I have just bought a chinese Note II clone.

The phone seems to be unable to handle SIM properly. On every start I get the error message:

SIM Toolkit is also unable to start. When I start or receive a call, the display goes blank or just flashes up for a moment. (This problem is resolved already, see here)
I was told it is most likely a firmware error. On searching, I didn't find this model or similar in the forum. I also tried several rooting methods described here without success.

Unfortunately is often quite difficult to get support for those Chinese clone devices. I hope you'll find someone that can help you but I think your best bet is to ask the seller for a replacement.

At least I could root. Then I could try some custom ROM at my own risk.
Don't install ROMs from Galaxy Note II threads beacuse chinese versions of phones isn't the same that samsung's devices! You may brick the phone

It was never in my mind. This is why I posted here. But the question is still academic, since firmware update requires rooting (as far as I know) and I am unable even to root.
Proximity sensor
The problem of blank/flashing screen during calls has been resolved. The proximity sensor needed a proper calibration. I did the calibration many times so far, but not the correct way. I have just figured out how it should be done effectively.
pls teach me.

It is actually a simple process. Locate your proximity sensor, it is a small LED-like thing next to the speaker, on either side. Look for calibration of proximity sensor, you can find it usually amongst the display options. Tap on it, target-like concentric circles appear and the application asks you to place some obstacles over the sensors. The easiest way is to hold your palm above the sensor approx. 5 cm (2 inches) apart. Touch the Start button, and then try to complete the process with your hand motionless. The whole process takes a few seconds. If you did everything right, during a call, holding the phone to your ear the screen goes blank, and the phone application re-appears when moving the phone away.

I have the exact same phone as you but mine seems to be working fine. I've tried to root it and there is no way I can find to root it. Especially since my boot menu is in Chinese! I would give you my ROM if I knew how.
I guess buyers should run the risk when buying clone phone. Asking replacement seems to be the answer.

I bought it new, this operating normally not installed anything bought for resale in my store, the menu it is in recovery mode chines do not know how to back up if you know tell me that I send to you.

You may try to flash the original factory ROM via Flash Tool, if your phone still can be recognized.
Btw. root access can be gained by replacing the Chinese recovery with CWM recovery, then installing SU from CWM recovery.
Successfully rooted
I have just successfully rooted my phone. The process was as follows:
I replaced the Chinese factory recovery mode with CWM recovery via Flash Tool.
Started the phone with CWM recovery and installed a superuser package from it.
If anybody interested, I can provide links to files needed along with description of the process.

Flashing CWM Recovery and install root
Download CWM_and_root_flash.rar from here.
Unpack the archive with its folder structure to a path not containing any special characters.
Flashing CWM Recovery:
Turn off the phone without connected to the computer.
Take out the battery and insert it back after a few seconds.
(If the driver is already installed, continue with step 5) Connect the phone to the computer with USB cable. The operating system will detect a new device - direct the wizard to the folder containing the driver (for your version of OS)
[*]When driver is installed, disconnect the cable from the computer.
Run the program SP Flash Tool.

Push the button Scatter-loading and select the file MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt (it is in the folder CWM Recovery).
IMPORTANT! Make sure, only RECOVERY is selected in the image list, otherwise the phone could stop working!
Push the button Download.
Connect the phone to the computer. The program should recognize it and start flashing.
If the phone is not detected, then unplug it from the computer, remove and insert the battery and re-connect to the computer.
Also the new hardware wizard may pop up again - just let it install the driver automatically.
When flashing is complete, disconnect the phone.
Boot the phone normally to check everything works properly.
Installing root (Superuser):
Save MT6577 blk0p3 Root by CWM-SuperSU 0.99 angelobiz.zip on SD card (internal SD card is preferred).
Turn off the phone and reboot it in recovery mode by keeping pressed Volume+ and Power buttons simultaneously.
You enter CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.2 you have just flashed. (Navigate with V+/- and choose with PWR)
Choose "install zip from sdcard" from the main menu.
Either select "choose zip from sdcard" from the next menu if you saved the zip on the external SD card
or select "choose zip from internal sdcard" if you saved the zip on the internal SD card.
Navigate to the zip and press the Power button. When the installation process is complete, reboot the phone normally.
Superuser application is now installed and you can check the root status with a root checker application.

Rooting & Unrooting Funbook Infinity P275
Android rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets and other devices running android to attain privileged control (known as "root access") within Android's subsystem.
There are two methods for rooting our Funbook Infinity :
1) Root Many Android! by Bin4ry
2) Super One Click by CLShortFuse
Both are very easy methods, but I prefer using Universal Rooting Script by Bin4ry. However, I will post how to root in both methods!
Preparing Funbook Infinity For Rooting :
1) On your infinity tablet, go to Settings- -> Developers options and tap on USB debugging to check (tick) the USB debugging on.
2) Connect the Funbook Infinity with your Windows Computer via USB cable.
3) If it is the first time that you have connected your tablet to your computer, then allow windows to Automatically Install the Drivers for you.
4) Change the Connectivity Option from MTP to Mass Storage in Settings --> Storage --> Options --> USB computer connection
If the drivers are not installed automatically then you nedd to install them manually. Go to 3rd post for the guide on installing ADB drivers manually.
Note : Remove your SD Card from your Tab.
METHOD 1 :
Root Many Android! BY BIN4RY
1) Download Root_With_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v31 : HERE or HERE [OP LINK]
2) Extract & Double-Click RunMe.bat
3) Follow the instructions
4) Connect your tablet to the computer.
5) Then, the program will ask you to go to the tablet and
tap Restore My Data. Do it.
6) Wait till it finishes. Your tablet will restart once.
7) Once the program is done, press Enter.
8) Your Funbook Infinity will be rooted.
METHOD 2 :
Super One Click by CLShortFuse
Note : The program requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0+ or Mono v1.2.6+
1) Download SuperOneClick Root v2.3 : HERE [ORI LINK]
2) Open SuperOneClick.exe
3) Click the Root button and wait for a few minutes.
4) You can select Yes, if you would like to test it.
5) Your Funbook Infinity will be rooted.
Unroot Your Funbook Infinity:
i) Use Root_with_Restore_v31
Select the Unroot Option from the list.
ii) Use SuperOneClick
Click on Unroot on the SuperOneClick.exe window.

