[Q] Stuck in bootloop! please help =[ - AT&T LG G3

Ok so I got stuck in a bootloop after applying a custom font in iFont. It requires a device restart, so thats what I did (which I have done many times before with no issues) and now I am in a bootloop. I don't seem to be able to get into stock recovery and I don't have a backup of my phone, either since I have the AT&T variant and custom recoveries aren't yet possible. Never had this happen before so I'm freaking out. How can I fix it?! preferably without losing all my ****. If there's a way. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks =]

Did u try flashing back to stock?

I am downloading LG PC Suite right now to try to get rid of root and go back to complete stock. Hoping that solves the problem but I'm kind of confused as to how it would when a font through iFont caused the problem. Never had any problems with root or with xposed framework or anything else. It was a font. So not really sure how taking off root is going to solve anything =[

andddd... can't get a connection in the PC Suite to even do anything. Re downloaded drivers and everything but the computer isn't recognizing the Android MTP Device. Which makes sense.. So does the suite need that driver to work?, or is there another problem that is preventing it from recognizing my device?

Jesus Christ... nothing wants to work for me. Thank you for the link and advice. But my computer doesn't want to download the zip for the LG Flash tool that they have hosted on Mega. Want to make sure I'm getting the right flash tool so that everything works like it should. Is there another link to it somewhere else?

Just kidding. it was the browser. I was using Opera (don't ask). lol. I'm using firefox now and was able to get the files downloaded.
Couple more questions. I realized this computer is running Vista. I never use computers anymore so I don't really pay attention. haha. Could that possibly be the problem with the PC Suite? I've never used it before so I don't know if it would have worked before while my phone was working. However, I have plugged my phone into the computer before just to transfer files and whatnot and never had any problems with the drivers. But if that could possibly be the problem I have a laptop that has Windows 7 and it is downloading the PC Suite right now but it is taking FOREVER and for some reason keeps having network error issues and stopping the download so it is taking even longer. So the question is would it be worth it to wait for it and see what happens or should I just use the LGFlash method you posted above? Also with that method, will I lose all my data? I know it says at the end of the instructions to perform a factory reset through the settings menu once you get the phone back up and running, but at that point I would be able to save all of my data beforehand if it doesn't reset everything through the process. So does the process already reset everything?
I obviously have terrible luck with computers. lol. And phones, apparently. But mostly computers.

Yes, you will lose all your data after flashing back stock. That's why in the future it's important to make regular titanium backups and store your photos and media on an external sd card instead. I've never used the pc suite so I can't comment on that.

Thank you. I finally got fed up with the stupid PC Suite and used the LGFlash method. It was my last option so I didn't really have a choice. So I lost all my data. But luckily I haven't had the phone for too long. Only a couple months. So there wasn't too much to lose. I lost some pics and videos but memories are forever and photos are just mementos of the memories. So I'll get over it. Also lost all my hungry shark data. I had an almost fully maxed out Megaladon =[ lol. Oh well. Lesson for next time. I have Helium and a dropbox and I could have backed up all my pics just on my PC at some point, so I'm kicking myself for not doing that. But it's a lesson for next time. And this time I will definitely have the pictures save to SD instead. Thanks for the help, though!

So phone screen cracked... anyway to backup internal SD?

My phone screen cracked a couple weeks ago, it wasn't that bad that I couldn't stand it but it was a little bothersome. Anyways I thought I would just put up with it for a while, but I ended up placing a claim for a replacement from Asurion a few days ago. Well I dropped my phone again the other day while I was walking home using the LED flash, and I thought everything was fine til I got home and I noticed the screen didn't turn on anymore. It is unresponsive as well so can't answer calls either. I tried plugging the device into my computer and it listed the device but I couldn't access the actual files. I tried opening Odin up just to see if I could even write to the phone, and ended up flashing a root66 file I had from a while back. I don't believe it wipes the the internal SD so I was wondering if it was possible to retrieve the data off the phone still? I have most of my stuff, including Titanium backups, on my external SD; but I believe I have a few important files on the internal too.
Edit: .-. Just remember I was on an AOSP rom before odin'ing.. so phone won't boot up all the way. Are there any AOSP roms I can flash in Odin? Yeah I know what I did was really stupid haha.

There's an app called airdroid that let's you control and use a lot of the phones functions on a web browser via wifi. You can browse your files, send and receive text messages among many other things. Maybe it will help you out with copying files to your computer and other problems?
Edit: just saw your edit sorry don't know how to help.

Even then, the screen doesn't turn on and is unresponsive. So can't install any apps or anything.
You could try adb pull, but I don't know the exact paths you should use. Don't forget phone needs to in usb debugging before you're able to use it.

