battery I've ever ordered online. We have a local Xiaomi repair centre, I can message them to see if we can buy OEM batteries from them directly?

Yeah, apparently they are not willing to sell to the public directly. I can only submit my phone for repairs.
Hi, I got one from amazon two months ago and it is working fine . I am getting about 15 hours.

Please, tell us about the link. Thanks!
I just ordered a "Nohon" battery for my mi5. Specs are Li-Po (as original, not Li-Ion) and 2910/3000mAh. You pay a slight premium compared to the cheapest alternative on Ali, but maybe it's worth it. Dragon-tt has OEM batteries for sale (at least that's how they're promoting them), but they won't ship to Finland, so I couldn't order from there.
Anyone here who has experience with this brand's offerings? Let's see how it goes - I'll post back when I get it (in a month or so probably). *fingers crossed*
Edit: seems it'll take at least 2 months for it to arrive, since it can't be shipped by air to Finland.

I very much don't recommend you to buy this phone at that price, you have sooooo many other option, Umdigi and other Chinese less known brands often are a problem when in comes to Customer services. Same when you need to flash ROMs on it or have a problem with it, no devs are buying this.
Plus if you have trust issues with Chinese products, this one won't fit your expectations.
Please don't buy that. Just for the price point, that would be a loss for you.
Okay what do you suggest with about the same size screen and the same horsepower that chipset is slightly faster than a 730 g I looked also it needs to have bands for for Sprint so if you know of anything with a screen size that size and slightly more horsepower than a 7:30 g and 6 GB of RAM in that price range let me know thank you

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite seems to fit your expectations. Idk the price where you live, but for me it's close to 250$ (270€). It might be because of a sale, but if you want those specs, wait a bit longer till you have more budget or till the price is down to 250$.
Have a good day
The Umidigi S5 pro is a good phone. I have used it for over 8 months and I love it. Very fast and have had no hiccups. If you are overly concerned about it being a Chinese product (Which most of the phones are manufactured in Asian countries) then throw a custom rom on it. One that I know works for it is Havoc OS which is perfect because it is classified as a gaming phone.
