[Q] ~~Galaxy S Blaze broken screen can't get files off, please read worth the time!~~ - Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G

HOW I BROKE MY PHONE So basically a week or two back I got pretty angry and I had literally just woken up 1-2 minutes before, so I was grumpy too. Lets just say I grabbed my phone to check the time realized I was very late for work, and got pissed 'cause my girlfriend was sitting there getting dressed for work, and she knew I had to work that day at like I think 10 and it was already 12, and I assumed she didn't tell me because the night before we got into a fight over stupid **** and hadn't made up before going to bed. Well at this point I was grumpy, furious, and I had the phone in my hand, and 'cause when I'm mad I get pretty impulsive, so threw it at the floor which is wood, and I hurled that mofo pretty hard. My Galaxy S BLAZE has survived so many throws, and very hard falls I did it with even less thought than even a cat killin a mouse it was just almost instinct 'cause not like I cold hit my girl like I may be impulsive but I know the dif. between right and wrong, and I've been working on not hitting stuff as hard as I can just to get some anger out (e.g. my oak dresser which is sturdy as hell, my wooden night stand which is not one bit sturdy, like stuff that wont break, ya know, not like my drywall well walls, or my T.V. etc.), or whoopin my own ass just to let it out, I know I shouldn't break my own stuff cause I'm pissed, and this phone is the first thing I've ever actually broken because I'm pissed besides one time I did punch the wall, but that's about it. But now we need to move on what I need your guy's help with.
Tl;Dr: I got mad, hurled my phone at the floor.

HOW I WOULD APPRECIATE YOU, THE PEOPLE OF XDA'S HELP IF YOU AWESOME PEOPLE WERE TO HELP ME OUT Here's the run down, it still turns on, the screen does not work at all, when connected to a computer it comes up with Samsung SGH-T769 at the my computer window as a connected device, but when I click on it, it just shows no files inside though normally it would have two files in the main SGH-T769 file when connected to my comp: One file for internal storage, and one for the SD card, I have already taken out the SD card, and put it in my new Galaxy S 5 just incase any one was gunna say that haha. The thing is though I have alot of stuff still on that phone I really want to get off, I did root the galaxy S BLAZE days ago and do have a backup for CWM from may/april of this year. Though I'm not sure if it was just of the system, etc. and not of the actual data with my files, pictures, etc. so I'm going to find a way to get that back up open, and see whats it there, but even if it is a full back up the problem is its 5 months old, and has alot of stuff is not on it from recently too that I would like to get off my phone, I'm going to also post some pictures down below of the phone now, and of the files, and what happens when I click on them, when the S BLAZE is hooked up to my comp. and it shows up as a usb device, mass storage, etc.
Tl;Dr: You best read this part because it explains what I need help, with, and if you ain't gunna read this, then how are you gunna help?

NOW LOOK AT THE ATTACHMENTS PLEASE, FOR SOME PICTURES:
THE FIRST PICTURE IS OF WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE NOW THAT IT'S BROKE:
Just FYI in the left two pictures of the phone in the first image, the buttons on the bottom are glowing like they would usually its not just the flash making 'em look that way, and that's also how I know it still, "sorta" works, but to what extent, I don't know haha.
THE SECOND PICTURE IS OF WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I TRY TO OPEN THE PHONE AS A STORAGE DEVICE ON THE COMPUTER:Usually when I would click on it, before I broke it, there would be two folders one for internal Memory, and one for the SD card, and just p.s. the micro sd card works just fine , on other phones, and in a sd card slot adapter for it, but when I put it in the broken GALAXY S BLAZE it still doesn't show up either, and I don't know any other way to get to internal memory besides through connecting the phone to my computer, which isn't working, but internal memory the more important one, sadly has no easy to access slot for removing/transfering between devices, but also if someone can find a TUT on maybe how to take apart a GALAXY S BLAZE, and get to that internal memory, and then hooke it up to your computer or something somehow, directly, and get all your data off of it, I would forever be grateful, and if it was simple enough to do immediatly you'd also instantly win the prize once I was done.

JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW I APPRECIATE ANY AND ALL HELP YOU GUYS CAN GIVE ME AND I'M SORRY ONE OF MY FIRST POSTS IS A PLEA FOR HELP INSTEAD OF A CONTRIBUTION BUT BECAUSE I LIKE THIS SITE, AND HAVE ALWAYS LURKED ON IT FOR ANY HELP I EVER NEEDED FOR AN ANDROID, AND WITHOUT AN ACCOUNT UP UNTIL NOW, BUT FOR ANYONE WHO EVER CAN HELP ME SOLVE MY CONUNDRUM, AND WHAT EVER THERE ADVICE, OR GUIDE OR WHAT EVER THEY POST THAT DOES FIX/SOLVE THIS PROBLEM I WILL GIVE TO THEM A SMALL TOKEN OF APPRECIATION MAYBE GIFT THEM A 5$ DOLLAR STEAM GAME OR SOMETHING, I KNOW IT ISN'T MUCH BUT MOST PEOPLE WOULDN'T OFFER ANY SORT OF COMPENSATION FOR HELP, BUT ME I PREFER NOT TOO MOOCH, TOO MUCH AND JUST SO THERE'S NO CONFUSION ILL DO A EXAMPLE OF HOW TO GET THAT GAME, OR WHAT EVER I DECIDE TO GIVE OUT.
POSTER 1: maybe it is a problem with the plug.
POSTER 2:Have you tried more than one micro usb cord?
POSTER 3:What it is, is you need to disassemble the phone, and re-sauter the usb plugin, and then it should work.
Now in this case poster 3 would get it, because the other two may have been helpful but were much more vague, and mostly just guessing, while lets say in this case poster 3 was exactly right, and his "guide" fixed my phone, but because he was also much more exact. Also please don't take the example as if you have a suggestion, but it is sorta vague, or obvious, don't be discouraged I still want to hear it, and you never know maybe the most obvious suggestion, is the one that'll work, 'cause sometimes that ends up being the case, but if it comes down to multiple people being right, but some were vaguer, and less helpful than others, I am going to pick the one that helped me most.
Tl;Dr: I appreciate any help, but who ever solves this for me gets a prize.

Asus P525 - Invalid or missing sim card ???

Hi All, I've down a fair bit of web searching but haven't found a reason as to why this would be happening. So here goes:
Basically, I bought the Asus P525 when it was about 9 months old, and after about 4 months it decided to flash this up on my screen - Invalid or Missing Sim Card. It seemed to fix itself, however, and I had another week of using it. Then, it did it again, and fixed itself again shortly after, but it wasn't long before it was dong it so often that the phone became unusable. It would flash that up, and usually stay that way, it would become a rarer thing for it to fix itself. So, back to my crappy old nokia with half working buttons I went, telling myself I should ring an Asus repair center and talk to them about it. Anyway, a couple of months later I got around to ringing them, they told me they'd probably have to replace the mainboard, and it could cost me more to do that than to get a replacement phone. Not very impressed as I was, I decided to boot the phone back up, and amazingly it worked again, and gave me another week of usage before packing it in. Now it's stopped working, so I tried different roms and different firmware, to see if that would fix it... nope.
So here I am. Anybody experienced this? Any idea what I can do? I don't have heaps of bucks to throw around on phones, I really like this phone except for this obvious problem, so would like to keep using it. But I don't think the future looks bright for it
Any help is extremely appreciated.
Thanks
Matt
Seems I've asked the impossible...? Anybody have any ideas? I'm going out of my brain trying to work this one out...
Matt
It seems noone in this part of the forum likes to answer questions I'm afraid.
As to your problem, it's likely a hardware fault and theres a loose connection betweeb SIM and phone somewhere.
You could try cleaning the contacts with an electrical contact cleaner solution sprayed on a cotton bud and wipe the pins that sit on the SIM.
Maybe you could also try using a needle underneath the pins and gently pull them up so that they make better contact with the SIM (maybe some are bent).
Bear in mind, I have no experience with this device and the sensible option would be to take it to a repair shop for service.
Hope that helps.
yeah I know what you mean
Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried to bend the pins up but that didn't work. I haven't tried cleaning the contacts... sadly though I think that may not be the issue. I'll definitely give that a go, I'll try just about anything, because obviously if I can't get it to work it will just sit in my girlfriend's car so she can use the maps and camera on it. Seems such a sad waste really...
thanks again for your help
Matt
I just powered it up, and it's working again. God knows for how long though... could it be a battery or cpu issue?

