[Q] Sony xperia L dead after "SWAP" HELP ME!! - Sony Xperia L

Hello guys!
- I've unlocked the bootloader
- I've flashed CM11 and it was working very well
- I flashed (xperia apps, Gapps)
- until now everything is going well
- Then I spend about two days to enable SWAP-function
To expand my phone memory
:good:
- I did everything step-by-step (Busybox, link2sd, partition for SD card fat32-ext4-linuxSwap , init.d, ...etc)
- Then after i used SWAPPER 2 and Swapit expander my phone was working
But I said If i reboot the phone it'll be better to make the Swapper apply the changes!
And that was the last time I see the screen on!!!!
Can I say now R.I.P my phone
My Sony xperia L now (Doesn't boot, No notification light, doesn't charge, No fastboot, No flashboot, Not recognized by computer app Pc ompanion or fastboot or flashtool ....) Simply it's DEAD
But when i plug it to my laptop I hear that sound when you plug any USB device...
The first time I plugged it after it died .... I noticed the laptop is downloading some driver "Qualcom ..." or something like that name
Is that the CPU driver!? and why it only detect the CPU!?
- I noticed when i plug it to my laptop if it didn't recognized the phone, i press on power button so it makes that sound when i attach any other usb device.... after few minutes it makes that sound when I removed the usb device but i can press again on the power button and it recognize it again
I tried to press volume up + power buttons for minutes!!
I tried to press volume down + power buttons for minutes!!
volume up + down + power ....
camera button + power ...
But there is no response!!!
HEEEEEEEEEEEELP ME PLEASE!
There is no Sony centers here in my country :crying:

yes your motherboard is dead this can be repaired only in service center, I told this to everybody, that swapping or any playing with partitions is potecialy dangerous, and this is for second time I see swapper bricked xperia l
sorry

Thank you guys
But is there any way to repair it?! even if there is 1% Probability to fix it .
Like if i take it to a Sony service center in other country (Without warranty - voided)
Any suggestions dudes?
OR It's better to throw it in the street and forget this issue ...

The people at service centers will most probably change your motherboard, and the amount they charge for this can get you a MUCH better phone than this.
So think about this

Veroxpre not
Thank you Guys!
So it seems like the motherboard is corrupted (as you mentioned)
And if I take it to a Sony service center ..(in other country) => it'll cost me a lot .... like a new phone
I thought maybe there is something on the motherboard (IC, chipset, ROM, ...) and it's flashable by the its company
and only the Sony centers have the appropriate device to do that.
Have you ever heard about something like that guys?
Thanks in advance :good:

Please don't dare to do it. It is not the hard reset button it is secondary microphone for noise cancelation and voice recording for video. And if you press it with needle it will get damage. I don't know how it is possible for you but that is not the way for xperia L

Well i dont know but i pressed that button and it worked for me. I think the microphone button is the hole below the screen. Or try this method : press and hold power button + volume up for several seconds. (I get it from the internet, i dont know does it work or not )

Now it's in the maintenance center but it's not a Sony center
So I'll tell you if anything new happened

This happened with my Samsung ace
Titanium backup tried to access partition and phone was hard bricked..
No switch on
Not charging
Not even detection through odin(flashtool in xperia)..
Every repair shop told me to change motherboard..
But i found one super intelligent repairer
He used his tester and pulses were visible on the screen..
He said your ram is corrupted..
9 out of 10 repairer told me only solution is to change motherboard including official Samsung official centre
So may be this can be your problem..
I tried every way like jtag(home made resistor)
But none of the method worked..

Same thing happened to me.... Please help me too...

[Q] Nexus S i9020A Bricked due to failing power button - Odin seems the last hope?

