Replacement Battery - which one is best? - Xiaomi Mi 5 Accessories

Does anyone know where to get a replacement original or good quality OEM battery for the Mi5 (BM22)?
My battery life has turned pretty poor (sometime the phone will switch off when it claims it has 20% left) etc and I usually get just over 2.25 hrs SOT.
Have tried different ROMs, battery calibration etc but think the issue may be the battery itself so looking to replace.
All the ones on Aliexpress are OEM and no brands I recognize. Any advise on which is best?
Thanks, Chada

I'd like to know too, I can find many batteries on eBay and Aliexpress but I don't know if they're good or not

I bought one from ebay. It worked as good as a new one for a month. After that the battery doesn't want to charge. Checked with different chargers but Ampere shows the charging current at around 150mah. Don't buy from ebay.

That's been my experience with every single replacement battery I've ever ordered online. We have a local Xiaomi repair centre, I can message them to see if we can buy OEM batteries from them directly?

Yeah, apparently they are not willing to sell to the public directly. I can only submit my phone for repairs.

I just ordered a "Nohon" battery for my mi5. Specs are Li-Po (as original, not Li-Ion) and 2910/3000mAh. You pay a slight premium compared to the cheapest alternative on Ali, but maybe it's worth it. Dragon-tt has OEM batteries for sale (at least that's how they're promoting them), but they won't ship to Finland, so I couldn't order from there.
Anyone here who has experience with this brand's offerings? Let's see how it goes - I'll post back when I get it (in a month or so probably). *fingers crossed*
Edit: seems it'll take at least 2 months for it to arrive, since it can't be shipped by air to Finland.

It think its a pretty good deal.
Beware that cheap batteries from HongKong/China tend to not hold charge at what they are listed and have much less battery life.
Either if they are from US or Hong Kong, it doesn't really matter. If you purchase them from the states, where do you think they came from? For 9.98 I'm willing to give it a shot.

I'm waiting to hear about this. The EVO ones have I think close to 8000 sold now, and a lot of people are claiming that they're as good as stock OEM.
With any luck, this is the same deal and if that's the case I'm grabbing one, no questions asked.

Thank for the info. I just ordered the $9.95 package from Ebay. Free shipping too. Ya can't go wrong for that price.
just ordered it, figured 10 bucks is worth the risk. Would be a steal if they are even half as good.
First time every buying anything from eBay but even at an $11 loss, I think it's worth it.
If it arrives, I'll make sure to let everyone know how it holds up.
Bought one yesterday too!
Will report my findings!
one thing to note is that the specs say that the output for DC is only 350mA +/-50mA which means it will charge pretty darn slowly... nonetheless, can't complain for $10!

The wall charger that comes with these batteries is a trickle charger. This is similar to how your battery is charged via a usb port on your computer.

I wanted a genuine Samsung battery and was willing to pay a fair price for it, its made for a phone thats only sold in the US so it stands to reason that the battery would have to be imported.
With a clean install of stock 2.3.5, with wifi and GPS on I got 2 days 17h out of my 1 year old standard battery, that was with light use but still just under 3 hours of screen time and an hour of phone calls. I hope with this new battery I can get 24 hours+ with heavy use playing GTA3 for few hours
I very much doubt the battery you have got will be 1900mah, a copy of the 1500mah at best.
I'll do a test with the battery once I have done a few charges, I'll play a film on a loop and post the results

get the Anker 1800mah
Hey there,
I was having crazy battery life with my old battery, which on darky's ROM lasted about 10-12 hours and then on MIUI not more than 6-8 hours. I bought another one and it was definitely a fake by the looks of things, but the batterylife did not change that much. i bought the 1800mah ANKER from Amazon and it lasts about 18 hours easy. I bought mine in the US, but i have seen them on Amazon. Hope it helps.
Thanks. I've already ordered mine but if it's no good I'll get the one you recommended. I can't see any in the UK on amazon or ebay though?

I've buyed the Galaxy S Plus original baterry in hope that it will last longer...posting after getting it
I found one for £9 on Amazon.
It claims to be 3500 and it certainly doubles my battery life. Adds a bit of heft, but the cover doesn't obscure the camera.

