Signal Problem after dropping phone - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
so, few days ago i accidentally dropped my pohne; well not really dropping it but i didn't see something on the ground and fell over it... Phone was in my pocket the whole time... i didn't check it afterwards cause in the middle of the night you can't really see anything, and i thought in my pocket it shouldn't get damaged. So yeah... the morning after i recognized it doesn't connect to my provider anymore, tried out several other sim cards, no success. Most of the time it now just shows the empty signal icon, sometimes it connects to my provider but when it does signal is very weak and only e network h/h+ doesn't work completely, but it disappears after few seconds.
What i tried so far:
- reflashing ROM with fullwipe (/system wipe aswell); thought it was a rom derp first
- opened the phone and disassembled it, checked mainboard, usb board and antenna for cracks etc. couldn't find anything... looks like new, the only "crack" is my volume keys seem to have taken a bit damage and are now split in half... everything else is fine, screen no scratches etc
So yeah now i'm quite clueless what could've been damaged... since everyting else works completely fine only mobile network/internet doesn't work... could my antenna be damaged?
I thought about buying a replace antenna and testing if that works.... any other ideas?
Thanks in advance

[Q] Network problem or Hardware ??

last night my g3 fell on the floor and and got into 3 pieces(cover battery and the phone). After putting things back on and booting the phone, a weird problem occurred. My cell shows no network coverage all the time. I tried several other SIMs but no use. I changed rom but still no luck. Then today i put a sim and then I was able to call once or twice and then again nothing. ITS NOT A NETWORK PROBLEM I THINK BECAUSE THE NETWORK SHOWS FULL STRENGTH ON ANOTHER PHONE. When i again put the original sim, it says Emergency Call only and on the sim on which it worked today, it shows signal strength nice but is not able to make or receive calls. So did it happen because my cell fell down or what? more over its in warranty period, so if I take it to the service center with custom rom custom kernel custom bootanimation and custom (CWM) recovery, will it be a problem ???
this happened to me once.. i think 2 months ago.... i just pressed the area where "samsung" logo appears on the pannel and pressed it harder and harder.....
and the i saw that the signal is full
next when i released my fingers the signal went again.. after i sat on it like i was sitting on the chair, everything came back to normal
i didnt mean you to sit on it or brake it by pressing it hard, but i mean that its a problem related to the antenna or something... pressing it softly would do the job..
thumbs up for me cause it really works

Facing the same error.
Installed a custom rom. Did everything. But no luck.

Guess it's the end of it. :crying:

[Q] No signal and crazy touchscreen

Hello there!
Since yesterday I've had this problem with my Z3 D6653. Yesterday unexpectedly it completely lost cellular signal. It was like that like for the whole afternoon, I was expecting it to solve by itself, however I rebooted it ike at 7 o' clock and that was it. Nonetheless, today it happened again, before midday. I tried to do the same thing with no success. I tried to enter settings and search manually for a network operator, but it was searching like forever and no result. I couldn't turn on or off mobile data either, nor change the preferred network type. But there was something else. A band on the screen was completely unresponsive to touch. I'll post pictures too so you can see well.
I just tried a factory reset and it was the same. I was testing the touch entering to the *#*#7378425#*#* and then it became worse. On the middle of the previously unresponsive band, touches began to be triggered out of nowhere, and now it wont stop. It's actually very difficult to use the touchscreen. So, what do you think it might be? I was in a pool on sunday, today it's wednesday. I lasted on the water with my cellphone half an hour, exactly. (I know because I took photos just before entering and exiting the pool).
Hope you can help me out. I'm desperate and I don't want to lose my phone :crying:.
have you tried repairing it with sony pc companion? if not give it ago, most likely software issue if it just happened out of nowhere, not unless you dropped.

Yes, I did a factory reset, I changed it's firmware from Australia to Hong Kong, and the only change was that I lost my info uselessly. In fact, the screenshot of the lockscreen showing no signal is post reset.
I forgot to mention that the touchscreen went berserk when I pushed the area where it didn't detect any touch. After that, all those touches were breaking havoc and it was a real pain in the ass to do anything. To enable the option to show touches, to set the alarm... All these touches happen mostly over a straight line, which can be seen on the screenshots. The outer lines are the borders of the unsensitive region, and the line inside is where randomly the touches happen.

