[Q] Any way to emulate Nvidia shield / xbox / ps3 controller ? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have recently tried and succeeded to make Portal and Half Life 2 work on my OnePlus One (I can't tell how because it's illegal and against the rules of the forum I think, do your own research). The only problem is, I need the Nvidia Shield controller, or a ps3 / xbox / or any other android-supported controller, as there are no touch controls. My problem is that I don't have any controller of this type (except a Wiimote which doesn't work with Android kitkat). Here is my question : is there an app / overlay which can simulate a physical controller so I can play it without a physical controller ? I know it's quite hard, but I'm pretty desperate, as I can look at the beautiful menu screen, but am not able to control it. Does anyone have an idea ?
Thanks in advance.

Cm doesn't support wiimote? I thought they did.

Wrote you a pm, but it's for using the controller, sorry.

Look into the sixaxis app. I know it supported ps3 / wii motes in the past. I wouldn't see it going away now.

Thanks for your answers. Maybe CM supports the Wiimote, but at least it seems that the Wiimote doesn't work with these games. I think they need a classic controller mapping.

PS3 Controller Driver

Hello to all of you,
As i saw here are some impressive programmers at work and i wanted to ask how it can be done to rewrite a normal windows driver for windows mobile? I think it would be wonderful to use the ps3 controller as gamepad.
Im kinda new to the whole programming scene but ive got time and a strong will so if anybody could give me a little push at the start i will get to the goal more quickly.
Thanks for any advice!

if you could, it would be amazing, infact any controller to work with the phone would make me very happy. Especially when using the PS1 emulator.
However I stuggled to get my PS3 controller to work with my PC so getting to work on a phone?... dunno.
Tutorial to use your ps3 controller as gamepad on pc
i think it can not be that difficult but ill try
If I'm not totally wrong, I think I remember that die Experia X2 will can be used as a PS3-Controller and connect it directly with your PS3.
OK this migth not be your question, but is a bit similar maybe and maybe some have interests for that (I'm sure this option will be ported from the X2 to the HD2!)
microsoft & xbox
Windows Mobile + X box = Microsoft Portable Gaming Device controller.
Perhaps it could work with this driver here.

If you are interested in alternatives to the MSI or Chainpus BGP100 bluetooth gamepad, google search "modded by bacteria" go to the "work in progress" section of his forums, and search for the thread "Re-housed Bluetooth controller". The creator of the site, Bacteria, will be transplanting the innards of the BGP100 into an SNES controller. Previously, he has transplanted it into a PS1 controller. It seams feasible to DIY into almost any controller housing.
Any progress ? I think this would be an awesome thing, SNES on Android with a PS3 controller = NGP
Has anyone tried "Cobaltikus's" app called CobaltController? It'll allow you to connect either a ps3 controller or a wii remote to our windows mobile phones. You can find it HERE
Anyone have any luck with this yet?
Has anyone checked out motioninjoy?
I cant even get gamepro to work let alone anything else. The last 2 listed, where do i find those? they are not in market

Remote Controllers for Android ?

I was interested in getting a remote control specifically for gaming on my Nexus One. Anyone have any idea? i.e. bluetooth remotes/usb remotes etc....(I would like to have a usb conntected remote unless the bluetooth ver can use a Wiimote or a PS3 remote ...but any is acceptable)...
please advise me, I searched and I do not see anything mentioned except for a thread asking if the WiiMote can be used with only one response saying "+1"...
Any1 have any ideas/insight?
there is a app to get ps3 bluetooth controler working on windows phones what are the chances of this happening on Android?
There is an app to use a Wii controller for your Android phone. Search the market.

Yes I know but I was wondering about ps3 Bluetooth controler, I hijacked this thread after searching...
I think using a mixture of this.
showthread.php?t=689984
(which you use to fool the Sixaxis into connecting to your phone)
with ??
will get it working.
the top part is only half the battle there needs to be something on the phone to undestand the HID input it will get from the Sixaxis.
so what we need is something like....
Wii Controller IME (Found on market and Appbrain.com)
but for Sixaxis.
the best source I have found for information about Sixaxis + Mobiles
is above and The sixaxis with the HD2 look it up on youtube. video is called "PS3 Sixaxis on HTC HD2 using Fpsece"
So with the best will in the world it is very very possible to achieve.
you just need someone who isn't in there 3rd week of Android ownership and only in there infancy of Android development like me.
PS sorry I haven't Linked to information outside of XDA it is due to a restriction on my User account as i'm new. but I think with google you should be able to find all the relevant pages I have mentioned.
PS3 Paired with Android
I am also very interested in this. Does anybody know how to use a PS3 controller to control an android device?
Any updates on this in the past few months?

