[Q][A510] Does not respond, bricked possibly? - Acer Iconia A700 and A510

I have been using cyanogen mod 10.2 for some time without problems in my tablet until last saturday. That day i was watching some movie on my tablet and it froze. I restarted it but it stopped at boot screen. At that time i was able to enter cwm recovery by pressing power&volume -. After some reboots, i had lost it completely. Now tablet doesn't respond to anything; power button, power&volume-, power&volume+, restart switch, etc. Also for some time (a year possibly) -due to some physical problem at the usb port i suppose- i have not been able to connect tablet to my pc or connect a usb memory stick to the tablet via a otg cable (i could do it before). So the tablet doesn't respond either when i connect it to pc, nor my pc recognises it. I can charge it though, so i got that going for me which is nice Any recommendation will be very appreciated.

Hi there, your issue sounds very similar to mine. I have/had an A701 and was using CM 11 on it for about a year. Sometimes it would freeze or turn off by itself and one day it stopped responding at all. I could charge it, but exactly as you said, nothing else worked. After getting my hands on a second a701 I tried switching batteries and stuff and came to conclusion, that mainboard/cpu is dead. I have a strange feeling that Cyanogen Mod has something to do with it.. Sorry, couldnt really help you, but I hope it gives you at least some closure.

[Q] Transformer Dead?

Hi, a few days ago I bought the tablet, and the keyboard dock station.
Yesterday, I had it on stand by (or sleep mode, don´t know the difference) with the keyboard and then I wanted to use it but it seems dead. I charged it all the night, but it doesn´t starts.
It doesn´t show the asus´s logo.
I'm desperate.
Thanks in advance, Nico.
Same problem here
I ran into the same problem about a week and a half ago. Was using it a bunch with the keyboard and then I couldn't turn it on again. I was able to get it to come when it was off the keyboard by plugging in the power cable. However, when it was on I couldn't get the shut down dialog to come up, holding the power button in would only cause the screen to black out.
I e-mailed ASUS and they suggested I reset it back to factory. Still had the problem. It is currently in repair status at their RMA facility.
My first guess was that it was software related, since other android devices seem to have similar problems, for time to time. However, on a couple of occasions if I pressed the power button in a certain way the unit would turn on or I could get the shut down dialog to show up. I could never get the button to work consistantly, so I sent it in.
For folks who are interested: The tablet was non-rooted or ROM'd. Had 3.1 and the keyboard was running the software update that came with 3.1. The tablet was 40 series based on the serial number. It had been working fine for about a month.
Henry
I've seen this lots on Tegra devices.
Solution: NVFlash another custom recovery.
This even happened to me. During a bad flash that locked up, I pulled the battery and it wouldn't even power on. Nothing. No Bootlogo or anything.
NVFlash mode would still register the device when connected. So I NVFlashed between Stock and Clockwork Mod back and forth (this on my LG G2x)... trying to boot it up in between flashes...
Eventually it booted up and I was able to get into Recovery, where I did a factory reset and flashed a known good rom. All has been well since.
How can I reset it?
I have to try the most possible things to repair it, becouse it isn´t simple to me to send it to RMA, becouse I´m from Uruguay.
I can to power it on! The battery looks in 81%.
What you recommend to do now? Quickly please!,
I do not know how long you'll be able to take on.
How can i reboot it or dont know?
Android Version 3.01
*Edit: Just actualized to 3.1
Hold the power button for 15 seconds until the screen goes off then power it up normally and see if it'll come on. I was thinking maybe it's the Sleep of death bug...

[Q] Craig CMP745E unresponsive

I got a Craig cmp745E......it seemed like a decent little tablet, I installed Crackle and and started a movie.....the screen is now hundreds (maybe thousands) of dancing colors and the tablet is unresponsive. So far I've tried the back button, holding power button down, the reset hole in the back and plugged it via usb to my windows 7 laptop (it didn't notice anything was plugged in).
Unless I can gain some insight here the only thing left I can think of is to let the battery die then hope I can plug the thing in it it will work.
So i have two questions......is there anything else i could possibly do to restart the thing?
Is it possible that installing and app like crackle and attempting to watch a movie bricked the thing?
While i have years of experience in PC support, I never ever ran into a case where installing an app an trying to use it totally destroyed a device.
The thing rebooted fine after the battery die,,,,,,,,,,whew!

