I have searched the threads but cannot find a situation similar to mine so am posting, but apologise in advance if this has been solved before. It's a bit of a long story. About a year ago I was foolish enough to have stood on my TF300T, cracking the screen. The tablet was still working, but it would not register touch. I put it to one side and left the battery to drain. For various reasons I have just got around to replacing the screen.
I found a screen and digitiser of the correct version for my UK TF300T (version G01) and I'd thought the replacement went without any problems, although I was slightly unsure of one digitiser connection. On pressing the power button (I had pre-charged the battery) the screen came to life just as I'd left it as if coming out of sleep rather than being off for a year. It was short lived though and soon the tablet went to black and would not turn on. I thought maybe it was the digitiser connection so went back in to re-fit it. It was only then that I noticed the power switch on the logic board itself under the plastic shell. I hadn't switched it to off before (duh) so did so then, refitted the digitiser cable much more securely,switched the power back on and tried to boot, but nothing happened at all, apart from the power LED flashing orange. After some experimenting (trying to charge the tablet again etc) I found I could only boot by charging the dock and plugging the tab in the dock, but the tablet would only get as far the ASUS screen (not the 3D one, just the flat lettering), with the 'device is unlocked' message in the top left corner and stops there. I can turn it off, but can't boot into recovery at all. And that's where I am now.
Things I have tried - a different logic board from a TF300T's scrounged from eBay which also had a cracked screen (this, weirdly, seemed to have the same problem as mine), swapping various parts out from some other TF300T's (without logic boards) from eBay and contacting the device through Sandix's ADB GUI (after downloading and extracting the SDK), which registered no device.
My best guess at what's happened is that the battery on the tab itself is totally gone (as are the three other batteries I have accumulated) after a last valiant effort and either that going or me messing with the on off switch has some how corrupted the boot process. Is that possible? What do people think? I could buy a brand new logic board, but the only ones I seem to be able to find have some different brand chips on them and appear to be different versions - versions probably not compatible with my digitiser. :S
I am quite a novice here (and maybe poking around the inside of my tab wasn't a great idea, but then neither is wearing boots in the house) so any help would be greatly appreciated! Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to give a detailed report. Let me know if you have any questions. Although unlocked, it is running the stock ROM.
I would make sure drivers are reinstalled properly, by removing the drivers, reboot the computer, reinstall the drivers and then reboot again.
See if that works.
I had something similar happen on a different tablet. That was one from Box.co.uk, but after trying to get it fixed under warranty (and missing the end date by 1 day), I opened it myself. When the charger was plugged in, it showed the charging LED, but it didn't actually charge it.
I don't suppose you've checked the terminals for the battery to the mainboard? On this other tablet, one had broken off. I re-soldered it on, charged it fully and it worked fine.

My Note Pro 12.2 P900 64gb is now stuck on the samsung screen of booting up and I am wondering if anyone can help me figure out what to do next.
I was experiencing the flickering issue for the last two weeks which got progressively worse and eventually caused random rebooting. One time last week it started booting slower and then it wiped out some widgets on my start screen and the apps in touchwiz but most everything else was OK. Then yesterday it would not boot up past the samsung screen. It charges up OK, and I can get to Odin where it asks if I want to load another operating system by holding power and vol up. But unless it is plugged in, just holding power off puts it in a boot loop.
The other part is if it is stuck and I hold power off it usually vibrates twice before boot looping.
I rooted the tablet when I got it, but still run stock touchwiz, I just needed some rooted apps namely LMT pie controls.
Can anyone please point me towards what to do next. Thank you very much for your help.
I guess wiping data and factory reset is your only solution right now
I shall warn you you could lose your data so I hope you already have a backup!
And also I've read that lollipop fixed flickering issue in p900 devices

When power on, try pressing on the back, near the center with your hand. to see if it can boot normally,
Keep pressing while power on. if it works I will tell you what causing this problem.

here you can look by the minute 2:30 where the connector is located, basically under the samsung logo. I'm not doing tests yet because i have a busy day ahead
Thank you all for the responses. Holding down the back while powering on does not help. I do have the flickering thing and that started leading up to this. Lay night I took it the battery and disconnected it for a half hour and that did not help. Looking at the connections with a 20x hand lens did not reveal any cracks.
I don't remember how to wipe the data off the device, I got it right when it came out rooted it with cf root and never got around to twrp. All I wanted was LMT and Xposed. I never even updated the OS.
If anyone can help walk me through this to get it running again I'll send you a green poetic skin used once or a white well used GumDrop hideaway case I tested for work. I just would like to get this running instead of needing to purchase a new one.