Gave up on adb a while ago. Tried so many times to figure out how to use it to no avail. Plus I might have screwed up too far at this point to adb
You could give Android Commander a try. Read about it on Addictivetips, I believe it uses adb. It's pretty much a file explorer.

[Q] Deleted photo recovery from internal memory

I have a Droid Razr HD Android Version 4.1.2 Build number 9.8.1q-79
Is there anyway to recover my deleted photos from my internal memory?
I lost 5 months worth of pics. This pics are very important to me.
I have tried various recovery programs using my PC but I can't get these programs to recognize my phone through a USB port.
It appears that I have to use my phone instead of my PC to recover my pics but when I try to open any recovery program that I download my phone will not open the program.
I have at least 100 pics or more that I accidentally deleted. The majority of these pics where taken at my job which I use for reference. I should have had these pics on my external card but I just plain screwed up on that move. I have been told that I should switch phone to "mass storage" but I can't get my phone to do that. Rooting my phone has been suggested also but I think that option is above my pay grade. I know just enough about computers and smart phones to get me in trouble.
If the was no way to recover pics and files I would just accept my loses and move on but recovery is possible from what I understand. I just don't know why it has to be so difficult.
Thanks in advance for any help I can get.------------------------------------------------------Joe

sorry i cant help with recovering the pics, but as far as your pc recognizing the phone, you have the latest moto drivers installed? (google search them), and you have usb debugging enabled in the developer menu?
both of those would cause your pc to not see the phone if not installed/enabled.
also there are 2 settings in the pull down menu for usb debugging when connected, if one doesnt work, try the other one.

I understand that not everything can be repaired. Contrary to what some people may think I am not frustrated at the help I have received from this site and the many others I have used. I just find it hard to believe that I am the only person who owns one of these phones that ended up with this problem. I am amazed at what this phone can do and I still am learning about all of it's capabilities. That is why I find it hard to believe that I can't access what is setting right there in my hand.
Although I am not a builder of phones by any means it seems to me that a simple recycle bin would give people a second chance after making a mistake.
Thanks for everybody's help so far. I am going to continue looking for a solution and if it is out there and I can find it I will post what I find here so others will not have to search so hard.

It helped me get a lot of info from my phone internal memory (which I didn't deleted by the way, it was a corruption caused by my PC )
Let me know if this helped you a bit.
search Android data recovery on Google
Some Android data recovery software can restore lost pictures from internal memory of Android phone. Here are my suggestions:
(1) Carefully check the "user manual", make sure it can support your Android phone model.
(2) Do not pay for any data recovery software unless it has found the lost photos.
Good luck!

If you use Google, you might have your pictures backed up for you. Not a lot of people put a lot of credibility in this but it's saved my butt when I wiped my phone to try the latest greatest ROM (wiped everything, including SD) forgetting I had my Korean vacation pictures on the phone. Fortunately, I allow Google to back up my pictures.
Trust me, disaster averted. Wife would have killed me dead.
That data recovery thing looks kind of fake to me, but the previous advice is good, don't pay for anything unless it can actually recover your data.

Pc will not recognize phone, tried everything I can think of.

Hello and good morning. I recently began the process to backup my phone storage on my pc, and after enabling developer mode and then subsequently enabling usb debugging, I connect my phone to the pc without seeing any options for mft transfer or anything. It simply will not be recognized. Have the latest SDK and HTC sync software installed, but neither of them detect the device. I tried restarting, disabling and re enabling usb debugging etc, all to no avail. I manually installed drivers, uninstalled HTC sync and none of that worked.
Then read that sometimes it helps to restart the phone by holding down the power button for 10 seconds. This is to simulate a battery pull since you can't actually do that with the one X+.
This was strange; When I did that, the three 'buttons' would flash and the text would show "device will restart if you hold down the power button for 3, 2, 1 seconds.." but just stops there and won't restart, with the dialogue still displayed and the lights flashing. I let go of the power button and the dialogue goes away but the device won't restart unless I do it through normal means, still not fixing the issue.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Try uninstalling HTC Sync.
After uninstalling Sync, connect the device and check in Device Manager if it is present. If yes, then uninstall it's drivers from there.
Now, reconnect it. Windows will show new device and find drivers for it. It should work now.
Sometimes, the USB drivers can act funny.