Gaming

So yesterday I downloaded Nesoid and a handful of ROMs for my Captivate. I had some fun playing them, but using the on screen virtual keyboard was really hard and it covered most of the gaming action. So I see that the new psx4droid supports wiimote. So I emailed the developer of Nesoid and suggested that he add that capability to his too and that other than that its a great emulator. He emailed back and this is his response
You can use other apps on the Market. But please enable input method in Nesoid settings.

What does this actually mean? Is there another app that I have to download and install first to get the wiimote to connect to my phone via bluetooth?
I dont have a wiimote yet, and before I go buy one, I'd like to know exactly how it works, if it will.
Search for "Wiimote controller" on the market, should work.
You can use a few bluetooth gamepads with android. One being
MSI Bluetooth Gamepad (BGP-100) which is a weird kinda swivel thing. I am going to gut a SNES controller and put the BGP-100 into it. It has been done before and everything seems to fit fine.
There is also another bluetooth controller made for blackberry's that works with android. It is vertical gamepad with a trigger control. Seems pretty nice.
I think you have to buy a market app to get the drivers to make the above 2 gamepads work.
Also as mentioned you can use a wiiremote as a gamepad for android. I have been looking for a wii classic controller + wii combo, so it does not have to be tethered to a normal wii controller to work. I want small and portable bluetooth with a dfecent amount of buttons that is why I am going with the SNES form factor.

Free, although it does say there isn't galaxy s support....so it might not work.
wiimotes currently do not work on the SGS phones because of the bt3.0. not sure on the other BT controllers
Are there any controllers that can be plugged in? Just wondering for flights...
Well I emailed the developer of Wiimote Controller and asked if they could update to support Galaxy S phones. This is there response:
Hello,
thank you for your feedback.
I don't think this will be possible with the current way Samsung's software is handling bluetooth.
Best regards,
Piki

Doesnt sound good for us getting to use a wiimote as a gamepad
Trying to play Nesoid with onscreen vitrual controller sucks, its too hard and I'm afraid of breaking my phone. Every time I get into the game and start tapping A or B rapidly I can feel it flex and creak in my hands.
Just wondering in anybody has made progress on getting a bluetooth controller for the captivate/galaxy s?
Ive been looking into it...and came to a bunch of dead ends aswell :sigh:

Please let me know if anyone finds a controller that works.
Thank you,

Speaking of games...
I wasn't able to find any in the market but I'm rooted so I know I can find games from other sources.
Are there any games like Alone in the Dark (horror genre) or fantasy role playing that would have the same type of graphics you'd see in WoW that I can put on my Captivate?

[Q] PS3 controller and Bluez IME on Shield

So I'm sure this question has been asked and answered but I'd like to use a PS3 controller (or possibly another Bluetooth controller) on my Shield but I'm not sure how. I wanna be able to sit on the couch and play emulators without looking at one screen in my face and be able to play games multiplayer. Help would me much appreciated. I'm semi-new to Android. Before owning the shield I had a phone for a bit last year but couldn't get a controller to work on that either.
I also would like to try that.
with ipega or moga controller.
Don't know about the PS3 controller, but I use the OnLive BY controller and use the HDMI port on SHIELD to my TV...

Yes, works great.
You can use also a Xbox controller with a USB receiver.
If you want to use the PS3 controller you have to root your shield and use the famous sixaxis app from google play. To use the Xbox controller you don't need to root, because you're actually connecting the receiver to the USB in the shield.
Now that I tried both I prefer PS3 controller, because involves less cables and with the sixaxis app you can map buttons and change a lot of things.
I created a thread about gamepads here:

Just using the touchscreen no! However i believe that you can use a bluetooth keyboard+mouse to play
Or a spare PS3/4 controller + Sixaxis app, works fantastic. I've read Xbox 360/One controllers also work but i don't own one to test it.
If you have an OTG USB hub you can also use USB mouse and keyboard (and even USB Ethernet adaptor) to play on GRID.
I think the whole point of the post is to be able to play games on the Shield tablet without using a cumbersome gamepad, keyboard or mouse. A virtual gamepad overlay would be a great addition to the Shield tablet. Even if it doesn't work as well as a real gamepad, at least it's an option. If I'm going somewhere, I don't want to have to drag a MOGA controller with me in addition to the tablet. Would rather just hold the tablet and be done with it.