Flickering screen is caused by cracked battery connector which cannot be seen under magnified glass. Re solder will fix it, trust me I did fix some of them

So resolder the 6 posts connecting the battery connector to the motherboard? Is there anything special I need to do that, just my soldering iron with a fine tip and solder? Anything special I need about the solder or do I need a wik or anything? The last time I did any soldering work was about 25 years ago.
Also will this fix the bootlooping and hanging on booting up at the Samsung word on the screen? If it is not going to fix that problem, maybe I should look at something else first.

First, pressing the battery connector help your tablet to boot is a confirmation of cracked battery connector solders. 90% flickering problem is from cracked battery connector. 10% is bad battery. You should fix the battery connector first as it's major defect seen in many Samsung tablets. Re solder is simple, apply flux, then heat these pins and add more solders as possible to secure these pins. Even new main board, this connector will crack just after 3 or 4 months depending how you use your tablet, especially with who using it on their laps. The main board sits on a flexible LCD and only 3 screws to hold it to the frame at 2 speakers. You don't need to remove the main board, just disconnect your battery and re solder the connector from the top.
Be careful as this connector is very close to other components. Trust me, this re work will fix this problem as I have seen in some cases, battery jumps up from 8% to 45% after the re work, other cases pressing the battery connector help the tablet to boot or stop flickering.

I have the Note Pro 12.2 and I had this same screen flickering issue. It would start to flicker at first around the 38% mark. I did research online and found this thread and many others. I tried the software fixes like the enabling of Developer Mode and screen brightness and other tries, but to no avail. When I pressed on the back of the tablet, the screen flickering would stop but then shortly return. So I saw the fix of trying to raise the motherboard which worked for about 2 weeks, then the screen flickering did return. It would then start to flicker around the 58% battery level mark and when it got down to around 26%, the tablet would shut down. When I plugged it in, it would show battery level of 0%, then quickly jump back up to the 26% mark when it shut itself down. So then by this time, I saw more of this thread and now was shown the soldering of the battery connectors. I had soldering equipment, but it was too large for this repair as these 6 pins are very close together. So I went to the hobby shop and purchased new equipment for about $30 with a smaller pin to be able to do this. Now, I am not an electronics guy and my past experience was replacing two bad capacitors on my Plasma TV when it went bad. That was the extent of my experience to date. So I opened up the back of my tablet and soldered the 6 pins again and the screen flickering has not returned. I am on my 5th battery cycle from 100% all the way down to 2% and the screen flickering and shutting itself down has not returned. Some people have said an electronics guy will do this for you for around $30. Well, I spent the $30 and did it myself. I want to thank the people for posting the solutions here as the soldering worked for me.

Ok I'll try to resolder it this weekend and report back. I think that my pertinent problem is that I have both the battery issue AND another problem that the tablet won't boot up at all but I will try the battery fix first and see what happens. Then I will report back.

Your feedback is very important as I see many " Hit and Run " users, they get the solution they need but never post back. Your first priority is fixing the battery connector, then next is the battery if problem persists.
This is a hardware defect I have seen in many Samsung tablets: battery capacity fluctuation, quick discharge, auto reboot, auto shutdown.......all come from battery connector . Read the threat Flickering Screen you'll see others try all solutions but never work because they don't know this is a hardware problem coming from this tiny connector.

