My OPO is running on TWRP v2.8.4.1 recovery.
I formatted my entire phone by wiping the internal storage, system, and cache partition. I want to now transfer the ROM files and gapp files to the phone so I can reinstall.
I am booted into the TWRP recovery and connected my OPO to my PC using USB. However, I am unable to transfer files of folder to the internal storage.
How do I do this?
Go into the Mount menu from the TWRP main menu and enable MTP.

I did that but it wasn't working. The device would show up on my PC but wouldn't let me create files on the internal storage.
I fixed the issue. It seems I had to reboot the phone after wiping out everything.
Thanks

You can use adb sideload or adb push command to send files via terminal.
You need twrp recovery as usual.

Help guys, I made a really noob mistake (I am a noob). Anyway, UI was about to flash a JB ROM coming from ICS, so I went a litttle overboard on the wiping. in CW under mounts and storage I format /system, format/cache, format/data, and format/sdcard and formar /boot. Now there is no ROM on the SD card for me to flash, and when since I stupidly format/ boot there is no boot image, only stock recovery and clockwork? Can I push a ROM with adb? but i dont know how to do that. I read commands like adb push <pathname> <destination> etc, bu have no clue where to type this?

In recovery go to Mounts and Storage then mount USB storage. That way you can transfer a ROM via USB.

ADB has nothing to do with USB mounted. Why do you need ADB? If everything is mounted, a drive letter will appear under my computer, just like when you mount storage from within Android. If not, with USB mounted in the recovery, unplug and replug your phone.

ohh ok, mounted sd card and it showed up. Thanks guys managed to copy the ROM and flash. Sorry for the noob questions.
Hi all, i have a huge problem. Yesterday i wiped everything in my rom with cwm, wiped data, sd, cache, dalvik and system. I saved on my pc a folder with some files i need to flash and some backups. I would like to mount the usb storage from the recovery, put the files in and flash normally through cwm. BUT, and there is a but, my phone is perfectly view by the pc (it says also Nexus s in periferical) but doesn't see the drive when i mount the usb storage? Do you know why? Is not a problem of drivers, because the phone is perfectly seen. Now i can't boot, because i don't have a SO, and i can't mount the usb storage from cwm. Is there a method to flash roms .zip from fastboot? I'd need the .img file, not the .zip ones. How do i solve?
Thank you very much
I solved by downloading the factory images from google and flashing them from bootloader

i erased everything and tried to do the mount through recovery, and it worked
cant help you
Hi community,
I have my Nexus 5 since 2 Days. Now it cant find the internal storage.
U dont talk about usb, mount at mass storage etc. NO
My Phone didnt recognize the internal storage.
So i can boot it, but can not access.
What i have done:
- its odex stock rom
- open bootloader
- root SuperSU
- Recovery TWRP latest
Until then everything was fine.
Then I tried to mount my USB storage with TWRP.
I know now its not possible..
But I would not give up so I installed CWM latest to try it.
->
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery cwm.img
fastboot erase cache
After that i navigated to "mount option" and try to mount and unmount all of this buts not working.
So i flashed back to twrp and reboot my phone.
Now the phone has booted, but the internal storage was not recognized.
In addition, there is no GSM / LTE connection.
Because I can not access the storage, I can not f the recovery
So my question:
How does the phone get back access to the memory?
Thank
Try format data and data/media (sdcard) from recovery. If that doesn't work, you may have to flash the factory images from fastboot. In either case, your data will be wiped.

Since you´ve messed up your internal storage, I suggest you to flash a factory image and to hope for the best

Flashing a factory image is very simple, have a look at eg. this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701

That's ironic, the very same thing happen to me yesterday except in my case I undervolted too low and corrupted the data, had to format everything.
Which recovery are you using? PhilZ Touch allows you to push stuff onto the internal storage.
The command would be "adb push (name of your folder) /sdcard/"
thanks for the response...im using TWRP...i just decided to flash the stock images and start from scratch
adb doesn't work in fastboot mode. Only fastboot works in fastboot mode. adb works only in recovery mode or Android mode. adb and fastboot are NOT the same thing. They are not synonymous

