Mi4 CWM recovery - in Chinese... - Xiaomi Mi 4

I can't post in the dev forum nor use links but here's a working CWM recovery for Mi4. It's in Chinese but if you used CWM before you can figure out the options.

Here's one in English that also works for me:

[Q][i9023] About the custom CWM recovery

Excuse me if it's the wrong place to ask this question.
In a lot of threads/guides/etc i read that it's best for the i9023 model to use the modified CWM recovery posted in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988686).
My question is: can't I just use the non-modified CWM recovery by koush? (http://www.koushikdutta.com/2010/02/clockwork-recovery-image.html) Or is it important to use the modified one?
thank you

j_r0dd has done an awesome job updating cwm from the latest source (with his own tweaks). Koush has not updated his ns build since 3.0.2.4, which was the last version to NOT work for the 9023.

If there are English recoveries out there, just flash one over your existing one. I think that's the best advice you'll get without us knowing what device you have.

htc one x clone
android version 4.1.9
baseband 4.0
kernel 1.28.708.10
build 4.12
custom build htcextention-403-1-ga-7
thanks for a decent reply and i hope this will help you to help me
many thanks
Ah. If it's a clone, that's gonna be harder, as there's no way to know beforehand that a certain custom recovery .img will work. I think you have 3 choices:
Find out from someone else who has your same device
Try flashing a custom recovery designed for another device (such as the real HTC One X)
Stay with what you've got
If you choose #2, the changes could be irrecoverable. That's just part of the deal when you buy a clone, unfortunately.

Cannot flash cm 11 nightlies for tab 2 7.0 (fails)

I am trying to flash the latest nightly of cm 11 to my tab 2 7.0 (p3113) and I wiped cache and delvik then did install zip and selected the cm 11 nightly zip and did the swipe to flash and it started to flash but after several seconds it said failed.
file I attempted to flash: cm-11-20140110-NIGHTLY-p3110 and gapps-kk-20131119
I am using twrp v2.6.3.0
this is the rom I was running prior to flashing cm 11: cm-10.2-20130919-UNOFFICIAL-p3110
Any assistance would be greatly apreciated. I don't know why this won't flash and am restoring a backup of my old rom now. But I would like to run kitkat if I can
update your recovery (mentioned in OP of CM Thread! Read carefully next time!) and please report your thread to be moved to "Q & A" Forum --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-2/help

I am now using cwm 6.0.4.5 and still no luck in fact every time I try and go back to an old rom it boots up once and only once but if i reboot it will hang at the galaxy tab screen
use philz recovery
I was facing this issue on my tab 2 p3100. As the latest build of cwm recovery is not available for this device, I had to search other options. Philz recovery came to rescue. Get the latest build . you'd definitely taste success. This recovery is based on cwm therefore you'd be able to use cyan Delta updater too.

Hi
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39935850&postcount=89
Unfortunately,I've not seen your model in the list.
You may need to wait for an update for your recovery
I'll suggest you to check cwm official site as well.
And yes, it works with kitkat. It was the sole reason to switch to the new recovery

I currently have 6.0.4.5 unofficial. Should I revert to 6.0.2.3 which is the last version listed on the cwm site?
or should I get the latest version of twrp?
I am really stumped and can't get ANY rom to work at all.
Given the vast knowledge this forum has to offer what would be the best course of action?
philz for 3113? got it

Enjoy kitkat!

Thank you. After trying a few different CWM recoveries with no luck but twrp 2.6.3.3 worked like a charm. I am now on a kitkat nightly with no reboot freezes. However there seems to be something draining the battery a little faster than with cm 10.2
I've felt the same in kitkat. Although our models differ,it's quite concerning.
Anyway,it's good that you got kitkat. I don't prefer twrp as cyan delta updater doesn't work on that recovery ,if I'm not wrong.
sent using my HTC One S
error status 7(cm11 for samsung tab 2)

[Q] CM11 n8020 installation with CWM says "this is a GT-N8000"

Hello everyone,
I am trying to install CM11 on my GT-N8020 with CWM as described in the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608839
Unfortunately, during the step where I actually start the CM installation it says:
"This package is for "p4noteltexx, n8020, GT-N8020" devices: this is a "GT-N8000".
But my device clearly is a GT-N8020. It says so on the back and in the settings.
I would really appreciate help because I need to upgrade to Android 4.4. for work...
Thank you guys

I had the same problem with CWM Recovery. Simon build his own version of CWM that worked for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49458614&postcount=8
Anyway it would have been a good idea to post into this thread directly

Thanks for your answer, mate! I'm new to the forum and you need a minimum amount of posts to participate in these threads.. So I opened a thread in the Q&A forum.
I haven't been able to solve my problem yet, so I will soon have a look at this CWM and try it.
Btw: Mainzer hier!

Thank you again. I didn't have to time try it immediately, but yesterday I put my time into it and now it works!!! I am so glad.
I flashed a different CWM recovery (I think it's the one you mentioned) and then installed the newer version of the two ROMs there (thiink it's from 140122). I am so happy

[Completed] Lenovo A820 - Custom ROM

Hi. I would like to have a custom ROM on my Lenovo A820 device. It has stock rom with S147 kernel but there's no CWM for S147. I was looking for a full pack ROM (S135, S150) so I could flash it via SP Flash tool but I found packs for recovery usage only (except the S147 > no CWM). Do you have any idea how to solve this?

Hello, and welcome to XDA! I can't actually find much development for your device on XDA, much of it is outdated, but I would suggest you ask here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help, just in case someone can point you in the right direction. You will need to register in order to post. The only CWM recovery I can find for your device is two years old and I wouldn't recommend flashing it.
Good luck!
Does it support the S147 kernel? At the moment I can't call to anyone, because the IMEI is missing in the device. Google Play store is missing too and the phone can be only in Chinesse or English. If the CWM recovery that you found support the S147 kernel, then I would be really happy, because I don't know how to move from the S147 to any "normal" ROM with root.
But thank you for the reply!

Hi! Normally, CWM supports any kernel as long as you choose a version that is meant for your phone.
Best wishes

Hi. CWM worked fine year ago for me when it has a S135 kernel, but now the phone always says "FACTORY MODE" even if I flash it by different versions of CWM for A820. It's interesting because there is CWM for all types of kernels for A820 except the S147 so I thought it could be the problem.
Thank you again!