[Q] Is it safe to keep my phone right next to or on top of my computer?

Is it safe to keep my Samsung Vibrant right next to or on top of my computer? it's a pretty convenient location
edit: safe for my phone*
I dont think so, that your computer make a damage if you put your Mobile on the top of your computer. My phone is always on my desk to be controlled if i got sms, phone calls etc.

I dont think so
I don't think there's any problems with it, unless your phone has some crazy vibrations lol
There doesn't seem to be any evidence either way, which should mean there can't be a problem with it (because if there was a problem with it, it would have been noticed by now, and studied or at least posted on a site somewhere)
I've had my phones on my PC for a long time, and had no troubles with it. It doesn't cause any heat because it's near the top, and the vibration barely moves it. Only problem is if I drop it or hit it from the PC myself
Edit: Forgot to mention, while looking I found this interesting link

Im nervous about getting mine to close to the router with wifi on. I don't like the antennas that close together. At the power levels were talking about I'm sure I'm just being paranoid but when I was running a bunch of ham radios I learned about something called front end overload. This is when a strong transmitter being to close to a receiver overloads the receiver's circuitry. Keep in mind I have never heard of this being a problem for anyone and maybe I'm thinking too much.
The links was funny, biological virus?

Sent from my DL DesireHD v1.0 internal

is there any way to access the internal sd card and remove it?

My mt4gs ended up bricking itself one day during a charge. won't turn on...tried every method to turn it on. Concluded that it's hard bricked. Only thing it does (every once in a while), is give me a dim red light in the trackpad. in summary, phone's dead.
One Problem:
I have crucial info stored in the phone's internal memory. I'm willing to sacrifice the phone (and any chance to unbrick it) simply for the data. is there any way I could open up the phone and access the internal SD card and remove it? Does it even use an actual SD card for internal memory? Anyone know? Thanks
im guessing the mt4gs uses emmc. is there any way to pull data off the emmc? even though a phone is bricked
the only thing I can think of is if someone has jtag knowledge and also knows where to make the connections. not even sure if you could pull info from the nand or if you can only write. this isn't the same as a computer harddrive and getting info of a dead flash device is trick (as far as I know)
id suggest googling to see if someone local has the ability. hey who knows, maybe there is someone who could restore your phone as well

Thanks for the response. Finding someone who has that knowledge wont be easy. I tried contacted jtag brick repair service but no response from them
Funny you should make such a thread...just had something very similar happen to my original doubleshot.
Was playing netflix out to tv, wasn't watching at the time my back was turned, and it just shut off and won't turn on.
Was at full charge, and swapped through 6 different fully charged batteries and couldn't get it to turn on...just a dim light in the trackpad, solid...no flashes.
I left it behind me, i am in long island, new york city this week putting it back together...so leaving things like the doubleshot behind was at the expense of things like the 14 gallons of gas in cans i'm carrying or the wealth of first aid supplies, so be a week bare minimum before i can get back to it.

Thanks, good times. I have a ton of first aid training, more tools then I know what to do with and a couple grand invested in 18volt batteries, so I can run my tools for days without power. Nothing like being able to cut a whole house apart while the power is out. ...and I like to be helpful.
Back on topic, though, I wish I knew what happened to my doubleshot. It just died out of the clear blue, was running fine until the moment it wasn't.
I haven't tried to plug it into a computer yet to see what I can see, but I remember seeing a whole lot of info on connecting to it and talking to the radio direct through linux pre-boot, so i'll exhaust all software avenues before disassembly.
I am well out of warranty now, since it's the one I got at device launch, so I do think taking it apart will be in my near future. Definitely gonna take a lot of pics on that.
As that ds was my first android cellular device, haven't had something like this happen before. Definitely gonna cripple my devving if I can't get it running again. Devving with two of the same device and seeing differences in real time in front of you is like the first time you hook up a second konitor to a computer. You just can't accurately articulate how much more productive you can be.
Definitely appreciate any tidbits of knowledge anyone can drop here to give a leg up when I can get back to it.

HTC for life?, One X has sent me packing.