I posted this over on r/nexus5 as well, but figured id see if anyone here had any ideas as well.
I replaced my screen/frame earlier today and started having some trouble, figured I'd see if anyone else has had a similar experience and can give some advice.
I replaced my screen about a year ago, and all was well until a month ago. Dropped it again and cracked the screen, so I ordered another. Decided to spice things up and get a red frame as well, so this afternoon I took it apart. Tore it all down, and moved all the parts over to the new frame, everything went over nice and easy, and I got it all about together and booted it up. I see the Google logo with the unlock symbol, hangs out for about 15 seconds, and then reboots. Will do this for a bit until I power it down.
I read some other threads with some similar symptoms. A few people suggested the power button was being held down and causing the reboot, but that isnt the case here. I can get into the boot loader/fastboot screen, and can see it over adb. Soemone else suggested it was the long wide noddle cable not properly connected, so I've reseated that about a dozen times with no luck. I have checked all of my connections over a handful of times, but still the same deal.
So since my pc can see it in fastboot, I ran the nexus toolkit and did the force flash. Files transferred over and were written successfully, and as far as NRTK was concerned, it all went well. so it tells me the phone to reboot, and of course its the same 15seconds of google logo, rinse/repeat.
So I am thinking maybe my motherboard got damaged somehow during the transition? I just cant find any signs of damage, and I was pretty careful during the transfer. This was a replacement from China, but I figured since it shows the google logo and boot loader, the screen is indeed working... could it be the screen/digitizer preventing it from fully booting? I think its odd that root toolkit could still see the device, send data to it, and write it successfully.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Actually now that I think about it, I will throw the guts back into the old frame in the morning to confirm if it is the new screen causing the problem or not.
So it turns out it was the chinese knock off screen that was the problem. put the guts back into my old phone, and all was well. Going to return it and get a new screen on the way.
O happy day- got a keyboard dock. Happiness was short lived; after allowing the dock to charge overnight, I was unable to get either of my tf300's to work with it. The tablets will recognize it as a charging device (you can see the 2 battery icons on the status bar) but that's it- no track pad or keyboard functions. I haven't tried to see if usb is active, though. I've attempted the troubleshooting steps I've seen online, like cold booting a tablet while connected to the dock, all to no avail...
Anyhow, obviously there's no warranty in play here, so I was curious if anyone had any know-how on servicing the dock? I read on Tom's Hardware that the dock needs to be glued somehow after disassembly, so i'd like to consider that "last resort", but if that is what it's going to take, that's okay. Anybody have any suggestions?

I now have the keyboard working. The trackpad, however, still is not working. I took it apart a second time and verified that the cables for the trackpad were plugged all the way in (where the black line on the ribbon cables are flush with the connectors on the boards), and still no go. Anybody have any experience with a non-functional trackpad?