Prerequisite :
Your Funbook Infinity Must Be Rooted In Order To Install CWM.
Credits to dolorespark for posting this.
1) Downlad CWM_6028_P275.zipfrom HERE [Dev-Host]
and Novo_Tools.apk from HERE
2) Put both Novo_Tools_1_0.apk and recovery.img in /sdcard of your Funbook Infinity.
3) Install Novo_Tools_1_0.apk as a normal app.
4) Open NovoTools and grant SU (SuperUser) permissions.
5) Click Flash Recovery in NovoTools and wait for few seconds.
6) Next Click Enter Recovery in NovoTools and You will go to CWM Recovery 6.0.2.8.
Note :
i) If You Want to Go To Recovery :
ii) Switch Off the Tab.
iii) Press and Hold Home And Power Keys at the same time.
or
Use Novo_Tools.(Enter Reocvery option)
Note : This updated CWM reocvery contains the *** Go Back *** option which favours devices like P275 which doesn't sport back or volume rocker button.
Installing P275 ADB Drivers :
If your tab is not rooted, even after trying both Methods, then the problem must be the ADB drivers. Here is a guide for installing them.
1) First, download the P275-Drivers.rar from HERE [Dev-Host] and Extract it anywhere in your PC.
2) Go to Settings > Developer Options > (and tick) USB Debugging ON
3) Connect your tablet to your PC via USB Cable.
4) Open Device Manager (Seach in Start)
5) Under Other Devices, you will see Android with a caution symbol.
Note : If you do not see the Android with a caution symbol, then ADB drivers are already installed in your PC and you don't need to continue...
6) Right-Click on Android and select Update Drivers and a dialog box will appear. Select Browse my Computer for Driver Software
7) Browse for the folder that you extracted earlier and click OK.
8) A warning will appear. Click Install the driver software anyway.The ADB drivers will be installed.
9) The caution symbol will disappear and you will see Android Composite ADB Interface.

Yeah, the V2 contains the Virint folder which will be copied to our sdcard...
But, the V2 is compatible with both the variants of Infinity..

But I want to know how to go back to stock recovery after installing CMW?
The only reason I think I will go back to stock is in situation where in I have to take the tab to the service centre.

maybe ...just maybe ...flashing the image through livesuit might install the stock recovery...

Hi All,
I flashed the otherwise fabulous Jamaal's Google Experience ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544474 ).
My problem is, when the phone goes in standby, it loses its mobile carrier.
To reconnect I need to go to settings > mobile networks > mobile networks settings > network carriers.
Phone searches available carriers, finds mine among others (I have vodafone). I select it and then it works great... until next standby.
I saw some other people had this same issue (it is posted also on the ROM's thread), but did not find a solution or workaround.
Mu device details:

As described in this article, possible solution is:
If you are facing mobile network issues, make sure to update your modem to MK9. You will need to flash the modem using ODIN as it is not currently possible to flash a modem using a custom recovery on the Qualcomm variant of the Galaxy S4.

Hi, in case someone had the same problem I post the solution that worked for me.
Now I'm using Google Experience RC1 and all is working great
1. Installed HEIMDALL.
2. Open terminal in the folder with the modem.bin file
3. Boot SGS4 in DOWNLOAD MODE.
4. Connected to my Mac with the USB cable
5. Find out the modem partition name through command: heimdall print-pit : lists all partitions details.
The partition we are interested in is the partition containing the file modem.bin. Note down the partition name (on my device was: MDM).
After the command execution the device will reboot.
6. Repeat 3 and 4
7. Launch command: heimdall flash --[modem partition name from point 5] modem.bin
Wait patiently until it finished. Device will reboot by itself and if you prayed strong enough all will work fine.

hello i'm trying to find any roms root tools etc for this device (tablet) .. ive soent hours looking ..
so im posting here .. this device says it rooted on root checker .. but cant install binaries in SU ..ive tried the rootx tool and It cant find device .. so im looking for drivers also ..

I started out trying to use the ext sd as the internal mem so im going to reroot and start from there there are 3 storage devices ..

EXTSD 32GB
The internal is full nearly so would like more internal storage I have moved apps to sd but still low ..

Ok h ave finaly done it.. found a driver pack and installed the android adb interface driver . in device manager it says Samsung android phone and then in sub menu Android ADB interface I re rooted with Eroot .. now super user is installed and titanium backup logs the apps etc ( which it didn't do before hand ) ..
I also email the seller for support if I get any I will post on here ..

Wi-Fi mac address never goes away even after flashing Rom or during the error, so you can get it from
Settings > About phone > Status > Wi-Fi Mac address

hey i have canvas hd 116 and i flash it by aosb 4.4.4 rom bt i forgot about taking backup...so now i have face problem with imei and WiFi network....so how can i solve this problem plz help me out.............i cant use WiFi......i can start sim by manually inserting imei no but i cant turn of WiFi it automatically turns off.....wifi address unavailable