I've always had an HTC phone everything from the EVO shift (yee yeah), to the Inspire HD, then got a Vivid, now I'm using this One X AT&T. I've been spoiled by Sense, I can't imagine having to use a Samsung. It's nice, fast yada yada but geeez its bubbly icons kill it for me.
This OneX I can't understand why the All the softkeys or home keys have been changed. The back key is for left hand people, Why does the recent apps button even exist and then put it in the most convenient place? No battery? What I mean to say is no extra battery. Ive always bought an extra battery so that if I don't have a plug-in or charger I got it covered.
Can someone give me any reason why the charge port is on the side?
No SD storage... This is probably the main reason Im done with HTC. A factory reset from the bootloader erases everything on your phone including backups. EVERYTHING ON YOUR PHONE! Not the recovery though...
Is there any way of securing the data so this never happens?
Now my camera has went out. No camera.. Ive tried everything, I even called HTC support they tried and they say "need new hardware". I really hate to tear into this phone.
I never write these vent posts.. I would fight someone lastweek if they talked trash about HTC phones. Maybe I got lemon, it's just One thing after another.
Although it seems like I'm trashing this phone I really love it. I just can't store anything important on it or take pictures, video.. I've read so many posts on replacing the camera but I just hate to tear into it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I never knew how important it was..
No one can say anything bad about the screen on the One X. It's amazing..
Sound is great
Smooth running phone too..
I'm scared to spend money on another HTC product. Maybe there is a way to try out a phone for a couple days that would be great.

You have the right to voice your opinion but this isn't really the place to do it. You're just knocking the phone. It's not a perfect phone, but it's really good once you get it rooted and all that. Stay respectful, everyone!

I'm wondering why you bought it on the first place.
Almost all of your complaints are hardware ones that you know about before buying the phone?
Personally I don't mind the hardware at all. External SD would be nice but not a big deal. And I like right side unlock buttons.
As far as the camera I think it was just bad luck or damage. Haven't heard about it happening much at all.

My niggles:
They put pogo contacts on the phone... but couldn't be bothered to make anything that actually uses them.
9.xGB of storage when I was expecting the typical 14.xGB for a phone advertised with 16GB.
HUGE pain to get root early on, though partially att's fault.
The phone loses signal if I leave it face up. (really gotta find time to get that fixed...)
Other than that, it's been an awesome phone.
I think HTC could've improved more in the music department and camera, but I agree with RollTribe. It's not a perfect phone, and there will never be a perfect phone imo. For me it was the software and hardware (GPS works!!) that made me stay.
Overall I would consider the XL solid. I'm going to look past the HTC One, though, and wait for the next generation.

I think the back button is in a perfect spot for right handed people, it is right in reach of my thumb when held in my right hand.
You complain about the recent app button, but I don't follow your complaint. It exists so you can multitask, you say it is in a convenient spot and I agree, easily accessed by the right thumb when held right handed.
Extra battery? I have never found myself wanting to buy extra batteries for any phone ever. I just charge mine when required. This phone lasts a full day easy if you are not playing games on it. I am a heavy phone user with maybe 30-50 calls every work day, sync an ics calendar every hour, use calendar, contacts, browser and email a whole bunch. The phone lasts the entire day. These days with my car dock I can play games all day without issue
Charge port on the side makes for easy landscape car docking, perfect for GPS. I slip mine into the car charger often these days, it is one of the easiest phones to get in and out of the dock as the charge port is on the side.
SD storage, again I use my phone for a whole bunch of things and have never gone close to using the full storage. I stream over Spotify via Bluetooth to my car head unit. I have about 20-30 user apps installed. I just can not fill the phone. I even have the 16GB model from Hong Kong while most around me who bought from Telstra have 32GB.
I have had my phone for 15 months now and the camera still works perfectly. My last phone(s) was a Nexus One and a Nokia E68(or something) I smashed the camera lens on the Nokia before 12 months, not sure how, but my One XL is fine.
Then the next user, Zodiac:
I like the unlock at the top, easy to reach with right index finger, but can not be accidentally pushed.
Then, antichamp:
pogo pin issues( I initially really wanted to use the pogo pins aswell just for the gimmick until I realized they only seem cool)
1)The pogo pins are used on the desk dock.
2)The USB port actually "locks" the phone in to the car dock, the car dock requires a locking mechanism unlike the desk dock.
3)The pogo pins would cause scratch marks along the back as the pins drag along the case as you slide the phone in and out of a car dock.
4)The pins on the dock would wear out because of #3
5)What is wrong with the USB port?
The phone is easy to get root on. All issues are AT&T, the phone in EVERY other region is a breeze to unlock.
My gripe is weird data issues, where you sometimes need to give the phone a kick (eg via airplane mode toggling) to reset data (3g, 4g or wifi).
This was been improved dramatically though the updates but is still a niggling issue that sometimes crops up.
Also originally I disliked not having a hardware menu key and being forced into the Android 3 dot menu thing. Ofcourse HTC listened and fixed that issue in an update.
When you say sound is great are we talking about the same phone? Can barely hear my phone speakers from the back seat of my car.
That and spotty service/data issues are my only gripes on this phone.

