Every day, sometimes twice a day, the phone will have a notification that it "found" some suggested contacts to link between my Google account and Facebook. So I link them all and click Ok. Then it comes back later again. This has been happening for months. Has anyone else seen this bug or know how to resolve it?

I don't have this problem but I don't use Google to sync contacts, I sync with my companies exchange server. I'm sure you've tried this, but maybe remove FB account and then add it back?
mine doesnt just do it with google. it also does it with the ones that are synced via tmobile as well. i may try deleting the facebook sync and start all over. funny thing is i froze my facebook account a few weeks ago via my pc and when i unfroze it, i had to delete the sync and re-add it for it to work again.

Sometimes I am successful with my Desire that when I turn it off or do a normal restart I have deleted all the numbers in the phonebook, all other things remain the same but the numbers disappear happened to me 2-3 times already. Someone knows why?
Are you making sure to save your numbers to your google account?

no, I keep them stored on the SIM when you delete them on the phone epoi amount will sync to facebook HTC sense. I rightfully so?

Ok so google has been no help. Seems all the issues are people not having any contacts sync...
My S3 was perfect and FB sync was pulling only the contacts I had in my phone already which is what I wanted. I noticed a few weren't syncing due to slightly different names/spellings so I went to manually join them. After joining them it is now pulling ALL of my contacts in! This is complete crap and I dont want 500 peoples numbers in my phone.
I have tried going back into the fb app and setting to sync only existing again and forcing a resync. I have even uninstalled the app from my phone and reinstalled and its still pulling them all!
Anyone have any solutions?
have you tried menu - contacts to display? or settings - only contacts with phone numbers?

Nope didnt realized that menu scrolled down more XD
While this doesnt directly solve my problem I just changed it to show only "Phone" contacts rather than all so thanks!

Does anyone else have the same problem with gmail as me? After maybe 30 minutes to an hour i keep on getting the message that my sign-in has failed and i need to keep on entering my password, also when i delete emails they either stay there or reappear later on!
Nope, but I do sometimes get the error that it couldn't sync my contacts on the regular email app for my work Office 365 exchange account
This is what I get and it's driving me crazy !
No problems here with gmail...yet.

Used to be a common problem with Android. The solution was what was stated earlier, remove the account and add again. I don't think I've seen that problem since KitKat...
And with emails coming back, this used to happen to myself as well. I have my Yahoo email come through the Gmail app and it used to happen all the time. Now when I get an email I don't care to read I'll delete it from the notification bar and I haven't seen it return like it did to myself on marshmallow on my s7. But I'm able to see multiple emails and still delete them individually from the notification bar now, I couldn't do that before.
Since setting up my phone on 20th April, Google contacts has failed to sync, but Samsung contacts is working fine. This is showing up in both the Cloud/Accounts/Google contact sync and in the Contacts App /manage contacts/sync contacts. Is anyone else experiencing the same, thinking it may be that i used Smart switch to transfer content from my S6.

Download "contacts sync fix" from the play store and run it. Worked for me.
Is this with all contacts? Or just those You've entered in your new phone? What if you add a contact via the website? Does that sync to your phone?

I was having the same issue of not syncing Contacts in two Google Account, used the suggested app, it seems to be working. Thanks.
I've noticed I lost some contacts when I synched my s7 to my s8. I realized it when I would get texts from someone, see no name and just their number in the messaging app but was able to figure out who it was based on the message history which transferred over fine using smart switch. Of course the missing contacts were propogated to google and not sure how they got deleted.
Hope this solution might work for you ! I'm using S8 plus and the root cause was that the battery saving mode disabled these things

Does the app in the store kick it back into gear... Or is it just a temporary fix?
Fixed
After switching over to to the S8+ from the S7 EDGE, I
1. uninstalled the main Gmail account from my new phone
2. Reinstalled it
3. Restored contacts from main phone settings menu
4. Went to phone, contacts menu, and removed the "hide contacts with no number"
5. Magically, the contacts I wanted... were there. But they had their numbers stored in another account. Not sure why.
6. Copied and pasted the number I had been missing into all my main or pertinent Gmail accounts from within the contacts app of the phone.
7. Beautifully, the contact shows up now... AND... the phone backs up and syncs contacts as it should with no error message.

If you turn on power saving mode , just turning off the Power Saving feature .
I try on my Galaxy Note 5 it work....
This app fixed my contacts issue as well. I've used iOS for five years now, but now bought a Samsung S8. LOVE this new device! Only my new contacts wouldn't keep properly synced to my Google Apps account (basically my domain coupled with gmail). This app fixed this, everything now works peachy! I'm going to buy this app just to reward its creator! THANKS!

Disappearing contacts
I have Verizon S8+ and lately gmail contacts I have had in my Android phones for years, have started disappearing. Last week, I noticed in messages, a number with no name. when I looked at texts, I noticed this is a friend I have had in my phone for years and his number had been deleted in gmail. I noticed about 10 others that same thing has happened. I had to go back into gmail and enter number. Anyone know why this is happening?

What's annoying is that no where does it say anything about the mode interfering with your account settings.

I am suffering from this problem as well, tried turning off battery saving mode, downloaded the contact sync fix app and still nothing. Still says last contact synced in March. Also my calender won't sync nor Keep Notes either :/
