Searching for the best equalizer setting I finally found one.. Hope this will help to bring out the best in your earphones!
plz upload export file what we can easily import in our poweramp
Try out
Will try out soon..
Each system and user are different; no one size fits all!
That curve would sound horrible with the Buds+ if your hearing is still good and even if it wasn't.

When you change a slider it alters not just those frequencies between it and the adjacent sliders but others down the line. Try to start at zero and pull down offending ranges, then jack up the volumn as needed. Boost others as needed but try to keep the slider curve smooth like a sign wave as uneven increases can really screw up the sound.
On my Denon flagship reciever/sound system no equalizer was needed; I dial in the subwoofer cutoff and then level as needed. That was all other than changing the music mode as needed, sometimes going to straight 2 speaker stereo.
The 10+/ Buds+ are not near as well balanced as the former sound system and need heavy equalization to bring them up to par.
One EQ profile will not fit all music; on Poweramp I have over a dozen. It allows you set a profile per song, album, playlist.
It takes a lot of time and trouble to set up a EQ profile(s) for a large music collection. My collection goes back to the 30's swing to modern R&R, each has different requirements to maximize its sound.

Hey guys, I been trying to find a way to boost my volume lvl when watching a movie, the stock volume doesnt seem to be loud enough, my fan in my room drowns out the stock volume when pushed to near max lvl.
So far the only 2 apps that I found have been Volume+ and Equalizer so I wanted to know,
which of the two works best? If you use them what are your settings?
Can you have both Equalizer and Volume+ installed at the same time?
Or are you using a different app?
I currently have Volume+ installed and cant tell if its doing anything.
As far as Equalizer goes, i have no idea what bars to push up so i pushed them all up and that seem to help make my volume louder.
Thanks.

As far as I know, Volume+ was made to work with Gingerbread phones only as stated in the developers market page, meanwhile Equalizer has been officially updated to support Honeycomb tablet screen sizes. I have been using Equalizer myself since the Xoom launched back in February. It worked great then, and now it works even better with the recent Honeycomb UI update!
The best sound output settings would be to drag all of the bars up to +15dB. The bass booster intensity, virtualizer, and the reverb settings would all be your personal preference. It usually won't ever distort the sound in any way, but rather increase the overall system volume by... I'm going to say literally 10 times louder. You'll notice an immediate difference especially while listening to music or watching a movie. Also, make sure that you have the notification bar shortcut option checked as the equalizer can sometimes be shut down by the Android system. Doing so will force it to turn back on automatically after a few seconds time.
Been using this exact setup for months now, and couldn't be happier! Hope this helps.
Disagree with above post. Don't crank up all your sliders to Max. Increase DB means you will get more distortion especially bass. Yes it will be louder. But the audio quality is utter crap. Why trade loudness and throw away the quality sounds this machine can produce? Half way up or less and keep lowest bass and high trebble a bit further back is my Max recommendation for Equalizer app. Heck just experiment and listen. I have both apps. Volume+ was a godsend to my evo 3d. Ended up returning it anyways. The volume increase bar doesn't work the same way on zoom. Also once in a while you have to move certain sliders lower for the effect to kick back in. Overall it sounded fake, hallow, washed out. Equalizer is a way better app for the zoom. You can set profiles and specific files can use different profiles. You aren't losing loudness per say cause it never really worked on zoom like other phones and zoom is already loud. For speaker I just choose flat. All at zero. Better then what zoom had as default.

Hmm.. I have been doing what I said in my post above since I got the OG Droid pretty much since it launched. The Droid maxes out at 10dB. Been using DSPManager on it to drag all bars to max dB. Yes, I know what that means, but with this method you will not be turning the system volume all the way up. It will be much louder, and I have not noticed any quality issues while maxing the dB while my Xoom is connected to my 200 watt wireless speaker system with the subwoofer cranked all the way up. It will cause quality issues if the system volume is totally maxed out, of course. That's common sense, but you will not ever have the need to do such a thing if you simply just adjust your Xoom's system volume properly and accordingly. You pretty much never ever want to max out the system volume if you were to use these kind of heavy settings on an equalizer. Again, common sense.
But yes, that's why there are the adjustable bars for an equalizer. You can change the settings on the fly just as you please. No audio quality loss if you do it right. I'm a tech expert, and that's what I have been doing for years. Wouldn't ever change it because there is no quality loss if you do it correctly, and the sound is ten times louder. Only you can decide what works best for your situation. Thanks!
Hi, after many months and Power Amping I decided to stop PA and use UberMusic with DSP!
Now if you don't know what DSP manager is, well it is an application used to enhance music experience!
It has 5 options.
-Dynamic Range Compression
(Compresses loud sounds and amplifies quieter sounds for a "balance")
-Bass Boost
(Amplifies Bass sounds (bass guitar, "thumps" lower sounds))
-Equalizer
(Changes the sounds or levels of a song more on this later)
-Loudness Compensation
(Makes the track or sound louder leading to possible distortion)
-Virtual Room 3D effect
(Mimics a "3D" effect (think toy microphone))
Okay so you might be saying. "It depends on what people like" or "These settings are not optimal"
Well not exactly.
I have researched all functions and have become a noobie Audiophile.
These settings aren't my "this sounds good" setting. These are chosen according on how music and headphones work.
These settings work on almost all kinds of songs! Headphones don't matter either it will enhance the headphones!
Now for the settings.
For the first DYNAMIC RANGE COMPRESSION: You want to turn this completely off. And I'll explain why.
This makes the sounds leveled but amplifies or makes the track louder which leads to distortion at high levels. And one REALLY IMPORTANT REASON. Unless you have a 80's or 90's or lower song that is NOT mastered (updated) then this option is bad. All modern songs are already really compressed and most people agree.
Bass Boost:
Leave it at Slight or Medium.
some headphones have little bass and some have a lot.
Equalizer
You want to male them look like stair steps going from left to right.
Loudness compensation:
It is like Dynamic range compression but doesn't change sounds or levels them it just makes it louder...I use Voodoo Sound so its not needed but if you have an HTC or Motorola phone then set it to weak or strong to prevent distortion.
Headphone Virtual Room effect.
This option tries to make the song feel surround soundy, but it just doesn't work for most. It takes some sounds and covers them as all it does it just produce an echo effect so off.
Give feedback!

