Hi,
I'm trying to flash CM11 nightly image for Xperia L (C2105) as there is no stable release.
I'm following the "How to Install Cyanogenmod on sony devices" guide on the CM wiki for Xperia L.
With the "install zip from sideload" method, I select the option on the device, and it prompts me to run "adb sideload cm-11-20140827-NIGHTLY-taoshan.zip"
But adb says there are no devices.
I tried the second method, "Push and Install method", mounting /storage/sdcard0 and running "adb push cm-11-20140827-NIGHTLY-taoshan.zip /storage/sdcard0" but again, adb says there are no devices.
If I put the device into fastboot, the fastboot tool does find the device. Just seems adb isn't finding the device.Currently the device can only boot up CWM tool (volume up on startup) or if I leave it to start, it just hangs at Sony logo.
I'm using Windows XP Home with adt-bundle-windows-x86-20140702 of Android SDK
Thanks again for replying, the help is much appreciated.
Cheers

Yes I tried to but 'new user/antispam' restrictions meant I can't post links until I have made several posts.
Use the search term "How to Install Cyanogenmod on sony devices" + "xperia L" , to google it appending xperia L.

Just download the ROM you want to install, reboot to recovery, plug the usb cable and type "adb push (rom name).zip /sdcard/" in a terminal/console window on your PC - without quotes. You need to have installed adb, if you don't have it already just search for an installation guide with Google.

Answer by Motorola Support:
"We regret that after unlocking the bootloader and subsequent modification of your terminal software warranty is voided.
Also, in your specific case, we could not guarantee that your phone can be repaired. If the PCB has been damaged, the cost of repair would exceed the value of the phone, and therefore it would be irreparable."
put a usb otg with the rom in it and flash so it will be fixed!

Just flash stock ROM via bootloader.
Get a rom flashable zip then you can "adb sideload" the file to recovery!
device not found

Well i tried to flash the rom in your way but it is showing an error message: device not found and when i tried to find my device through adb device command... it is showing zero devices attached... pls help and revert asap
You can also try flashing a stock ROM via mfastboot or fastboot commands.
I don't know if this will be any help but sometimes even though adb recognizes my device it says device not found/device offline.
I plug the phone in and type "fastboot reboot-bootloader" it reboots to bootloader and everything works from that point on.
bro,i my adb it shows *cannot read 'sideload'* then what should i command

I know this is an old question, but just to share my experience, me too coincidently deleted OS from TWRP. I tried using ADB, but it was not detecting the phone. Then I copied custom ROM (CM 12.1 in my case) to USB drive, connected it with my phone using USB OTG and flashed the ROM. It worked like a charm

If you are able to go to recovery(which you should be able to do), download any custom ROM of your choice like PA, CM, SLIM etc.. flash that rom by following the Installation instructions in the thread. YOu should be able to get the phone back to normal. And if you want the stock ROM, then download the stock files and flash it, you might loose custom recovery, then follow the same things you did to get TWRP in the first place.

I would if I could. The problem is I formatted the whole phone which included the internal storage too. My CM Rom is in the internal storage and it's already deleted. I tried to connect my phone to the pc so that I could transfer a rom into it but failed cause my pc won't recognized my phone as the media transfer devices. It's only recognized my phone as fastboot falcon s. I've installed Motorola Device Manger but it's also failed. I also tried to install using adb sideload but I got device not found error and my phone doesn't listed in the device attached after I typed 'adb devices'. For the OTG and memory card reader method I haven't try yet because I don't have any of it.

What does it say when you try
Code:
adb devices
or
when you reboot to bootloader with phone connected and type
Code:
fastboot devices
If it shows a device for fastboot devices then follow this to flash back to stock. Make sure you download the right stock firmware for your phone.

It seems like you dont have fastboot files. Follow the same link that i posted in the previous one. It has portable adb & fastboot files. Download that and then follow instructions. You should be able to get to fastboot. Once you are there the job is almost done. Hope it helps

I've followed all the instructions but my phone still not rebooting. When I try to reboot it, it only show me the warning of unlocked bootloader screen, black screen, warning of unlocked bootloader screen then dead android screen. What should I do now?
It means your phone is in fastboot mode and recognised by your PC. Next you'll have to "fastboot flash" the necessary files to install a recovery and a system, and you should be good to go.
Few weeks back I ****ed up soft bricked my phone had kindda same issue when I switch my phone on I get a dead android logo. Gave to the service center in India and got a replacement a new xt1033

The only thing that happen after the flashing is my phone only show the 'warning bootloader unlocked' and the dead android with red triangle screen. It won't boot into the stock rom that I've flashed. The stock rom/firmware that I used is correct. Please help me.. I really need to use my phone.

