Hello,
I have the Samsung galaxy S3 compatible with the 4G (model is i9305) network. I am in an area (Switzerland) covered by the 4G. But it seems that the phone is always connected to the 3G. No 4G icon on the notification bar.
Have you an idea of the problem ?
Thanks for your help.
You'd need to make sure you have Correct Access Point Names (APN) set for the carrier you have. Also need to turn on LTE through settings.
Please post in [HELP THREAD] Galaxy S3 Ask any question. so that one of the experts may be of help.

My question is how to identify the 2G, 3G and 4G networks discovered on selecting network Operator Manually in samsung Galaxy S series (S4 in my case) ..
I have used other android handset and it was showing all networks with indication of 2G or 3G beside it ..
but when using S4 i can see the names only with no sign and no repeat ..
Mod : please move this thread to S4 Q&A forum

Hi,
Sounds to me like your just in poor service coverage areas and losing signal. Might not be much you can do about that really. But you can ask about it in this dedicated help thread in your device section,
> AT&T, Canadian Bell, Rogers, Telus, Virgin Samsung Galaxy S 4 > AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > Stupid Questions Thread - No question too stupid!
Good luck!

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
The 920i is the international model, and thus misses Band 4 (1700mHz) which is used by the USA GSM operators (AT&T, T-Mo, MetroPCS, et cetera). This means you won't get 4G LTE with this device.
Also, if trying with T-Mobile, they alos use 1700mHz for HSPA (3G), a frequency your device does not have either. So unless T-Mo still supports 2G (I remember a planned phasing of that out at some point), your device will not work with their network.
AT&T on the other hand, uses 3G 850/1900 frequencies, so you should be okay.
At any rate, I could be optimistically wrong. So, please create an account, so you cna post in other forums, then either post in the above linked thread, or in the S6 general help thread:

Hope this helps, and good luck!
