fastboot 25R ota 30O ready ok, if i activate developer option at check ota the system says no update, i reset to factory at ota works again , since im om 33R and rooted using philz recovery, think this is very strange, i maybe not get the next 36R ota someone explain ?
Don't worry about it, just flash the OTA zip obtainable online after the OTA is pushed. Chances are the OTA just didn't get pushed to your phone, downloading the zip manually and flashing it is faster anyways.

no the ota is there when i check for update , just now i have root at install philz recovery at it still working , but when i activate the developer option i don't get the ota any more , so the problem is with the developer optione maybe som settings, when i try to turn off developer ota dont work, only thing that worked is to factory reset then ota worked again, strange, i will like to have ota working
Like I said before, don't worry about it. When the next OTA is available, a link will be posted online. Its the same file you will get if the OTA is pushed to your phone, just mirrored so you don't have to wait.
When that time comes, just download the zip and place it on your phone and flash it in Philz recovery. It will be faster than waiting for the next OTA to be pushed to your phone via notifications which can take days or even weeks.

There is no other easier way to do this?
I had in mind something like download the update to the pc and apply it to the phone with usb connection. Isnt that possible. Could this method I thought brick the phone?

you can install CWM.
Then make a full backup. You can move it on your pc or let it take space on your phone.
After that you can apply any patches via CWM or install root or whatsoever
When your phone will show the next update you should:
1) Boot into CWM and recover your backup. BUT! You should recover only part of it. The system part.
backup and restore -> advanced restore from /sdcard -> choose your backup -> restore system
2) wait till it complete.
Now you can delete your backup.
Reboot your phone (reboot system now)
After that you will see 2 messages and if you wanna be able to apply ota you have to make the right choises
Q: ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix?
A: NO
Q: Root access is missing. Root device?
A:NO
After all that steps you'll get:
1) clear system part (which means no root, modified files etc)
2) default recovery
I've read "mixed" opinions about this; some say rooted devices lose updates and some say otherwise. I've also heard that if you flash ROM A on top of ROM B that's your original ROM, and you get signature errors you no more receive OTA updates. By the way, I was able to receive OTA updates on my Asia Retail XT1033 that was flashed to Retail UK XT1032. It would be cool if some senior member here shed some light on this subject.

I think that people who have reported that they can't apply the OTA update had messed their /system partition in other ways than just rooting.
I've studied the update package and all it does is that it first checks if the files (and only those files) that are going to be updated are untampered with and if everything is allright, they are patched.
To sum it up - you can have extra files on your /system folder (like the su binary), but all of the updated files must be stock. The updater really doesn't care if su, xposed or other mods are present.

No, disabled apps are still where they are supposed to be. The OTA updater checks if the file is there (it is), if the fingerprint matches (it does) and then it patches the app even when it's disabled.
I am rooted on locked bootloader. My tablet just downloaded the 5.0.1 update. Has anyone flashed this yet and kept root? Not sure where the download is stored on the file system in case of sideloading or flashing from CWM. Thanks.
Hi. Inside the update ZIP there are some hash checks of the system partition, so what is needed is rebuilding ota update ZIP, which I can't do atm.
didn't work for me
Im 5.0 rooted with unlocked bootloader, using CWM.
After downloading, it restarted to cwm and installation failed. Didn't take a picture or write down the details; making a second attempt now, will report back. Did not lose root during install attempt.
Mine is failing because CWM seems to be telling it I'm still on Android 4.4.2.
same here

Until someone rebuilds the update to remove the checks you will keep getting an error.
Ok. Here is what I did on my locked bootloader shield:
1. Download the full 5.0.1 US LTE zip and SuperSU 2.40.
2. Entered CWM, flashed 5.0.1, then SuperSU, wipe cache partition, and reboot. Done.
Nothing to it. Only thing now, how do I remove the OTA notice I keep getting to update? It seems that the incremental update had downloaded and now it keeps prompting me to flash even though I manually updated with the full version. Anyone know how to get around this? Thanks.
EDIT: I used the command 'pm disable com.nvidia.ota' and so far seems to have fixed it.

Do you have the wifi 16 us or the 32 LTE us?
One huge problem here is that every time I fail to install, I get prompted to download the update again. It makes it VERY SLOW to do trial and error. Every time I accept the update it then boots into TWRP and I don't know what to do to install the update.
Please advise.
You can sideload the 5.1 update, more info here on sideloading http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/info-nexus-5-ota-help-desk-t2523217
You need to be totally stock to be able to update via OTA if I am not mistaken, meaning no root, no custom ROM, not custom recovery, your best bet now is to flash the OTA zip for 5.1

Hi folks, so, I received OTA update for my Moto G (XT1032).
Phone was rooted (I did unroot from SuperSU). Also, I've re-installed Stock recovery (to make sure) and wiped cache/dalvik.
But, update still fails.
I don't have much root-related soft (like Xposed etc) installed - so pretty sure this should not cause an issue.
But still, update fails.
Any ideas how to troubleshoot/make it work? Maybe installing OTA somehow from recovery (custom one, TWRP)?
Any comments - much appreciated. I guess I'm not alone in this, but still...
Thanks

Yep, my guess was the same. As per official recovery - I'll try adb sideload, but first time it couldn't find phone (all drivers installed and up-to-date).

Well, I might misunderstood, but:
I have official recovery (fastboot is mode of it, I guess, when U press Power+volume key?)
I've read about adb sideload zip_name_of_OTA.zip
I don't know any other way to install OTA apart from let phone handle it OR adb sideload.

Got this, screenshot in attachment.
Fingerprints are wrong. In build.prop - I can see it's fine, fingerprint of current 4.4.4. - matches expected.
But as soon as update starts - it says that 4.4.2 is fingerprint of my OS. Bollocks.
Edited OTA zip, edited some metadata file...
Why it won't install on pretty clean phone - I can't understand...Previous installs of OTA went fine with root etc.

To anyone having issues:
1. Make sure you're on completely stock 4.4.4 (Refer to http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-stock-motorola-rom-collection-t2854688 and use only untouched 4.4.4 version for your phone if you have to reflash before continuing)
2. Make sure you're on stock recovery (Refer to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649763)
*Uninstall XPOSED if using it
3. I personally let update run on its own after reverting everything to stock.

The solution is backup data, restore stock last firmware using fastboot guide posted in this forum and not even update apps (cancel gmail registration and everything it asks when it first starts) ONLY update motorola update services so you can get the ota again an install it. If you have the ota downloaded you can flash it through recovery but using the last recovery version (.61) and of course last firmware version. If you guys flash it all through fastboot, it should install w/o any problems.
I contacted nokia support, they told me I won't get the update if i rooted my device. Is there still a way? Thanks.

Boot to recovery (**** down, hold the power button and up buttons for about 10 secs. You should see a countdown screen. Once the screen finishes counting down, release the buttons. You should enter recovery). If you see no command or the regular recovery, it's probably stock. If you see twrp then it's definitely a custom recovery.
If on the other hand, your problem is that you're not getting any ota update notifications on your phone,
you can try this method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-5/development/how-to-install-oreo-8-1-v5-580-nokia-5-t3770725
Warning, you will lose all the data on your phone so I will advise you to backup before you follow the procedure

Of course you can. I still get ota updates regularly, although after updating, I have to reroot my phone. And if you check this forum you'll find a thread on how to root your phone while on Oreo without having to unlock bootloader using spflashtool. Actually the spflashtool is used to flash twrp, then you can root your phone from there, but your bootloader has to have been unlocked once before
What do i do now
