Hi there,
My table is an Acer A700 with Cyanogenmod cm11-20140803-SNAPSHOT-M9-a700.zip and Clockwordmod recovery v6.0.4.4
Since I was using it multi-user and it was very slow I wanted to clean it and performed factory reset within Cyanogenmod settings.
After that it got in a boot loop loading bootloader.
Installed the stand-alone Android SDK Tools for Windows (including google divers) on my Windows 8 computer
Can get the tablet in fastboot mode, but the device is not recognized by my computer (driver not found).
Also can get the tablet in recovery mode.
Tried to upload cm11-20140803-SNAPSHOT-M9-a700.zip, but got several error messages like:
- adb push update.zip /sdcard/0/ ==> failed to copy 'update.zip' to '/sdcard/0/': no such file or directory
- adb push update.zip /sdcard0/data/ ==> failed to copy 'update.zip' to '/sdcard0/': is a directory
- adb push update.zip /sdcard0/ ==> failed to copy 'update.zip' to '/sdcard0/': is a directory
- adb push update.zip /sdcard/data/ ==> failed to copy 'update.zip' to '/sdcard/data/': no such file or directory
- adb push update.zip /sdcard/ ==> failed to copy 'update.zip' to '/sdcard/': is a directory
- adb push update.zip /data/ ==> protocol failure =>> later this worked!!
From recovery mode i tried to install zip from sdcard, but browsing the sdcard is not possible. Instead the a700 reboots.
I guess the internal sdcard is corrupted, but I'm afraid formatting /system volume will not solve the problem
I think i should place a new image of clockworkmod, but how when fastboot isn't working?
Anyone an idea how to fix this?
update 11th sept. 2014: After formatting sdcard i was able to upload zip file and could browse sdcard again. Tablet working great now
may be you can try to install from external scdard (advantage here is that you don't need to connect the tablet to the PC, you just need a micro-sd to USB adapter)

Thanks for your reply.
Already tried installing from slot for external sdcard, but didn't work
Hey bro I sort of have the same problem. Could you tell me how you formatted your SDcard? It's an internal sdcard right?

It indeed is an internal sdcard. I formatted it from the recovery mode menu: chose mounts and storage - format /data and /data/media (/sdcard).
Only formatting /data wasn't enough.

Well I tried everything but whenever I pressed the power button the tablet would reboot. It wouldn't format it. Anyway my problem got solved I had to use command prompt to format it and upload my update. Took seven hours though! Thanks for your help

btw you mentioned you're using a Windows 8 PC. Can you access the tablet on file explorer when you connect it to the PC? because I have to use third party programs to access the tablet.

Great you solved the probleem too!
Yes, my Windows 8.1 detects the A700 automatically and I can access it on file explorer without installing third party software.
We May WARN the others ""When Reset Factory Default within Setting than it will always bootlop"". but we need to know the problem is from CWM or CyanogedMOD it self. I Have this Problem Too and looks like @AusomBabs Too.

Reformat your sd card especially if it is partitioned
I did that many times. Even did it with another android phone. Also used other sdcard from my android phone.
I'm having this problem too.
Any ideas?