Hi everyone,
INTRO:
So the power button on my Nexus S broke. No big deal, I remapped it to the search button and used the volume rocker to wake the device; an option that was embedded in Cyanogenmod9.
Then I upgraded to CM10... since I did that on top of CM9, my volume rocker option was still enabled, but the option is no longer in CM10's GUI.
I had some annoying issue and thought maybe I should wipe my phone; which I did.
Sadly, I realized that my "wake using volume rocker" option was no longer enabled, and there is no GUI to turn it back on.
I then found a .zip package that was supposed to enable the option but, I guess I went too fast, now my phone is stuck on a bootloop.
THE PROBLEM:
Since my power button is broken, I cannot navigate in the fastboot menu to recovery and fix the ROM.
Worst, since the power button is somehow shorted (i.e.: it powers on automatically when I insert the battery) Fastboot is not working properly and my PC never sees my phone, so you can forget about fastboot boot recovery.img
So: boot loop, power button broke, no recovery, no fastboot. =(
I searched quite a bit and found out you could get the Nexus S in download mode and get it to work with ODIN using a USB JIG.
I made myself such a JIG and successfully put the phone in some kind of download mode where my PC sees it, fastboot devices yields nothing *but* ODIN sees the phone!
So a glimmer of hope except for the fact that finding the .tar files for the Nexus S seems impossible...
Thoughts? Suggestion? TIA!
Francis // XC3N
Oh BTW:
-Yes I saw the other posts, but none of them mention the odin files
-Yes, I know fastboot is better; but it's not working and:
-No, I can't see the device on 3 different PCs using 3 different OSes and 3 Different cables when in fastboot mode
I mean by that last line that *nothing* shows in device manager in Win7 or XP and *nothing* shows in lsusb on ubuntu
So unless someone has an idea it looks like Download mode is the only way my PC sees my phone...
My power button done the same thing, I googled around and found a solution that worked for me.
It's somewhere here on xda but I don't got the link, basically everytime I booted into the bootloader I couldn't move the cursor with the volume button because the phone thought I was holding the power button, so I carefully tapped the casing around the power button and rebooted the bootloader and eventually I had control, it took 5-6 attempts to get it going but it did fix the power button for me.
I think it's something to do with the micro switches giving out after a certain number of uses.
Also it started screwing about recently so I just blew into the casing through the power button and it's behaved ever since.
In short, tap it until it works, once you have control of fastboot plug the usb in and your pc should detect it
Hope this helps, Good Luck

Hey MuckyFox thanks for your reply!
Unfortunately, that would've worked back when the power button was flimsy and still working once in a while... I did try the tapping thing but really nothing works... the button seems entirely dead and shorted. I guess at this point I might've to bring it in for repair... if the power button isn't broken then I'll be able to easily fix everything in recovery or fastboot. Sucks because I feel like I'm so close to getting it to work without spending money XD I just can't find the files for odin even though they really do seem to exist.
Allright so I found some odin files which were said to work with the i9020a
I flashed them... at some point it said "RESET!" and then odin no longer saw the device. The device is now not booting at all. FML
So this thread is going to end up like every other similar thread: I went and bought a Galaxy Nexus ;P
For posterity, these are the files you shouldn't flash on i9020A:
BOOTLOADER : Bootloader_I9020XXJK1.tar
PDA : PDA_SOJU_GRH78_85442_SIGNED.tar
PHONE:
CSC : CSC_I9020_EUR.tar
My power button started failing over the last couple of days. First when I would set the phone to standby it would ask me if I wanted to switch off the device, then later on it wouldnt respond at all.
Really weird solution - boot into recovery, factory restore, clear dalvik cache, voila, works good as new! (aside from losing all my settings)
Note, I barely managed to get into recovery. The power button fully stopped working halfway through and I had to take the battery out and try it a couple of times.
Oddly, even during this uber-broken phase, the power button would always switch on the device when fully switched off (not just standby) indicating to me that it wasnt just a physical broken connection.
I've mentioned this before, but a full casing for the phone with all the buttons is around $10 on eBay

You need stuff for SOJUA, and just the fact CSC has EUR meaning Europe in it would scare the crap out of me. Possible you just flashed stuff meant for i9020T and not i9020A.
In case anybody comes back here, I'm just gonna drop this in.

[Q] Root Without Power button....

Hi everyone,
I've got a big issue, my nexus S is not rooted and bootloader is still lock. As I said, my power button is broken....I've tryed to install driver from the nexus toolkit(and many others...), it worked but my nexus is reconized as "Acer ADB"...After that, I did "adb reboot bootloader" the nexus get into fastboot, but the computer cannot see it at all..not even in devices manager. When i'm on fastboot, nothing works, volume button and power are not responding(volume normaly work when booting OS).
Please help me !

Unless you have Gingerbread, you cannot root without your power button.
You can't scroll in fastboot and it doesn't get recognized because the power key is "stuck" on. It's a known issue when the power button fails on the Nexus S. Some people had moderate luck blasting compressed air around the power button, other opening it up and cleaning it with alcohol.
Thanks for answering.. I'll probably try to clean the button, i asked someone who repair Android phone and he told me that there was no fix for this button issue -_- that sound weird...