I think I might be having the same issue as you. Does the camera app just freeze immediately and crash? Then says cannot connect to camera when you try to open it again. Happened to me on AOKP Milestone 2 (rohan said it was an issue in the mainline AOKP), but now I've run 3.18 RUU and flashed the latest CM10.1 nightly and had the same issue.

This only occurs after you have modded the phone, so you can't blame HTC for this. Factory reset from bootloader works fine on stock phones.
The way to secure your data is very simple: Don't factory reset from bootloader. Its been mentioned in countless places. So if you wiped your backups, its your own fault for lack of proper research.
Research? Lets just try and read before quoting...

I would expect this kind of blasphemy if I posted a dumb video on YouTube, but the fact that this is a dev site full of "professionals". I posted a comment against my better judgement to try and find answers or suggestions about my phone. The first response is that
"This isnt the place for that" And then 2nd response is
"Why did you buy the one x, you should have known about these things"
First of all I dont think its constructive to rip someone down for a post when clearly alot of people are having the same problem. And I wish I would have found an honest review of this phone before I bought it. I wish I could have read my post before buying this phone. But for some reason Im a black sheep (to a few) for giving my opinion on very important flaws that anyone should be concerned with. I love HTC and have 6 devices prior to this one.
Im not sure who (the 5th reply) twist....? works for and to make statements like never having a storage issue and dont mind the internal card.? I never said anything about the storage. I am commenting on the fact you cant remove the sd card just to make sure the data is secure. And I would love to have a number of how many people use a car dock or computer dock.?? Maybe this guy works for a manufacturer/...///??
I always carry an extra battery and Im not the only person who does. To act like that is unreasonable is just ridiculous.
Of course not all phones are perfect Of course! Why would anyone feel the need to say that...
I love my ONE X It just annoys me that I cant take pictures of my little girl with it. Or store any important data on it. Ive had at least 5 people contact me about the camera issue and are having the same problem.
This last reply to my review and concerns and wanted suggestions takes the cake.
The last comment clearly says that if "you want to secure your data then dont do a factory reset from the boot-loader. It only happens on Modded phones". I have 6 HTC phones and none of them wipe the complete phone to include the external sd. NONE... I wanted to know if it was possible to lock the sd storage or "trick" it to thinking it had an external sd and dont wipe that. If you dont know the answer then fine. I dont see how that is irrational. And I dont think anyone comes to this site because they want to get information on "never modding or rooting there phone." This site is kinda geared towards people who enjoy learning and doing cool, great and ingenious things to make everyone's life better. Or awesome. But to get completely ripped by senior members and the comments being about something other than what I or other members even said is UN professional. This site encourages members to post on General Forumns. I think its 10 before I can move to the big boy pages. But at this rate what could I possible have to gain by it. If I make mistakes or brick my phone then why should I feel like an idiot for wanting people to know why and how it happened to save them a headache? I dont see how typing anymore will stress how childish most of the replies to my posts have been, cannonofcourse out...
You need to calm down. Redpoint was right.

I find that external battery packs are way more convenient. You can pick up a 10,000 mah Anker pack for under $50 and it'll charge your phone several times. And it works for any other devices that you might have that charge via USB. And it will work on the next phone that you buy.

I found this out the hard way as well, but anything on my phone exists other places. I don't consider my phone to be a place to store unrecoverable files. My photos are automatically backed up to G+, contacts and email are on Google, anything else doesn't really matter.

That just sucks. I had to get a warranty replacement at one point due to a bad SIM slot, but the AT&T service center swapped it out no questions asked, didn't even notice that the bootloader was unlocked.
With all of that said, I really do think that people here are trying to help.

