I was on the 9.30 OTA and installed the KK ota via @SamuriHL method.... I rooted and unlocked the bootloader.
Next I installed CWM for KK and tried installing Mokee @Ryuinferno. Now I am in a bootloop. What could have gone wrong?

The ROM is KK but it was not designed for the latest boot loader version, I think. The only custom rom that will work with the most recent OTA boot loader are dhacker's test builds
You have to either downgrade the boot loader, use one of the test builds or revert to stock system.

i did something very similiar. from what i understand (which isnt muchLOL). but Dhacker29 told me that once you upgrade you have to use the new kitkat bootloader. and the new bootloader only works with roms that have upgraded kernels 3.5 or higher(i think) so right at this momoent there are next to no roms but you can either use stock and modify it yourself or you can give Dhackers test build which isnt bad it has a few bugs but all the hardware works so far and my RAZR HD is playing games it couldnt touch before at all. here give this a try( oh turn off touch sounds to get rid of that anoying popping/cracking sound) i started this thread after having the same issues LMAO in it u will find links to the test rom . hope this helps

@JohnnyMcG... I did the downgrade and it worked.... Flashed mokee and it works like a charm.

I think I understand what's happening, but what I've read isn't clear. I have updated to KK in order to unlock the bootloader on my Motorola RAZR HD xt926. That all went fine. I've been using both CWM 6049 and TWRP 2710. I've tried flashing several ROM versions of Cyanogen and SlimKat and they all end up boot looping (hang at the red M). There are no errors during flashing. The only ROMs that will boot are Cyanogenmod nightlies after M8. Those nightlies, however, have issues (notably no GPS). Several others seem to have the same problems, but many are running these builds fine. If I (finally) understand correctly the stock KK update also updates the bootloader to a KK bootloader and there is no way to downgrade the bootloader. The post-M8 nightlies of CM can use the KK bootloader, but all else needs the earlier JB bootloader. Basically I'm wondering if I'm just stuck in a "too new" are and have to wait until KK bootloader compatible ROMs are available. Does this sound correct? Or can I just downgrade the bootloader to flash Cyanogenmod and Slimkat stable builds? Thanks in advance!

you can flash back to JB and use the JB based roms.
there is a guide in my sig with instructions and files to use, just skip down to the relevant parts.

Thanks for the clarification @bweN diorD. I had actually done that to re-flash the KK images, thinking I might have missed something. Looks like I had given up one step too soon. I'm now happily unlocked and rooted and running a stable CM11 M8.
I mean, i uptaded my moto g to Lollipop. But i didnt like it so much, so i've downgrade the phone to kk. But my device doesnt reboot anymore. It got stucked on 'Warning bootloader unlocked' screen. Tried restoring so much firmwares, roms, etc, no solutions.
How can i revive my phone? Hope you understand my fking english.

Cant. Tried flashing again dual sim br and then the ota but i get ' Installation aborted ' everytime.....
It sounds like your Bootloader has been updated so you can no longer boot the KitKat kernel. Can you please state what version your Bootloader is now?
For example mine is: 41.13
This weekend I will try to build a Stock ROM based on Retail DS BR Lolliopop. That should get your phone back, as long as you have a custom Recovery installed.
Perhaps you could try to flash the full latest 4.4.4 Brazil rom; the OTA update to Lollipop might work on this one. Just not sure if it is safe to revert to an older bootloader on Moto G, never tried this myself.
If this doesn´t work or you don´t want to try, you will need someone to upload a full 5.0 ROM and look for a backup phone until then
My bootloader ver. is 41.18
i've tried reflashing br dual sim version and then the 5.0 ota. But it doesnt work.

But I do not want recovery my device..
you cannot root a lollipop rom, you have to downgrade to KK, root it then upgrade again to a rooted lollipop rom, only way it via a flashable zip that can only be installed by using one of the 2 recoveries
why don't you want a recovery?

Not true. If you keep the locked bootloader and install a recovery you can still get official updates. But you will lose root, however you will always lose root of you officially update regardless of if you have recovery of not
Yes, but to apply the update you need a stock recovery.

A root and a custom recovery is good to backup and most important : RESTORE a working version of the ROM in case of a soft brick.
But it is your choice.

I still prefer only root .. my old phone (Xperia s) made it only root .. no recovery or things like that .. This is the most recommended in my opinion but I do not know when in the new version of z3 came out with only root .. I'm really looking forward to it
I've never had issues barging into a development community and going out to the horizon of customization until this cellphone. It's been 12 hours of flashing and downloading and flushing and flashing...
I have S-off and unlocked through SunShine
I use the 0P6BIMG.zip to flash RUU back to the stock verizon rom android 4.4.2
I use 3.28.605.4-firmware.zip from the same RUU thread to update the firmware (???)
I want to install CM12 or liquidsmooth ROM, but I'm getting a hunch at this point I need to start with the stock verizon 5.0.1 installed before that because TWRP wants to patch the system file... But then why am I wiping my system before installing?
I also tried flashing FluentRom_v7.5.zip but I got stuck on the HTC initial screen, I don't even make it over to a boot animation.
What do?

I'm prettly sure you're on an older firmware. You need to be on 5.01 to flash the ROMs you have tried to flash. Use the pre-rooted RUU from this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...zw-m8-master-ruu-firmware-collection-t2946473
Also make sure you have the latest version of TWRP.
Edit: The firmware you flashed was 4.4.4

Thanks for the link that thread and your advice was exactly what I needed.
For whatever reason after using the app/exe to flash 5.0.1 stock-rooted, Liquid Rom failed to install in TWRP. I reflashed the stock-rooted rom and CM-12.1 worked flawlessly. So I'm on CM right now :good: but I'll take another look into Liquid rom. Thanks so much!
Since you like AOSP, I recommend visiting the main m8 thread some other Roms. They are unified builds.
Anyone can suggest what upgrade I should choose and which one is more stable? I want to root my phone as well so if anyone with the official Marshmallow update can give me a good reason to upgrade from 5.0.2 I'd really appreciate it.
Besides sense 7 is there anything else to look forward to in Marshmallow for HTC?
Also anyone with the Marshmallow GPE Rom or Viper M8 please share your experiences with the roms.
For the first time I'm having trouble deciding what to flash on my E8 thanks to all the devs!
I tried everything, and - offical 6.0.1 is better choise. There is best camera. They really updated drivers or libs, i don't know. Stock ROM + custom kernel it's always good. All custom ROM's here is based on older firmwares.

How did you Root and get the custom kernel (without the system write protection) on Marshmallow? Same as how you'd do it on 5.0.x?
Yes, my 6.0.1 rooted, but custom kernel not exist this time. We waiting.

Would you please explain how to root your E8 6.0.1? I prefer to get just root without installing custom recovery, so I can backup stock recovery using flashify just in case for future OTA.
i dont know about way like this. In future u can extract stock recovery from OTA package, that u gonna receive. This always works.
I've flashed supersu 2.67 via recovery.

I received OTA and installed it directly. I forgot to backup the OTA file first so I don't have a chance anymore to extract the stock recovery. I tried to downgrade to 5.02 but always failed.

Downgrading is easy. You need to flash TWRP recovery via fastboot. Do not need full root. ERASE everying. The flash lollipop RUU via external SD.

I have M8SW and it is S-ON, it currently running BinDroid ONE V1.3.0 Android 4.4.4. I'm thinking about trying marshmallow ROM but I've read that is hard to downgrade to Kitkat once the firmware has been upgraded to higher version. But you said above it is easy to downgrade, can you please provide me with the steps to downgrade from marshmallow to kitkat rom. Thanks
