how to identify my phone and how to fix it - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

my friend asked me to try and fix his phone
1.i am not sure what model it is (i thing it's xperia E) but i can't find any sticker or model number on the battery and under it.
2.i can't turn on the phone (when i try to turn it on the red light flashes for 3 times , then stops for 1 second and then flashes again 3 times but i can't see anything on the screen
what to do??

here you go!
for model
*#*#7378423#*#*
flash ftf again
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/general/xperia-e-official-thread-roms-mods-root-t2535522

He can't turn it on. How could he enter dialer???
I'd say you should google anything that is written under the battery
Edit: maybe ask your friend for the box of the phone? And then flash the correct ftf mentioned above

The 3 Red LED Blinks indicate the battery is dead
If you want to recover it use the original charger that came packed in the box and put it on charge for a couple of hours it'll take around 2-3 hours for it to start charging again (I've experienced this issue) If the problem still persists try a new battery
However i the first method works you may encounter another problem, and the device may be bricked (This happened to me after i recovered my battery) What you will need to do is use flashtool and flash Stock Rom again, But if the device boots up normally without hitting into a bootloop i guess it's working normally
(This problem happened to my Xperia J)
Note: If you're planning to buy a new battery make sure you buy a genuine one, as most people try to re-create the original battery and it just shows the wrong battery percent I've also experienced that and i blew £10 :silly:

I am not very deep into this stuff, but had the same issue today. Luckely I was able to enter the bootloader by pressing Vol- and Power on at the same time. Maybe this will help - I hope so. Failing that, just wait a little longer, this community is always here to help and very clever!
Best wishes
You should go to the bootloader (as mentioned above) and relock it, And then install the proper RUU from here:
ht tp ://w ww. androidruu. com/?developer=Ville (S4 version, bootloader says VLE)
ht tp ://w ww. androidruu. com/?developer=VilleC2 (S3 version, bootloader says VILLEC2)
(remove spaces from the link)
So, my friend told me the phone could be charged. And so does that mean, he can go to the bootloader and ressurect it?

Yes
I guys, just to be sure if all these steps are correct.
1. See if the phone can got to Bootloader
2. Plug in the phone to the computer
3. Download the compatible RUU
4. Relock it.
But idk how to do the fourth step. I'm using Ubuntu so drivers aren't rly required. And i heard there's 2 types of One S. The C2, no how to check whether i have either the C2 or the standard One S?
Really really appreciate if you can answer all this

1- To lock your phone you should enter bootloader, select fastboot, then connect the device to a computer. Now you should see "fastboot usb" white text on red background. Open a terminal and type
Code:
sudo fastboot oem lock
That's all(I assume you know what to do next)
2- if you could enter bootloader and see VLE after TAMPERED and UNLOCKED tags it's s4 variant and if you see VILLEC2, it's s3(c2) variant

Doesn't do show anything on the display.

OKay guys so i got my hands on the Bricked One S.. First things first, when i got it, i think some mad guys at the repair shop removed the screws on the One S and taking the top cap off kinda bend the Blue plate or whatever. Anyways, when i plugged the device to charge, theres the LED Notification lit up, then about 2 secs, it doesn't anymore. So while charging, i tried going to the bootloader, Power Button + Vol Down same time. Then suddenly, the One S's screen had a white flash on a certain part of the screen either top or bottom then it disappeared somewhat like lightining. After that flash assuming its going to turn on, i let go of the Power Button but the Vol Down. The LED Notification light was lit too but like the situtation when charging, it went off. So i can't go to Bootloader or Fastboot, but is there any way possible to ressurect this phone? Or maybe the screws were affecting the Main PCB or smth? HELP PLS. Counting on you guys

Yeah guys this is a problem of death batt or empty one. Let it to charge for a few hours and then try again, if still the issue persist then (even is littlebit difficult) try to test it with a good batt. If it goes to bootloader consider replacing with a new batt.

Yup. I'm having the same issue here. And it wierd because if you try charging to the wall charger for a day the LED will have the orange light and this time if you were to try the button combination the white flash that we use to see initially stops happening. An one the orange light dissapear the button combination will start back. But the phone is still bricked or Dead.
How can we make the phone respond to the computer or even get any response itself?
Without having responding is there any way to fix this?
Sadly, i sort of sent my One S to a repair shop cos of that problem. Im getting it back soon cos another guy told me to adb reboot-bootloader. Now the saddiest thing is that my computer is running Linux with adb but it doesnt detect any device i plugged.

