Hey guys, I been trying to find a way to boost my volume lvl when watching a movie, the stock volume doesnt seem to be loud enough, my fan in my room drowns out the stock volume when pushed to near max lvl.
So far the only 2 apps that I found have been Volume+ and Equalizer so I wanted to know,
which of the two works best? If you use them what are your settings?
Can you have both Equalizer and Volume+ installed at the same time?
Or are you using a different app?
I currently have Volume+ installed and cant tell if its doing anything.
As far as Equalizer goes, i have no idea what bars to push up so i pushed them all up and that seem to help make my volume louder.

As far as I know, Volume+ was made to work with Gingerbread phones only as stated in the developers market page, meanwhile Equalizer has been officially updated to support Honeycomb tablet screen sizes. I have been using Equalizer myself since the Xoom launched back in February. It worked great then, and now it works even better with the recent Honeycomb UI update!
The best sound output settings would be to drag all of the bars up to +15dB. The bass booster intensity, virtualizer, and the reverb settings would all be your personal preference. It usually won't ever distort the sound in any way, but rather increase the overall system volume by... I'm going to say literally 10 times louder. You'll notice an immediate difference especially while listening to music or watching a movie. Also, make sure that you have the notification bar shortcut option checked as the equalizer can sometimes be shut down by the Android system. Doing so will force it to turn back on automatically after a few seconds time.
Been using this exact setup for months now, and couldn't be happier! Hope this helps.
Disagree with above post. Don't crank up all your sliders to Max. Increase DB means you will get more distortion especially bass. Yes it will be louder. But the audio quality is utter crap. Why trade loudness and throw away the quality sounds this machine can produce? Half way up or less and keep lowest bass and high trebble a bit further back is my Max recommendation for Equalizer app. Heck just experiment and listen. I have both apps. Volume+ was a godsend to my evo 3d. Ended up returning it anyways. The volume increase bar doesn't work the same way on zoom. Also once in a while you have to move certain sliders lower for the effect to kick back in. Overall it sounded fake, hallow, washed out. Equalizer is a way better app for the zoom. You can set profiles and specific files can use different profiles. You aren't losing loudness per say cause it never really worked on zoom like other phones and zoom is already loud. For speaker I just choose flat. All at zero. Better then what zoom had as default.

Hmm.. I have been doing what I said in my post above since I got the OG Droid pretty much since it launched. The Droid maxes out at 10dB. Been using DSPManager on it to drag all bars to max dB. Yes, I know what that means, but with this method you will not be turning the system volume all the way up. It will be much louder, and I have not noticed any quality issues while maxing the dB while my Xoom is connected to my 200 watt wireless speaker system with the subwoofer cranked all the way up. It will cause quality issues if the system volume is totally maxed out, of course. That's common sense, but you will not ever have the need to do such a thing if you simply just adjust your Xoom's system volume properly and accordingly. You pretty much never ever want to max out the system volume if you were to use these kind of heavy settings on an equalizer. Again, common sense.
But yes, that's why there are the adjustable bars for an equalizer. You can change the settings on the fly just as you please. No audio quality loss if you do it right. I'm a tech expert, and that's what I have been doing for years. Wouldn't ever change it because there is no quality loss if you do it correctly, and the sound is ten times louder. I'd disagree with the speakerphone being "too low", at least on my phone.
I've used it for several conference calls (within the confines of a small conference room), and the volume is sufficient even when not at max. What does affect the quality of voice being audible is the speakerphone itself - the audio is very "tinny" and I guess I'd describe as "unrealistic". It's sometimes difficult to understand exactly what the other party is saying, but has nothing to do with volume.
I've not had the same issue when playing music through the speakerphone. Quality is actually pretty decent for such a small and basic speaker, and definitely think it's better than the one on my former iPhone 3GS (but not as good as the Vibrant's which was great for multimedia AND voice calls).
When I had my G1, I used an app called Louder Volume Hack. It was fantastic. It is on the market I believe. I would ask the dev to see if it would work on the MT4G.
When I get rooted I'll probably try to run LVH, but I'm still waiting for the darn OTA and can't test it yet.
Actually, I should re-state:
I've not had any volume issues using the speakerphone for calls, and the speaker for multimedia (music, movies/videos), but...
I have noticed that videos recorded on the MT4G and on apps such as Tango, the volume is sometimes insufficient even at max setting.
I may try the LVH if it's in the Market and see if it works. Nice to have options, at least.
Thanks for the advice. I'll test the speaker as is when my phone comes in; maybe it'll be just fine. I looked up LVH, and it doesn't support newer phones like N1 and HTC Desire. Nevertheless it looks like something can probably be done.

