Updated to twrp 2.8.0, flashed through flashify, opened up to twrp, great, i thought, did a backup while i was there, backup finished, i hit reboot and i get No OS installed!! are you sure you want to reboot. i go back to home screen, hit restore, i can see the new and two previous backup, doesnt matter which on i pick to restore, i get restore failed!! I am at a lose, I have never in countered this and dont know what to do. Thanking you in advance for any help or directions. HTC M8, stock rom 4.2.2
well hopefully you still have a rom downloaded somewhere to install. If not you can load a rom to your sd card and install through twrp from sd card.

I was flashing CM 7 nightly 49 and now my phone is stuck on the LG logo, how do I fix?

After going through the NV flash process and getting to the last step that says
Keep holding them, as soon as you see "ANDROID" in Green with the new boot logo let go of the buttons.
From there it goes into boot recovery. I then choose from one of the roms I have on my SD card, it loads okay but then when I try to reboot it hangs up on the LG logo again
What am I doing wrong
we def need more info then that like what recovery how did u install the rom did u wipe data then cache then dalvik? then install rom and gapps? did u install any kernels previously? and this is probably going to get moved it should be in general
ok when u go into recovery do u wipe data factory reset, then cache, then go to advanced and wipe dalvik then install rom and gapps and it should boot up fine, did u make a backup of ur stock rom first?

Damn. for one month on XDA you sure do have a lot of posts
On topic: I'm assuming you forgot to fully wipe before flashing the new rom.
If you can get into recovery, it's not bricked.
Read the install directions, you missed a step or got a bad download.. Or a bad build, as they are nightlys...
In recovery, do factory reset, then mounts and storage, select format system. Then install the rom.
Also, get the stock nandroid and put it on your card so you can drop to a known good setup.
I had back it up using rom manager but its on another computer. I took had gotten a SD card with more storage and never transferred it.

You could copy the backup from your computer and make a folder called clockworkmod/backup/ on your new SD and put the backup file in that folder. When you go into recovery, backup and restore. restore - it should be visible. Select it and you should be OK - IF your backup is good.
If not, download a ROM and Gapps with your computer and put them in the root of your SD. Then after a full wipe, flash them.
If you have the latest Recovery, you can mount storage and then cut and past to your device while connected. If not, or if you have any problems moving them, just take it out and do it while it is plugged in your computer.
You have several options - so one of them will work.
Want to thank all you guys. I got it working again.

Ok, I just want to cover all my bases and make sure everything is set for me.
I rooted my ATRIX, installed ROM manager pro and Titanium backup pro, backed up my apps and data with Titanium, and flashed clockworkmod with rom manager.
I have the Alien rom and the alien theme downloaded and put on my sdcard.
From what I understand I just click install rom in rom manager and it should all be good correct?
Thanks for any advice! I just want to make sure I'm doing everything correctly.
Jup thats one way to do it. And it is a good method!
So go ahead and flash it if you already haven't done it
Sounds good to me.
should would fine long as your phone likes cwm, i had a lil issues with it myself but i'm running a new rezound that doesn't have the best support with it yet, i switched to amon ra recovery as it seemed to have a lil more to offer and didn't give me a issue with the scripts some roms use, long as that phone is well supported by cwm you should be fine tho
Or you can just boot intoo clockworkmod recovery and select "install zip from sdcard" and point to the zipfile of the new rom. A wipe is usually necessary and also doable from the recovery.