There's no easy fix though, it's true. I don't think anyone sourced the power button switch so as to order a few of them and beside it's a SMD component, quite tiny for some inexperienced (and even experienced) people.
If I was certain it was a power switch physical issue, I could likely source the part somewhere or exchange for similar and offer to repair people Nexus S, but my phone is fine and I surely won't take someone else phone to test.

[Q] Help: GT-I 9003 full brick

Sorry for my bad englsih!
After I flashed it because it did not recognize the SIM card more, it's probably completely dead. No shortcut is possibile.
But it is interesting that the phone when it is connected via USB and I, obviously connects the battery inlay with the computer. It has not yet seen anywhere else on the screen a reaction. The key combination VOL + + HOME + POWER indicators
Only the computer signaled by two short beeps that something was infected. Also in Device Manager a response for the USB ports is detected.
But only when I use the battery inlay. Not when I take him or USB interface cable or ausstecke!
Because there's still any hope?

Hello;
1) Don't Panic (Yet) - Depending on what you have done, there may be some hope.
2) Tell me: What Rom where you before Flashing and wich ROM you have just Flashed.
3) Tell me If you use "ODIN" and if you Checked "EFS Clear" ? (NEVER DO EFS CLEAR AS THIS WILL ERASE YOUR EMEI ! )
4) Revert to your Previous ROM;
5) Check Your IMEI;
Mean While do some research about "EFS" (What it is and what it is for)
Let me know how more as soon as possible.
Best Regards;
Please Press Thank Button if it helped you as this will keep me motivated to help on any ways possible (within my knowledge ofcourse).

I haven't sent my device to local support. If your device is still under warranty, they will do everything freely. But sometimes there will be some small errors come affter that, I have seen a lot of small errors originate from warranty in Z5 series group (vietnam)
My phone is under warranty but there's no service center in my area so unable to do that
In device manager(pc) shows somc flash driver connected to pc
z5 dual dont boot no fastboot or download mode no red light plz help me
in pc device manager shown as somc flash device
Try holding power+up vol + down vol all at the same time. This will force the phone to boot. My Z5 premium randomly will either freeze where there is no response to any thing screen, buttons etc, or it will just power down and will not turn back on. that's when i know I have to hold those three buttons down and it will boot back up. I have noticed that sometimes all my paired bluetooth devices will need to be re-pair any since the paring for them gets wiped out. Not sure what determines whether they stick or get deleted.

Hello,
My wife's Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact with model number H8324 has an issue with booting or maybe the launcher getting stuck in a loop after getting to the lock screen for a split second.
The phone seems to boot like normal and gets to the lock screen, we are even able to punch in one or two digits of the 4 digit pass code. Then it goes into a loop of the notification bar and back button flickering. From then on the phone is not responding except for the power button which brings up the normal "Turn off, Reboot, and Lockdown" menu. The issue just started out of nowhere yesterday morning and we haven't been able to fix it yet. We haven't done any rooting or custom rom flashing, it's running the official Sony software but it's out of warranty.
Here's a video showing the issue. The video shows the whole boot process but the link takes you to the last part after the logos.
We would love to get some files off it so if there is a way anyone can help us with that we'd prefer it over a hard reset.
Things we've already tried
Turning the phone off and on again
Unlocking the phone in the split second the lock screen works, this is just too short to swipe up and then put in four digits.
Rebooting the phone
Booting while charging
Booting into safe mode (this has the same issue)
Connecting the phone with USB to a pc, the phone is recognized by Windows, but it doesn't share it's filesystem with Windows.
Connecting the ADB to it, alas usb debugging is not yet enabled on the phone
Trying to get into recovery mode, we haven't been able to get into the recovery menu. Googling seems to indicate it might be holding volume up + power button when the phone is off but then it doesn't seem to do anything at all.
We're currently trying to run out the battery of the phone to see if that will resolve the issue on it's own.
If anyone has any idea, we would love to hear it.

If u dont know how to do that , reply comment here , but u should turn off the phone to keep battery well , if u can't turn off the phone , try to press and hold volume up button + power button within 5 sec , phone will vibrate 3 times and totally off
Is there a way to get a stock recovery if somehow the recovery has been deleted?
