I just got off the phone with Nexus Support, and they said it's a bug, and they're working on trying to fix it.

this is a horrible bug, but they have a week to figure it out....only Sunday it matters.

So it's a bug in every phone? I'm guessing since u have a nexus and I a gs2 its android.

He could try deleting and reinstalling the app but it does sound like its a bug with his phone. When did that app come out?

Well two days late but I guess something is working.
I'm looking to get this phone for Christmas, but I see that there are a lot of complaints about this helicopter glitch. Does this happen on every phone, or just a certain amount? Also, is there a fix out for it yet? If not I'll stay safe and go with the Sony Xperia T, thanks a lot!

i didnt even know what this was till i googled it because of this post. it has never happened to me or my friends htc one s. could be a select few or patched already. the phone is great though. if anything, if u get it, just recreate the issue..if it does it, take it back to the store and change it for something else easy as pie! gl with whatever u go with!!

In the future it will be possible.
It would be quicker to post a sticky about the things we currently cannot do with the M8.
Thanks for the responses. I like the phone but hate all the extra crap they put on it. I want it to be stock so I can decide what to install.
Not in the near future... A lot needs to happen to make this possible

There is no timeline to be put on this. It will happen as soon as a way is found. the M7 was released end of August, and S-OFF wasn't achieved until right around October. It may be soon, it may take months. Its up to how well the community supports the dev's along with a bit of luck.
Does anyone know if there is a way to make just the soft keys appear like stock/nexus keys, softkeyz currently is not compatible but does gravity box or any app out there work for what I'm trying to do any help would be really appreciated.

Doesn't look like it's coming back. Not sure what happened...
They got rid of the live weather option for the lock screen with this update. Does anyone know of a replacement app that is similar? I'm not rooted and not planning on rooting either, I want my Samsung Pay.

Tried some in the past, but they seemed to slow the phone down. The more i look though, that seems to be the only real alternative. So disappointing.
Any chance we could grab the app from 5.1.1 and install it to get it back?

You can but he wants to do this without root. Its not going to happen.