I've uninstalled the sync manager and then reinstalled the standalone drivers and still get nothing. I think it's an issue with the phone itself. I just recently enabled the developer options to enable usb debugging, and it's only been since that happened that I can't connect to it. I've done just about everythi g when it came to enabling disabling debugging (the only dev option I touched) restarting etc and thus far I'm not getting anything. I'm thinking I may just have to hard reset the device unless anyone can come up with anything. Anyone recommend a really good backup option since I'm not rooted and I can't connect it to my pc?
@JawshBawx, if you were rooted I'd definitely have you use Titanium Backup, but seeing how it requires root and you aren't rooted, it won't work for you.
In fact, come to think of it, all of the non-PC backup methods require root!
Does your device have an SD card slot?
Haha. No it's an HTC One X plus. Next phone will have an sd lol. I actually found all this out because I was trying to start the root process! Can't do that without connecting to my pc or without having an sd card [emoji14]

Looks like you're just a little bit screwed - and by "a little bit screwed" I mean you're going to have to factory reset your One X+ without backing it up.

Do you know anyone else in this forum who might have some ideas here? Someone has to know something that can help some part of this situation haha. I might just have to dropbox everything and then move that info to my pc.. a long manual backup.. fun! But if anyone else has an idea concerning the original issue.. I'd be a happy camper.

Portable ADB ALL [ANDROID] devices

Have you ever needed to use ADB at a work PC or a location you could not "install" applications?
Unzip the attached file and click the RunMe.bat
I have tested this pulling logs, pushing/pulling files, flashing recovery, roms, and anything else I could think of.
I tested it on the M8 stock rom 5.0.2 but this is a generic file so it should be fine on most if not all android devices.
The idea came when I was at work and looking for a solution for a problem I had. I could not install anything on my work PC, so this came in handy, the only problem is that it was outdated, or seemed outdated for my needs.
find the zip file here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347791558
This topic has been covered but is very outdated. I only found information from 2011 and 2013. The included information has since been updated by Google. I found it and included it, re-zipped it and now it is here for you to enjoy.
Thanks
to @Kickface, (where I first found this solution) wherever you went and any others who have created a truly portable (not minimal) solution to using ADB without installing anything.

I know this is totally off topic, I'll report myself for it later....
So, I installed the zip file onto my work PC, a DELL Inspiron laptop running Windows 7 professional (I really cannot get too much more info about it now) sorry. My nooby butt just went and downloaded the file not checking the MD5 :crying: Totally a dumb thing a NOOBY would do. It started to get late & I had to get ready to go to work. I know I had the command prompt screen (Black box) running and I then left the computer. 8 hr's later I come home from work and the computer is locked as normal, I to proceed entering Ctrl+Alt+Delete combination as usual & NOTHING (panic setting in)!! I was concerned since it was frozen from something I done, also I didn't want to loose all the work I gathered that night prior (is the very least of my worries now)... I took out the battery to reset the computer, again like a dummy, I started Windows normally ignoring the other "safe mode, etc" options. I click on windows Chrome, NOTHING! Not even an option to open the program/app. Okay, I'm really panicking now WTH did I do??? I knew I did something wrong, so I reset the computer by battery again, put it in "Safe Mode" which did absolutely nothing as I couldn't "open desktop gadgets in safe mode". Now, I restarted the computer from the start menu... Started up completely fine, I have access to everything EXCEPT Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc. anything that is browser related has the administrator shield on the icon. However, I still cannot even click on the icon to run as an administrator even if I had the password!?!?
Is there any possible hope to uninstall that file and just maybe it'll go back to normal??? I cannot re-install Chrome or Internet Explorer due to the darn administrator rights!!!
I've searched to the ends of the earth since last night trying to find a solution, this is my last ditch effort resort for any possible suggestions to point me in the right direction. Luckily my friend was kind enough to lend me his laptop and my phone is in proper working order:angel: If I tell my IT guy what happened, I'll be in huge trouble, going on the 2nd laptop destroyed, 1st time really wasn't my fault, just saying so u don't think I'm continuously reckless.
Any help as always is greatly appreciated! Hoping someone has had this happen maybe:fingers-crossed: and just a slight point in the right direction (link, website, specific thread on forum) would b awesome?? Again, apologies on the "off-topic" content, I don't know what else to do & I feel as though XDA is THE ABSOLUTE BEST forum site for any Android help, apps, devs research, roms, etc. Thx in Advance!!

Again, apologies on the "off-topic" content, I don't know what else to do & I feel as though XDA is THE ABSOLUTE BEST forum site for any Android help, apps, devs research, roms, etc. Thx in Advance!!