Oh, wow! It didn't even take me an hour to break it again. Went and re-read threads on various forums, and people were having some luck with cold booting while docked. So I did, and yet again the keyboard ceased functioning. Despite having not even moved while reading/rebooting, I opened the dock once more. Of course, nothing appears to have changed, so I don't even know what to do at this point. The vendor has refunded my money, so at least I'm not out anything; it'd be really nice if I could somehow restore function, though.
I can get a replacement keypad/trackpad off eBay, but I'm concerned that my problem may be where the cables attach to the main board. Of course it could also be the ribbon cables themselves. Anyone know somewhere to get new cables at a reasonable price?
I've got the keyboard working again. Seems like once I plug it in to charge, the keyboard stops working and i have to go play with the cables to remedy that. that's only when charging with the tablet attached. haven't tried seeing what happens if i undock, then charge, then redock.
kinda surprised nobody's had any input... <shrugs>. and in regards to something i had said before, it seems i was a bit mistaken: i can order a replacement keypad, but not the trackpad. i'm wondering if i might need a new main board for this instead, though. would like to hear something out of someone who's replaced a board in the dock before i pull the trigger on one. anyone? anyone? Bueller?
new update:
had to set the dock to charge, and naturally, the keyboard didn't work. so i went and took it apart again. this time, though, I plugged the tablet in to the base prior to screwing everything back. I detached the cables from the mainboard, reseated, and checked-- no change. so I detached the mainboard cables again, and proceeded to reseat the cabling where the touchpad is. snapped the tablet back into place; lo and behold, I got a little circle on screen... hey! the trackpad's working!!! Excitedly, I screwed the screws under the trackpad button, and replaced the button, and proceeded to close the tablet so I could flip the dock over and replace the other screws/feet. Opened everything back up and unlocked the tablet and.............. <price is right tuba noise here> no trackpad. total freaking bummer.
I'm guessing now that maybe there's some kind of short somewhere. When I get to my destination this evening (or perhaps tomorrow, to be honest), I will further explore this new development. It's interesting at the very least. I do know the pad isn't totally dead in the water.
it's odd... charging causes the keyboard to stop functioning, and screws apparently cause the pad to stop functioning. very odd.
i've sat down and dismantled the entire thing. i decided to unplug the battery from the system board for a while thinking there might be some kind of situation where that could be helpful. let it sit probably 2 hours while i worked on something else. now i've reassembled, snapped it back together (but no screws yet), and the trackpad is working. has been working for the last hour, give or take. dock is down to 38% charge, so i'm trepidatious (is that even a word? lol) about which step to take next -- seeing what happens when i screw this thing back together, or try and see what happens when i attempt to charge it. i'll have to make some sort of decision, so once that happens, i'll post yet another update. hopefully a solve.
Problems with a dock? unplug that battery for a while!
I've rounded the last corner i think. i've got the charger plugged in to the dock as i sit here and type; trackpad still works too. all that's left is trying to screw it back together, so i'm gonna call this tenatively solved. because if i just can't have screws for some strange reason, i suppose i'm fine with that.
Still working... How does one go about marking something 'solved'? Ask a mod...?
Hi, my situation is; got a galaxy s7, the rear camera was bad, bought a new original one, stripped the phone down, fitted the camera, followed the tutorial (ifixit), put a new battery in at the same time, now rebuilt it all, (without the rear case on so can still easily take it apart again) and it wont turn on, wont go into safe mode, recovery mode, soft reset etc, tried every method, also via usb to my laptop, however it does charge, it comes up on the screen with the green battery icon and the LED light illuminates as if it is charging. Therefore, the screen is not damaged. And as far as i can see, all the connections are back joined onto the motherboard, it just wont boot up.
Also, if this makes any difference, I am running the Superman rom.
Any help would be massively appreciated as I have scowered so many websites searching for someone with a similar issue with a solution and I'm struggling, massively!
Are you sure you have connected the battery as required and no other circuit was touched?
Also, do you have the certainty this "new" battery works? I suggest you do the next 2 things:
1. Take this battery out and connect your old one. this way you can check if the new battery is faulty.
2. If doesn't work, even after inserting again the old battery, take your phone to a local repair center. (probably you messed something up).

I'd start by reversing everything you did until it powers on again, if it still doesn't power on with the old camera module & old battery in then start looking at other things, i'd probably start with the battery though as it is a power issue
The new battery charges and it comes up on my screen showing the green battery image charging so it is being recognised. Tried the old battery and its the same situation. I genuinely believe I didnt accidently short anything and im confident everythinf is where it needs to be. Ive just booked in to go to the samsung shop this weekend so hopefully they manage to find skmething althpugh probably end up costing a daft amount. Thanks for the replies so far

New camera module? Did you remove it to see if it is causing the problem?
I know there are different sensors, and if the wrong one is replaced the camera won't work, not heard about it stopping the phone booting but you never know

My son recently gave me his old Moto G5 phone. The phones charging board was broken and the screen was very badly cracked all over (it had a screen protector) and was generally not in the best of condition.
My son had bought a replacement screen several months ago, but had not got around to trying it. The battery was also totally flat.
So he gave me the phone and I installed a new charging board and the new screen and charged the battery.
Unfortunately an area of the new screen does not respond to key input . This area is a line of keys towards the bottom of the screen (not the bottom though).
My son says that he had not noticed any such problem when he last used it (he kept using it until the battery went flat; he then purchased a new phone).
I've tried doing a factory reset. I've removed and re-connected the display cable onto the main board and these have not fixed the problem .
I am not sure what to try next :crying::crying:. I could purchase yet another screen in case this new screen has a fault (probably unlikely?).
Presumably it could be the main board (digitizer?)...How can I find that out?
Maybe I have done something wrong on the install, but seems odd that the rest of the screen (as far as I can tell) works ok. What might I have done to have caused this problem?
Has anybody got any useful tips as to what I could try. Seems a waist of a good phone, not to try and repair it.