Well, almost. You also need to unlock the bootloader before you can flash a ROM. You mentioned that you backed up your data using Titanium Backup, which is fine, but you should also create a backup in recovery. That way, if something goes wrong and you end up with a phone that won't get past the boot logo, you can simply boot into recovery and restore your phone to exactly how it was before. Just make sure you have at least 2GB of free space on your sd card so that it can perform a full backup. To perform a backup, turn off your phone, then right as you're turning it on again, hold the volume down button until "fastboot" shows up. Then press the down volume button until you see "Android Recovery." Now press up to enter recovery. From there, navigate to backup. I realize that this isn't necessary, but I soft-bricked my phone the first time I tried to flash a rom, and if I had done a proper backup, it would have saved me a lot of grief.
Hope this helped!
I would also make a Nandroid backup of the current system just in case. Nandroid backups never failed on me when needed. I do believe it is a good "go to" option if a restore backup is needed.
Just my two cents
In first place, i have a InsertCoin ROM, concretely "Insert Coin Sense 2.3.5 Sense 3.5 v3.4.6".
Now, when i want to install the new ICS vesion of InsertCoin, i read on thread that i need to update the firm, with this (mediafire.com/?utpdjggalstxz)
I just installed it, and now, my HTC restart again and again. I have tried to go into the bootloader by pressing VOLUP+POWER but it isnt work.
Please, i need help.
edit: i have downloaded the firm from the htc, and i have moved it with "ES explorer"... (the zip could be corrupt, but now what can i do?)
[Please forgive me if I have any gramatical error, im spanish. THK]
try taking battery out and put it back in.

Yes, i tried that, but nothing...
How did you try to flash that PG58IMG? It has to be a Zip file and has to be flashed via Hboot. Just put it on your sd card, turn your phone off and start it again by pressing vol. down and power. Confirm, reboot to recovery, flash rom, be happy.
[I would do a fullwipe and format sd card before flashing ICS, that does magic to me. After formating sd card, toggle to usb storage and put your rom on sd card]
Your phone is probably bootlooping because the new 3.24 firmware is not compatible with the rom you have on your phone.
You need to get the new IC 4.4.3 rom onto your phone, boot into recovery and install it. Then you'll be fine.

Yes, that is that i have done. The only thing that i didnt know is that the firm installation delete my rom. Now i need to install a new rom.
But i would like to know something before, could i to reinstall my old rom without doing any wipe? I would like to do some backups of some apps data before wipe all. Is this possible?

You have to flash the old Hboot, 1.17 or 3.12 i think. But the new ICS works only with 3.24
But you shoudn't restore anything, brings only new problems... make a full wipe and format everything before flashing, even sd card

Since I'm too new to post in the Development section and didn't want to start a new thread, I'll ask here..
I'm running ICS 4.4.2. The latest version 4.4.3 just got released. Do I need to do a full wipe to upgrade?
and also, If I was to upgrade to 4.4.3, should I select "upgrade from zip" or "install from zip"?
1) Full wipe is not necessary. I would clear the cache, though.
2) Install from zip
A few days ago I was in the process of changing roms. I was using clean rom 4.5 beta. During the process I accidentally hit Factory Reset on the bootloader menu. I then proceeded to change roms but all of my sdcard data was erased and I cannot mount the sdcard at this time to put a new rom on there. I tried RUU (currently running 1.85, tried updating to 2.20) to no avail because I always get stuck at the sending screen for hours. I've emailed a few devs already who could'nt help, I also busted my ass searching forums and googling crap :crying: Any ideas ?
Do you have a recovery installed? Clockworkmod has been known to have some issues with the onex. I would recommend flashing TWRP in bootloader.
It may say in TWRP that you cannot select the sd for mounting. However if you check your PC, should still show up and may also ask for you to fomat the drive. Its ok to format fat32 since you've allready wiped. If your running linux or Mac. I'm affraid I'm no help at all.

You will in affect be formatting the sd card. At first its a little scary cause your affraid that you'll loose your recovery. I went through a similar issue.
format the SD then copy and paste your ROM or custom ROM to SD. Then flash away to your hearts desire. :highfive:
HIt the Thanks button if I helped.
Running with HOX CM10.

I was able to format and put a rom on the sdcard :highfive: but its failing to install because I cannot mount the cache.
Sorry Just got home from work noticed your update. looks like your back east? Maybe too late for you. Any who, once you put your rom on the SD card then go to install, Under the TWRP file you should find the ROM.

I have to ask but have you mounted the sdcard and checked on a PC if the file is there to verify? If you have/do and it's not there then as you have rebooted trying to recover files will be very hard to do and even then to get it back clean would be a mini miracle.

I had a similar issue. In case the SD card gets locked while getting a ROM to work, how will i access my backup? Is there no way to force mount the sd card partition using adb somehow?