I can tell you that it's not related to the files because I use them on my work PC all the time. I am working 10 hours days, 6 days a week. So the only time I can do anything out of the ordinary on my phone, it has to be at work.
That being said, have you tried system restore? I'm not sure if that requires admin rights, it might. On another note, tell the IT guy your internet explorer just stopped working, they love that. Because seriously, it's unrelated. The most he will do is uninstall and reinstall IE/Chrome. If that doesn't fix it, a system restore should. If that still does not, there is something off with the settings for internet access (I've seen that before). But if you are saying there is a shield/lock over an icon, that's new to me.
Also, I can install chrome at my work. It usually does not require admin rights, that and Firefox. There are also many portable browsers you can download from another PC and copy the zip file to the laptop, and run the app. Just search portable browser. At least this will help determine if the browsers installed got locked or if there is a network setting being blocked.
Let me know how it goes. This IS a bit off topic, but let's figure out what's wrong publicly so the mods can see there is nothing wrong with the zip I posted and then we can have our posts removed.

Thanks for getting back to me, I appreciate it.
I'm glad to hear that it's not the file bc I cannot uninstall that regardless. We do have crazy blocks on all the computers at my work. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the sensitive information we have (a drug tx center so everyone's personal info is in our database). We can't even update the time on our computers, I have no clue why. I asked him once, he said something about giving that permission would open up another way to bypass security (I can't remember exactly).
This is my laptop, I never even bother bringing into work because I work so much from home. For example my login at the office has updated twice when at home it's still my old login password. The computer is physically in bad shape (it's been used & abused for sure) I'd prefer not to the bring it in for him to see so I plan on waiting to Friday night (IF ALL ELSE FAILS) and txtg him saying I absolutely need to work & see if he will do troubleshoot remote access! I hope that doesn't sound too horrible :-/
As I was typing this I just received an email to restart all workstations due to updates/ changes to the server done this weekend... Hmmmm it could totally be bc of this!!!!! Fingers crossed. I may just have to bring it in let it connect to the local server reset it, and bam good to go If not due to this I can almost guarantee it's the internet settings that I don't have access to!! But the portable browser should work...
I will still try all of your suggestions once I get home this afternoon and report back to you ASAP!!
Luckily I have my friends laptop to borrow & Dell had some good deals on laptops last night so I ordered a really nice one since I really need a personal computer again. Which I will also get an expense check for (bonus)!! But, won't arrive until 3/16. Until then I do have access to extra pc's here I could always swap it out, but I don't want to be scrutinized or punished for being sneaky, it's really not my character...
Again, I appreciate your input. Also, totally agreed on the "off-topic resolution" first and then delete our posts...
Thanks Again!
Yeah, I cannot get through the security on it.
When I look at the properties or try to repair Chrome or IE, it has an incorrect path, totally crazy looking.
\\localhost\C$\os(c\Users\mludford.....
I'm currently downloading a zip for a standalone browser. Hopefully that'll work...
This thread in general is totally crazy too, it looks like I replied like 3 or 4 times, I DID NOT :/ I tried twice & it told me that I didn't have access to the post, with a grey button over my original post you replied to, saying "Spoiler"!?! Very strange....

Needless to say it's not the settings or anything with the computer as I took it into work for it to "register" & update to the network settings... Nothing! So, I'm trying the above to see if I can't get around it. Thanks Again

Question Data transfer to Pixel 7 pro

Just a quick one, does anyone know what app is meant to transfer data from a Samsung to a pixel? If I plug the phones into one another my Samsung says no compatible app and there's no option to transfer data. I'm wondering if its some bloatware I've uninstalled from the Samsung perhaps. There's no transfer dialogue that pops up on my old phone and I need to move all my pictures across. Thanks
If you plug both devices together you should be able to change USB mode of one of them to Data Transfer and then copy/paste between them.

Thanks for the reply. The issue I'm having now is the setup dialogue is gone. Anyone have any tips on where to find it?
Edit. I don't want to copy paste and have all the dates and times on my images reset

Ooooooh, so you skipped the initial transfer during setup?
You'd have to figure out what the intent command is to relaunch initial setup and try that way, otherwise factory reset the pixel and say yes to transfer from other device.

Ah yeah, you'd have to do a reset and start over.
Personally, I've always had much better results telling the first setup screen that I don't have my old phone, and then proceeding to restore using Google's cloud backup. I've never had an issue doing that, but of course, that requires that you had Google cloud backup performed on the old phone. You can do so on the Samsung if you still have it, and you hadn't already done so previously.
I believe I've read about some way to manually activate the first setup without a factory reset - possible by using an app such as Activity Launcher, but I don't recall the details.

That's a good suggestion thanks. I'm always afraid I'll lose things of I don't transfer phone to phone but I know it can lead to problems by inadvertently carrying over loads of old files that won't be used by the new phone. Still have my Sammy so I'll back that up. Thanks

You're welcome! I'm at the tail end of transferring my files from my 6 Pro to the 7 Pro. It's mostly just music (FLAC files) that's left, and I'm not moving all of them.