[Q] Where to buy genuine HTC battery

I've been looking everywhere for a genuine original HTC Desire battery, but it seems impossible to find them! I've even ordered an expensive one from an eBay seller, but it's just a fake, which looks very similar on the front side but has different backside. It says "Manufactured by Formosa Electronic" in very small text.
Do you have experience that which of these sellers are posting genuine HTC batteries from Amazon?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B003L716YI/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new
Or should I just buy the German PolarCell from eBay?
http://www.ebay.de/itm/PolarCell-Ak..._PDA_Akkus&hash=item5ae53643c6#ht_1112wt_1140
Have you been able to recently find a genuine HTC battery for normal price, like around 10 pounds?
It's funny that you ask because I have been looking for a battery today. I found this website that appears to be genuine http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc.aspx but it isn't cheap (about £35).
I'll look forward to the feedback on your other options. I bought one for a Sony Xperia (not mine) for £8 from Amazon and it was fine, but the reviews for the Desire batteries don't look good.
Hi,
recently i bought a "geniue" Battery for my Desire on ebay from a german seller.
When it came, it appeared to be original, but when i installed it, it gave me constant voltage and temperature values. So it was a faked one. I sent it back and became one behaving exactly the same. So i got my money back.
The next one was on Amazon, but not directly from Amazon. It also looked original, but it didn`t fit perfectly and it didn`t even charge. I´m waiting for a replacement atm. I´m still hoping to get a good one. All were about 10 Euro
so 7 pound?
regards

eBay 101 - lesson one - when something looks too good to be true, chances are it isn't.
Original one is around 30€ from registered reseller, 40€ HTC original
I think it's worth telling which seller did we buy from.
The fake which looked almost like the original was from "phonemarketuk" on eBay.
Now I've ordered one from "FoneM8store" from Amazon UK. I'll report when it arrives!
Before I was able to buy an original one from a seller for 7 pounds, so there is hope!
If there is nothing else, I think the best route is to go with PolarCell from Germany.
I´m not sure if it is allowed to post seller´s names here?
I tested the one from Amazon with my battery tester. It had about 1000mAh so the problem is not only the missing of values, but it has also less capacity than the original. Mine has about 1200mAh after 1.2 years.
But the worst was when i applied 5Volts to the Battery, it didnt switch off. So
this could be dangerous if anything in the charger circuit goes wrong.
Hi,
a few days ago the replacement was delivered. This one is original, and has about 1300mAh, so it seems that it was liing around some time.
But all in all ok, cost: 9,60€
Seller: WUSAR (who wants to give it a try)
on ebay, only boxed versions
I've got mine from amazon.de. After two sellers sold me fake ones (in a little plastic bag) for about 10 Euro I bought one directly from amazon. The result: I got a little HTC Box which a genuine battery for about 15 Euros. I dont think amazon.co.uk will sell you fake ones if you buy them directly from them.
Can you post a link? In Amazon.co.uk at least I've spend _ages_ looking for a genuine but there was none, and Amazon wasn't selling any directly.

Hi!
HTC SAV recommended me the HTC Accessory Store as the official HTC reseller. The battery for HTC Desire is expensive (~40 Euros) but I'm bored searching for the cheapest OEM one after being deceived from 2 reputated sellers (not on ebay) with fake ones.
Has anyone ever ordered the battery from that site (htcaccessorystore.com which is in fact Expansys company) ?
And the real question is : is that the genuine one that came with the phone and can be calibrated... ?

I think the conclusion was that the only way to get genuine battery is to buy from the main Amazon.de shop. Be careful, not to by from a reseller, but from the amazon.de seller. Also, on this page one of them is fullfilled by amazon and it says 100% original, it might work.

[Q] Where do you by your batteries?

So I've seen many threads concerning ebay+batteries = fake. I'd like to ask you guys where you get the not-so-fake batteries from (online). I've seen a couple of places that sell the (supposedly) original ones (A-Grade?) along with another listing for the fake ones which they call 'wholesale' or R-Grade (not sure what the R is for).
I want to know if there are any trusted sources to get an original battery. Tried calling the dealers in my country and they said that they don't issue phone 'parts' unless it's given for repairs.
so yeah,. where do you guys get your batteries from?

