Hi People! Greetings from the Philippines.
I've been having this problem since I first started using custom roms on my GALAXY TAB 2 10.1 (P5100). When flashing some zip files for p5100, (using philz touch recovery) it shows this(or something like this) : "the zip is for espresso10rf this is espresso10wifi." Which means that it detects my device as p5110 i suppose, so, i then installed the zip for p5110, it succeeded. But, my tablet lost its 3g capabilities after installing the zip. . And, worst part is, i use my tablet for calling and texting. So, without the capabilities, the tablet practically has no use for me. My question is, why does this happen and how do you fix it?
Oh, and let me add more details.
-error showed when trying to flash cyanogenmod (ALL VERSIONS) for p5100 (3g)
-also showed when trying to flash dhollmen kernel for p5100.
-right now, i'm using stock p5100 rom version 4.2.2
-also i'm using stock dhollmen kernel forp5110. (It's now faster and has less lag, but, it doesnt have any 3g capabilities.)
I KNOW THIS IS MY FIRST POST, BUT PLEASE HELP ME TO SOLVE MY PROBLEM. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. :good::good::good:

I think you have flashed a P5110 recovery instead of P5100. And you probably need to flash a P5100 kernel or just a different ROM. SlimKat and OmniRom are both good choices as far as smoothness and stability.

(I actually flashed p5110's recovery on my p5100, so, that's why it detects my tab as a p5110.) THANKS MAN! Good tthing I started to use XDA hahaha :good::cyclops:
One last thing, if you would have some time, could you give me some tips on how to get a higher rank here on xda? I'll try to help as much people as and if I can. (AS A THANKS TO YOU .)

You get ranks (junior member, member, senior member) based on number of posts. If you are helpful and people click thanks it raises your thanks count.. So if you click thanks on my post above (hint hint) it helps me.
If my posts solved your problem, click thanks and add [SOLVED] to the beginning of the post title in your first post.

Hey Everyone.
Can we please populate this thread with all the versions of roms especially for the N8020.
I have a question for the Dev's though... how hard is it to customize existing N801X roms into N802X roms?
There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of choice for us who are using the LTE / 4G version of this tablet!
I have been looking for the same thing.

This is a good idea. Including the Verizon SCH-i925 lte version.
Its really a big shame IMO as the lack of development on the LTE version has really made the device a little boring and uninspired...
Don't get me wrong though; as a commercial product its actually quite sound and is very stable in my experience but just boring for someone who really got a taste for flashing when they owned a Tab 7"... that device was saved by the development in the beginning and really had some awesome enhancements by the time I lost my device and stopped checking in..
Anyway all I have at the moment is this one;
Darkman [ROM][STOCK][4.1.2][BMC3] ★★N8020★★ Stock Rooted Busybox Deodexed (CWM) [12/05/2013]
And;
emptynick's thread asking for a wish list of ROM's for the n8020
That's it though...
Anyway the second one is a newish one and so maybe someone is going to take on the job for us and get some stuff ported at the very least.. who knows

Could somebody tell me, what changes have to be done to get roms running on the n8020 (wifi+lte). In case Ubuntu Touch I already tried to modify the install script to get it installing with the different partition layout. Installing is fine, but it freezes at the first samsung boot screen.
Thank you

I'm no dev, but it seems like the kernels are quite different in android roms. Maybe the same in linux?
Need to post something to share my work at developers section.

Hi there,
I will install the CM 10.1 from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2398729. I'm a little bit new in the root of Android tablet.
What is the "Tablet UI" added there are few days ?
Thanks,
Hey guys, this is the newest (as of October 5th, 2013) stock rom available for the North American, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8" WiFi model.
I am not sure if this will work with any other version (ie: 7", 10", 3G, international, etc..)
Hopefully somebody can work with this to make our first custom rom, who knows!
This is intended to be used on the North American, SM-T310 8" WiFi model!
DO NOT COME AND CRY TO ME ABOUT IT BRICKING YOUR DEVICE.
YOU WILL LOSE ROOT. YOU WILL HAVE A FACTORY RESET DEVICE WHEN THIS IS FINISHED.
This was taken directly from Samsung's FWUS and is exactly what you would get by using Samsung Kies to update the device.
I'm not going to give a tutorial about how to place your device into bootloader/download mode, or how to use this file, but I will give a brief description for you. Search this site for plenty of tutorials on Samsung Download Mode, and also where to obtain Odin (along with instructions on how to use it.)
I have NOT found this file ANYWHERE else, so if you're going to leech it, or re-upload it somewhere else, just give credit, or link back to this post, please.
1 - Decompress the zip file
2 - Put device into bootloader/download mode
3 - Execute Odin
4 - Select "PDA" option within Odin, and select the .tar.md5 file that was extracted from step 1
5 - Start

flashed.
its quite different from what i had though... T310ZTUAMG2 (Taiwan)
like auto brightness, my previous rom allows me to adjust the auto bightness level, but this one does not. its either manual or full on auto.
which one is newer?
I assume the one with fine auto brightness adjustment is newer...
Yet this one has a better keyboard... like numbers above qwerty keyboard. handwriting with multiple words on lines.
(The other one uses full screen handwriting, numbers located at a separated tab) >> I think its because Taiwan version uses "Samsung Chinese Keyboard" instead of "Samsung Keyboard", which by the way both support multiple languages but with different layout.
Are the Gapps included in this rom?
Thanks