Get fastboot and adb exes for windows.
Add them to your PATH to make them available from everywhere.
If you dont know from where to get fastboot and adb and you dont know how to add them to the PATH, then this is for you.
If you choose TWRP to flash new rom:
If you are on windows 8 or 8.1 then disable driver signature enforcement.
You need universal naked drivers.
Open CMD window on your PC.
Go to that directory where the rom.zip is. (The commands you need to navigate between folders: dir and cd)
For adb push:
Type this in the CMD window and flash it in TWRP:
Code:
adb push rom.zip /sdcard
For adb sideload:
In twrp: Advanced->ADB Sideload->Swipe to Start Sideload
Then type this in the CMD window:
Code:
adb sideload rom.zip
If you ends up in boot loop do a factory reset.
For flashing factory images:
Enter the phone to fastboot mode and connect it to the PC
Install usb drivers from google.
Download factory images for nexus 5 and extract it.
Run flash-all.bat.

I've been having trouble with this..... When I wipe data in twrp it also wipes internal storage. How are people wiping their device for a clean rom install?

Oh.... Interesting I guess I never thought that it could be an issue with the recovery itself.... I just assumed it was operator error.
So I would assume CWM is the obvious alternative.... Is there anything else that is recommended?

What do you mean by internal storage? Wiping data will wipe your apps but anything on your internal sdcard should not be wiped. Backups, etc

What I do is reboot to twrp. Select wipe then swipe that thing which tells me "swipe to factory reset".
This does wipes /cache and /data without deleting /data/media. The files on the internal storage is in /data/media/0
What I do not do is selecting Format data and type yes for format or going into the advanced wipe and select /sdcard to format too.
hey

hey i have the same problem dude can you please help me with this
Hi, can anyone help me, I got problem.
I have Lenovo A526 phone stuck in logo. First time I used Sp Flash Tools & Stock Rom to fix, after all done the popup said "Download OK" but after restart it still hang in logo. I tried few time.
Stock ROM from this site: http://firmwarefile.com/lenovo-a526 And I use SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1628 from that site too.
Then I use this rom: http://www.symbianize.com/showthread.php?t=1184121 With the same SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1628. I use " [Custom ROM] A526 is based on a sink firmware ROW_031 for Lenovo a526 " from FoxtrotKZ, result still same.
Later I've used ADB & TWRP recovery to install a custom rom. With this custom rom:
http://www.needrom.com/download/miui...v5-5-01-16-ru/
https://filosofipohonkelapa.wordpres...n-ke-lollipop/
http://www.mastahdroid.com/2015/08/c...novo-a526.html
I tried via adb sideload and via sdcard too. Same result.
On TWRP recovery the message said "Installation Done ! Please Reboot ! Successful".
But at the end of line of installation, it's written:
Updating partition details...
E:Unable to mount '/cache'
E:Unable to mount '/data'
E:Unable to mount '/system'
Then I reboot and it still hang in logo
https://postimg.org/image/6tlj5nem7/
I boot to recovery and tried "wipe" option, Same result.
https://postimg.org/image/oibdy3b7f/
Dont know the meaning of that and fix this. Can anyone help? Thank you.
Can i recover files pictures after swiping/format on twrp?

omg you saved me, thank you so much for this info!
I'm using nexus 6p and when I try to install new pie Ron with FBE instead of FDE, I use a USB OTG adapter and install the zip from USB storage then completely format internal storage.
So if you have USB OTG then you can mount the USB storage into TWRP and install from there
"CM Lockscreen has stopped" turns OPO into bootloop, how to backup /sdcard to pc?
I got the "CM lockscreen has stopped" message, and now my phone keeps rebooting. I can put the phone into stock recovery mode and maybe fastboot mode(yet to try). All i wanted now is to backup all my files in internal storage before "sideload" the older firmeware(33R) to fix the phone.
I just learned how to use adb and fastboot.
in stock recovery mode------> apply update-----> adb, only "adb sideload mode" is allowed, i can't use adb pull command in here.
Question is: How to backup all the files in internal storage(/sdcard) to my pc.
should i just sideload the older firmware and fix the rebooting issue first?
but i am worrying this method won't works or the internal storage will get formatted.
Thank you
Just flash a custom ROM using TWRP. Your files won't be erased from internal sd card.
No need to use fastboot. Don't forget to wipe in twrp.

But i didn't install TWRP on my phone. To install TWRP now, i think i have to unlock the bootloader first, but this will wipe all the data(including internal sd scard). Am i right?
