Issues with Wake Launch Gestures - HTC One Mini

I'm using xXminiWHOOPERxX's v6 kernel and have a few issues with wake launch gestures.
1) They don't respect being in my pocket. Swipe up is set to flashlight and down is set to play/pause music. Often, i set them off when taking phone out of pocket, or putting it in pocket.
2) Wake launch gestures won't go past lock screen (I wrote about this in the developer section). So, i can't use wlg to open apps or unlock the device. No matter what action i have wlg set for it only wakes the device to the lockscreen.
3) Yesterday, after about a day of using miniwhooper's v6 kernel, my phone suddenly started vibrating and rebooting. It did this constantly for about 30 minutes so i turned my phone off for about an hour. When i started it back up, it was fine. The phone wasn't hot or anything, either. Also, i have s2w, s2s, disabled, so it wasn't the issue where people were swiping the soft keys and getting long vibration/reboot.
Thanks again for all your hard work xXminiWHOOPERxX!

Try this kernel with Sense 6.0 toolbox, it has fixes for these problems. Or you can wait til xXminiWHOOPERxX updates her kernel

[Tip] How-to get out of unresponsive screen in S2W ROMs (at least MIUI v5) [SOLVED]

Problem
In the last two days I've tried CM 10.2 weekly, Mokee OS, VanirAOSP, and MIUI v5, all with ONE common problem. The touch screen goes unresponsive after the phone automatically goes to sleep (although the hardware buttons work, and wakes the device up, you can't unlock or touch anything). Swipe to wake doesn't work in bringing the touch back, and disabling it didn't help either.
Finally, I think I have a solution. This worked in MIUI v5 (in which I faced the same trouble)
My guess is that it is related to the proximity sensor auto lock feature.
Solution
When the screen goes unresponsive keep your hand over the whole screen as if you've put the phone in your pocket, for about 5 seconds. Make sure you're covering the proximity sensor. And now, try swipe to wake or power button or whatever.
This works like charm, and you can in fact use it to trick your friends where they fail to unlock your phone and you do focus pocus magic on it!
Note
This is annoying when someone calls you and you can't pick up because the screen isn't responsive. For that, (at least in MIUI v5) enable the volume up hardware key to answer the call, and power button to end the call. (In Settings -> Control Panel -> Calls, in MIUI v5)
Edit: If this didn't work directly from sleep, press some hardware key to make the screen light up and then press the phone to your chest

Issues when locked, in pocket...

Hi all!
I have the fingerprint locked option enabled. I find that sometimes, somehow the phone vibrates when it is in my pocket. When i take the phone out of my pocket, it will say fingerprint lock disabled. It's as though it is detecting the inside of pocket as a print, that's trying to unlock the phone. I also find that the flashlight turns it self on whilst it is in my pocket and also the bluetooth and wifi.
Is anyone having similar issues?
Finding it really annoying.
I've found some of my settings changed before, and I've noticed that the double tap to wake will work through thin material . . . like a jeans pocket.
When you put it in your pocket, turn the screen towards your body and see if that helps. Failing that, try disabling double tap to wake.
I've not had the fingerprint sensor disabled message myself, but the sensor can also trigger through thin material too. It obviously won't read any fingerprint, so if it happens a few times, it just temporarily disables the sensor.
I had to disable the double-tap to wake screen option as it was always triggering in my pocket (screen facing in). I only have screen lock set to swipe though so walking/climbing stairs was waking the screen, pulling down the notification panel and going to town changing settings. I even somehow managed to change the time display setting from 24 hour to 12 hour. I mean, how the hell can that happen in a short few minutes in a pocket?!
Glove mode is/was off if anyone thinks that might be the cause. No screen protector either.
I only have the sensor lock if my finger fails to unlock the phone after a few tries. Every time the fingerprint is not properly read it will vibrate, after about 4 go's, it locks and you need to type in your pin. I'm guessing something is pressing the power button in your pocket and it's trying to scan your finger but failing, so by the time you pull it out, it's locked itself!
I too had to diable double tap to wake because it kept coming on in my pocket. even if it does not get past the fingerpring lock it still wastes some battery.
it would be nice if something could be done in tasker to:
if phone is flat on table(accelerometer)
then enable double tap to wake.
else disable it.
DT2W is wayyy too sensible at the moment. I hope Sony will fix it. A touch or double touch shouldn't be detected through clothes when the screen is off.
That feature was perfectly tweaked on my OnePlus One running CM12.1, and I liked to use it
Yeah I find the screen touch, fingerprint and rotation all way too sensitive. I have already disabled 2 of them, fingerprint is next....
Sent from my E6653
Ditto with the tap to wake frustratingly waking my phone constantly in my pocket. Never had the problem with the Z3. So many issues with this phone that were perfect on the Z3 feel like I've gone backwards.
same issue here, tap to wake activated and called the cops on me LOL...OMG
This is so annoying. My phone always wakes (through dt2w) when in my pocket and does weird stuff: changes settings, calls people, etc...
The one thing I found working for me is keeping the screen facing away from my body while in my pocket. It doesn't wake the phone up then.
I have this problem as well.
Try gravity screen app. It should turn off the screen in 1 second or less should it accidentally turn on while in the pocket.
This has bothered me loads so i've disabled the feature. You'd think they would make use of the light sensor to detect if the phone is in the pocket and then not unlock the phone on double-tab. There's the standard Google 'on-body' feature which can be used to disable security when the phone is detected as on your person.
and this is how a very useful feature quickly became most annoying issue... because of a defective light sensor or its faulty software development.
another thing I don't understand: if screen is locked, why notification access isn't ?!? at least they should put an option to enable or disable it.
sony customer care ?!?