The trick is to replace several config files in /system/etc. These files (Audio*.csv), if they exist in Froyo, are a good starting point for modifying the speaker volume.
Volume was very low through my earphones (I've tried multiple), so I looked around the forum for similar threads. There's a LOT of threads with low volume issues. I found Voodoo Control, installed it, and configured it to output maximum levels. Google Music is at an acceptable level now where I won't put it to maximum volume, but Moboplayer sounds like I have it at ~50% when I actually have everything maxed out. It's pretty much useless to watch a movie where there is any other noise even with my in-ear phones that isolate sound.
I'm running the original Prime 1.5, not the revised kernel (no SoD issues here). So I'm getting a bit desperate here because of all the other little issues I've had to deal with this tablet... What can I do to resolve this?
I can't be the only one with this issue. Google Music's volume is more than sufficiently loud after installing Voodoo Control and maxing out everything. I originally thought my problem was limited to Moboplayer, but it's anything else besides Google Music. I've viewed my videos through Mobo, Rock, and the built-in MyNet app. I have normalized the audio stream to 100% for my videos, but even when set to "max" volume, it is nowhere near loud enough if there's any other noise in the environment.
I really want to like this tablet (and I do to some extent), but there's all these little issues with the software and some hardware that are really making me -__-
I can't say I have this issue but I can say that the sound quality sucks and even at the highest volume it is too low.
I installed Power AMP which has an equalizer with a Loud Speaker Out Pre setting which is louder than anything I have seen yet. It seems when you set your tab to this any other music player will pick it up and it is definitely louder.

Coming from an iPhone, where - when playing my music at the gym via headphones - i could barely reach 3/4 of the volume. With the INFUSE, i am full-on, and it's still insufficient. Volume is too low.
Any way to fix this?

If you're running a custom rom it probably has voodoo sound activated which by default is set to -10 db.
Anyhow, go to the market and download voodoo control app (free), open the app and set the very first setting which is headphone amplifier to maximum.
Hmmm... I think ive seen what you describe yet i only remeber seeing while on bluetooth earpiece... I reflashed the rom and was fixed... I barely go above half volume on earpieces its really loud even at 3/4 for me atleast... Never had sound problems on Infuse... If anything... I wpuld have to say ots the clearest and loudest phone ive had so far

Hey guys, I'm looking for a way to control my S6's mic's volume/gain input level, for weeks now, and I have found nothing.
The reason why I'm looking for a way is so that when I'm recording some video in a louder environment the sound gets blown out, cause the phone just can't handle the gain control automatically, so I'd like to lower it manually to have nice sounding recordings.
no one? why is there literally no info on this in the last few years? Is there an option hidden somewhere that I'm missing?

I also have a low volume during calls. I flashed a MOD to increase the volume and although it is better, it's still not good enough.
Only possible through kernel tweak but there is no dev who is interested in doing that so im afraid you cant for the moment
When playing songs at full volume with outdoor mode on at full volumes the vocals die down when the bass hits, it sounds like a cheap Bluetooth speaker. Anyone else facing the same issue?
Please try it and let me know if the vocals get dim when the base hits.
Try the Song Glass House by MGK or any of the drake songs.

Your sure it's not a sound system issue?
If the device performs well with quality headphones it's likely not the cause.
You should be coming out in the 24bit digital realm if possible otherwise it will degrade the sound quality if the source is high fidelity.

So I noticed this issue early on and I tried the song you mentioned and have replicated the problem.
Except, I don't think it's a bug. In outdoor mode, the volume is boosted but at that volume the bass would be distorting in these speakers and therefore it lowers the overall sound.
You can replicate this even without outdoor mode on but with bass slider at max in audiowizard. You will get the same problem.
So, it works this way because that's how it's designed. Unfortunately.

Alright thank you, but that's the thing I mean the speakers are good but you cannot use them to their full potential, the front camera is absolutely terrible for video calls, Snapchat is just a blurred face, I mean what's the point of this phone when it cannot get the basics right it overheats but 40C is acceptable. But thank you for confirming, I thought there is some hardware issue with my phone.
I think that's just the audio processing trying to compensate for the bass and prevent speaker over-excursion with soft clipping or dynamic range compression. The speakers are inherently limited in size and as far as I know, the phone doesn't use the entire back or front to improve bass response (like LG's Boombox feature).
You can try to EQ the bass down or disable the DTS processing.

Use Poweramp for complete equalizer control.
It's limiter works flawlessly.
If the phone 24 bit digital output and you use it there should be no issues on the phone side.