If you want to guarantee your battery is OEM than you need to buy it from either your local carrier store, Samsung, or a big box retailer like Best Buy. However, if you do not mind the extra bulk I cannot make a higher recommendation for a Zerolemon Battery/Case. I would link it, but I am a newer user and cannot post links. It is easy to find on Amazon and the price is great at $41.99.

I buy direct from Amazon. In my case amazon.ca.
I work at a busy cell/computer repair shop so we wind up ordering 10+ batteries out per device at a time since you never know when a dozen iphones may come in. We pull our parts from Mengtor and Global Direct Parts.
As far as personal opinion goes, Mengtor parts are generally junk for new(ish) phones. Until it's been out for a year, at least, we pass on any mengtor orders even if we save a decent amount simply because returns are highly frowned upon by us and customers (obviously, who wants to bring their phone back again?). However, After a year, or even two of parts being revised and worked on we migrate over from GDP to Mengtor since the warranty process for faulty parts we order goes through faster and they've worked out the kinks in their junk by then.
Global Direct Parts on the other hand, have never let me down. Sure we've ordered junk parts that are dead on arrival but for the most part they are our main supplier for all, excluding iphone 4/4s and prior iphones (due to well, being over a year old and the previous issues are taken care of).
The cost on GDP right now for you would be 22.89 for a battery on an S4 for Verizon (Here to link)
Our cost is about 15-18$ depending on if they are pushing stock for new orders to their warehouse or willing to hold onto it. Warranty process has always been excellent as well for when we get a bunk battery, or other part. Also, they generally offer OEM and aftermarket parts depending on which you want. The link goes to an OEM variant. Hope this helps!

OEM from Amazon I believe is good.
can't go wrong with OEM
Either amazon or preferably the Samsung store.
I bought ones of these, $8.75 & free 2 day shipping with Amazon Prime.

I've always had good experiences with Anker. They're also available on Amazon, and unlike several of the knockoffs, they guarantee NFC compatibility if they list it.
If u can find a way of shipping items from china's tmall to ur place, they do hv authentic batteries from samsung's factories in china, with the retail packaging and all. It is a cheap option if u can find a way to save on shipping.
If not, I would just get anker batteries as they are reliable.

U could find any online seller that has the real deal for a cheaper price if u know how to spot fakes. Otherwise, if u really have to get the samsung one, u gotta pay more to buy it off the official retail stores.
As much as I hate paying Samsung for their horribly overpriced accessories, batteries included, I did end up buying my spare battery from Samsung, but I waited until they had a 50% off accessories sale. I wasn't in a rush, so I just waited until a sale came up. Call it a compromise.

this is the same battery like on a video - lithium-ion POLYMER
battery from the foto You added has only Chinese subtitles and a completely different label...everyone sells them as original but Your original looks different
Just bought a couple of supposedly "real" 4000mah batteries from Aliexpress. Both fake, only 2500mah. Pretty disappointing. Battery life is very ordinary, perhaps only 2hrs SOT. Any suggestions on a quality replacement?
Have You tried this?

Sercice Centre if its available
The best is to go to to service centre if there is in your area. otherwise, the screen would cost at least $5 if you go online and you'll have to take the pain of putting it together. I think ill have to do the same with my rn3.

No I haven't but I will try it next - just ordered one from Ebay since it was a bit cheaper.
I had mixed experience with NOHON. Some worked same as the originals, others failed at start (talking about different devices). On my old Redmi Note 2 one Nohon forced the phone to turn off completely when charging level reached 100%, another one worked fine. Had good experience with Nohon for LG G4, works perfectly fine.
I would give it a try, you can always ask for refund or new one if it fails.
GearBest also sells them for 11.50$

Any news about this?
Funny I was just about to come here to post about my experience with NOHON batteries.
Long story short - I'm not impressed. This is a 3000mah battery, tops. I'm only getting 3hrs SOT. Oh and it just shut down on me when taking a photo. I can't recommend it but it is a little better than the fake one I tried before.
My battery died this morning, I'm really lost, should I waste more money on this phone since the battery could me 2000mah and it could die in a month?
It's official mi store price....

Yep you are right. I got around to installing the battery. Its 12g lighter than the official battery (53 vs 41g). God damn I hate ebay. It won't even allow me to write a review of the seller