"E:failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory)"
I have been trying to flash the 3.2.2 ROM on my Verizon branded 4g+WiFi Xoom and I am receiving the same message when I choose apply zip from USB:
E:failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory)
I have tried three different microSD cards, 512MB, 16GB class 4, and 32GB class10. I get the same message no matter what card is tried. It does not seem to be able to see its own internal storage or the external microSD card.
I was following the steps and another odd thing is that I do not have the options to perform and Nandroid backup. I have the purchased version of ROM Manager but I need root access to be able to install ClockworkMod... Since my tablet is already at 3.2.2 all I really needed was root anyway so I can run Cisco Anyconnect VPN that required root.
Any tips on getting the Xoom to see or mount the SD card, either one, would be appreciated.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Step 1: Getting Ready to Flash Rooted Honeycomb in Xoom
1. Download the ROM Android-HC-3.2.2-Stock+Rooted-1.1-SOLARNZ.zip and save the file on your desktop.
2. Once done, connect your tab to the computer, mount SD Card or SD Ext and copy the downloaded Zip file to SD Card root. .
Step 2: Put Motorola Xoom in Recovery Mode
First you need to reboot Motorola Xoom in Recovery Mode, after that you can perform a factory reset on Xoom. Follow the steps below:
1. Turn your device on, then switch it back on
2. On startup when Motorola logo appears, press and hold Volume Down button
3. When Android recovery text appears, press the Volume Up button. Your device will now enter in recovery mode.
Note: In recovery mode, you can navigate up and down using Volume Up and Volume Down keys while Power button can be used to select an option.
Step 3: Take Nandroid Backup
1. Once in recovery mode, press & hold Power button.
2. While holding the Power button, press & release the Volume Up button.
3. Navigate to “backup and restore” and select it.
4. Select “backup” to perform your data backup.
Step 4: Factory Reset Motorola Xoom
1. Once Nandroid backup is complete, navigate to Wipe data / factory reset, then press Power button to select it.
2. It will ask for confirmation, select Yes, delete all user data option to factory reset Xoom.
Step 5: Flash Rooted Honeycomb 3.2.2 ROM
1. Select Flash Zip from SD Card
2. Then select choose zip from sd card
3. Select the zip file that you put onto the root of SD card.
4. Wait for process to complete.
And there you go! You are now on the latest Android Honeycomb version and are all set to explore what’s new. In case you are facing any issues or just want to thank the ROM chef. Do let us know in the comments section just in case if you face any issues while updating your device in the comments section as just in case if you face any issues then we will try to solve them at the earliest.
I suspect that you updated your recovery via ROM Manager to a version that doesn't recognize the external sdcard. You need to flash the solarnz R4C cwm
recovery v 3.2.0.0. Rom Manager is a pain.
Also please don't flash that 3.2.2 ROM. It will break your connectivity. If you have 4G, you can flash the Odachi kernel.
Had a problem similar to yours. Make sure you have your sdcard mounted completely in it's slot. Make sure you turn the xoom off when mounting.
4g xoom root failed
ok i attempted the 5 steps but i dont get an option for a backup nor an option to install zip file, the closest is 'apply update from usb drive' then i get the E:/failed to mount /sdcard (no such file or directory). card is mounted correctly. i bypassed the backup and just did the rest, same issue. should i keep it plugged into pc while doing all this, i plug in to copy zip file then unplug it.
Assuming that you have the correct recovery version installed (see my previous post), you should keep the sdcard mounted in your Xoom. Make sure it is actually mounted. A reboot with the card seated in its slot will usually do it.
You could at least read over this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1249798
and check the steps listed against what you have done. That often helps.
exactly what i needed detailed instructions for dummies. hopefully i will be succesful this time, taking a break for a day this stuff is for programmers, lol.

It appears the XOOM does not like SD Cards that were formatted using Windows
(or perhaps Quick Formatted using Windows).
Using a 4GB FlashDrive formatted as Fat32 using Linux (i.e. Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon 64 bit boot CD)
resolved the issue.

i have a major and awkward problem , my tf101 is bricked after installing Clemsyn-Blades3.2OCver22a but the weirdest thing is my micro sd card does not show up, only the internal storage. so because of that i cant infect nothing into cmw via micro sd
also .. cold boot freezes
Have you tried reformatting your card in a computer for FAT32?
Also, is your B7O SBKv1 or SBKv2? If it is SBKv1 you can use NVFlash if you need to.
i tried nvflash does not work so im guessing im sbv2.
i formatted micro sd(fat 32)
still only internal memory shows up in cwm .
dnt boot, stuck on asus symbol, tried wiping data and cold booting still , dnt work.
tried everything to my knowledge

