[Q] Nexus 5 - Madhi Rom - Soundabout problem - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello together,
I am new here, my name ist Michael and come from germany so I hope you can understand my problem/question.
I have a Nexus5, rooted and tried some diffrent custom roms. I found that mahdi works as the best. Fast, good styles and menues etc.
But I have a problem with bluetooth audio. I use soundabout-TTS app which allows to route the sound e.g. from navigation to the cars handsfree system.
With the stock-rom and cm11 it works as epected, with other roms (e.g. PA, SlimCat, and more) I have BT connection probs with my car (Ford Sync Gen1 -Sony). At least I had to reset my car audio system to work normaly
With mahdi I have two other major problems.
1. the first 3 or 4 seconds of the text is missing ...
Normal text to hear ..... Thank you for using soundabout.
With mahdi-rom............ ------------------------------------bout
2. the car shows me an incoming call ... thats good
i hear the text cuted voice from N5
BUT the call did not stop, the cars handsfree still hold the call and did not go back to e.g radio or disk.
Is there anything to adjust audio-buffer or aomething like this?
I like mahdi-rom but with this issue I cannot use it.
Michael

[Q] Google Navigation Over Bluetooth Car Kit

Trying to to get Google Navigation voice instructions to come through my bluetooth car kit but no joy - Phone is paired with the kit and phone calls come through the kit great ..... Am I missing a setting somewhere in the Car Panel settings I have car kit options as follows: Aito Connect ON and the car kit is selcted as the deault device ...
won't work if the car radio offers just the headset protocol. a2pd must be supported too soll all sounds from the droid will be relayed, like to normal headphones.
Thanks, how can I check if the car kit supports a2pd ??
Ok just checked a bit more about the car kit, it's supposed to sream stereo music so I'm assuming that means it supports A2PD ??
it should. when you connected, go to the bluetooth settings, find the car radio, long tap on it and look in the options if there are 2 checkmarks. 1 is for using as headset, second for media. make sure both are checked, that should do it.
Hello, you should need to put your car kit into audio stream mode... I've got Pioneer radio with BT and when I want to listen music from phone through BT I have to change the source on the radio to BT media stream, otherwise I won't hear the sound. If call is coming radio switch to phone call mode automatically.
thanks got it working, there is a button on the CDPlayer/Bluetooth Unit to switch to A2DP, the moral is always read the manual properly !
i guess i have a reason to continue within this thread:
i don't get the directions vom google navigation too. but, and that's the difference, it work's great with music - which i use all the time - und other apps like sygic. only the google navigation causes trouble.
to be more precise: the directions ARE played, but at such a low volume i can't really hear anything. all the volume-sliders are up to max, but that doesn't show any effect.
so i guess for some reason there's more of a software-issue in my case, since all this worked flawlessly on my former moto milestone.
i do remember it worked in the beginning. maybe rooting the device (and s-off via xtc-clip) started all that, but since i don't use it that often i can't really tell if that's really the case.
so, any ideas?

You'll need to increase media playback volume when you hear the voice prompt. Just press + volume button on the side and bring it to desired level.
I also have some issues with my Parrot 9100 kit. Beginning of the words are cut-off and then you can hear the announcement. I had the same problem with my Desire (not a Desire S) and I solved the problem by installing custom Ginger Villain Rom.
Now I have the same problem with the Desire S.
I guess there must be something with the HTC radio or Sense.
@aenis
thanks for your reply... but since i'm experienced in using g-navi i have already thougt of that, and media (and navi-) volume is, as i've said before, up to max...

[Q] Problem with CM11 and Bluetooth Headset

Ok, here's my problem:
I have Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T311 and headset Plantronics Voyager HD.
With stock rom, I have no problem with working them together.
I've problem with CM 10.2/11 (Next kernel 0.6) - when i connect them together and try to call, I only can hear some crackles, sometimes noise - nobody hear me - i can't hear anybody.
I was looking for advice also in Google, but nothing specialy intresting was found.
So, have you met with problem like this? any advice where to start looking for - it's quite annoying to use TouchWiz instead of CM

[Q] Bluetooth issue with Sense

When using Stock rom or any other Sense based rom when auto connecting to car radio I get no audio.
The phone and radio will both show connected, and audio tracks show playing but no sound. Sometimes, and only sometimes a bluetooth toggle in settings will fix the issue. Other times when i toggle it looses the connection period.
Ive reset my radio and phone but nothing helps. The kicker is when using GPE or an AOSP rom the connect and auto play every single time.
I like Sense and really want to use it...any one else see similar issue?
Are you using the HTC stock "Music" app? Basic question, but can you confirm the volume level of the Bluetooth output is high enough (audio volume is handled differently than Handsfree volume)?

ViperOneM8 4.3.0 (Android: 5.0.1, HTC Sense: 6.0) Bluetooth Issues

Ever since I upgraded to the new ViperOneM8 4.3.0 ROM I have been experiencing bluetooth issues every now and again. For example, I typically have my Moto360 watch and my Plantronics earpiece connected. In the middle of a call it will do weird things like spudder some crazy noises really fast for about 10 seconds then disconnect, or just plan disconnect. When it does disconnect, my phone still thinks the earpiece is connected and does NOT switch back to phone headset (like it used to). Then if I wait another 10-30 seconds it will reconnect and pick up the call on my earpiece again.
Anyone else having bluetooth issues on this ROM? It's a brand new install with nothing other than the basic google apps (and a few remote apps like LogMeIn, TeamViewer, and RD Client).

Mods should probably move this to the Q&A forum.
In general, I had weird bluetooth issues with audio. After flashing HK BS switcher INCLUDING the ADSP, all my issues went away. You need to be S-OFF, if you're not, don't even bother.
You want version 4.3.1 of this mod, considering you're running Lollipop.
Choose the Verizon install, not the ViperOne or anything else (even though you have Viper rom)
It's your choice what sound system you want. HK or Boomsound. I chose HK but that's just me.
I'd make a nandroid and give it a shot. Not sure if it's going to work, but can't hurt, especially if you make a nandroid.

Strange Bluetooth issue

Hi you all, I have a non common bluetooth problem. My S6 is running Xtrestolite with android 6.0. My phone can connect BT to my cars, my earset and my soundbar to play music and it work well even on my earset. BUT, nothing for voice call, the call connect and silence for everyone. There is no voice at all, but BT is connected, and all infos on my cars radio like timer, mute and others work well ( okay mute cannot be more muted ). So I tried 1/8 headset for music it works, did not try yet one with a mic, but I'll do it ASAP. I tried to reprogram with odin default OS, with factory settings, and that way force all components to be re-write ( Bootloader, Radio , etc ), issue still present !!! Try to clean micro usb connector, nothing !! Try to clean audio jack, but wasn't really sure if it was well cleaned.
Do anybody here have an idea of what I could try, test or do to eliminates possibilities ??
I am thinking that maybe some corosion could be in the audiojack, somewhere and let the phone think that there is an audio jack connected, and then sent the voice to it...but how it could be tested before to try to open the phone to clean it properly and risk to damaged the LCD ???
Thank a lot for all of your advices
