I purchased a Note 3 N9005. In the network mode, when I select WCDMA/GSM Autoconnect, the mobile goes without network. However, on selecting GSM only, it works. On WCDMA/GSM Autoconnect, I am not even able to make or receive calls. Please help me solve this issue
I would suggest posting your question in the Galaxy Note 3 forum ( first link below ). The members there will better be able to assist you. You can also check out the other two links that a quick search came up with. It seems to be similar to the situation you are describing.

GSM works but switching to WCDMA causes problems

Hi Folks ,
the S Duos has two SIM-Cards and both work with WCDMA but not at one time. At one time only one of the SIM-Cards can be in a 3G net and the other could only do GSM.
Does anybody knows if this behavior is a hardware or software issue. My Galaxy is rooted, so software issue should be resolvable.
The background is: I want to have a dual SIM Phone for Japan. Japan only supports 3G - no GSM. So my hope is that the Galaxy S Duos could work with both SIM-Cards in 3G.
Best regards and Thanx

Hello,
I have the Samsung galaxy S3 compatible with the 4G (model is i9305) network. I am in an area (Switzerland) covered by the 4G. But it seems that the phone is always connected to the 3G. No 4G icon on the notification bar.
Have you an idea of the problem ?
Thanks for your help.
You'd need to make sure you have Correct Access Point Names (APN) set for the carrier you have. Also need to turn on LTE through settings.
Please post in [HELP THREAD] Galaxy S3 Ask any question. so that one of the experts may be of help.
My question is how to identify the 2G, 3G and 4G networks discovered on selecting network Operator Manually in samsung Galaxy S series (S4 in my case) ..
I have used other android handset and it was showing all networks with indication of 2G or 3G beside it ..
but when using S4 i can see the names only with no sign and no repeat ..
Mod : please move this thread to S4 Q&A forum

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
Sometimes it's a situation of the network frequencies of the phone not meeting the requirements of the provider (in this case, Vodafone). But everything seems to match in my research. I did also find out that SIM2 is 2G only (generally - I say that because there is a YouTube video that claims to have found a way around that) . But if your problem is with SIM1, that's another story.
Please create an account, so you can post in other forums, From there, can post your problem in the [HELP THREAD][NOOB FRIENDLY] Ask Any Questions thread (or at least) in the > Xiaomi Redmi 1S > Redmi 1S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum. Your device experts can be found there.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
Galaxy S5 Duos-SM-G900FD---Rooted device
I'm not able to use both the SIMS for making phone calls.
If SIM-1 is on WCDMA / GSM and SIM-2 on GSM mode, only by SIM-1--- I'm able to make and receive phone calls.
If I make Or receive call using SIM-2, there is no sound.
On the Other hand,
SIM-1 on GSM mode and SIM-2 on WCDMA / GSM mode, only by using SIM-2---I'm able to make and receive phone calls.
If I make Or receive call using SIM-1, there is no sound.
I'm struggling to find out the solution, as I'm only a beginner.
Kindly help / suggest me with solutions, so that I can use both SIMS for making calls.
Thanks in advance.