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1530337
have you tried to mount manually your sdcard? wich version of cwm you have? the CWM 5.5.0.4 only shows internal sd, but you can manually mount microsd
You will needn adb ready to use in your computer.
adb shell will give you a shell where:
enter sdcard
Code:
cd /sdcard
create a folder to mount your microsd
Code:
mkdir microsd
mount your microsd
Code:
mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /sdcard/microsd
and now navigate trough sdcard to that folder
EDIT: i just had the same problem and i fixed like that,

ok, that's probably because /sdcard is a symobolinc link to /media/data, it did happen to me also
so go to root directory and delete sdcard with rm (of course you will have to unmount everything mounted over there is there is something)
now create a folder named /sdcard and mount your microsd over sdcard

Take the microSD card out of your TF. Use USB adaptor or what ever and transfer all files you need to it.
Put it back in the TF and do what shaola stated about mounting your sd card. See if that work.
I just think there's a mis communication of what he's trying to tell you and what you're actually doing.

big thx this has worked for me
i'm happy that my transformer is not bricked
So I have the issue where my CWM version is boot looping. I know how to fix it by flashing the CWM roach fix but my SD card directory is not visible either. I unfortunately can not get my transformer driver to install. The driver that is provided from the asus website isn't working. That and the driver should be showing "APX" i believe and it's showing "Transformer".
Basically, I guess I'm asking could this be caused due to me using windows xp? If i use windows 7 would I be able to get the driver installed? Would linux be a work around as well? Can anyone any thought of the situation that or maybe a work around?
I am stuck in the same boat as the original poster. The problem I have is that Win7 pro x64 will not recognize my b70 tf101 in cwm recovery. when i am in device manager it is listed in "other devices" and the device name shows up as "transformer"
any way you could link me the proper driver ?
I ran a recovery in TWRP to get my phone back to the phones original rom after being on AOKP JB Build 4 on my AT&T One X, but now it stays on the HTC boot screen with the red legal warning on it and TWRP can't mount /sdcard to flash back to another rom. I really hope that this isn't a brick but can someone shine some light on this issue and a possible fix? Help would be greatly appreciated!
Update: Was able to get AOKP flashed back by mounting /data as /sdcard, phone boots into it and I can use it, but the internal storage (/sdcard) is nonexistent and won't mount.
format sdcard in your computers os. make sure not to factory reset or clear storage in bootloader or it will corrupt sdcard.

Don't worry about the red text. We all have that. And it is not bricked.
Can you turn the phone on with the stock ROM you flashed? If so, can you mount the SD card while it is on, booted up in phone mode? If, mount it there, then move your new rom to your phone.
Hello,
I have a similar issue, i can get into TWRP recovery, but i am not able to mount sdcard. My mistake was that i did fastboot flash boot boot.img but i neglected to actually flash the room and i didn't put the rom in the sdcard, so now i need to mount the sdcard to load the rom to flash it, but that is where i am stuck, is there a way to copy files into the sdcard via adb or any other way?
Any help will be greatly appreciated it.

I think what you need to do then is flash the ROM from your bootloader. I found this guide with directions explaining how to flash from the bootloader by googling How To Flash Rom from Bootloader in the XDA Wiki. Here are the steps
ROM Flashing
Obtain a ROM of your choice, and note the location on your computer.
reboot your device into fastboot mode via one of the following options.
adb reboot bootloader (requires USB debugging to be turned on).
power off the device then back on with 'vol up' + power button.
Wipe your device.
fastboot -w
Update your ROM.
fastboot update </path/to/your/RomFile.zip>
Your phone will update and automatically reboot into the new ROM.
ROM update without SDcard
If you don't have an sd card, or your slot is broken you can try this trick, but you will need a custom recovery like Clockwork.
Boot up your phone to recovery. And move your rom file to the adb directory, and start a command line ( cmd )
adb shell
mount data
adb push D:\custom_rom.zip /data/
Wait until the push finised, and restart your device to recovery again with "adb reboot-bootloader"
mount data
mount /data /sdcard ( mount the data folder into your sdcard folder, so your recovery will think that you have an sdcard installed )
Locate the ROM .Zip file you wish to flash.
Confirm the flash by following the on-screen instructions (ie: pressing the trackball, pressing the call button, etc.)
If no errors arise during the flashing process then the ROM flash was successful, Reboot the device.
With some root file explorer, remove the rom file if you don't need it anymore, to free up space.
Or use adb to remove the custom recovery
adb shell rm data/custom_rom.zip

