How can i remove cwm recovery.
Or revert back to stock recovery
Hi, I want to know whether following standard steps can be followed with this recovery when you want to flash new ROM
1) Go To CMW Recovery
2) Wipe Data/Factory Reset And Wipe Partition
3) From Advance Menu Do Dalvik Catch Clear
4) From Advance Menu Do Battery State Clear
5) Go in Mount And Storage select FORMAT SYSTEM
6) Select Install From SD and Select File And Click YES
However, Aftabloney's thread is showing only following steps.
Reboot into recovery by pressing vol up + power on simultaneously
** Select data/factory reset
** Now select Install zip from SDcard > Choose Zip from Sdcard > Killer_DroidV3.0 beta.zip
Is there any further advantage in terms of speed and smooth operation of device if we follow steps 1 to 6 as outlined above? Or while flashing Aftab's Killer droid ROM, I should follow his instructions only. By far now I have flashed killer droid ver 2 and later ver 3 ROMs by aftab's method and it is working. However pls tell me if there is any other advantage in following steps 1 to 6. Does the CWM recovery supports these steps?
Thanks in advance.
You must create a NVRAM backup before flashing custom ROMs. Flashing a wrong recovery can also give invalid IMEI error. If your phone doesn't connect to network or wifi then you have to restore the NVRAM backup.
You need:
1. MTKDroidTools
2. Rooted Android Phone
To create NVRAM backup follow these steps:
Step 1:
In your phone go to Settings -> Developer Options and select USB debugging. If there is no Developer Options in Settings then go to About phone and tap Build number 7 times to enable Developer Options.
Step 2:
Open MTKdroidTools and connect your phone via USB cable.
Step 3:
In MTKdroidTools click ROOT and grant root permission in phone.
Step 4:
Click IMEI/NVRAM.
Step 5:
Click Backup.
You can find your backup files in the MtkDroidTools\BackupNVRAM folder.
Done.

Making a Nandroid Backup
Step 1: Make sure at least 3-4 GB space is free in external sd card. The backup size can be 2 GB, 3 GB or even more depending on installed apps and data size.
Step 2: Reboot to recovery (Switch off phone. Press vol up + vol down + power button to reboot to recovery).
Step 3: Press vol down to select backup and restore then press power button.
Step 4: Select backup then press power button.
Step 5: Wait for backup to complete. If shows error while backing up data then reboot phone and delete unsuccessful backup from clockworkmod folder and delete some more files to free space in sd card. Repeat from step 1.
Step 6: You'll see Backup Complete! after successful backup. Now you can use this backup to restore system if you face any error in future like bootloop or soft brick. You can also use this nandroid backup to revert back from new ROM. The backup is stored in clockworkmod folder in external SD card.
Warning: Never try to edit nandroid backup files. Keep nandroid backup in SD card as it is. Tips: Don't forget to delete old nandroid backup after taking new backup. You can also keep two or more nandroid backups for safety.
