Moto G Reset Bug? (Custom ROMS) - General Questions and Answers

Hi, I have installed many custom ROMS on my Moto G but have found an issue with them, when I perform a factory reset using the inbuilt ROM data reset it reloads to the android reset screen and flashes every 10 seconds but does nothing.
I am not new but it does un-nerve me as I don't want it to kill the memory
Any ideas why it does it and the consequences
Many Thanks and any help would be appreciated

Some stock apps are necessary for your phone to run. What phone are you on? I would recommend going to your phone's forum and downloading the latest stock ROM for your phone, wipe cache, dalvik, and data in recovery, and flash the new ROM. That should fix it!

[Q] Blinking android logo after 'factory reset' ?

Hi Guys,
Rooted/unlocked bootloader moto G 1032.
Was on stock and tried to do a factory reset, when i press the erase button my phone reboots and the Android robot starts blinking with a status bar. I'm used to it being on the screen and the bar slowly filling up.
So after this happened i went back in to CWM and flashed the latest Cyanogenmod and did another factory reset but again its blinking.
Has anyone experienced this? Should i just let it run and see what happens?
Thanks
Happened to me when I tried a reset from within the rom. Probably to do with not having stock recovery, factory reset form custom recovery should work fine.
Sent from my Moto G using xda app-developers app

[Q] How long should a factory reset take?

My wife's Moto G (XT1028) seemed to be having a problem this morning where it would boot, but then freeze after about a minute of use, then reboot (rinse, repeat). After trying to uninstall some apps, etc that could be causing the issue I decided to just do a factory reset. This a rooted Moto G running a stock Verizon ROM with CWM Recovery. I choose factory reset and now the phone has been stuck there for +20 minutes (at formatting /data). I reset, tried again, same thing. I don't ever recall a phone taking this long to format and wipe the data.

Wiping cache takes 10 minutes. Really. I have xt1032, converted into GPE.
I would recharge the phone, keep it on charger and then let it try to make this factory format.

Rebooting when trying to factory reset

My Moto G (XT1032) reboots by itself whenever I try to factory reset through twrp. This means that I can't install ROMs etc. It suddenly happened today when I tried to go from stock KitKat to a Lollipop ROM I found here on XDA.
So any clue what it may be? Or a log is required to resolve the issue?

MOTO G custom ROM weird bug/problem

Hello, so after I install a custom ROM, after 2-3 weeks of using it, my phone gets stuck, and then reboots. After the reboot, the phone acts weird: no notifications are shown, home/recents buttons not working, some apps not working and not locking and some options just reset.
Thank you in advance.

?? Yep i know this thing few symptoms were shown on my osprey so it happened to me bz i just to test many custom rom and many time there residue remain uncleaned even after many twrp formats (it weird but i think this happens) so try clearing your intenal storageand (no need to clean memory just remove it) even remove you sim crad and memory cards
flash a recovery from your current recovery if there is not update just reflash the current recovery and then just make it a reboot to recovery ( msg will pop up no os found but there will be no issue if you're rebooting directly to the recovery)
So after reboot put your memory card in phone where you will store your rom and gapps ( if memory not detected just reboot to recovery one more time) puff install things let your sim cards in enjoy your rom
If this thing failes go install stock firmware its an ultimate solution
i finally flashed the stock os, hopefully no issues now!

The same issue happened to me yesterday
So, now I am trying to clean flash the custom rom first
I've been running a Lineage OS PIE version on my Moto G3 2015(Osprey) XT 1541 for several months now and not a single problem.I think it's a Fantastic Custom rom that you might like to try,

Note:
Before installing any Custom rom do a,"Nandroid" backup and then a Factory Reset.
Then once the rom has installed and before setting the phone up do another,"Factory Reset".
I've found this the best way to make sure the install is really good and clean