Thanx Allan, its really useful information
I was searching all over the play store for a way to boost the music sound and nothing was working in fact it would make the sound worse and lower than it already was and this is another thing we can't change without root permissions but luckily I found PowerAmp and this app literally made the music almost 50% louder so if you like your music louder I suggest you give it a shot and it can easily be found on the play store! Make sure you learn to use the equalizer and pre amp features because it makes it extremely loud but if you go into the settings and turn on the gain levels you can make it so loud that it's going to hurt your ears so just a warning lol.. Google Play Store PowerAmp!
My issue is not so much the speaker but the ear piece for calls. It just seems very low. I have issues hearing everyone unless it is cranked.... and it is still not loud enough.
Does PowerAmp affect the ear speaker too?
Update: I am guessing not since this is a "music player"

No this is only when you're playing music or videos through the PowerAmp player. Have you tried adjusting the hearing settings in settings then accessibility and Hearing? See if that may help or you can go through Settings then Sounds and Vibration and tap Sound Quality And effects and go through the entire process.

What are you trying to say? Lol..
It should be noted that the lower the bitrate of the audio file being played, the lower you will be able to increase the pre-amp level before getting massive distortion. I bought PowerAmp long ago and have used it almost exclusively, and the pre-amp I generally set pretty high, but most of my audio is FLAC with some 320WMA mixed in and the rare 192 and lower for rare stuff I had to rip from Youtube or other less than ideal sources. With FLAC files you can boost the pre-amp quite high and lot lose any quality or introduce any distortion. Using my Sony MDR-XB500 headphones and FLAC files, and the PowerAmp pre-amp, the audio levels easily get to painful/damaging-to-your-ears levels without distortion, but "standard" bitrate music (192kbps-ish) starts to distort pretty low on the pre-amp.
Hi,
I have a rooted Xperia Z5 and I have 32 ohm earbuds that have a very clear bass reproduction, and they sound great with the phone's built-in impedance matching feature (called "Automatic optimisation" in the settings). However, that feature also "enhances" the low end to the point where the earbuds physically break. I don't use any EQ or bass boost, because it's already more than enough.
Now I've seen a lot of sound mods that purportedly boost bass and whatnot, and wanting to do the exact opposite of that I decided to try looking for a tutorial on what all the different settings do and how to change them, which I couldn't find. I tried looking at my own mixer_paths.xml to see if I could make sense of it by myself but although mostly friendly named the settings are pretty cryptic and I'm not sure if I could for instance, if I found something that looks like a high pass filter in the telephony mixer channel, simply copy it to the headphone channel and have it sound right or even work at all.
To clarify, what I want to do is just cut off everything below, say, 30Hz, and then see how high I can go before things start to sound bad, or maybe do a more gentle roll-off if that's possible. I've tried the graphic equaliser but the 5 bars available are way too crude to do something like this. Doing a -1 or -2 on the bass boost slider certainly helps but it affects too much (the range is too high).
So any help on whether or not this is even possible and if so where I should look are appreciated. Thanks!
I have mild to mod hearing loss. I have hearing aids but there are cases where wearing them is not possible or desirable, a key one being when using NC headphones. So to compensate I have searched high & low for an Equalizer app or any other audio amplification category type app that can boost on-board/streaming volume by frequency. Basically it "should" be as simple as an Equalizer app that has the abiity to boost up to say 30-40dB (or more) but the highest I've ever seen is 18dB. Most apps only run 6-10 band to max 10 or 15dB. Even Neutralizer that appears to sort of fit this need can only boost to 10!
There seems to be an abundance of apps that target hearing impaired but they are either hearing aid paired apps & just control the aides or they try to substitute for aides & amplify ambient sound - ie amplify microphone input. One of these Petralex goes to 30dB, which makes me think it is technically possible.
So bottom line is I have to wonder if it is technically just not possible; Android doesn't allow that level/power of amplification or is that there is just not enough perceived need for something along these lines. I could see it as an add for the headphone makes but again - eg: Sony MX headphones companion app has an Eq but only boost to 10dB - meant for taste not hearing loss.
I have a DEV background but have worked in sys admin for 10+ years now - IF it is possible I may entertain the idea of giving it a shot myself even if only for my own use.