So if anybody disagrees with you, its "blasphemy"??? Nobody here is a professional. Professionals get paid. If you mean courteous and polite, I don't see any responses to the contrary. Yes, several of us have disagreed with you. But not in any way that can remotely be considered a flame, personal attack, etc.
I was simply pointing out a FACT that the factory reset from bootloader bug exists due to the phone being hacked. HTC could have not have predicted every way user-implemented mods could harm the phone. You have some legitimate criticisms of HTC and the phone. But the factory reset issue isn't one of them.
You asked for our thoughts. We gave them. Or maybe you just wanted to hear from people that agreed with you?
I'm done with HTC as well if motorola steps up its game with the X but frankly i'll support anyone except samsung. I just want to see android evolve to more than just 1 oem (samsung).
I don't hold the past against any oem. If i like the new phone, i'll buy it.

There is no desk dock for this phone...
For the international version there is, regardless of it's mediocre reviews.
I recently discovered the unfortunate truth of your 2nd point (I'm trying to make my own car dock).
On three and four, wouldn't that indicate a poor design of the phone? (blame the user ala apple's "you're holding it wrong")
There's nothing wrong with the usb port, I just think it would be convienient to both charge the phone and get analog audio out without connecting both the usb and 3.5mm jack.

Hmmm, bad sim slot you say?
If I don't leave my phone face down it loses service. I have to restart it upside down and shake it before it will come back.
Think I could have the same problem?
It's possible. Or it could just be the SIM carrier.

I'm right handed and it really doesn't bother me. I can sympathize with having to get used to differences on devices. It always takes a while for me to get used to things.
I find that external battery packs are way more convenient. You can pick up a 10,000 mah Anker pack for under $50 and it'll charge your phone several times. And it works for any other devices that you might have that charge via USB. And it will work on the next phone that you buy.
Actually I bought one of the "power on the go" packs from radio shack and broke it apart, replaced the battery with a 3600mah I ordered for my evo on accident. It cost about 8 dollars (plus the cost of the extra battery 12 bucks I think) and it charges my phone incredibly fast and about 3 times before I have to charge it back.up. Nothing worse than hearing that beep noise when your trying to get something done.
No idea. It does however work very well with the iBolt car dock. Quick and easy to put the phone in and lock it.
I found this out the hard way as well, but anything on my phone exists other places. I don't consider my phone to be a place to store unrecoverable files. My photos are automatically backed up to G+, contacts and email are on Google, anything else doesn't really matter.
I do try to back up everything to the cloud, via Google drive or I have a media server but it always seems like the one thing I needed is gone forever. I just found out the hard way that a reset from the bootloader took out my whole phone. It just sucks not being able to pull the card out and hold it.
That just sucks. I had to get a warranty replacement at one point due to a bad SIM slot, but the AT&T service center swapped it out no questions asked, didn't even notice that the bootloader was unlocked.
It seems like a certain set of serial numbers are having a hardware issue. I hate to go without my phone to get it fixed but I guess thats what I have to do. Thats the price we pay to have it all wrapped up in one little cool device.
With all of that said, I really do think that people here are trying to help.

I know there are plenty of people that do a fantastic superhuman job. Just hours of searching to find out if someone has or is working on a fix or if I can provide info to contribute seems like so many people just lashing out for no reason.. But maybe Im being defensive.
Thanks
Unfortunately I highly doubt the issues you've brought up can be "fixed".
But...
I'm pretty sure you can change the location of the back button on certain aosp ROMs though.
Using battery case should mitigate the need for a removable battery.
The fact that doing a factory reset from bootloader wipes your phone can't be changed, but a little research on here warns of that in numerous places. And I don't think that's necessarily HTC's fault. It's up to us to educate ourselves about the risks we face when altering our devices.
For instance: TWRP 2.6 has an advanced wipe feature which makes it very easy to wipe your sd card while wiping the usual system and caches. I did that myself just recently, accidentally checked the wrong box and wiped my sd. I lost everything. Without a backup. So many photos of my kids gone for good. But I don't blame TWRP for making it easy to do that. I blame myself for working too fast and not being careful enough.