K there's a resolve for this...Provided that you haven't ****ed up your phone by making it hard bricked...
1 - Get a freaking rom and sideload it through TWRP to boot into system...
+ Download a ROM
+ Put it in the same folder as ADB and Fastboot and rename it to something easier that you can type exactly (ex: 1.zip, backup.zip...)
+ Shift + Right Click at a blank field in the window
+ Choose Open Command....
+ On TWRP, go to Advanced => Sideload => Tick the 2 boxes => Swipe to start sideloading
+ Type in adb sideload <yourzipname>.zip on the cmd (on your computer)
+ Wait for the process to finish, then you now have a working phone...
2 - Follow this guide using the proper firmwares that match your original one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219

Your PC will not recognize it as media transfer / storage while you are in bootloader / fastboot mode, its perfectly normal. When you type fastboot devices it should show you a number which means it working as intended. This is an old thread but it shows how to transfer your ROM to sdcard via adb push command. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667929

The output of the "fastboot devices" command clearly shows your phone is recognised by your PC. As I said all you need to do now is use the correct "fastboot flash" commands to restore recovery and system. Tutorials can be found in this forum.
Thank you.

Before trying backup ta cuz if it brick you can restore from backup or brick ta mean hard brick device that only sony can fix.
This trick worked on Xperia e1 so maby work on E3 also.
Does this method works on Xperia E3 D2206/D2243??
Does this method work with Xperia E3 D2206/D2243 ?? @vinay What do you think?
I am telling this because around a half month ago, I get rooted in my phone (D2206 model) using D2203 boot img file. Thanks for all
@lexiyuri I believe you can flash lollypop aosp and use this method to root it.
I wanna tell you that D2212 root method work on d2202 cause it supports it's kernel. Now sony released 4.4.4 on d2202 and I,ve flashed d2202 FTF on my D2212 and it is working like charm.
And an FTF contains
Boot
System
Fotakernel
Userdata
And may more.
But aosp only contains userdata.img system.img boot.img and I bet it will work.
Cause in FTF we need all partition,s compatible but in aosp just 3 and if you see cycle of phone boot you only need one compatible and it is boot which is already compatible.

After flashing the second image to get root, yes you have root, but no CWM recovery anymore . . . . . . . . .
So you can't flash the google apps zip to your phone.
@Moiremoi
a litte bit fast way, and save 1 flash:
[*]fastboot flash boot boot_D2203_4.4.2.img
[*]fastboot flash system system.img
[*]fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
reboot in recovery, install SuperSu from strorage
reboot on fastboot mode [*]fastboot flash boot boot.img
reboot

Camera Issues
I don't know if this tread is still active.
But ive followed the tutorial all the way through and really impresses with how straightforward it was.
However I cant see a camera app and when I install one (lets say google camera) it says "camera has stopped working!"
Any advice?

You can flash nothing in CM recovery you need a new recovery.
If you're on stock ROM use this method
Download this file HERE.
Extract the the file in your computer and open the cmd in the folder by pressing shift+LMB and write the code:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
important:connect your phone to the computer in fastboot holding the vol+ and connect it.
Now you can press entre you have now CWM recovery .
Boot to recovery and flash CM12 then make a factory reset and boot to system .
If you're using a Lollipop ROM use this method
Just install this app here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/development/app-recoveries-recovery-installer-t3187914
And give root then flash TWRP .
NOW you can install whatever you want:silly:

ok! but i cant understand "open the cmd in the folder by pressing shift+LMB"! i'm sorry. i'm a biginner! this question may seem so simple! but confusing for me
i can start cmd from the "run" in start button of win7. but it says, "fastboot" command seems meaningless!
I understand the mistake I made. booting started. and give this error:
FAILED <remote: command not allowed>
what is the problem?

