Hello, I recently discovered that CloudyG3 1.3 was released, and right it is the only known stable version (1.3)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783192
I noticed it said all variants, which also includes my Sprint LS-980ZVC. I don't know if I have clockworkmod installed, and when I try to "update" clockworkmod through ROM Manager, my phone is not listed, but the AT&T and Verizon variant is listed.
Within the first step of installing CloudyG3, the instructions say to perform a Full Wipe including Dalvik, Cache, System & Data. To my knowledge the only way to do this is to wipe while in clockworkmod recovery mode, which is apparently achieved by holding Volume Down+Power+Volume Up. When I do this, I boot into Hardware key control mode. The only thing stopping me from installing CloudyG3 is not being able to boot into clockworkmod recovery mode. Can anybody help me with this? Here are some specs for my phone.
Android Version: 4.4.2 KitKat
Baseband Version: M89774A-AAAANAZM-2.0.20046
Build Number: KOT49I.LS980ZVC
Software Version: LS980ZVC
Hi,
First, if you are currently rooted properly, try Quick Boot from the play store. It can boot you into recovery.
Then, you should be set. As far as recovery version goes, you should use the recommended version if the rom thread says to.
Once you have 10 constructive posts, you can post in the rom threads, which is the best way to ask questions about them. So maybe browse around and contribute some meaningful posts.
Until then, you can ask for help in your devices Q&A section....

Elementalx 14.12
Every update of Elementalx after 14.12 has failed. The installer is supposed to detect if it is sprint or verizon and install the correct variant. After selecting all of my settings and hitting "Install" it says it is installing the verizon kernel. After rebooting, I go into settings/about and see that I am still on 14.12. About 1 minute after booting I get a warning that HTC Dialer has stopped. After 1-2 more minutes the phone reboots. If I reflash 14.12 and the radio I am back to normal. (Restoring a nandroid backup does not fix the dialer or bootloop.)
A while back I had temporarily altered the Sku in "Default.xml" as part of a hack to get Sim unlock. Is it possible this has something to do with it?
I'm looking for a way to correct the cause of the misidentification or at least trick the installer into installing the sprint variant.
Hi,
The best place to find help would be asking in the kernel thread, but you'll need to reach 10 constructive posts first.
In the meantime, you will need to ask here for help....

I read in similar threads only data was supposed to be erased :\
Then friend said that GPlay store was soooo slow he Factory Reset... I had SuperSU, Root Checker, & Trickster.... all three gone.
1) Re-downloaded Root Checker & it say: SuperSU is not installed properly?
2) Can I download Color OS ROM & keep it saved with current custom rom then switch between running each one till I get them working right.
3) Why problem with Google Play store - Slow Gapps??
4) Do I proceed from here? Thank you all.

Hi, i have a vodafone tab 6 prime;
Model number VF-1497
Android Version 5.0.2
Baseband version: M8939AAAAANLYD2035A.1
Kernal Version: £.10.49-g0f957a6 [email protected] #1
Buld number 01001
Custrom build version 060FKG1
I had kingroot installed on my tablet, which worked fine, (i was trying to install linux on my tablet with no success, app on app store which required root permission), my system was unaffected, and worked fine, then there was a system update on google i think, but when i tried to update the system it said the device had to be unrooted, so i went into kingroot and managed to click on re-root, then i deleted king root and all assosiated files, all good i thought, i managed to get the updates but the device needed rebooted to apply, when i did my device is now stuck in boot loop which i presume that kingroot has locked all permisions to the device i may be wrong. I have looked for a stock rom/custom rom to no avail,, i can get into the hard reset on the device, i have cleared/wiped the cache, clicked on factory reset, several times. but still boots into dead android with no command error. I can still get into the recovery system and i have tried the adb sideload to load a back up but it gives error :closed.
i have a second tab prime 6 which i got the details i posted above from, the two devices are identical but i have no idea how to clone/copy or download the rom file. i have no idea how to change permissions and i have no special recovery softward installed like clockworkmod or nandroid. just the basic system, any ideas would be appreciated. so far i have spent 2 weeks researching with no luck. thanks in advance for any help.