Lol this just happen toe last night what u need to do is boot into bootloader then plug it USB cable to ur phone and format your sdcard it make sure u download a Rom to your computer before this it can be any tom you like after you format you can put the Rom on ur sdcard and flash and u will be golden
loading into bootloader doesn't allow the computer to read/access the sdcard keep in mind this is the HOX so the sdcard is the internal memory, i could get into the recovery and then try to mount it that way and format from there but for some reason i can't select the option mount sdcard.

I did it. Apparently you can install a zip ROM from SD card once you repartition it from the recovery. There is an option to partition the SD card in the Recovery.
After that, restart the phone, go into recovery again, connect to the PC using a USB cable, and use the USB mount option if you want to copy the ROM without removing the microSD card from the phone. Copy the zip ROM to the sdcard and try installing the ROM again. It worked for me !

So I think I may have currupted my sdcard. I'm running CM-12 4/21/15 nightly. I'm a nubie at this stuff and have read everywhere I can think of on the forums. When I try to reboot to bootloader from TWRP recovery if goes immediately to the do no remove USB connection FIRMWARE Update. I am worried that this will un-root me with AT&T being jerks and fixing the bumped bootloader. So, I have always just pulled the battery, plus it never has any progress on the %downloaded bar.
To try to fix the issue I may have just made it worse and created too many partitions or corrupted the SD by doing exactly what you said not to do above. Before I did a TWRP wipe (not the advanced version) the SD card was mounted, but some apps like google play music kept saying external storage removed. I did the wipe and saw the factory reset screen and said ok. I had to download all my apps again and then switched to Google Now launcher I orginally rooted and bootloader unlocked with bump on a different smaller external SD card. I wasn't sure if that had anything to do with it.
I'm almost unsure what to ask you or other more experienced users what to do.
eee. how about on my samsung galaxy j5 sm j500h? i wanted to mount my phone to pc but i cant. was planning to fix my phone cause im stucked on bootlogo due to flashing xposed-v72-sdk22-arm.zip. Hoping that you guys can help me out.

It seems you wiped/formatted your internal storage.
You should be able to mount by USB to your pc if you have your drivers for the device installed though I have never tried.
Few things you could try.
1.) reformat microSD card(fat32) and put rom on it and see if it is mountable again.
2.)If you are getting the message unable to mount internal storage try formatting the internal storage using twrp(data will be lost).

I try new SD card and reformat but same situation. How driver i need for connection over USB?
You'll need to use adb to connect your device whilst in twrp. However why don't you just copy a ROM to SD card and flash that way?

What happens when you put the ROM on the microSD and try to install it via install on TWRP

This looks to me as if you're another candidate for this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1803343
The instructions are for an old ICS rom, but still work with JB 4.2
You may want to search for users ssnova or jjgrantham in the CROMIX thread in the development section and pm them.
They had exactly your problem: only thing they could boot to was TWRP and solved it using above method.
Good luck, let us know if it worked!

Worked for me

Well, after looking a solution to ADB sideload write error from TWRP, I just rebooted TWRP, asked me to install SuperSU, rebooted, and sideload worked perfectly.
HellYeah

That sorted my sideloading error too - many thanks!
My OPO is running on TWRP v2.8.4.1 recovery.
I formatted my entire phone by wiping the internal storage, system, and cache partition. I want to now transfer the ROM files and gapp files to the phone so I can reinstall.
I am booted into the TWRP recovery and connected my OPO to my PC using USB. However, I am unable to transfer files of folder to the internal storage.
How do I do this?
Go into the Mount menu from the TWRP main menu and enable MTP.

I did that but it wasn't working. The device would show up on my PC but wouldn't let me create files on the internal storage.
I fixed the issue. It seems I had to reboot the phone after wiping out everything.
Thanks

You can use adb sideload or adb push command to send files via terminal.
You need twrp recovery as usual.