The reset button on the back just makes it power cycle. Next time just push it with a paper clip.
If you happen to make a back up of it before you change roms or something could you send a copy of it to me? The rom from the Craig official website screwed mine up big time.

[Q] TF300t does not boot

Hi guys I have had my TF300 for about 9 months now, and it has been working well until a few days ago.
Right now, I can't get the tablet to boot up at all, apart from some minor things, there is no sign of life.
After looking around I have tried several solutions with no luck.
I have tried holding the power button for about 2 minutes.
Cold boot (holding both vol down and power for about 20 seconds)
Charging via the regular charger
Charging via a regular USB charger (for around 10 hours)
Charging via a computer
The few lifesigns I have seen from the tab is that the battery indicator on the sleep button, as well as the fact that windows detects the tablet when I connect it. When I connected it the first time after the crash, windows tried to install drivers for it but failed, now I only get the "device disconnection sound" and some other sound that I have never heard before about 20 seconds after I plug it in.
So, what could be the cause of this. A few days ago, I brought my tablet to school because I needed it for programming. My teacher wanted to take a look at it but failed to put it in the dock properly. It fell from about 10 cm which shouldn't cause any problems. However when we tried to use it with the dock, something was wrong. The tablet didn't detect the dock until we restarted it. So everything was fine.
The next day, I had the tablet in my bag, and my friend (not knowing about it being in there) droped my bag from about 20 cm. Again nothing that should be a problem. However, when I went to turn on the tablet a few hours later, it didn't start at all.
So, should droping it from 20cm realy make the tablet break?
Also, im running the latest official android version from ASUS. If any of you have any idea what may be wrong or how to solve it, I would be grateful.
Sounds like a loss of connection inside. The jolts prolly rattled something loose. If you feel comfortable, take it apart and take a synopsis.

Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 reboot loop

Hi everyone on XDA.
I have a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (WiFi + GSM) with 2 main problems:
Broken LCD and Digitizer
It is in a loop of reboots
I had this tablet from a friend of mine, who smashed it on the floor.
At the beginning I was pretty sure that the problem was only the LCD, but when I connected it to the wall, I found out that it does not turn on.
At this point I was a bit scared, because I couldn't do anything without seeing nothing on the LCD and with a dead tablet.
So I decided to see if at least it turns on plugging it to my PC. Then I started hearing an infinite loop of the USB Windows sound every 2 secs. It doesn't stop until I unplug the USB cable from the tablet.
Since I've seen something like this googling around the web, I started thinking that The Tab 2 was only in a bootloop. I found a method that helps on exiting from this loop:
- Unplug the tablet
- Hold in the power button for one minute
- At the 30-second mark, plug the tablet into the wall and continue holding the power button until you reach the 1-minute mark.
- Then, it began charging normally.
I tried this method, but although I repeated it for 3/4 times, it didn't work for me. I can say this because it still make the Windows sound loop.
I forgot to say that when Windows makes the plug-in sound, in the "Device Management" section there's an unknown device, called OMAP4430; then, when Windows make the plug-off sound, it disappears, and so on.
I cleaned the USB port of the Tablet to make sure that the dust doesn't prevent the charge process.
I also tried to access to the device through the adb, but nothing.
Excuse me for my english.
Regards,
Roberto.

Nexus 5 Charging issue (in a weird way)

so i have had a nexus 5 for about a year now, my brother had it from launch, one day it bricked and my brother bought a iphone, so, ofcourse i reflashed the rom, and it worked again, but with weird buggs and quirks, now suddenly it didnt want to charge, so i have decided to factory reset, and ive also replaced the battery (i had one laying around and hadnt come around to puttin it in)
so, heres the issue:
when the device is off, and you plug in the usb cable, it recognizes it, and starts the charging animation, then this animation crashes and it restarts, it does this, over and over again..
when i go to fastboot mode, and i plugg in the usb, my laptop (and pc) recognizes it, and then gives an error, just so it can start the cycle over again, and i cant get adb working like this...
any help?
Which ROM did you flash?
Edit: Oh, and how did you flash it?
