[Completed] Lenovo A820 - Custom ROM - XDA Assist

Hi. I would like to have a custom ROM on my Lenovo A820 device. It has stock rom with S147 kernel but there's no CWM for S147. I was looking for a full pack ROM (S135, S150) so I could flash it via SP Flash tool but I found packs for recovery usage only (except the S147 > no CWM). Do you have any idea how to solve this?

Hello, and welcome to XDA! I can't actually find much development for your device on XDA, much of it is outdated, but I would suggest you ask here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help, just in case someone can point you in the right direction. You will need to register in order to post. The only CWM recovery I can find for your device is two years old and I wouldn't recommend flashing it.
Good luck!

Does it support the S147 kernel? At the moment I can't call to anyone, because the IMEI is missing in the device. Google Play store is missing too and the phone can be only in Chinesse or English. If the CWM recovery that you found support the S147 kernel, then I would be really happy, because I don't know how to move from the S147 to any "normal" ROM with root.
But thank you for the reply!

Hi! Normally, CWM supports any kernel as long as you choose a version that is meant for your phone.
Best wishes

Hi. CWM worked fine year ago for me when it has a S135 kernel, but now the phone always says "FACTORY MODE" even if I flash it by different versions of CWM for A820. It's interesting because there is CWM for all types of kernels for A820 except the S147 so I thought it could be the problem.
Thank you again!

If there are English recoveries out there, just flash one over your existing one. I think that's the best advice you'll get without us knowing what device you have.

htc one x clone
android version 4.1.9
baseband 4.0
kernel 1.28.708.10
build 4.12
custom build htcextention-403-1-ga-7
thanks for a decent reply and i hope this will help you to help me
many thanks
Ah. If it's a clone, that's gonna be harder, as there's no way to know beforehand that a certain custom recovery .img will work. I think you have 3 choices:
Find out from someone else who has your same device
Try flashing a custom recovery designed for another device (such as the real HTC One X)
Stay with what you've got
If you choose #2, the changes could be irrecoverable. That's just part of the deal when you buy a clone, unfortunately.

[Q] CM11 n8020 installation with CWM says "this is a GT-N8000"

Hello everyone,
I am trying to install CM11 on my GT-N8020 with CWM as described in the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608839
Unfortunately, during the step where I actually start the CM installation it says:
"This package is for "p4noteltexx, n8020, GT-N8020" devices: this is a "GT-N8000".
But my device clearly is a GT-N8020. It says so on the back and in the settings.
I would really appreciate help because I need to upgrade to Android 4.4. for work...
Thank you guys

I had the same problem with CWM Recovery. Simon build his own version of CWM that worked for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49458614&postcount=8
Anyway it would have been a good idea to post into this thread directly

Thanks for your answer, mate! I'm new to the forum and you need a minimum amount of posts to participate in these threads.. So I opened a thread in the Q&A forum.
I haven't been able to solve my problem yet, so I will soon have a look at this CWM and try it.
Btw: Mainzer hier!

Thank you again. I didn't have to time try it immediately, but yesterday I put my time into it and now it works!!! I am so glad.
I flashed a different CWM recovery (I think it's the one you mentioned) and then installed the newer version of the two ROMs there (thiink it's from 140122). I am so happy

[Completed] [HELP] Cant get to recovery mode after flashing rom

After flashing custom rom that is not suit for my device which is MyPhone Agua Iceberg, After installing the rom and booted the system. I only see a black screen and I can't able to get to recovery mode to revert the backup file of my previous room. Please guide me, it will help me much.

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. You can't flash ROMs or firmware that aren't intended for your device, the result is usually damaged partitions, which is probably what's happened to your phone. Because there's very little information available for your device I can't see a way for you to recover your phone. Are you able to boot into anything at all?
I brought it to ny friend and he used sp flash tool. My device is ok now. My problem right now is how to upgrade to kitkat, and how to increase ram memory.
Thans alot for your time to reply.
Ok, that's good. The only ROM I can find for your device is here:
[ROM][JB 4.2.2★][★DEGRUS™ & Megatron007™★][★DARKSIDE COLOUR OS★]
It's a Jelly Bean ROM though. Devices such as this, that are relatively low-popularity don't usually gain attention from developers so it isn't likely that there will be many ROMs available for it.
Thanks my friend for helping me. I appreciate it alot!
Now, I have the feeling of being afraid to flash rom because of what might happen. Grr!)
The ROM I linked you to states that's it's compatible with your device so you should be fine. I forgot to mention that you can't increase RAM, that's a hardware limitation.
Issue resolved, thread closed, thanks.

Custom recovery and custom ROM for Samsung Galaxy fame lite (gt-s6790n)

Hi everybody,
I decided to create this new discussion because I have some questions about this device. I have already rooted it, but I have something that I'm not able to do. I tried to find custom recovery for this device, but the only way I found was via Odin. Is any other simpler options? And I was even looking for a custom ROM, because the original one is incredibly slow, but I didn't find anything. Thank you for any advice and help

Flashing most custom recoveries to a samsung phone requires Odin, to be honest it is the simplest method. I know it looks confusing but after a few attempts it becomes seccond nature.
Thank you for this advice. So I think I'll use Odin. What about a custom ROM? I haven't found anything interesting yet

Just try until you find one that you like
OK, thank you for the advice. Does anybody have any advice for a gt-s6790n ROM?
There are no custom ROMs for the Fame Lite...
There is a TWRP recovery for it though. Worked fine on my S6790L

Digiland DL1036 root method?

Good day all!
I was looking for a budget tablet to replace my Amazon Fire 7, and stumbled across the Digiland DL1036. I'm very pleased with the quality for the price. It's fast, clean, and has a great and responsive screen. Anyways...
I did manage to unlock the bootloader. Now I am looking for a successful root method that way I can install a custom ROM should one become available. I am ADB capable, so if someone has been successful with rooting this tablet, I'd love to know your process so I can complete the root. I thought about trying Magisk but I'd rather not use a spoof. Thanks!
To flash a Custom ROM it's NOT required tablet's Android gets rooted before. All what is needed is a suitable Custom Recovery like TWRP.