Where did you get this error, while flashing?
Edit: if you have problems flashing via fastbooy there's easier method go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/orig-development/cwm-recovery-installer-t2589320
And download the recovery installer on your computer and install CWM on your phone then you can flash CM12
Important make sure that your bootloader is unlocked

thanks so much. that worked.
after unlocking the bootloader, I used flashtool and flash in fastboot mode, without any error. but when phone rebooted went to cyanogenmod recovery menu! I choose to update via sd! and all thing were going OK. unfortunately, it failed! the error said that "this update is for c2105, c2104, taoshan, but your phone is." It seems it cant recognize my phone is c2105!
why this error ocured, and what should I do!
again thanks for your good solutions.

How to (root BLU Advance 5.0 HD)

Hi all
I'm looking to learn how to root a BLU Advance 5.0 HD phone (Marshmallow Android 6.0)
I'm newbie...
I already found a a blutwrp.img on https://bluroms.info/ website but this is the only thing I'm sure I have to use it.
About ADB I found the genuine google package (platform-tools-latest-windows) and the SR4-SuperSU-v2.78-SR4-20161115184928 package too.
I don't know if all this part are good for my phone...
Thanks for help...
I'm also looking for a root. I tried a few suggestions like Kingoroot but nothing has worked.
marshmallow
there is no automatic root for Marshmallow this is why I posted this thread ...

Yes you have to use the twrp recovery. Have you even flashed it? Using adb when the device is on, (make sure to enable usb debugging in settings and authorize your computer) run adb reboot bootloader and then make sure that fastboot recognizes your device and run fastboot oem unlock to unlock your bootloader. Unlocking your bootloader this way is the easiest and doesn't work all times. If it successfully unlocked your bootloader, just do fastboot flash recovery <recovery.img location> and then reboot into system and run adb reboot recovery, from there you can push the su zip or just adb sideload it. To push you do adb push <location to supersu.zip> /sdcard and then go to install and find the zip and flash it, to sideload it, go to advanced and hit sideload and type adb sideload <location to supersu zip>
If I helped, hit thanks Hope it works!
@RAZERZDAHACKER Thanks for help !
I would like to have more info about blutwrp.img and the SR4-SuperSU-v2.78-SR4-20161115184928 package too. I'm not sure this is the two files I have to use with my BLU Advance 5.0 HD...
Thanks

What's the codename for that device? Open up an adb shell, and report whatever comes before the $ sign
Hi
Thanks for help
There is many info here
please look at the file attached
I am strongly doubting that came before the $ sign. The attached file says [email protected] in the shell, indicating the codename to be ducati
its not rooted device
what is the command line to see the codename ?
In build.prop I can see :
ro.build.version codename = REL
ro.product.device=BLU_ADVANCE_5.0_HD
when I open a terminal I see:
[email protected]_ADVANCE_5.0_HD:/$
this is what you want ? So the codename is BLU_ADVANCE_5.0_HD
thanks
You don't even need to do anything or have root access, just open a terminal window and see what text is there, don't you're anything
[email protected]_ADVANCE_5.0_HD:/
this is what I see when I open a terminal windows

Huh, no offense to the creators but that is a pretty dumb name, anyway, you have fastboot and adb access right? I will try and have a check at the twrp image and see if I can verify that it is for the correct device and if you don't know how to flash it, a guide on that as well
---------- Post added at 09:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:26 PM ----------
Update: The website seems genuine. Using an mtk flashing tool you can flash this file (youtube guide) and then using the supersu zip you've downloaded, use the methods I mentioned in my first post.
Good luck!
Yes its the device name. Thanks for your help I appreciate. The root process is often described on many website but there seems to be a doubt about a possible boot loop problem depending on the command executed... so I will follow your guide for sure.
I do not really understand.. You say I have to use MTK Flashing Tool+ADB + TWRP + SuperSU ... ?? I need two more university years ...

Should work with just using the mtk flashing tool to flash twrp then flash SuperSU. If it says something about bootloader being locked, just boot I to fastboot via adb and do fastboot oem unloc.

hey thank you so much for help I appreciate ! I understand that if i use adb to unlock the bootloader this will erase all my data right ? but if I use mtk flashing tool I get a chance to do a clean root to save my data right ?

It's fastboot to unlock bootloader, and I believe you're correct. Though, always make backups.
I managed to flash the blutwrp.img file but it put me into a boot loop. It would boot into Twrp, scroll information about being unable to mount anything and just boot loop.
same for me
