Reflashed Phone to stock 4.4.2, then downloaded update to 4.4.3 & TWRP offers no obvious way to install this update, flashed clockworkmod and instantly Updates, How / Why does this happen with TWRP

Thanks! I was trying to figure out how I could flash a custom recovery to 4.4.3....Thanks to your post, I realized that CWM recovery was the ticket from the beginning.
Normally, I would use TWRP. Not no more.
I now have a custom recovery on the stock 4.4.3 firmware!

Why are all you people flashing recoveries and all that jazz..when a factory FXZ (aka) firmware isn't available.. just asking for trouble..then most blame the device for the problems created..
TIP: NEVER flash anything unless you have the FXZ..
Also..if you ones are relying on OTA's then that's also asking for trouble..what til an FXZ is available, then flash away..

[ROM][4.4.x][OFFICIAL & NIGHTLIES][MOTO_MSM8960] MoKee OpenSource Project

I was on the 9.30 OTA and installed the KK ota via @SamuriHL method.... I rooted and unlocked the bootloader.
Next I installed CWM for KK and tried installing Mokee @Ryuinferno. Now I am in a bootloop. What could have gone wrong?

Nope didnt work. Should I have downgraded to JB and done this? I am not sure about that though as the ROM is KK

I am not sure as this is device specific... sorry...as long as recovery is compatible it should work

The ROM is KK but it was not designed for the latest boot loader version, I think. The only custom rom that will work with the most recent OTA boot loader are dhacker's test builds
You have to either downgrade the boot loader, use one of the test builds or revert to stock system.

Thanks a lot @RCOO...... I have flashed back Samuri's Stock KK.... I was worried it had hard bricked....
Will try downgrading and then flash back n see what happens....:fingers-crossed:

i did something very similiar. from what i understand (which isnt muchLOL). but Dhacker29 told me that once you upgrade you have to use the new kitkat bootloader. and the new bootloader only works with roms that have upgraded kernels 3.5 or higher(i think) so right at this momoent there are next to no roms but you can either use stock and modify it yourself or you can give Dhackers test build which isnt bad it has a few bugs but all the hardware works so far and my RAZR HD is playing games it couldnt touch before at all. here give this a try( oh turn off touch sounds to get rid of that anoying popping/cracking sound) i started this thread after having the same issues LMAO in it u will find links to the test rom . hope this helps

Moto G Update Error!

I have Moto G XT1033 which was rooted using Modaco's PaulOBrien method. Now i need update it from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 with OTA. I have received update notification but when i try to install it gives Error.
What should i do ? How can i update to 4.4.4 without formatting the data.

If you've flashed a custom kernel its the most likely reason for the problem in my experience, but also I think CWM and TWRP don't handle the OTAs well (Philz recovery does). So you need to be on Philz or stock recovery (which will mean re-rooting afterwards if you go stock) and stock kernel for your region.

[Help] Upgrading from 5.0.2(kitkat bootloader) to 5.1

I have reflashed(clean install= wiped data/cache/system) 5.0.2 Asian lollipop stock rom,which doesnt upgrade bootloader i.e im on kitkat bootloader. after flashing, i lost root access and i'm on stock recovery. And Now I got 5.1 OTA, can i install it or not? Because while turning on my device, i get custom image first and then motorola animation,i get this custom image because i have made it by moto g boot logo creator + flasher.

Yes you can flash the OTA update without any issues. Considering your bootloader is 41.18 you wont be having any trouble and obviously since you clean flashed 5.0.2 surely your bootloader must have updated itself automatically

Thanks thuva... My bootloader version is 41.08 I.e KitKat bootloader