Did the factory reset thrrough bootloader cause your problems??
If so, all yous gotta do is plug yer phone right into your computer and let windows detect it. Once it finds it, it will send you a window that says something along the lines of having an error with the sd card, from there click the button that says fix errors, and your all set. This happened to me before and I couldnt play music, store or access anything, or use the camera. But now it works perfectly.
And as for the extra battery, the portable chargers provide more battery life with less money. It makes more sense to buy a portable charger even if we did have removable batteries. :good::good::good::good:

Ready to break this sucker open

Ok, I've been having some network issues, some of you may know. My service cuts off randomly and im quite sick of it. I've tried everything, nothing will fix it. I dont have an extra $400 laying around to RMA it. So, I am at the last resort. Its been fun, its a good phone, but at this point it really doesnt matter to me if i break it. I can get a moto g for $120 thqt will work like it was ment to. I really thunk its something wrong with the phone, I've never had this problem on tmobile before.
Anyway, im ready to crack this thing open and see if i cant fix it on my own. Maybe a connection is lose or something. I've watched a few videos, looks easy, ive popped my N72013 open so i im not worried.
Now, would anyone have any ideas what it could be? It acts like its a grounding issue, i can do just about anything, but when i download a rom, app, stream a video, anything that maxes out my internet, the service just completely drops, and says "no service" but usually comes back on after a few seconds. Sometimes the whole phone reboots. But, if is use 3g i never have any problems
So, any ideas on what to look for inside the phone? I was gonna unplug the wire for 4G and 3G, inspect maybe dust it off, and plug it back in.
If anyone has any ideas please fill me in. Thanks for your time.

They don't cash the 400 bucks, they just put a hold on it, I did it recently via a credit card, and the charge was quickly reversed.
I'd recommend replacing it, if you still don't want to do it (because of money), go directly through LG they'll have you send in the device and they'll fix it for you.
What you're suggesting is a last resort when you're out of warranty

Yes, I've fastboot flashed stock 4.4.4, 4.4.3, 4.4.2, 4.4, tried different kernels, roms, called tmobile numerous times, changed sim cards, gone to different areas in town, you name it, I've probably tried it.
I had a similar problem with my nexus 5 it would be on LTE most of the time but after a few minutes of watching YouTube it would switch to h/h+/3g I did RMA through T-Mobile and this new one hasn't done it if you don't have a warranty your only choice is to replace the antenna or the radio hardware
So you are willing to buy a Moto G but not deal with Google RMA? RMA is free, a hold on your credit card is just that, nothing is charged unless you plan on skipping town with the 2nd Nexus.
Google support is one of the best in the business. They do everything they can possibly do to make your RMA as quick and painless as possible by cross shipping you the replacement device. If you have an issue with Google's RMA then you must have never been forced to RMA something before.
Its not that i have an issue with rma, its just, by the time i save up $400 and they ship me the new one, this phone will be obsolete anyway. The battery life isnt that good, its starting to get lcd bleed, ive read many people go through 5+ device and have the same issues. Im not saying its a bad phone, its the best phone ive ever had and ive had many good android phones im just saying, at this point it doesnt seem worth the time and effort, its like a 50/50 shot that ill get a good one.

It's like you're not listening...
It's a hold, not a charge.
ALSO.
LG (directly) will FIX / REPLACE FOR FREE. NO HOLDS YOU JUST SEND IT IN FIRST.

..::FACE PALM::..
Nope... not even going to try anymore
Please dont. You obviously dont get the point of my post.
Not sure if I know the point of your post either, but another option is sending your N5 for RMA first (that way there's no hold on your account at all) and wait for them to send you a new one. You can even buy a moto g use it for the week or two you won't have a phone and return it or something.
I understand that you're trying to see if anyone knows what's wrong but to me it's like a needle in a haystack. You're going to be opening up the device to look for a loose connection, but it could be something completely different. Maybe it's a hardware part that is malfunctioning in which case you would need to track down a replacement. This is why everyone is suggesting you just RMA because, speaking from experience, it really isn't a bad experience at all. If you really want to try and fix it yourself of course you're free to do as you wish since it is your device, but I highly doubt anyone on the forum will be able to say for sure what the problem is.
Sounds like you're in a fringe 4g area like me. A few blocks away I get full 4g. On my block, I get almost nothing. I constantly drops 4g, then picks it back up again.
I get a full lte signal nearly everywhere i go, it doesnt just drop 4g, it drops all service completely