First of all, i hope I'm not the only one in this forum!
I just found my old cellphone and want to get most of it, and good to mention now, there is almost noway to use any application because this is an old Android rooted version. I even not able to use my google account to get google play!
I know what download and recovery mode are, but it's shame to say i don't know how to get there in this phone! believe or not there is no file manager here! Now I'm thinking how did i pass days with this phone!?
I did a reset factory and hoped to see some improvements, but nothing got better!
So if anyone here and read my post please help me to get a fresh start
Android Version: 2.3.3
HTC Sense Version: 2.1
Baseband Version: 12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.1-gd2564fb
Best advice: start reading the threads in the General section. There should be multiple threads on how to root and to get S-Off on this device.
Custom ROMs up to Android 6.0.1 are available, and I currently have Android 5.1.1 on my roommate's old phone. However, on these old devices bootup times run nearly ten minutes, not including app optimization, and overall performance suffers. Android 6.0.1 will not install at all unless the /data partition is moved to the MicroSD card as the /system partition is too small.
If looking to tinker, the unofficial build of Cyanogenmod 12.1 for this device is likely the best option, as there's no need to move the /data partition.
EDIT: Did not notice the date of the original post.

I updated the official twrp app 1.17 on my Sprint HTC U11, running 7.11 & Bad Boyz 2.0 ROM, w/the FW build # 1.28.651.3 & now I've got none of the buttons to go into Install, Backup, Wipe, etc. that showed on the older version's startup screen; & I want to make a new nand backup.
Do I need to get ahold of an older version ofthe Official TWRP android app? If so, where to find it?
#2
Also, using the older version, whose startup screen shows all options Install, Wipe, Backup, etc, could I have accidentally encrypted my phone or TWRP or somethingthat would have caused this? I recall pressing a dbutton on the lower right corner of the old app, & some process ran on my screen too fast to see; I thought I was just 'exploring' what the older Official TWRP App could do & instead some script ran & I had to enter my security pattern & a msg showed that my pkone is encrypted & I have 30(?) attempts to enter the pattern before the phone would be wiped. Oddly, this behavior went away, the prompt for my pattern, when I went into old Official TWRP App & wiped Cache & Dalvik.
With this new version, I wouldn't be able to do that, or Restore a nand backup ? which makes me very concerned.
Please advise. TIA, oldwolf
All I get is what shows on this screenie:
What I see is only the TWRP App that is installed on the ROM to update your TWRP.
Did you reboot to recovery and check? If so please post some pictures and some logs.
In addition this would.habe belonged into the Q&A section, or - if pictures and log would've been available - into the TWRP thread. But let's leave it here for now and get this thread moved to Q&A later.

5m4r7ph0n36uru, thanks for your reply! I guess I really mixed things up in my mind... I figured that since twrp is a recovery, my question belonged there. Feel free to move it if it is called for; please just leave me a link as to where it will be…
I have worked w/Odin & Safety Strap mod tools on my obsolete S4 & older Droid Razr utils. I only used twrp when I installed a custom rom once, I switched to Sprint just this past June… so I'm not as comfortable yet working w/twrp & its ins & outs.
The thumbnail I attached was fm what I thought would change me over to the new 3.2.1-2 version of twrp.
I followed your advice & rebooted into recovery & voila! The features are all there, Backup, Install, etc.(should have known better - but we all have to learn from our mistakes I guess).
In Recovery mode, I'm still on version 3.1.1-0 of twrp- running FW 1.28.651.3 & 7.1.1 Nougat OS.
#1. Can I put 3.2.1-2 onto my device w/the listed OS & FW versions? or do I need to bring it up to latest FW?
#2. If 3.2.1-2 will work with my current FW, should it be flashed from my computer & if so in which mode? Recovery Mode- or using the Official TWRP App, on my fone?
Not sure what the Official TWRP App fm that thumbnail is for…now I am confused
Your help is much appreciated. oldwolf