Okay, so you used flashtool, flash another regions ftf and see how that goes. If that doesn't show the issue then it is most likely a hardware issue. Either when you dropped the phone it broke it or when you took it under water and it has been exposed to water. Not blaming you or anything but phones these days are extremely fragile.
And FYI, factory reset and sony pc companion are two separate things.
Maybe there is a fine crack somewhere in the screen?

I just checked and the glass is literally pristine, in the wholse sense of the word, as it was covered by a tempered glass since the very fist day I took the phone out of the box. It became a disaster and I took it off a couple of days ago, on Monday I think, or tuesday.
Anyway, I'm giving up hope. I think it's water damage. It's a pity that there's no kind of Sony centre in my city, and if I can get any assistance directly from Sony it would be by sending my cellphone to the capital. I'll call tomorrow and make all the arrangements. Hope it doesn't stab deeply my wallet.
My friend's Z3 had the same problem. The screen was registering touches out of nowhere. Then the upper side of the screen stopped working. He asked Sony for repair but since he was out of warranty, they said it would cost around $377 including parts and services as they would be replacing the screen. He opted for a third party technician, he paid $88 but the phone now has light escaping the side of the panel and is not waterproof anymore.
Sent from my D6653
Water damage. If it didn't get in through the sim or USB ports, Sony should replace it for you. One or two vertical strips appear when it gets in through the speakers. I hope you closed the flaps properly.
I called to assistance on friday, but the person in charge wasn't there, so I'll have to call on tuesday as monday is a holiday. However, today I noticed that the unensitive band was narrower, maybe the humidity is leaving, so I put it out on the sun for it to dry, or so I hope. The antenna isn't working anyway.

No signal at all

To cut a long story short, I dropped my phone, smashed the screen and when I picked it up, the signal was empty.
The sim is recognised, and I've tried a couple, but neither trigger signal to pick up.
I've checked using the secret menu, and get the default figures for signal strength, which suggests something hardware related is dead. I ripped the phone apart, looked at the logic board and under the shield and nothing was loose or broken.
I've considered plugging a wire into the additional antenna slot on the board, but I've read that can also dead the hardware.
Has anyone got any suggestions? I've ordered a new screen to fit, but will be pointless if the network is dead.
I'm not convinced it is dead, as everyone drops their phone and I've smashed the screen on another nexus 5 and not had this problem before. And until now, the device hadn't been opened.
Hey bro, the problem solved for you? Because now am having the xact problem..

HTC 610 wifi behaving so weird

Recently, my touch was broken so I replaced with from a shop. From that day my wifi wasn't turning on. But, after sometimes it turn on and suddenly again disappear. So, i go back to the shop and they assemble the phone once again very careful as they said nothing is wrong with the hardware. Now, it worked like 4 5 hours again disappear for no reason. Again i tried many ways search on google tried many solution even factory reset. I tried to drill the battery to zero percent wifi comes back again its gone after some times. Again I visited the shop they try to clean the phone antenna and everything. assemble it careful. Well it runs again and after few hours disappear. So, I tried to figure out what actually the problem. I remove the back cover and try touch the battery couldn't move it as it is fixed with glue. But, whenever I open the cover the wifi doesn't work. But, i try to move the battery and create pressure on it without even turning off the phone the wifi comes back. But, later again after few hours the wifi is gone.
When its gone sometimes it disconnecting and connecting again and again. Sometimes it even couldn't find the signal at all. In my area I find many wifi routers with mine too. But when the problem occur it can't find any network so Its not my router problem and other phone's and laptop are working well with my router.
The problem is that it suddenly disappear with no reason and I have no idea what is the problem ??
can anybody help me to fix the issue ?

No signal after screen replacement

Hey guys. So the LCD went out on my 3a a while back. I bought the parts and replaced it myself (I've done these before so I wasn't lost). I ended up replacing my battery, loud speaker, fingerprint scanner and a couple other parts as well, because why not? Also replaced both antenna cables (white and black). Anyway, after getting everything all put back together, I installed my SIM card and it recognizes there's a SIM installed, but signal never comes in. No cell signal or internet. Any ideas on a cause or a fix? I triple checked everything before setting the screen in the adhesive and everything was connected correctly. Thanks in advance!
Silly question but did you try to restart the phone?
Yesterday I had an accident and my phone slipped from my pocket a screen/glass got broken :/
Can you tell where did you bought the screen and is it the same quality as original one? Thanks in advance.
I've restarted, flashed back to a previous update, taken the latest updates. You name it. I've tried everything that I know to try. The phone recognized that there's a Sim card installed but just won't pick up signal