That's actually standard Android behaviour would you believe - both Lollipop and Marshmallow. Don't expect a "fix" for this anytime soon...
It's configurable on iPhone though. Go iOS!

Lockscreen help Marshmallow

Just installed Santod's NuSenSeven Marshmallow ROM and I'm not sure if I'm missing something with the security settings or it's just the way it is.
In older ROMs, I've setup the pattern screen lock to lock after 3-5 minutes of inactivity. If in between those 3-5 minutes I put my phone to sleep using the power button and press it again to wake it up, the standby screen appears and I just swipe to unlock it without inputting the pattern.
However, when I do that in this ROM, there is no standby screen but instead I get the page I was on when I put it to sleep.
It's not a deal breaker because I'm loving the ROM but just wanted to know if it's possible.
Bump. I am having the same problem.

"Force touch" home button stopped working?

An hour or so ago everything worked fine, and then I updated my playstores pending apps (only Fleksy was pending) and the "force touch" feature of the phones seems to have completely stopped working, no matter what setting I turned on or off it didn't work...
Anyone has a clue as to what can cause this?
General notes:
1. Using stock Exynos unlocked variant
2. I am using package disabler (which btw didn't improve much my battery life, but that might be just me using the phone too much ) so maybe one of the packages decided that it depends on a disabled one?
I noticed mine stops working after a reboot and takes about a minute or two to get back up and running. Try a restart after clearing caches, if nothing still, reboot in safe mode. If it works, then its an app you installed interfering.

Mine also stop working after I restart my S8 Plus, it will again work if I wait around 20 minutes. Is this software or hardware problem? Any solutions?
Wish mine would stop working permanently! can't stand that feature forever brushing across it and waking the phone up!

How does it act up on your part? Mine would just stop working if I restart the phone & I should wait sometimes hours before it would work again.
Every time i'm installing my phone in my car mount I need to hold the phone from the bottom to install it correctly and brushing my fingers across the bottom is constantly waking the phone up, I've lowered the sensitivity to it's minimum.

I see, problem is not the same. On my part the tactile home button simply doesn't work when you press on it. I have to double tap to wake the phone when on lockscreen.

Unless your phone is unlocked no pins etc the phone will just go to the lockscreen, it's a useless feature, most people have the phones locked and thus it's a complete waste of time, it sounds to me the capacitive home button part of the screen was an afterthought because they couldn't install the fingerprint reader under the screen, just had a software update yesterday and still can't turn it off, basic stuff Samsung should enable an ON/OFF toggle switch for this.
Had the same problem with my S8 Plus India Variant(SM-G955 FD), I got my screen replaced from service center, Device was not rooted back then, so was under warranty.
But it is an hardware issue, as since then it has never gone off.
I mean when I press the home button hard it doesn't wake the phone up & no vibration. It happens when I restart the device then it would stop working for few minutes to a few hours sometimes, then it would start working again normally until I restart the phone again. I think this is just a software issue.

Question LineageOS 19 + microg for OnePlus 9: Screen goes dark every few days and I have to reboot

Basically this, every 3 or 4 days or so my OnePlus screen will go dark. It isn't *crashing*, though - it's happened when I've had headphones in listening to music and the music still plays, responds to headset controls, etc., so I think it's just the screen. Normal reboot will not work (holding the power button), although this might be because that presents a reboot menu rather than just rebooting the device. I have to do power button + volume up to reboot the device, at which point it reboots and everything is back to normal. I'm happy to gather any addition logs/data needed to debug, but I can't find anything in my crash debugging app (because it's not a crash...). Other interesting pieces of info
- I get the "Intent Verification Service stopped responding" issue every reboot
- I originally installed by wiping OOS + Android 12 and trying to install 19.1 and 19.1 recovery; this failed (same problem as here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/denying-ota-because-it-is-a-spl-downgrade.4463975/), so I installed 18 instead, which failed, but then wiping and going back to 19 succeeded (because the update was newer and thus no longer a "downgrade", I presume. IDK what really happened there).
- Trying to do Android Beam hard crashes the whole device; I've disabled NFC for now
Other than that the build runs swimmingly. I can live with the other stuff but the screen shutting off randomly is worrying to me - anything I can do to fix this or help you guys help me fix it?

Ok, it's been about a week and a half, I thought this was resolved but lately the issue has cropped up again, always at inconvenient times. Any logging I can enable or other settings I can tweak?
Had the same issue when I upgraded from C.61, which I now have learned breaks some sensors like light and proximity.
I'm currently back to stock until I have some time on the weekend to experiment again with downgrading to C.47 and then installing LineageOS.
Seems to be happening more frequently as of late. Friendly reminder for those of you experiencing this to not press the power button a bunch of times to try and resolve as (at least on my phone) this calls 911 and then you have to awkwardly explain to emergency services that there is no emergency :/

I'm having the same issue continously, basically every time I put my phone into my pocket, it is unable to wake...
It is responsive but it's like the proximity sensor gets messed up.
I used on the proximity sensor tester apps to prove that it is still functioning properly, which I could turn it off at this point as it's certainly causing the issue based that it only happens when I put it into my pocket.
I've tried almost every combination of those settings at this point and it's not working. Might try doing a factory reset at this point..
Edit: I've used SD Maid to clear everything, it helped a bit.
Still having black screens. Going to just downgrade back to lineage os 18 till Twrp comes out for 12