There are problems entering HBoot sometimes. Try to enter it via your computer. Plug your phone into computer and use the command "adb reboot-bootloader" twice. You should get to the bootloader

[Help]Sony Xperia E - RED LED unchargable battery

Hello guys , I am having a serious problem with my Sony Xperia E , it seems to be bricked. Something went wrong , I heard it happens sometimes because of software bug or whatever , and your phone goes into this sleep mode , which won't charge at all. I mean , when I plug it in to charge , the red led lights up (once every 3-4 seconds) untill it finally starts up , but when it starts up it shutdowns since the battery is 0% and not charging. On the internet I could not find any help about Sony Xperia E and this red led error. So , if anyone knows what to do.. Please help me , I'm too lazy to take it to a service and besides I don't got money to spare for it

Hi Cezar and everyone else (this is my first post),
I had the exact same problem and i was sure i bricked my phone beyond repair but there is a way to fix it. So my first thought was to externaly charge my battery but you can't do that, so i came up with a way. You will need to strip one end of the USB cable and separate the black and the red wire. The red wire is positive and the black is negative. Put the two wires between the battery and the positive and negative sockets in your phone (like shown in the pictures [attached]). And now your phone will be charging .
And do not forget, red is the postive, black the negative!
I hope this solves your problem!
P.S. Don't mind the black box, I built it just so i can use it for projects to have a power source, it's just a switch and a LED

Hello,
I was in the exact same situation yesterday with my Xperia J but luckily i managed to fix it, Your battery is able to charge what's happened is it's completely flat like there's no juice left, So what you have to do Plug your charger in via Mains and leave it like that for a good hour or two, Take your phone off charge and push the power button and see if the red led flashes 3 times if it does this means your battery is still flat, So what i did next is plugged it in via USB and put it in flashmode attempting to flash stock rom back onto it, but that just completely failed so then i tried flashing CWM that did get me somewhere my phone booted up after but then it died again so i left it on charge via USB this time for one hour and it was charging as usual i then flashed Stock rom back onto it, it was still bricked after (bootloop) so i flashed it again, and it got my device back to good health, Not sure if any of that made sense but **** it

And also , is this the only way to deal the problem ? And do you have any ideea what causes this ?
Hi cezar,
Just keep your phone on origenal charger and cable for an hour. This should work.

Well with this method you will need a spare USB cabel for data transfer/flashing because this one will be just a USB on the one side and stripped wires on the other.
This is the only way I found how to deal with this problem, you could always find someone with the same phone so that he can charge your battery for you.
This problem is a symptom of a soft brick. I guess you flashed a ROM that isn't stable so you found yourself in a loop. My advice is to do one of the things I said and in the future flash nee ROMs with at least 50% battery so you don't find yourself in this situation!
P.S. Try SONYs Emma, thats a cute little program for flashing stock ROMs especially in situations like this one.

[Q] Help! My a850 won't turn on!

Hey,
I bought Lenovo a850 and for the first month it was great, but then in one day, without any cause it reboot some times and then just died...
At first I was able to turn it on (sometimes..) but after few seconds it turned off again.
I tried anything I know.
I tried to:
turn it on simply - not working.
power + volume up - not working.
power + volume down - not working.
power + volume up + volume down - not working.
I tried to charge it, this is tricky:
As you know (I guess...) the is a red LED when you charge it.
When I connecting the charge the red LED turn on but after 15 minutes it turn off.
I tried to give it a long time... Still, nothing new.
When connecting the charger without the battery the LED turn on.
I also bought new battery, of course I can't turn it on, and again - charging for 15 minutes and the LED turn off.
I noticed that when the LED turn of the charger stop to heat (if you call it heat...), so at least the LED is trusted!
I tried to charge the old battery directly (with universal battery charger), charge it to 100% and now when connecting the charger to the phone (with the old battery fully charged) the LED stay off...
I tried to open the phone, disconnect all the connections and connect it again - nothing new.
I tried to plug it to my computer and detect it and install drivers to use Flush Tool, but I can't detect it (with the battery and without) even for a microsecond!
Although I can't detect another phone that working, without the battery.
I have know idea what to do next, the only option I have right now is to send it back to the seller but it will take a lot of time.
It will be amazing if someone will help me here, you can take it as a challenge ...
Thank you so much!
And of course - sorry for my bed English...lol....
Sorry but this sounds like a hardware problem. There is nothing we can do :/
You better sent it back without messing with the software.