Yes, this is the entire stock rom, just like you would receive it via ota or Kies.
Download link is no good.
Is no one developing custom ROMs yet because it's so new, or will we never see custom ROMs?
Sorry for the dead link, guys.
I accidentally deleted it from my server, and never realized it!
I've uploaded it to a mediafire link for you all, though! The link is in the original post
Let me know if anybody needs any mirrors or anything!
Is the MD5 hash available for comparison?

I've tried flashing this over my existing CM 10.2 install; Odin seems perfectly happy writing out all the images ( boot/recovery/system ), but when the Tab restarts, it gets stuck on the Samsung logo.
I can revert back to CM10.2 without issue - but I can't seem to get back to stock.

Quick question: do you have access to stock recovery only? I flashed philz, but would love the option to flash the original recovery without the rest of the files, just in case.

This question will sound n00b ... but I have to ask since I just got my ATT SGH-I497 Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 back from Samsung after blowing it up TWICE trying to install TeamWIN recovery onto it. Can anyone please inform me of the EXACT recovery file that will work for my device? I have tried several and I only have a TeamWIN from MrHyde 2.4.4.0 that works and I want to use a newer version (2.6.x.x) so I can install newer roms. Anyone who can answer me with the latest exact TeamWIN recovery file to flash gets a free beer from me. -smiles-
I realize this post may be sent to the wrong part of the forum but I hope that one of you talented dev's can get me squared away. There are many more ATT guys who will appreciate the newer recovery also believe me.
Thank You to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

like this rom
i like this rom only had a few problems but after a reboot seams to be working good again
I have the weirdest thing happening. I'm on stable 7 and have been for quite a while. It's worked perfectly until a couple days ago and now I can't send text messages out. I think I can receive OK. Just can't send out. I've even tried doing a clean install of this and other ROMs with same result. It gets more odd... After toying with it I can send only one text out. Just one to any person. But I can't send another unless I reboot or I think wait a few hours. Upon reboot I again can send only one text message out. And so on. I have no clue what could be happening. Any ideas?

Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot
Hi, I just loaded up Slimkat 4.4.4 with the stock kernel on my Verizon Galaxy S3. I used to use the Wifi Tether TrevE Mod with my previous version and that worked, however, this does not appear to work in this rom. I noticed there was a built in Portable Wi-Fi hotspot, which does work perfectly. I would like to use this but am just concerned that somehow VZ would know I am tethering and I would incur additional charges. Do I have anything to worry about or am I just being paranoid?
Thank you for a GREAT product, it's a spectacular rom.

I'm running a old version of Hyperdrive v6 on a N8013 Android 4.1.2. According to rootchecker, my bootloader is N8013UEUCMC2 and Kernel version is 3.0.31-813049.
I was looking at Gnabo's thread and I'm wondering if I need to flash any of these, Kernel for N801X, WiFi Fix for N801X and Remove phone stuff for N801x, or are those already included in your ROM?
Thanks

Just to let you know I had to install the wifi fix after installing your rom. I haven't had time to play with it too much but so far it seems to run very smoothly

I was wondering, you know that page with 6 sections that shows news and side sync. How do I open the news stories? I figured out that you can flip up and down to scroll through different stories but can't figure out how to open the story.
Also, this isn't related to your rom but I've been out of the loop for awhile, can you tell me what is the best current solution for installing flash for websites.
Thanks again, I've been using it a lot for the last few hours after I got wifi working and I'm really loving it!
hi
What recovery you use?
I tried to philz recovery and the TWRP, but the installation takes only a few seconds and nothing in this device.
Sorry for my english...
Long time gnabo fan here, eagerly waiting for V5.

I'm really enjoying it, thank you!
sorry my poor english,
Tab S Sensation ROm Will Not Install
When I try to install this ROM, I get the following error, am using PhilZ Touch 6 recovery CWM 6.0.4.7.
The error is;
format () expects 5 args, got 4
E:Error in /data/media/0/download_rom/TAB.S.Sensation.V6.n801x.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted.
I did a Wipe Data/Factory Reset. My internal storage has about 1/6 G free, and the SDCARD has about 2 G free.
What could be wrong, I have downloaded the ROM twice now.
Any suggestion appreciated.
Thanks
what is your device?
try you first apply Gnabo rom? :good:
@AhmedSafian thank you for your hard work. This ROM is definitely the one that made my tab look new. Just wanted to report few things.
(N8013)
1) xposed is not pre-installed? If ever I'll do it manually, which version would you recommend.
2) I installed a HULU app since I do have an account with them, (it's like Netflix) it doesn't run. Any suggestions on what to do with it?
3) Is Sound Alive better than (Dolby Digital)?
