Sometimes I receive MMS messages fine, but recently some come through as just an exclamation point in a triangle, and even when saved to the gallery they just appear as a placeholder image but not the actual image. What I've been doing is emailing myself the image and I can view it fine on my pc but the G3 just shows it as an exclamation point. See attached image. Any thoughts? (If it matters, the images are coming from an iphone user). And just a few min after receiving the bad picture I received another one fine. So I suspect its a property of the image being sent

So I've got a few problems that seemed to have cropped up with my HTC Dream (hence the vague title!)
I'm running Android 1.5, Rogers Post-E911 firmware - I'd imagine that in itself is a problem, but whatever!
The main problem I'm having currently is that my phone keeps losing connection to the network. It says I have perfect connection/full bars, but any outbound calls just bounce me back to the home screen, any outgoing texts get the "Could not be sent" error, and anyone trying to contact me gets a message saying my phone is unavailable. I've factory reset my phone several times but this keeps happening.
The second problem I'm having is that a lot of the time when I start my phone, I get an error saying "Android.Process.Acore is not responding". Forcing it to close leaves me with a blank screen (background image with no icons). Telling it to wait just sends me to my regular home screen, and nothing appears to be wrong after that.
Both of these issues have been ongoing since about a month after purchasing the phone (Pre-E911) but have increased in frequency since the update.
Now I realize that the Dream is nowhere near the cream of the crop these days, but it's my only phone currently, so hopefully the geniuses on XDA Forums can solve my problem =D
Nobody? ~bump~
Hello all,
I apologize if I'm posting a "duh" question, I'm a newbie to Android (I defected from an iPhone 3GS -- and loving it!). I've searched by any terms I can think of and I can't seem to come across a post about this.
When I want to share a photo, so far I've gone into the gallery, looked at the photo, hit the share button, by Gmail, and a new message pops up. I address it, put in a subject, yada yada, and press send. It says "Sending Message..." or whatever it says to indicate the message should be on its way, but it sits in the outbox. It has a red "Sending" in the listing with it, but it just sits there. Over 3G or Wifi, it doesn't appear to send.
I can go back into Gallery, and share it to any other apps, namely Twitter or Picasa, and it uploads in a few seconds, but the gmail message just sits there.
Am I sharing pics wrong, and I doing something else wrong? Any help/info/advice is appreciated.
Thanks!
Yesterday I saw the same thing in my phone.
I went to gallery, selected 3 pictures, sent them through gmail. The phone just said "sending..." and the email just sat in the outbox for a couple of hours.
I then deleted that first email from the outbox and tried again with just one picture. Nothing... same result.
I rebooted my phone and the "sync" icon appeared on the top bar. This made the phone to send the email.
The weird thing is that both emails were sent. the second one, and the deleted one.
i have newer version of captivate with gps fixed but few days ago it stopped sending text message although it can still receive text messages.
normally after sending message, it usually displays time stamp under the text but when it does not work it just displays "sending" as status indefinitely.
phone is rooted and has gingerbread i believe.
I also called customer center service and they did not see any issue from the point of service provider.
Anyone has experienced the issue? Thanks,
I'd have them check again to make sure that text is setup right on your account.
Beyond that what have you changed recently. Typically something like texting wont just stop working on the phone without something having been changed.
Is the ROM that's on there one you flashed? If so back it up, reflash to a clean state and see if text works. Then restore a bit at a time and see when it fails.

somebody also had this problem and he did a factory reset and he was able to send messages again but he is saying that he has lost his root although it's not possible
here is the link to thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540652
DID factory reset and now can send message. but cant root it back. crappy phone. tried from both of my laptop and desktop machine using odin v1.81. problem never gets around captivate.
Do the heimdall flash of KK4 or Apex ROM. Same as stock, but with root and all the problems gone.
So I got this LG G Stylo a couple of weeks ago. its with cricket. when I first got it everything fine.
Then within the last few days everytime I send an image to someone ..regardless what network they're on , on their end the image is stamped with yesterday's date and a few hours behind so its like 28hrs behind
now when I send a regular text ...the time and date show up fine. I've switched the stock MMS and used Textra, hangouts..etc they all do the same thing, the text is fine but an image is always back dated and sometimes the image will just not be sent, like when I used Text sms Ultra . Images i get from other people via text are fine with correct date..its ONLY my images I send out.
I've gone into setting unchecked the automatic date boxes for "carrier" date and time, the auto time zone thingy too. I thought maybe it was my wifi so I disable that on my phone...and nothing.
The ONLY thing different is that I did root my phone, but everything else works, before the root I didn't have this problem. But I can't say it was the root because I THINK it started happening after root but im not sure since I don't send many images via text
any ideas ??
thanks
Odd issue with two phones. Both S6 Actives on ATT. At some point (I assume after an update, we are up to 5.1.1) photos stopped auto compressing/resizing when sending via txt. I know for a fact that it was functioning when we first got them. It doesn't matter if we take the pic then share t or if we capture the pic within the stock txt app.
I have googled to no avail and checked every seting I can think of. Anyone else encounter this. It's annoying sending 8mb pics via txt.