Are you sure that there is nothing else to try out?
For me, shipping to the seller (china) may cost a lot and will be complicated and will take a long time (months).
Shipping the phone to the seller is the last option for me.

Since you did't root the phone or try i do not think you could be able to harm it this way. If you do not want to sent it back to china, you can try a local repair shop (which it will also cost you) but first contact your seller and tell them that you are facing problems, maybe they know sth...

One mini with bootloader fail. Still alive but not boot up accurately

Hello to all.
I tried to find an answer for my troubles here by a few hours but unfortunatelly i didnt. So I wonder to find help here thanks to XDA specimens society.
Problem symptoms
1 I bought One mini in USA. Seller provided a photo with bootloader screen which I attach below.
2 When received device, it didnt boot up at all. Only a HTC logo appeared at white background and screen began black.
Than when I press a power button, a touch buttons under screen flash 10 times and stop. Again press of power button gives one short vibration and nothing later happens.
I noticed that alu cover at down side (battery area) becomes warm and it is working till battery power goes to 0%
3 When "working", mobile is detected by Windows system connected by usb. It show mass storage, modem and not recognized device.
4 Also it shows a battery charging animation if power button was not pressed before and battery is charged from 0%.
After a two weeks in my desk it still shows 99% what means that battery is mint condition and mobile is not working when not powered on before.
Serviceman said that I have broken bootloader and it should be repaired.
Finally I found out that I can install a new ROM.
So I downloaded a
drivers (recommended here at another article)
TWRP recovery file 2 7 0 5 m4kk
customized Rom by CodenameLungo version CM 11
What I should do now? What tools install? How to putt all these into phone memory if I have not acces to bootloader screen?
If you know article which solve my problem than I will be thankfull for a link.
I know that for most of you these questions are stupid but I m not a pro and will be thankfull for a little help
THX in advance for all who will try to help me.

Do you know how to enter bootloader? When the phone is off, you hold the Volume Down Button and the power button until phone boots up (several seconds). If you can access bootloader this way, we have a chance to help you out.
Yes I read about this method. Unfortunatelly it didnt work. Or i tried power+vol up.
Today I visited another specialist and left it for diagnostic purposes. They suppose that bootloader is damaged and should be reconstructed (if I can name it this way).
They were listening to me carefully before said that wold try to connect it with computer.
I hope they know what to do. Will call them on Friday and post here what s going on in their opinion.

OK. Good luck with it.
Bootloader was reconstructed and now it is running to the boot menu. But serviceman has a problem with flashing ROM. He said that during instalation system cant rebuild certificate and all proces fails at 3%.
May anyone point me any link with instructions what should be done at this situation? We have a deal that on Monday i take mobile back, even if rom will not be flashed correctly...
He confirmed that this phone comes from ATT broadband and is not sure if that change anything or not.
Also suggest that previous owner tried to modify ROM by himself and thats why bootloader was damaged...

[Q] Hard Bricked Xperia Tipo

I was installing a WALKMAN Mod while my phone is Low Battery (About 14%), while the mod installing a wipe my sweat using my phone in the edges(LOL ), after a minutes my phone turned off but i did i not see it turning off, after i turned it on it was nothing, the power button part was actually hot, after i inserted a new sim and waited for an hour, my phone vibrated but nothing showed up i removed the battery and boot it again but there was no vibration. After a couple of hours i asked Brother (Previous Owner and Experienced the Problem)if he still knows how to fix it, he said just throw your phone down but not pretty far, i did what he said and i turned on my phone and a red LED light showed up 3 times (indicates its low battery), and the connected to the loptop to restore to stock but the loptop can't recognize the phone and the phone still isn't showing up. :crying:
Thanks and in Advance to those who helped me
