How to create Readback Backup for Micromax Unite 2?

You must create a Readback backup of stock ROM before flashing any custom ROM or Recovery. If anything goes wrong and your phone doesn't boot then you can flash the stock ROM through the Readback backup.
You need:
1. Drivers
2. SP Flash Tool
3. Scatter file
4. MTKDroidTools
5. Micromax Unite 2
To create Readback backup follow these steps:
Step 1:
Open SP Flash Tool, load the scatter file and click the Readback tab.
Step 2:
Click "Add" then double click in the File column of the added entry.
Step 3:
Select save location and click "Save".
Step 4:
Write 0x3E180000 in "Length" and click "OK".
Step 5:
Turn off your phone, remove battery for few seconds then insert battery (don't switch on).
Step 6:
Click "Read Back" and connect your phone via USB cable.
Step 7:
After successful Read Back remove USB cable and switch on your phone.
Step 8:
Open MTKdroidTools and connect your phone via USB cable. If MTKdroidTools doesn't detect your phone then in your phone go to "Settings -> Developer Options" and select "USB debugging". If there is no Developer Options in Settings then go to "About phone" and tap "Build number" 7 times to enable Developer Options.
Step 9:
In MTKdroidTools click "root, backup, recovery" tab.
Step 10:
Click "To process file ROM_from Flash Tool".
Step 11:
Select the Readback file.
Step 12:
Click "No"
Step 13:
Click "Cancel"
Step 14:
Wait for the task to complete.
You can find your backup files in the "MtkDroidTools/backups" folder
Done.

How to root Micromax Unite 2 (A106)?

Please check -> Proper Root Unite 2 without PC
You need:
1. Drivers
2. SP Flash Tool
3. SuperSU.zip
3. Scatter file
4. Recovery
5. Micromax Unite 2
Make Backups before flashing:
1. Readback backup
2. NVRAM backup
To root your phone follow these steps:
Step 1:
Copy downloaded SuperSU.zip to External SD card.
Step 2:
Open SP Flash Tool and load the scatter file.
Step 3:
Click in the location column of RECOVERY and select the downloaded recovery file.
Step 4:
Switch off your phone and remove the battery.
Step 5:
Click Download in SP Flash Tool.
Step 6:
Insert battery and connect your phone via USB cable (Don't switch on).
Step 7:
After successful flashing of recovery press vol+, vol- and power on buttons to reboot to recovery.
NOTE:
In CTR recovery:
Swipe left to go backward
Swipe right to go forward
Step 8:
To Install SuperSU:
Tap Install zip
Tap Choose zip Sd card
Swipe right and select SuperSU file
Step 9:
Swipe left to go backward and select Reboot the Phone.
Tap Reboot the Phone

How to create Recovery Backup?

Recovery backup is needed to restore your entire phone (system, apps and data).
You need:
1. Phone.
2. Recovery.
To create recovery backup follow these steps:
Step 1:
Power off your phone.
Step 2:
Press vol+, vol- and power on buttons to reboot to recovery.
NOTE:
In CTR recovery:
Swipe left to go backward
Swipe right to go forward
Step 3:
Tap Backup and Restore.
Step 4:
Tap Backup.
Step 5:
Wait for Backup to complete.
Step 6:
Swipe left to go backward and select Power off.
Done.

How to use OTG pen drive in Micromax Unite 2?

Micromax Unite 2 has limited OTG support. Whenever you connect a pen drive it shows a notification "Checking for errors". Its a software bug not a hardware problem. In order to connect a pen drive you can either install USB OTG Helper or flash any custom ROM. As most custom ROMs are full of bugs so it is advised to root Unite 2 and mount pen drive using USB OTG Helper.
You need:
1. USB OTG Helper (Download from play store)
2. X-Plore file manager or ES file explorer (Download from play store)
3. Rooted Micromax Unite 2
To mount OTG drive follow these steps:
Step 1:
Open USB OTG Helper and Grant root permission.
Step 2:
Tap MOUNT.
Step 3:
You will see an error "code 9".
Step 4:
Now open X-plore File Manager (or ES file explorer).
Step 5:
Open root folder ( / ).
Step 6:
Open storage folder.
Step 7:
Open UsbOtgDrives folder.
Step 8:
Open drive_1 folder.
Step 9:
Now you can see your pen drive contents here.
NOTE: If this method doesn't work in ES file explorer then uninstall ES file explorer and install again.
IMPORTANT: Unmount your pen drive before removing.
DONE.

Thanks a lot. I had already done 95% of the process, just didn't know the location where to find the drive. Thanks for pin-pointing the drive location.

Root : JB 4.2
Root Micromax A37B
1. Download The Kingroot APK here and install it to your phone.
2. Run King Root application.
3. Click on Root button. It take sometime for the rooting process.
4. Reboot device, done. :good:

Stock Rom : JB 4.2
Unbrick your Micromax A37B
1. Download Stock Rom from here (by firmwarefiles.com)and extract it.
2. Download mtk_usb driver from here and install it.
3. Open Sp flash tool, select scatter.txt.
4. Click on download.
5. Power off your device (confirm off), then connect usb cable. (without battery)
6. System will detect your device as mediatek_preloader_com.
7. Sp Tool will recognise your Phone and flashing will start.
8. Once the flashing process is completed, a green ring will appear on your system.
9. Dissconnect, Power On, Done :good:

Nandroid Backup/restore (recommended)
Take Full backup of your Micromax A37b
Method 1:
You can do full backup/restore with Custom recovery (Carliv/TWRP).
Method 2:
1. Download Mtkdroid tool here (by gsmhosting)and extract it.
2. Download Pdanet andoid usb driver from here and install it.
3. Install BusyBox.apk in your device from playstore.
4. Enable debugging mode on your phone > Settings > Development. Tap 'android usb debugging' and make sure it's checked.
(if there is no option for development then go to setting > about phone > build number, tap on it 7 times, Go back to Settings menu and now you'll be able to see 01Development there.)
5. Open MTK Droid Tools folder with right-click on 'MTKdroidTools.exe' and Select 'Run as administrator'.
6. Wait several seconds while MTK Droid Tools communicates with your device. give root permission to adb-shell on your device.
7. Click the 'root' button in MTK Droid Tools to get temporary root shell.
8. Now get nvram backup. For full backup go to 2nd tab click on backup.
9. Here will be saved all backup \MtkDroidTools\backups.Done.
